681  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor's 3rd-Party Support Portal was Hacked on: January 24, 2024, 07:28:59 PM
Protonmail provides privacy features such as creating alias, verifying the link before receiving, and better filters for messages, so purchasing the paid service and using alias for each service will provide you with a good solution.
Proton charges for using their alias feature, but I found one great alternative that can be used for free with some limitation, and you can pay to have more of them.
Anyone interested can contact me if they want ref link, but you don't have to buy anything Wink

Apart from lost packages, I'd go with creating a thread on their forum instead.
Or ask them directly in twitter, reddit and other places where they are active in providing some type of support.

If what Trezor said was true, you shouldn't get any unless you contacted customer support starting from December 2021 and up until a few days ago.
I never contacted customer support for any hardware wallet, and I am considering any email message I received as potential phishing attack.

I just got very suspicious mail from trezor.io
This is 100% a scam.
Report as spam and ignore.
Other scammers unrelated with this hack will try to use this situation and send emails to everyone.
682  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Is there any easy way to import coinomi wallet ,to Electrum?.? on: January 24, 2024, 07:06:46 PM
But since he saw me lose so much money in fees, after  I moved  imported mine from trustwallet and then had to transfer to  one of my main wallets now. He was just thinking maybe he could import his straight to electrum?.
You can move seed words to Electrum but it will only work for Bitcoin, and not for any other altcoins you had in Coinomi, for that you would need other multicoin wallets.

Fees for bitcoin are no so high right now around 30 sat/vB, but if you already hold them in hot wallet it's not a problem to import seed words.

If you want safer option for larger amount of bitcoin than you should use offline cold wallet with newly generated seed words.
683  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Tor Powered Microblog & Privacy Coin Exchange on: January 24, 2024, 06:50:35 PM
The Blackpage mobile app is a micro-blogging platform powered by The Onion Router (Tor) with support for privacy coins such as XMR, ZEC and more.
I don't like installing random mobile apps especially if they are not released with open source code.
Web version is already available without installation, so what is the difference compared to mobile app and can we register account with the app?

Is Bitcoin supported?

No but perhaps someday.
This is mistake not including bitcoin, and I am sure you would have more volume for swps that using zec and other altcoins.
Having said that, I don't understand why would swap exchange had to exist for micrblog platform in the first place.
684  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: zkBitcoin: zero-knowledge proof apps on Bitcoin on: January 24, 2024, 06:05:06 PM
We're looking for well-known ZK individuals to run nodes in order to maintain this service and have a large threshold parameter (the larger, the more nodes an attacker would need to compromise to compromise the L2).
So we only need to trust those people running the nodes, and hope that some or all of them are not bad actors?  Tongue
I appreciate you working on privacy built on top of bitcoin, but I was never a fan of ZK based setup unless it is trustless.

For now we're just running on testnet. As far as I know something like this didn't exist until today, so now you can use protocols like zkLogin or zkMail to lock your Bitcoin in zkapp and unlock them with a proof of login on Google or a proof that you received some email Smiley
No more g00gle please.

685  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CryptoAIDev, promoting Shady AI seed finder and scam Binance pump signals on: January 24, 2024, 04:37:46 PM
I noticed him and all his puppet accounts recently and I wrote about that in one of my topics for his shady AI Seed Phrase Finder:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5481116.0

I reported member sedinvore to moderators for ban evasion, but they didn't do anything about it, except deleting posts from other newbie accounts for creating fake conversation.
We know scam is not moderated in forum, but ban evasion is not allowed with any of his accounts.

Flags for both profiles that are still active
1. CryptoAIDev - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=3273
2. sedinvore - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=3274
Both flags supported.
686  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Aqua wallet - Bitcoin, Lightning, Liquid on: January 24, 2024, 12:38:22 PM
I am already using aqua wallet in my phone.
Good to hear that you started drinking some of the Aqua Liquid Wink
They are also working on desktop wallet, so keep an eye on that.
Also make sure not to keep all your fortune in Liquid assets, move BTC on-chain when fees are lower.

I will soon add L-BTC to bitcoindata.science  (in donations page and in the balance Checker tool).
Thanks!

Ledger Nano S model (the old one) supports liquid network, while new models doesn't
I knew that ledger nano s supports liquid, but I don't understand why would they remove support for other models, another strange decision from ledger team.  Tongue
Anyway, Jade hardware wallet would probably be better, and you can also use Green wallet and Specter desktop wallet for Liquid assets.
I was talking with Satochip team and they think adding L-BTC and L-USDT could be an interesting idea.

689  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: [ANN] Cypherock X1 - Hardware based Wallet Aggregator for your Crypto on: January 23, 2024, 07:54:30 PM
I understand your concern. Support for third party wallets are incoming for Eth with wallets like Frame.sh and Zerion. For Electrum, it will take some more time since we have to port our SDK from JS to Python and support PSBT with HWI. Message signing is also only available for Eth right now.
Let us know when you implement some important changes.
Instead of making Cypherock wallet compatible with Electrum, maybe it's going to be easier and faster to do it with other open source wallets like Sparrow and Specter.
This two wallets are already supporting most hardware wallets and signing devices available in the market, and they are open for cooperation with others:

690  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor's 3rd-Party Support Portal was Hacked on: January 23, 2024, 07:46:47 PM
I never received any phishing emails from fake trezor yet, but I learned my lesson with ledger.
Always use new email address or alias for each service, and always try to purchase something locally with cash and without writing any personal info, or use anonymous lockers for delivery.
I don't see any good reason to contact trezor support, unless there was a lost package, device stopped working or something similar.

