what a shitshow.

Well said.

I remember listening to 1-hour talks about "blockchain technology", without a single mention of the word Bitcoin. What a joke! I remember conferences and events where the word Bitcoin was almost taboo.

Shitshow indeed.

They thought rain was God crying...
...and then it was explained, and even predicted.

They thought the Earth was flat...
...and then it was proven to be round, before spaceships could verify it.

They thought objects heavier than air could not fly...
...and then they did, and even went to the moon and beyond.

Some thought light was a wave...
Others thought it was a particle...
...and then it was found that light is BOTH a particle AND a wave...
...simultaneously!

They thought mathematics was complete...
...and then it was proven that it cannot be.

Don't assume that something is or isn't true,
just because it defies our current understanding.

New light shall illuminate the room,
and regions that are now dark and uncharted,
will soon take us to new heights,
and later they will become obvious truths,
used by fools to show off their "expertise",
while trying to sound like Charlie Manson.

Just like Newtonians, who tried to disprove Einstein,
while they were on the same side all along,
like different regions of the same room, both shining bright.

I don't know why I wrote this.
Maybe because I see too many rocks mixed with aliens,
and it saddens me.

Haha, brilliant. She’s on board now  Cool

If I had to choose I'd rather get nagged for not selling at the top than about selling your bag way waaay too early.

My advice is to NOT tell your GF/wife about how much BTC you have. Not easy, but you've got to try to keep it to yourself. Or, at least, be clear about who is in charge of said coins and who makes the decisions.

LFC's 2018 post is infuriating at best. He ruined their lives by not selling when it was $19,000? Really? What is she going to say when it's @ $50,000? Or $250,000? "Oh, you're so smart!" Yeah, thank you.

Love and flowers and romantic dinners are all nice and sweet, but when it comes to BTC, the key holder is the boss and total ruler of it, and no one should mess with his/her coins.

Sorry LFC, I just couldn't resist!

Grayscale have apparently bought another 17,000BTC in the last 7 days. The bull run is coming, boys.

The circulating supply is drying up, the price will reflect this in the next 18 months.

with all this buying, I really wonder who tf is selling all those bitcoin 45% under ATH price which was fkn almost 3 years ago. selling the best performing asset in the history of finance when it is on its way out of multiyear lows, one must be truly nuts. why tf did truly nuts folks buy it in the first place? just for trading? billions worth of coins only sold by traders? OG whales not patient enough to wait a few more months?
miners? miners that need to cover cost? but them mining only 900 btc a day, so... unlikely. scared retail? I don't think. why getting scared now, the time to get scared and panic sell was in March.

tinfoil hat therory: some entity (yeah- deep pocket banks or alike) bought a shitton of btc to dump it on every little sign of bull during this next potential run-up. because they know the next run-up is the last run-up.   Wink

well ok, not very likely. but who is selling?

mindrust sold 10 BTC on March.

17000 BTC / 10 BTC = 1700 full mindrust events.

I think it's quite possible for 1700 weak hands to exist, and be ready to sell because they read the latest Peter Schiff tweet, no?

Of course, said BTC really comes from a combination of sources, but I wouldn't rule out lots of small (single/low-double digits), weak fishlings which, when taken together, can amount to 1000s of BTC.

Let them sell. Selling also means that someone's buying, so all is good, it's just corn being shifted from the dumb to the smart.

Also worth mentioning is the ancient Greeks' methods of perspective correction when designing their monuments. It's amazing that such methods were used at that period of time. It screams "high-tech", even by today's standards!

Instead of haikus,
I see motherfucking rocks,
Solid, and with holes.

Aliens or not,
Whoever built those big rocks,
Knew something we don't.

It all seems crazy,
Like Grigori Perelman,
With his famous proof.

"All 3-manifolds,
Simply connected and closed,
Lead to a 3-sphere."

Henri stated it,
The crazy Russian proved it,
While picking mushrooms!

It all sounds coo-coo,
But not to everybody.
Seek, and ye shall find.

Gravity to rocks,
As hash power to Bitcoin,
Keeps fuckers away!

Seeing that WO is a little on the "rough & edgy" side lately, allow me to add a soothing note to the mix:

Leonard Cohen - Villanelle For Our Time

Let the gentle music soothe your soul, and the lyrics touch your heart.

— Goodbye, Leonard, and thanks for bringing us so much light, wisdom, and healing.

Dude, I think you're too kind/honest to be a politician, so it's all good, no need to worry.

But... Don't forget that we all put our letters in envelopes (even innocent letters to mum), we don't send them open so that the text can be read by anyone. Privacy doesn't necessarily mean illegal activity. Some things must be kept private, and I hate it when this privacy is violated.

I honestly say.... Listen happily to my dailey BS and view me walking naked, couldn't be less bothered.... Pffff they will shut down themselves if they saw my episode when I got my ass dumped  Roll Eyes

I hear ya!
The problem is elsewhere.

Today, you don't give a fuck. But what if in 20 years (for example's sake), you are someone incredibly rich and incredibly important.
They will use all that collected info - most likely against you. [highest bidder wins]

Maybe you don't know..... But you're writing with the most important man/occupant of this laptop i'm sitting behind, what are they gonna use against me.... I'm not afraid someone throwing my dick on the net  Roll Eyes Still if i'm a normal guy, not doing the most worst things, cheating when with someone or stealing or .... Then they can use what they like, its not that i'm gonna be the next president of the US even not the King of this little Belgium  Cheesy
I might or will be important for some, but still I have never been bothered with to much sh*t .......

