guys.. i found something a little bit weird here...
when i look at http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/aeon/#markets ,
it show total supply 12.4million

and also at the same time bittrex is dominating 100% Aeon's volume trading at the moment

Meanwhile at bittrex... only 1.2 million Aeon being traded
https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-AEON

So.. where the rest of the token? or is it coinmarketcap who show wrong stat?

I would like to think most people holding AEON especially longer-term are smart enough not to keep them on an exchange. Ever hear of MtGox, Bitfinex, etc., etc., etc.?

Hey could someone give me a quick tutorial on how to set up to solo GPU mine? I am having some difficulties setting it up. I tried by setting up a config file in the Roaming folder but it just screwed everything up. Maybe I have the wrong information input. PM or Open response. Thx.

Solo GPU mining is not possible directly against daemon.
commit #6084250 "Mine directly against daemon" was merging to follow wolf-xmr-miner development but it's not functional with aeond for now (perhaps it will be possible after rebasing, just guessing)

curently, to solo GPU mine, you must setting up a pool (linux only). no need to open it to the outside, the core running on localhost is enough. no need to host a front end and manage payments, you'll check stats on the terminal and the pool wallet is all for you.

there's some tweaks to launch the pool on ubuntu 16.04, no time now but i'll try to update my former instructions from ubuntu 15.10 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=641696.msg14609519#msg14609519

At least there's a serious suggestion, I wish more coins would do this. I've ended up setting personal pools, as today's coins are no longer following the original ideals of decentralization. It feels incredibly wasteful for something that was simple and natural just a while ago.

Back in 2010, you could only mine bitcoins with the daemon itself, and of course it was CPU-only. The first GPU miners came with a patch to the daemon to support "getwork", and soon it became official. First pools used getwork but it was too heavy and slow for such distributed work, so getblocktemplate and Stratum were developed. It would be great if we could still use getwork or GBT locally.

In fact, the problem can also be solved by better miners, without changes to the daemon.  Bitcoin-based coins have GBT, which the pool uses to make work available for miners. There are some rare coin/miner combos where GBT can be used directly with miners. Whatever the equivalent of GBT is in Cryptonote coins, that should be a valid alternative for enabling solo mining.

Alternatively, a proxy could be developed to work between the daemon and current miners -- basically a simplified version of pools, without all the databases and accounting.

daemon problem on http://54.153.36.187:8080

Code:
2016-Sep-25 10:20:14.982614 [P2P5]ERROR /home/ubuntu/aeon/contrib/epee/include/net/abstract_tcp_server2.inl:307 send que size is more than ABSTRACT_SERVER_SEND_QUE_MAX_COUNT(100), shutting down connection
2016-Sep-25 10:20:14.982728 [P2P5]ERROR /home/ubuntu/aeon/contrib/epee/include/net/levin_protocol_handler_async.h:638 [148.251.51.113:7080 OUT]Failed to do_send()

i'm working on it to restart asap.

my apologies for the incident, it's something like 7 hours of loss...
i'll keep you posted.

[edit] i'm starting to see what happened, the pool was overworked...
like nodejs was unable to manage all the connections (and the server is too weak)
Code:
(Thread 1) Socket error from undefined {"code":"EPIPE","errno":"EPIPE","syscall":"write"}
Code:
(Thread 1) Error polling getblocktemplate {"code":"EMFILE","errno":"EMFILE","syscall":"connect"}
I try to restart the pool properly but it takes a few hours again.

pool restarted, we'll see how things go.
tomorrow i'll inspect the logs more accurately
in the wait, don't put too much hashrate on it. i don't know if failure can occur again...  Huh
i plan to use the pool's fee to compensate miner partially for loss of shares. but i need to estimate the loss first (i saved the log)
once again, i'm truly sorry for the waste of miner's work.

Shares are correctly recorded.
unfortunately, pool's wallet need to be refresh from scratch (payments rejected by daemon, wrong inputs/outputs inside the pool's wallet because i tried to use pruning)
i have no access to the pool until 17h GMT so payments will be resumed only after.

There's also another pool, that has been mentioned a couple of weeks ago and doesn't really get that much of attention: http://aeon.kryptopool.com/
Not trying to shoo away miners from your pool to the other one Arux, but if the problem was overworking, it might be beneficial for you as well Smiley

Smooth, can you add it to the first post of this thread and to the sidebar of the subreddit?

according to this: https://github.com/wolf9466/wolf-xmr-miner/issues/5
a newer build must solve the problem. try one of these https://github.com/Arux-BTT/wolf-aeon-miner/releases

i analyzed my pool's log and i found stats of the first seven hours following the failure (total failure was ~18h but i turned off the core at the seventh hour, no record after)
fourteen miners were impacted. the table below shows the "weight" of each miner.
1% mean that you sent 1% of the registered shares during the first seven hours of the dowtime.
i decided to spend 500 aeon from pool's fee to compensate partially the waste of miner's work. the 500 aeon are prorated based on your "weight"

no worries, spread the hashrate is beneficial to the network. i don't focus on profit, however my pool is helpful to guard knowledge. So i'm able to assist other menbers.

My hashrate is all around better for |GPU and CPU but I am now getting the low difficulty shares issue.  I am going to experiment with some different drivers but originally I have been experiencing more and more issues with Mining lately and I'm wondering if something has gone wrong with my GPU - will have to see. Even the older version of AEON GPU miner worked for me - however Now I am getting tons of invalid shares etc/

This is what happened to me as well. I have been trying to get my RX480 mining but never could. When i had switches to the older miner it gave the same problem. Had to remove the driver and installed the older 15.12. That fixed being able to mine with the oldercards Nd miner

Still no luck for me - 15.12 or 15.11 no dice . New drivers - no luck. I was mining fine for weeks then all of a sudden I start getting junk shares like a madman.

Oh well will just have to put my hash elsewhere until I or someone else finds a fix.
