I think XMR will be #2 on that filter non mineable and premined list in 2 years. That filter should also filter Dash. So actually XMR is #4 currently.

Yes... why on earth does that filter NOT include dash?

/sarcasm

Because it was an accidental instamine that was properly distributed via the markets after it happened

I normally do not like the bitcoin bashing which became so common in this thread but this is probably interesting:

http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/323zha/new_jersey_wants_to_tax_bitcoin_transactions/

being untraceable is serious business for a currency

I'm not a fan of the Bitcoin bashing either and believe that Bitcoin could grow into a fantastic currency.

However...

The Bitcoin developers will not add anonymous functionality into Bitcoin, instead only offering side chains.
I have a problem with this and is one of the reasons I am interested in Monero.

I feel that the ideal digital cash/store of value needs to be private. I equate privacy with freedom, and forced transparency as prison.

If they know everything about you, it just means they can control you even more.

It disappointed me that Bitcoin will never be anonymous not because of any real technical reason, but because of politics.

They want Bitcoin to be open as any move to make it anonymous would in fact harm its legitimacy, or so they say...

and bytecoin, what is wrong with coinmarketcap.

If you see a fraud and don't shout fraud...

Monero's privacy and therefore fungibility are MUCH stronger than Bitcoin's.
This makes Monero a better candidate to deserve the term "digital cash".

If they can put paycoin....

Polo why you no let me buy??!

Keeps crashing my phone lol
Oh well, up is a good direction, regardless.
If poloniex is slow on your phone it may help to set the chart to 6h. The script has to do a lot more work to show the chart at say "All" and it may freeze.

I don't get why people care about coinmarketcap? It's pretty useless imo.

But you can always ask him? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=199685.0

I like that Gliss took HitBTC off the site as an exchange. It has affected the volume for Bytecoin and should help noobs to not touch it.

EDIT: to make this post more about Monero speculation, does anyone think removing Hitbtc's volume from Monero on Coinmarketcap will impact us negatively?

Maybe a little (makes us looks even more concentrated on Poloniex) but I'm still happy to see the cryptocurrency reporting scene cleaned up a bit.

Horrible decision on their part. In fact they originally tagged BCN as premined (as it obviously was) but removed it when the BCN shills complained.

I'm not sure what their infrastructure is built on, or what is the reason they pick up which coin is included, but they left out a lot of alts out of there. Maybe it's based on to what is traded on specific "big" exchanges... Who knows?

Chaos could be a form of intelligence we cannot yet understand its complexity.

It's the most obvious parameter they can grab to compare different challenging coins, especially for non-techie users. In their view, a coin with a market cap of 10 mln must be two times better than a coin with a market cap of 5 mln. They don't care about features and future prospects a coin have.

I don't get why people care about coinmarketcap? It's pretty useless imo.

Not going to lie. That was my purchase that broke that trend line. Grin There were a couple of other people who came in right after me to make the candlestick more exagerated, but i was the one who bought enough to push it above the trend line initially, they just pushed it further above the trend line. I wanted some more monero sure, but i also saw the opportunity to potentially light a fuse. Sort of like akido, i thought that by breaking that trend I could potentially apply a very small amount of pressure in a way that could have a leveraged effect.

If one can not confer upon another a right which he does not himself first possess, by what means does the state derive the right to engage in behaviors from which the public is prohibited?