This is one of the reasons why DIY devices like Krux and Seedsigner are getting more and more popularity, but you can get phishing attacks with anything.
I know a guy who recently received phishing viber message telling him that his ''package'' arrived and he needs to contact (fake) post office to pick it up.  Tongue
691  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [Searching] No KYC Trading Plattform like Kucoin on: January 23, 2024, 07:30:53 PM
now I try fixedfloat but 1% fees is too much, and I also don't understand when I exchange BTC why they charge 30 USD but I'm the one sending the BTC! ?
Are you asking for leverage or regular crypto trading?
You won't find any centralized exchange that is doing no-kyc fiat trading, but there are few more left with crypto only trading if you are willing to take the risk.
Poloniex, mexc, coinex and few others didn't have strict kyc last time I checked, but I see they also started to make changes because of new regulations.
There are good alternatives like PeachBitcoin, Bisq, Agoradesk, Exch, Robosats, etc. but do your own research.
692  Other / Meta / Re: A concise 2FA/TOTP implementation (SMF patch) on: January 23, 2024, 06:56:02 PM
I'm thinking of suggesting to theymos that 2FA resets should show up as their own thing (distinct from password resets) in the security log. The way I see this working is that password resets will only show up as such if the password is actually changed. If you go through the password-reset process only to reset your 2FA (that is, by "changing" your password to what it currently is, and selecting the "Disable 2FA" option), then that'll show up in the seclog as "2FA reset via email" rather than "password reset via email" (and, obviously, if you do both of those things at the same time, that is, actually change your password and disable an enabled 2FA setting, then both events will show up in the seclog). Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
I think this is a good idea, but it will add more complexity and I am not sure theymos will continue to poke around it unless this is something that urgently needs to be updated.

Let me ask you to clarify one thing if you can,
What happens with saved 2FA that is activated in profile, when someone activates email change?
Do we have to create and activate new 2FA or not?

694  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Other ways of keeping your privacy without using mixers on: January 23, 2024, 06:34:14 PM
Some of these other means to improve privacy are
Another way to sort of improve privacy with Bitcoin is by using Lightning Network and second layers solutions like Liquid Network that has confidential transactions.
This is not perfect privacy and you do have to peg-in and peg-out or swap back onchain at certain point, but it is much better for using with smaller transactions, especially when transaction fees are higher.
I am sure we are going to see more solutions like this in near future that are backed by bitcoin, and combining them with other tools will give much better results.
Good wallets supporting Liquid assets (L-BTC, L-USDT, etc) are Aqua wallet, Green wallet, Specter wallet and Jade HW.

695  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Coinbase block information on: January 23, 2024, 06:16:04 PM
Can you point me to explorers that have this information, without having to click on tabs or things like that?
Decoding hexadecimal transaction numbers can be used to identify what mining pool mined the bitcoin block.
Mempoo.space is best explorer for me and it should be showing all coinbase tags, for example you mentioned here all of them are easily found for SECPOOL:
https://mempool.space/mining/pool/secpool

I tried searching with blockchair explorer but it was not giving me correct results.

As promised Aqua wallet developers just released code as open source on their github page with latest update v0.1.19.
With new update there are some improvements, bug fixes and they finally added new dark theme mod.
You can download new Aqua wallet on github as apk, on g00gle and apple store, and F-droid release is coming soon.

699  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: [LIST] Multicoin Open Source Wallets on: January 22, 2024, 09:15:23 PM
I suggest you also add a source link for every wallet; for instance I cannot find the source code for Aqua wallet.
Sure, I will add it at later stages.
This is just something to get me started, since I planned to created this topic for a while,
however I am not going to add hardware wallets in this list (except if some of them adds support for L-BTC and liquid network).

That is because the wallet isn't open source (for now[1] apparently).
Correct.
They are cleaning the code and working on releasing it as open source with some improvements.

Side note but important. It's not just open Open Source but Open Source and Current.
Don't know what ''Current'' is.
I am adding open source and source available wallets in this list.
It is up to each user to check if wallet code is reproducible or not.
Aqua walet is bonus category since it's not technically a multicoin wallet Wink

As mobile wallet, there is Alphawallet, which is open source but it only supports EVM blockchains.
This does not my cup of tea, since it doesn't support Bitcoin BTC.

Aren't L-USDT and L-BTC the same as wBTC, in which Bitcoin is locked in exchange for tokens and therefore we consider it an altcoin? It is not always possible to guarantee 1:1 or am I wrong about it, I have no experience with Liquid assets Huh
No they are not, since you don't need any shitcoins for sending L-BTC and L-USDT, and everything is backed by bitcoin.
700  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Any means of combining multiple output into 1 ? on: January 22, 2024, 09:03:15 PM
If the price of Bitcoin dumps, shouldn't we get lower fees ?
Even if it goes up for a few more months or even years who knows, there's a point where we will get small tx fees.
sat/vB is important.
Dollar value for sats would get lower, but in most cases this big dumps would probably create a lot more transactions that would increase fees again.
Lowest fees for bitcoin are usually in times of low blockchain activity during bear markets with bunch of bad news.
This are ideal times for consolidation.
