1021  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Risk management on: June 10, 2023, 12:49:44 PM
Don't risk too much money, start with what you can afford to risk. Focus on the risk not rewards.
Yes I also think we don't need to risk much money in the first place. We should take less risk than we can afford. Because the risk of excess money can bring bad things for you. And those of us who think that we can make profit only by trading, thinking about the amount of money we have and managing some more money, should be careful because trading will never guarantee you profit.
We can't eliminate risk in trading, that was the reality. If we plan to go trading, make sure that we are preferred to face huge risks. I was thinking about this saying "Huge risk = huge rewards" but it was too opposite from what we want instead, we are looking for Less Risk but huge rewards. That is why only a few people succeed in trading as they can't accept the challenge and manage to handle stress. As we can see, many traders quit and become holders, but that was a good escape rather than leaving crypto forever.
1022  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers understood the game on: June 10, 2023, 10:02:04 AM
How many times have you successfully invited some gamblers to online casino? What is your experience doing so? I know many will find this hard to believe but I kinda prefer bringing in gamblers than investors into crypto, why? They understood the risk already, there is no talk and talk over again, there is no dealing with someone fear and confidence..
~snip~
Well I also feel the same way it is better that they know the risk than to keep on dreaming that crypto is a way to be an instant millionaire.
Most of the time when I am talking to newbie's in crypto they would just think that this is an easy way out, without understanding or acknowleding the risk due to the successful stories that they heard or read online.
It's because crypto has been kind of a trend when it comes to their ears, for them, we're not doing some ordinary stuff like investing/trading stocks because they always say that crypto is very much different (which is true in some sense). And when it will come to that point, it will be a waste of time if I will still continue the discussion because they just don't understand everything I'm trying to say as they just only believe what they wanted to believe.
because those newcomers have an instant mindset when they hear about crypto or investment and out there newcomers judge that crypto is very profitable in a fast way without thinking about the big risks they have to accept. so it is very natural to choose to bring in gamblers rather than investors who think too much about profits without thinking about losses which in the end all feel a loss and very different from gamblers who already know that gambling using crypto has a risk of losing.
Then, that kind of thinking brought them to losing ends. But why some people choose to gamble instead of being an investors because they'll thinking that if they become lucky in gambling, instant millionaire they could be. With a huge reward and jackpot prize, it turns their eye on it and hoping to get it one day. But absolutely doesn't work that easy and the more we chase our luck, the more we lose. It is important that gamblers must know their chances and must be aware of their situation.
1023  Economy / Gambling / Re: is KYC data on Gambling sites safe? on: June 10, 2023, 07:38:01 AM
What i check first before is decide whether or not to olay on any site to see if the casino is reputable enough to handle my KYC data and keep them private, even though we can guarantee that but we can at least be careful about the kind of casino we lodge our details on as long as it not safe then not need to play there.
That's why we have to check every casino we find so we can select it and add it to our personal list. The casino has given the rules for doing KYC and if it is a trusted casino, we can be calm about doing KYC at the casino because they will try to take good care of it.

But if it's a new site asking all its newly joined members to KYC immediately, we can skip that first. Later, after we can find reviews about the casino and it turns out that the casino is one of the people's recommendations, we can consider joining or skipping it.

By doing KYC at a trusted casino, we don't need to worry. But we must still be careful about sending personal documents and checking them first.
Generally, it is on our side how to determine if that site can be trusted to keep our personal data safe, otherwise, skip it.
So many casinos are existing these days and not all have the kind of security that we look for that is why thorough research is vital and so when asking for KYC. Definitely, will be asking ourselves"IF I have to do it or NOT" because trust doesn't just easy to create when doubts are in our mind. KYC is easy when we are sure that we are handling it over to the people/casino that assures safety on it.
1024  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People are giving too much importance to exchanges on: June 10, 2023, 06:29:32 AM
6 months ago, my savings went down because of the FTX debacle. I've never used FTX, I've never been a customer of this company, but my savings are in BTC, and because of that failure, BTC's value went down, and so went my savings.

Today, bis repetita. I've never used Binance. I've never been a customer of this company, but because the SEC sues Binance, BTC is down, and so are my savings, so I have a message to all bitcoiners out there.

Exchanges and BTC are 2 different things. One exchange going down doesn't mean BTC must follow.
Binance will disappear? I don't give a damn.
There are many people who believe in Bitcoin and exchange it using centralized exchanges to keep their assets safe as they think it is best. If a person thinks like this then it is not at all beneficial to protect his wealth. But I think a bitcoiner will never do such a stupid thing to keep his exchange assets safe, rather he will have different security wallets.

