We need to redefine what selling means. "Cashing out" or "taking profit" sounds too positive when what they are really doing is jumping back into a sinking boat called fiat.
slice a piece is a very small % under 2 % of your coins taking profit is maybe selling 5% of your coins. cashing out mean total sale of all coins the real question is what is between taking profit and cashing out. if you sell 50% of your coins it needs a name (stupid comes to mind) |

So perhaps limiting to 1,200 days allows for the data to load faster, yet there could be a time in which you might need to search back more than 1,200 days in order to for sure be able to get all of the top 100 days... even though it does not seem to be close to being the case that you would have any of the older than 1,200 days coming close to being in the top 100 days, currently.
I was also wondering if you might be getting sufficiently comfortable with this whole process in order to add back in some of the other dominant fiat currency pairs? or to see if you can get them working again.. even though the latest tables with Yefi had gotten narrowed down to ONLY the USD and Euro pairs as the ONLY two that were then working, but there is something kind of interesting to be able to see something like 5 different currency pairs if it were to be feasible to revive that angle of the top 100 days.
By the way, right now as I type, when I look at the raw data (so far for today), we are currently in the top spot for the vwap for today, so far, yet it cannot be known if such position would be maintained since maybe we (perhaps royal) should not count chickens too much before they hatch, especially since there are still more than 9 more hours before today closes. You're right again regarding the 2017 VWAPS, not being on that list. Regarding the multiple currencies, that might be a minute. All of the other bitcoinchart's.com drop down menu choices for other currencies have no data. Oh? Now, I see that too. I went to Yefi's old tables to see if there was anything that I could see linked, and yeah, you are correct, none of the other four prior currency pairs have data contained therein, and it seems that the current and the historical data is no longer on that site.. and also it seems that they don't have any data for other currency pairs, so that is too bad.... and, so the data would have to come from some other source, if there might be any service that is compiling that kind of data. I don't know of anything, so far, and maybe we all have to keep our eyes open if there might be another site compiling and/or keeping such data. Hopefully, bitcoincharts.com at least continue to keep the dollar/BTC pair data available, since so many of us get so many pleasures by watching this kinds of data... like I mentioned earlier, this traded volume data seems more accurate/reflective of the daily BTC/dollar trade activities rather than just looking at the high and the low prices for the day. yeah I love this data. I like to look at it and hope the 2021 numbers drop one by one replaced by 2024 numbers. we are streaking at 60k plus really nice. march 1-8 all above 60k. with feb 28 and 29 tagged on. |

To establish as a general category without exceptions that no campaign manager should be merit source and then give icopress 50 merits as often as you can I see it contradictory and even a bad use of the merit system. What is the reason why you are giving 50 merits every time you can? Because it should be for his quality posts. I could also read here that you are using your merit source status to not close the doors to icopress hiring you in the future because of the position you express here. Not only campaign managers can have a potential conflict of interest if they are appointed merit sources. Campaign participants, like you, do too. I will never use icopress as a signature manager because I am consistent about conflict of interest and would consider it a conflict of interest due to me giving him 50 and soon another 50 merits. maybe 140kwatts with no place to mine.
the good thing is zero debt and all paid off and some cash and coin in hand.

Meme coins should not be seen as a serious investment. They have greater volatility which can lead people to believe they are more profitable than holding Bitcoin, when they see Shiba, Doge, and Pepe pumping hundreds of percentage points. These pumps are short term and quickly disappear, leaving many users with significant losses.
Memecoins were some of the biggest losers after today’s price correction, most of them going down 20% or more. This effect is even more pronounced during bear markets when memecoins have bigger losses and lesser gains.
Using Dogecoin as an example because it is the most known and established memecoin, despite going up 104% against the USD over the past year, it is still down -27% against BTC over the same period.
Do not think short term about doge. Doge has true legs and will last a long time into the future. It is 16.9 cents and rising back. the Bitmain L7 is making solid money as I type. |

