1401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Ultimate Meme Coin is Here Sheep coin Launching soon on: May 15, 2023, 09:00:42 AM
Another useless garbage that was delivered to the forum. The creators of this miracle on their website even wrote the reason for the creation of this shitcoin. The rise of Pepe. It is stated on their home page (not direct text). Such projects should never be considered for investment, because they appear purely on the excitement of a project and try to attract at least part of the audience while memcoin is extremely relevant. Such projects, as a rule, die very quickly. Don't think that this is a new Pepe, because Pepe grew for a reason, and Pepe did not offer anything or advertise anywhere, it just appeared out of nowhere and immediately began to grow. If some memcoin behaves differently, then it will never repeat the fate of the one it is trying to copy or imitate. Remember this.
1402  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New trend PEPE ? Seems many projects Launching with PEPE Names. on: May 15, 2023, 08:26:00 AM
Have you observed the significant number of project launches featuring the name "PEPE"? If you check the recently added list on CoinMarketCap, you'll notice that approximately 90% of the project names include "pepe." Lately, meme coins have been experiencing a remarkable surge in market capitalization. What are your thoughts on meme coins and the prevailing trend of pepe-related projects? Personally, I wasn't initially a fan of meme coins, but it appears that they have gained considerable hype. I'm curious to know your opinion on meme coins as well. Have you invested in any of them?

I ran across various DEXs and counted about 40 tokens containing the word PEPE or PEP. Most of these coins have capitalizations ranging from $10,000 to a few hundred thousand dollars. Usually such coins grow on the first day after listing, then the graph tends down to infinity. Such coins have no bottom and they are created every day in order to get a piece of hype on the loud name and earn on naive hamsters.
1403  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Circulating supply matters to you? on: May 15, 2023, 07:26:20 AM
Circulating supply does matter to some extent when I'm considering investing in a project, but it's not the only factor. A fair percentage of the max supply in circulation really depends on the project, its stage of development, and its overall potential. If a project has high supply coin, then likely the value of each coin would be very less. If the supply goes high all of the sudden, this will indeed crash the price of the coin. If a coin has very low supply, it might raise some concerns, because very likely the developers are using the low supply to manipulate the market.  The main thins is, you should dig deeper into the project's tokenomics, roadmap, and see how the team plans to distribute the coins in the market. If the project has a killer usecase, I doubt supply would  be an issue.

Right, it's also worth paying attention to the distribution of supply among categories of investors. If the developers and main investors hold the bulk of the supply, then such a coin can easily make a dump, especially if the timing of unlocking such coins is not that far from the listing date of that project on the exchange. If most of the coins are blocked, however, it is worth calculating the FDV parameter to understand how much money the project will need to raise when the supply on the market increases.
1404  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Flokipepe #FPP on: May 15, 2023, 06:47:01 AM
Just another meme coin that's made maybe for just around 5 minutes through a dev that's selling a service about how they're quick in making altcoin of yours.

Another shitcoin that took the name of famous and expensive projects and is trying to make money on this nothing. I recently encountered a post on a forum that such memcoins can be created in less than a minute. No wonder that such coins grow like mushrooms after the rain. Their creators are so lazy that they pick up names for their projects from already existing ones Cheesy
1405  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you think Blur will overtake Opensea on: May 14, 2023, 07:16:43 PM
Opensea did nothing wrong and never scammed anyone and a legit place, and I still think that it will be considered the market leader when people lose all the hype for Blur, but just because they are legit, doesn't mean opensea never had any scammers in it, you could create NFT and sell it there today, and sell it for millions, and you could take it and leave and never follow up on the project, opensea can't do anything about it. They are not responsible for that, and people would still blame them.

OpenSea supported large-scale wash trading, organized insider trading, and 80% of the NFTs that were added to the platform's listing turned out to be scam, plagiarized, or stolen projects. It would be too naive to believe that OpenSea did not use any of these schemes for personal enrichment. It is just as naive as to believe that bank owners are not scamming anyone and are running their business completely honestly, just like cryptocurrency exchanges. Cryptocurrencies are an ideal place for all kinds of financial schemes, and when someone owns the largest marketplace, where hundreds of millions of dollars are circulating, he will certainly use it for his own selfish purposes, as one of the managers of this marketplace did.
1406  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investor lose billionaire opportunity -Damien Slash lost it over MEME coin SHIBA on: May 14, 2023, 06:51:53 PM
Every project is unique, and success is not guaranteed.