I understand why some people are preferred to keep their Bitcoins in an exchange wallet and that is for trading, not for holding. But these people know what will happen when an exchange got scammed or whatever, yet they still do it despite the risk because of their trust. It could be a manipulating power that most exchanges injected into the mind of the holders. We know it was wrong but can't change their stances as well as it was their choice. They will change their minds when experiencing losses of their funds from exchanges.
1025  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Government's actions against crypto on: June 10, 2023, 05:43:47 AM
This is a very tense situation for the crypto industry and its supporters. I hope the US government will be reasonable and fair in regulating this new technology, and not stifle innovation and freedom.
indeed there will always be a dilemma when the government intervenes too much in the crypto industry if previously it has provided freedom. although maybe this could be for the government's goal of getting something it wants but has not yet fulfilled, by wanting to regulate all these technological developments, it is certain that excessive intervention will result in resistance which can also be detrimental.
I think they don't want to intervene in the growth of the crypto industry but for them is to control it so they can generate income from every holder and investor. But they fail to do it (maybe for now) but their battle continues until they'll get what they wanted to happen. Gonna expect the worse? that seems impossible of they are desperate enough to use their power in order for the community to agree with it.

In fact, they are implementing strict rules and regulations in some countries and we already see some people suffering KYC mandatory.
1026  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: One or more trading strategies, which one do you prefer? on: June 10, 2023, 05:01:38 AM
In the case of trading, everyone adopts different strategies, but if everyone adopts different strategies in the case of trading, then everyone follows the rules of trading in the same way. In trading we should apply every strategy no matter how easy we think it is. If I trade with a complete understanding of trading or understanding of the market, and no matter how many strategies I use in that training, I will never be successful. In the case of trading, the minimum concept of trading is also very important which every trader needs to have. If a trader wants to adopt another trader's strategy then the chances of success in that strategy are very low.
I stop using copy trading because it was not effective on me which is why people, though there will be using common strategies, the results are different as it varies in decision making. Trading just not only requires knowledge and skill but also how good you are in decision-making. Because many people had lost their confidence and were doubtful about their actions as they are sure how to respond to the market changes. That is why having our own way for trading gives us a way to improve confidence and leads to success.
1027  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how to get over it on: June 09, 2023, 10:58:00 PM
How many times that you've got that situation OP? Because for sure you've changed when you got lost $100k while the next mistake is not just normal.
Anyways, I don't easily believe that it works in gambling turning $1,000 to $100k but given such an example, a person who has no contentment will always lose in the end and this often happens in gambling while we are thinking luck is always on our side and we can win more today while disregarding the possibility that it turns our nightmares and big regrets.
1028  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Question about Infinite supply altcoins on: June 09, 2023, 09:58:14 PM
endless supply, as you say. In other words, it means a crypto currency that has no end and will constantly increase as it increases in the market. In general, all products gain value as they are limited. How valuable can something that is in continuous production be because its circulation will never stop? After a while, it will fall even lower than the prices you bought, and eventually it will inevitably end up as garbage. I am in favor of not investing.
While it is true that a coin with an infinite supply will eventually see its price go to zero, it is important to remember that the supply of a coin is just one side of the coin, it is also important to remember the demand has a great influence on the price of an asset, so even if an asset had a very low supply if it does not have a use case then the demand for that coin will be on the low side and as such it will never become valuable, regardless of the claims the developers behind that coin could make.
Pretty simple, it was another dead project and the developers don't care about it as their intention is to scam people.
Because they'll know that some new investors are looking for cheap coins and they'll give the bait of showing it to them. But as we have enough market experience, we know what will happen next. This is what actually happen to me before, I bought cheap coins thinking it will grow during the bull season but unfortunately, that was a dumb decision as it never happen it grow, instead, it was delisted from the exchanges.

1029  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does anyone still stores their crypto in any exchange on: June 09, 2023, 09:36:37 PM
For trading purposes, I did but if considering it as a storage destination, no I don't. Just having $100-$200 kept on the exchanges seems to be acceptable and  I know some have it more for trading only. It was not suggested because of the risk involve and we know that exchanges won't be as responsible as they are for turning back your funds if there is something will happen to them that causes all of their funds lose which includes all deposits. That is why we should have to avoid it and anticipate such scenario before we regret it.
1030  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 09, 2023, 03:26:11 AM
At least on the schedule of title fights, Casimero have time to increase his ranks until next year to be able to be considered as one of the worthy opponent of an undisputed champion after Tapales and the winner of Fulton - Inoue fight which is somehow has a huge chance to be scheduled on Dec.

I am looking forward for Casimero to battle it out against the top contender of his weight division in order to make himself worthy of being the mandatory challenge of the undisputed champion next year.