Dude, I think you have a point, but CryptoTourist also has a point.

It's alright when we are unknown and insignificant to the public. Nobody cares if you or me did some kinky stuff in bed with our GFs. But just imagine running for some official position (I don't think I ever would, but talking generally), and those photos/videos are in the hands of your opponents, or enemies... That's how they control political leaders. They invite them to Epstein's island, and then they tell them what to do.

I guess Mr. Carpenter was way ahead of the times. Unreal.  Roll Eyes

I'm sure I must have watched (part of) this movie, but I just can't remember anything about it right now...

Already downloading downloaded the remastered version. Will watch it tonight.

I'm a big fan or Orwellian-type movies. Should watch Soylent Green one more time. Watched it 1st time when I was a little child (parents didn't care much about movie ratings), and it has affected me in certain ways...

Watched it last night. And no, I hadn't watched it before, not even part of it. Which is strange, given that I've watched a great many movies of this period...

Thought-provoking, albeit a bit cheesy and cliché at times. Very good for its time (1988). Reminded me of Soylent Green and Brazil (which I should watch again).

The fight between Nada & Frank was hilarious. Just wear the fucking glasses man! Damn!

Nada: "I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass... and I'm all out of bubblegum." Epic!

Good suggestion, thanks Karartma1.

@LFC:

Man, UK pubs were already closing far too early, compared to most other countries (last round @ 11:30pm IIRC)... Looks like COVID-19 sealed the deal! Now families can take their kids with them to the pub, and be back home in time for bed.

COVID-19 security? Never thought about it that way...

Yes, there will be dips.
Yes, there will be peaks.
Yes, there will be pumps.
Yes, there will be dumps.

Just Zoom OutTM, chill, and have a beer!

If you're scared about a dip, you need some HoDL training...

Don't give them your coins.

A rusty nut won't budge, and that's about the only good quality of a rusty nut.

HoDL.

We need to group fund a production run of Bob's patented Titanium Plate kit for the weak hands! Cheesy

Special Mindrust edition available for special order.

LOL, yeah, that could be a DeFi project. And titanium doesn't rust (i.e., a mindrust-proof product). This is big.

Sure man, I am like you on this. But, what I am seeing coming from the regulators is making me thinking (just have a look at V8's post up here). Maybe I am a bit naive but I don't want to become rich at the expense of my freedom, if you get what I mean.  Roll Eyes
I know I should elaborate more but I am confused.

I hear you man, I'm concerned too, that we'll end up filthy rich, but unable to enjoy our riches... No joke.

Better version: If you intend to sell it all when moon, sell only 90%!

The question is: sell it for what?

I have a 2nd house. A nice house. I got some offers to sell it. But then I thought, do I need the money? I don't. So, why sell it? To put some money in the bank "for the future"?

I've kept my 2nd house. Of course, there's the option to convert it to corn (I know I'm going to be crying when I read this post 5 years from now), but I still want to have a hedge against any "unforeseen extinction event".

Maybe sell 50% of your stash "when moon"? Or sell whatever you need to do certain things. And keep selling as your needs develop?

{...insert Morpheus/Neo meme here...}

Fiat savers REKT.

Bullish?

Wow, bonds & ISAs @ 0.01%? Who would put their wealth at the hands of a bank with such low rates?

I remember a long time ago I had an ISA which paid more than 5% interest. I was using it as a small second salary back then. Looks like we'll soon be paying banks to hold our own money.

Goodbye fiat, hello Bitcoin!

Every princess wants to be queen, but only a few are able to take all the responsibility to make it.
So, el_dude, move on to the next princess  Cool

When i look back, six months is a good timespan to identify most (essential) troubles in a (blooming) relationship. If you can give it a YES after six months, you can start to aim on the six years area, imho.

EDIT: Forgot to congratulate, AlcoHoDL

Thanks man, I appreciate it.

Very true what you're saying. 6 months is a good time frame to spot most troubles ahead.

Also important is to pass the "live together" test. It's all nice and sweet when you only meet to go out and have fun. Only when you live under the same roof will you know if you can really be together.

Anyways... I think The Dude is a ladies' man, so I'm pretty sure he won't have trouble getting another princess soon... If I had a daughter, I'd send her his way... Nice guy, coiner (most importantly), and a guaranteed life of luxury and pleasure... Wink  What more could a girl ask for?

Congratulations AlcoHoDL, well deserved. Smiley

Indeed, very well deserved.... In a very short period of writing more as before—-> merit followed like crazy :-)

The dude a little more off...... normal going home from holiday on Thursday, was in a paradise hotel @ravello, but went home on Sunday.... Women’s and troubles..... She wasn’t ready for a bitcoiner and perhaps she was the first one to complain that I bought to much things as for myself as for her etc.... learned a lot last six months...

On the other side that was a thing that made her looking good, she wasn’t there for the wrong stuff, on the other side maybe I’m happy as well it ended, but damn why on holiday (wasn’t with a fight or anything)

First actions, installed that tinder crap for the first time in my life and it’s working as it seems  Roll Eyes

Thanks Dude! Couldn't have done it without you guys ('n' gal).

Don't worry about GF... Usually it's better to break up sooner rather than later, as it complicates things if you try to make it work for too long...

Her loss. Almost feels like the Laszlo pizza story. LOL. I bet she'll message you in a couple of years...