I cannot support this opinion because not every project is unique. A lot of projects in the crypto industry are copies of well-known projects and do not add anything new to the already existing concept. Simply put, they are clones, and in some cases they are clones of clones. Such projects on the market in the majority. The most quantity of clones accounts for ETH and BTC, as they are the most popular coins, there is always a hype around them. As you know, where there is a hype, there always appear a lot of clones.
1407  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: USDC is not safe on: May 14, 2023, 06:14:18 PM
However, look at how the other known stablecoins behaved compared to USDT. USDT performed better than other coins during the market crash of 2022 and during the de-peg of USDC in 2023. No matter how they bury it, it shows in practice that it is the best, even better than DAI, which has been a complete disappointment this year. USDT proves once again that it is much more reliable than other stablecoins, no matter what great models they have for securing their reserves.

I'm curious to know how USDT managed to retain its peg even during the US banking crisis in March. Maybe it's because the issuer of the stablecoin has USD reserves on muliple banks spread throughout the world? Or maybe it's artificially "pumping" USDT's market price to keep it at $1? Whatever the issuing company is doing will be revealed in the long run. If USDT remains valued at $1 forever, then I don't see why you should avoid it in the first place.

Like it or not, regulations are coming in. Let's see if Tether will ultimately comply, or fall behind in the dust as other stablecoins take the lead. Just my opinion Smiley

I don't rule out the possibility that this price was drawn, that is, the peg was theoretical, and the rest was done by market makers to save the price from collapse. We know that most of the USDT reserves are scattered in all sorts of securities and indices, not in the fiat currency itself, so this may have some effect on similar events you mention as an example. I'm sure the big exchange players are behind the USDT price and they support the asset in every way they can as long as it benefits them in their trades.
1408  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Government's actions against crypto on: May 14, 2023, 05:52:21 PM
Mass adoption won't happen until regulators take over the entire industry and all supposedly decentralized protocols cooperate with regulators and governments. Until the entire industry is centralized, governments will not rest and will raid the industry, whether it's a service or cryptocurrency. A lot of decentralized and anonymous services have disappeared from the industry lately, some close down and then reopen, but with changed rules. KYC is becoming more and more embedded in the lives of crypto users.
I think regulators are already doing their work as much as they possibly could, and in most major nations there are regulations regarding exchanges and trading. Which means that you are capable of trading, maybe the usage needs some more regulations, because going to a restaurant and paying with crypto is still not fully regulated in some cases, in most nations at least and that could definitely be worked on and can be considered a bit better.

There is no limit to perfection, and there is no limit to the regulation of cryptocurrencies. I wouldn't be surprised if in the future regulation of cryptocurrencies will come to the point where every crypto address will have to have KYC of its sender and recipient attached to it. To many people this may seem like nonsense and that it all goes against the very idea of cryptocurrencies, but the regulators have their own opinion on this. Once again, they will cover themselves in the name of anti-money laundering and anti-corruption, and most will dutifully submit to it. Regulation is still quite young and not all cases are elaborated enough, so this is the very beginning of what awaits us in the crypto industry.
1409  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: POLYGON as a national currency. on: May 14, 2023, 05:18:32 PM
Yes, Matic is very good for transactions and very good for NFT, but I don't think it's the right asset to implement at the national level as a means of payment just because it has low fees. Matic has too short history on the market, it's an altcoin and it's not reliable enough. It is unlikely that any country will choose any altcoin, ignoring bitcoin.
We do not know as effective and how efficient is Polygon is used as a legal payment tool, even though he is fairly early, Altcoin Matic has a good reputation in the world of blockchain. It is quite risky to rely on polygon as an asset that is applied in a national scale, of course if indeed forced there must be a long experience first, so that the bad possibility cannot occur, and the most important thing is not to get disappointment that can kill the country or paralyze a country in its economy.
I also disagree if I ignore Bitcoin, but I am rather skeptical because I have enough coin matic. Grin

A good reputation in the community is not enough to make sure an asset is reliable. Terra also had a good reputation in the community and great liquidity until spring 2022, but something went wrong. In my opinion, the main requirement for accepting a cryptocurrency as a means of payment is the longevity of the asset, as well as the fact of how the asset has behaved throughout its life. So far, no altcoin, not even ETH, can demonstrate a better longevity than bitcoin.

In the L2 countries English words are not from origin but study in schools and for personal studies in the English Dictionaries. That is we know most words from secondary sources. So if I have not seen or heard about such words from my end should not be a term of "illiteracy". Learning is continues. I just tap my English Dictionary and saw the meaning of the words under discussion.

I'm very sorry, but you misunderstood me. I meant me, not you. I misspelled that sentence. I should have written, "Enlighten me, an illiterate." See, everybody makes mistakes, and so did I Wink So, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend you.

English? From which country that such old words are still used in this present days?

It's worth mentioning that SMF is a really old piece of software, dating back to the last century, or possibly around the turn of the new century, if my memory serves me right.  Wink

No, SMF was already created in the 21st century. If you scroll to the bottom of the forum page, you will see the dates. The year of the first version of SMF software is listed there. The first version of the software was released on December 2, 2006. There is an article on SMF on Wikipedia. You can read it here.
