“The five attackers, aged 16 to 24, were quickly arrested and the three oldest have been remanded to appear in court in September, while two girls aged 16 and 17 face further questioning. The authorities have not named them but said that they all came from housing estates with large Muslim populations.

“It is not yet clear whether their unnamed 21-year-old victim was of French or north African origin. She was sunbathing with two friends in the Parc Léo Lagrange in Reims on Wednesday when one of the women verbally abused her for “immorally” exposing so much flesh in a public place. When she shouted back, the other girls and young women crowded around and slapped and punched her, police said. Passers-by intervened, and the victim was badly bruised rather than seriously hurt.

“Police told L’Union newspaper that the victim was not able to say whether or not her assailants were motivated by “religious opinions”.”

Women in France and some from around the world joined in the online push-back against self-appointed Muslim ‘morality police’ in the historic city of Reims.

DHAKA – A blogger was hacked to death in Bangladesh on Friday, the fourth killing of an online critic of religious extremism in the Muslim-majority country in less than six months.

Niloy Chatterjee, 40, a blogger who advocated secularism, was killed in his flat in the capital, Dhaka, said police official Mustafizur Rahman.

In his writing, Chowdhury had demanded capital punishment for Islamist leaders convicted of war crimes during Bangladesh’s war of independence in 1971.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina opened an inquiry into war crimes in 2010.

A tribunal has since convicted several senior leaders of an Islamist party, who in 1971 opposed the breakaway of Bangladesh, then known as East Pakistan, from Pakistan, of various crimes.

They denied wrongdoing.

Militants have targeted secularist writers in Bangladesh in recent years, while the government has tried to crack down on hardline Islamist groups seeking to make the South Asian nation of 160 million a sharia-based state.

In February, machete-wielding assailants hacked to death a US citizen of Bangladeshi origin and critic of religious militancy, Avijit Roy, and seriously injured his wife and fellow blogger, Rafida Bonya Ahmed.

The father of a 20-year-old girl let his daughter drown at a beach in Dubai rather than have her saved by ‘strange’ men of a rescue team, reported Emirates 24|7.

The man, said to be Asian, had taken his family to the beach when his daughter began to drown and screamed for help. However, when rescuers rushed to help, her father stopped them which led to the girl’s death.

Deputy Director of Dubai Police’s Search and Rescue Department Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Burqibah said it was an incident he would never forget. “The father took his wife and kids to the beach for picnic and fun. The kids were swimming in the beach when suddenly, the 20-year-old girl started drowning and screaming for help. Two rescue men were at the beach, and they rushed to help the girl. However, there was one obstacle which prevented them from reaching the girl and helping her. This obstacle was the belief of this man who considered that if these men touched his daughter, then this would dishonour her. It cost him the life of his daughter.”

Let's explore the facts a bit and see where they lead.

1.  The girl was screaming for help.  She wasn't screaming for life without dishonour.  It's reasonable to assume that she wanted to live, even if she was "dishonoured."
2.  The two rescue men did not do their job and save her as she indicated.  Instead they listened to her dad.
3.  Nobody else there ventured out to save the girl.
4.  Nobody questioned #1, #2, or #3.
5.  No discussion of firing the two "rescue men."

I think the man should be pushed out into water deeper than he can stand in, and a dozen adulteresses who were good swimmers lined up on shore.  He could then beg to be saved by them, or he could just decide to drown rather than be touched by them.

Anyway, are all these people fucking morons?  They don't even have a six foot rope they could toss to the girl?  Everywhere I've been there was equipment like that, because a person drowning can easily pull the rescuer down too, being frantic and clutching to them.  Which just brings up another issue - the rescuers go out, then the girl grabs them to be saved.  Who is dishonored, then?  The rescuers? 

Someone should weigh in that has some serious knowledge of the Koran, but I think I could find support for saving the girl regardless of the wishes of Mr. CrazyDad in about four seconds in that musty old book.

When we see people prospering in life such as academics and jobs we Alhamdulillah ( Praise be to God ) and Allahu Akbar..