Casimero is really good, but he has been hit by unfortunate circumstances in his life. He could have moved up when he was still a champion in the bantamweight division, but he did something stupid that led to the organization stripping him of his belt, which was then taken by Inoue with ease. Since I truly believe that Casimero deserves a chance to fight the best, I hope that the Inoue vs. Casimero fight will happen in the super bantamweight division.
1031  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bankroll management discussion on: June 09, 2023, 02:51:13 AM
I personally prefer using the smallest bet possible when I'm playing slots because that would allow me to have as many spins as possible since which will increase my chances of maybe hitting a big multiplier because it sometimes takes time.

What you're getting here is that if you stay longer in the game, you'll have more fun. However, if we base it on the real chances of winning, since slots have a house edge, that means the longer you gamble, the lower your chance of winning will become. It's pretty opposite to your expectation, though.
1032  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: what happened to the market today? on: June 08, 2023, 10:23:14 PM
The FUD was very intense and even if the market has recovered a little bit since then the binance coin is still down 15% during the last seven days, so it seems this is not only going to be a difficult week for the market but it would not surprise me if this was a tendency that would remain for the rest of the month, so I think the best thing we can do at the moment is to remain calm and watch the charts, and if at some point the price goes below the current support level then we need to think about buying as much bitcoin as we can.

SEC was rushing to release so many annoucements related to the crypto. It will be so hard for crypto to wake up again. Watching chart will be useless. Buying coins is also involving the more risk at this moment. It's very hard to think if market gonna recover again very soon.
The impact is going to the any crypto in the market.
Perhaps, you can never think of winning if you already have to think negatively. FUDS will never stay long as it passes away but if you make this a big deal and keep it on your mind, you eventually make yourself a loser. At some point, FUDs can be destructive but we can lessen its effectiveness if we ignore them. Because so many FUDs circulating and spreading on the internet which the government has been doing but look, the crypto market remains strong, only those doubtful investors and negative thinking are badly affected while real investors and holders remain calm and easy.
1033  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How important is it to keep your bitcoin investments secret from others ? on: June 08, 2023, 09:51:11 PM
Bitcoin investment should always be kept secret because here you can't sue it if any unforeseen event happens. And in today's civilized society there are many bad people who can be friendly to you and put you in danger. So to keep yourself safe always stay away from sharing anything you have with others. I do not disclose my investment to anyone other than myself. Because I know there are many bad people around me who can do me a lot of harm if they get the chance. That's why I always stay away from sharing my personal stuff with others.
People hate someone's life if they will see you growing and improving. Maybe not all but in my country, their crab mentality really exists and yeah,  they will ruin you and destroy you once seeing you improved. It is better to have all of our investments kept secret so no bitter people around you have a plan with that and even our family members could have an evil plan with that.

Of course, we can certainly talk about Bitcoin but never mention how much you invested in it as it will gain more interest, and wonder how this person can take that.
1034  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: June 08, 2023, 11:31:14 AM
Congratulations for the profit earned because the Denver players performed very impressively in the 3rd game, as predicted the 3rd game will return to the beginning where Denver was able to take this game very convincingly.
My betbuilder failed because I didn't expect that Jokic would appear even crazier by making 21 rebounds. Luckily, the live bet with Denver over 106.5 @ 1.87 was enough to attract profit for me.

Although it was a low-scoring game, it was impressive to see Denver dictate the tempo throughout. They had no trouble scoring in every quarter, and they surpassed the over 106.5 total points by scoring a total of 109 points. Their precision and dominance inside the paint played a significant role in securing the win. As for my profit, unfortunately, I had bet on the Heat, so it stands at "0".
1035  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: June 08, 2023, 11:08:09 AM

And again, our argument that Donaire is not getting old, might go against him if the fight is going to happen next year.

It's truly unfair for him. Other boxers have already been given the opportunity to fight, while he has to wait for another chance just to get back into action. It appears that they don't want to see Donaire become a champion again, as his presence could potentially jeopardize the opportunities for younger contenders if they opt for a unification fight.
1036  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New coin - PEPE on: June 07, 2023, 09:32:29 PM
I'd say there's no reason to be confused by the hype. Its use in meme coin alt coins is not new. Coins that have turned into scams are not unknown to us.  I would like to tell investors to be careful about these things. There is a lot of risk involved in investing these days. It's hard to say whether meme coins will be hyped in the future. Currently there are many criticisms about Pepe Coin. Despite knowing this I am willing to invest a small amount of money in PEPE Coins. I have no regrets even if my hard earned money is not returned
I think what you said is no longer something surprising because many meme coins have emerged because they are driven by hype, so it's no wonder that fraud will develop in the end. it seems that many investors already know this but not a few are still trying to speculate in it and certainly not something surprising. but for me, don't be too ambitious with meme coins, because the changes that occur are very fast and if you're not careful, the investment invested can disappear in an instant.
but all will be determined by the individual to determine it, as well as PEPE coin, whether you want to be an investor or not, let's judge for yourself so that you can be satisfied.
Not just because it was built with hype we are afraid to invest but because this project doesn't have a use case which obviously doesn't go far and it will dump after the hype. Now, getting wise in investing in a project, we should stay away from these kinds of projects and Pepe coin is an example. If we are investing in this today, we are taking huge risks, and much more if we are holding this thinking that it will be more bullish during the bull season because it is likely impossible.
1037  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: June 07, 2023, 01:51:21 PM
Ravena is back!