As we surge up through the $7xxxx range will retail fomo finally start to kick in? Love the updated format with historical dates. Let's see how fast we make this chart obsolete. if we are 88k at the ½ ing we will be full on fomo as miners will not have to take the hit they normally take at the 1/2 ings. we also would have no gear supply chain shortages. we may see the greatest year ever for gear going on line. I sold a tiny piece at 69.8k today I will be selling a very small piece at 70.7k and a small piece at 77.7k |

Many spots it sucks. As I illustrated it is okay in at least two USA states buy not every one.
As for subsidies many of what I call a subsidy is just fair treatment.
ie a straight 1 for 1 swap for your excess power is fairly fair.
Some states do that.
Yet some states are fuck you and just allow the power company to take all excess for no cost to them.
Solar and wind and waterfalls will not fix all power needs.
A working fusion reactor would solve energy issues for 1000's of years if we ever see one as many companies would be against it.

Fees would probably be lower in a bear market if there wasn't this blockchain spamming. Unfortunately I'm not so confident that ordinals spam will disappear with a bear market. Blockchain spammers are likely to produce a lot of noise for nothing (translate it to overly filled mempools) to rip off gullible victims. I got pessimistic as long as this massive blockchain spam isn't prevented by technical and/or protocol means. Some bubbles will burst over time, but spammers are creative as long as there's enough "loose" money to collect. I do not think on chain fees under 10 sats will happen very much anymore. This 2024 1/2 ing will be more like a 35-40% ing. not a 1/2 ing. as there are unstoppable methods large farms can do to make their profits higher. you can not stop a 30% pool from down clocking and slowing blocks to clog the mempool then once the mempool is clogged bump hash up to grab high fee blocks... We should see real evidence of this happening after this 1/2 ing |

I read a post from a long time member stating a possible conflict of interest but he did not provide a factual reason icopress should not me considered for merit source.
Yeah, and if it's the post I'm thinking of (which I responded to earlier), the argument was basically that merit sources shouldn't be managing sig campaigns. Sure, there could potentially be problems with that dual role depending on who the person is but I haven't seen any evidence presented that icopress in particular would take advantage of his position as merit source in some way, and a hypothetical argument like that just doesn't hold any water as far as this application is concerned. While we're all debating this crap, none of us know what's on Theymos's mind with respect to the merit system, how it's functioning nowadays, and whether new merit sources are needed. I don't even know when the last merit source was added, but it was probably a long time ago--and if it was recent it was probably to replace one or more sources that dropped out. It'd be so nice if Big Boss Man would descend from the mountaintop with his tablets and, if not drop some commandments on us, at least give the community a state-of-the-merit-system address. Curious minds like mine would love to know what's happening. I know some have said there are signature managers that are merit sources has it occurred to anyone when was the last signature manager appointed as a merit source or better yet that no signature manager ever became a merit soure. That the dual people were merit sources and asked to be a signature manager. Ie I am a merit source I want to be a signature manager does anyone want to hire me. Is this the way merit sources became signature managers. or are there signature managers that added merit source later. I know that there are supposed to be a few people with dual status . but I do not know if they are all source add signature manager. or signature manager add source. if none are signature manager add source then theymos is showing us something. So basically you need to be at the s19 xp level with under 6 cent power. at current price.
Is this moment of rise in the price of bitcoin an opportunity for miners to invest in their own energy production, such as solar or wind energy? Perhaps this could help reduce energy costs, and in turn make mining farms more profitable. as mikeywith says making your own energy can be costly. in the USA some states suck and some states are good. I am in NJ pretty good for solar. Pennsylvania is very good. You could do a 2 megawatt solar build (max size for discounts) on the cheap, but the cheap is a lot if lucky 2 million mostly financed with many incentives. what does that generate per hour around 400kwatts what is that in miners about 120 s19k pro units which is around two hundred k all in a 50k box so 250k in miner setup. and you need a site for the solar. in PA maybe 750k so 3million to run 120 x 120 = 14400 th at five cent after ½ ing that is 720 a day or 250k income for 3 million in loans that is around 8% return plus your incentives. So it is just good enough in a very good state like pennsylvania or new jersey. |