https://www.onesports.ph/pba/article/12503/look-who-s-back-kiefer-ravena-dons-nlex-colors

I was quite surprised, thinking he had returned for good. However, upon reading the article, I discovered that he was only here for training. Nevertheless, I have heard that there is a new rule in the PBA now that allows players who have already played abroad to still participate in the PBA. This is great news for those who choose to play overseas rather than joining the PBA as a professional.

Playing outside our country is very good decision as we all know that the salary is much bigger and also the opportunity you've got once you are in a broad game. And about Ravena returning here in the Philippines is quite surprise to us maybe there's a chance that this upcoming Fiba world cup he is the one who represent our country just my prediction.
For me about our abroad players will have a chance to play in PBA then the commissioners must allowed that because they are Filipinos so they must accept.

Nope, the Ravena brothers are greatly appreciated by coach Chot Reyes, but they are disliked by the fans. I think we need athletes who are bigger, stronger, and consistent to represent our country. This is not just a simple game; it's already on the FIBA world stage. Therefore, I believe that Ravena joined the team for training purposes only, specifically to improve his game in the B league.
1038  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: June 07, 2023, 01:13:31 PM

I want to see how the Denver Nuggets will adjust. The first lost at their home must have affected them and their confidence and now it's how they can recover from that and better it will be in a competitive environment at the Miami homecourt.
I expect Jokic to be a monster again. Adjustments will surely happen, Murray might get more aggressive, and they might go back at using Gordon under the rim to score some easy deuce.

It is certain that they will make significant adjustments after the disappointing loss in game 2. Let's see what they will do to counter the strategy of the Heat, which has made Jokic more of a scorer than a passer. According to the statistics, the Nuggets have more losses in games where Jokic scores 40+ points.

They will not be able to sustain that approach because if Jokic focuses more on scoring rather than facilitating, he will likely wear down, particularly in the fourth quarter. That's precisely why the Heat emerged victorious in the fourth quarter. Adjustments need to be made so that everyone on the Nuggets, especially the starters, can perform well. Special mention goes to Michael Porter Jr., who only scored 5 points in game 2.
1039  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do meme coins have a future? on: June 07, 2023, 09:54:09 AM

In the past few days, PEPE, a new meme coin, has gained massive attention in the community. But I actually didn't understand what could be its major objective. Is there any reason to say this meme coin will work for the betterment of the entire crypto and Web3 realm?

It has to understand that the market can be manipulated and what is happening these days is meme coins really making a huge noise in the market and yes, that gains more attention. But I was too skeptical about this situation, though I was amazed by such an impressive trend, yet figuring out how these projects will potentially stay like that after the hype, that something in big question now. Because I don't see a reason why I have to buy and hold them, as hyped projects don't stay long but sadly it drops drastically.
1040  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Josh Taylor vs Teofimo Lopez on: June 06, 2023, 02:25:37 PM
Back to the Teo Lopez fight, i'm now putting some money on Taylor ML @1.56, though I believed that he will KO Lopezbut  I won't underestimate the latter as he might still stand after the bell of round 12 sounded  Grin.

For sentimental favorites, I will go with Josh Taylor to shut down that big mouth of Teo and bring his ass back to the ground. Yes, I will also wanted to see him getting knockout for good or a complete domination with by Josh.

The 1.56 moneyline odds are quite low. I initially thought that Taylor would only be a slight favorite, but with those odds, it makes me question if Lopez is just hyping things up to gain attention, while in reality, he isn't as good. Well, Josh Taylor has already proven that he owns this division, so Lopez shouldn't make excuses if he fails in this attempt. Anyway, good luck, guys. I feel that a KO win by Taylor is more appealing, though risky at the same time.

Taylor by KO offers odds of 3.30, and there's a reason why it's high. Lopez has never been knocked out in his boxing career, so the likelihood of that happening is relatively low. Additionally, Taylor is not known as a knockout artist, with only 13 knockout wins out of 19 fights, resulting in a 68% knockout rate. Furthermore, his last knockout win was in 2020.
