1261  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Crosspass - a simple way to share passwords, encryption keys, banking info on: September 11, 2023, 10:48:40 PM
For testing purposes I installed Crosspass app and I was contacted by frisco2 for testing.
He sent me codes but I could not receive anything and all I got was some error message, that was later confirmed by developer.
I wanted to hire my developer friend for doing a review of Crosspass, but he is not so good with Swift and Kotlin.

One thing I know that Crosspass has bugs currently:

1262  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Foundation Passport Official Thread on: September 11, 2023, 10:40:10 PM
Just wanted to share a fantasticly thorough and well-written review of Passport that just dropped from a Bitcoin educational site called Athena Alpha:
Well written review, but not as good as review made by n0nce in bitcointalk forum a while ago Wink
I like what athena-alpha is doing with their rating system and comparisons for wallets and exchanges, but it can be a bit bias sometimes.

1263  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: my DIY Trezor One with bigger screen and USB-C on: September 11, 2023, 10:33:54 PM
The material type is nylon, but this is SLS (Selective Laser Sintering) printing, already available in gray color. I order it from a local supplier. I have a couple of printers, but in the end, it's more convenient for me to order the parts. For these small parts, it's very inexpensive.
OK, that explains it.
I know about nylon material for 3d printing but it was always most expensive option, so I didn't want to waste money with my projects Wink

I don't see changing the USB-micro connector to USB-C as feasible because USB-C connectors don't have the same footprint; they have many more pins, and you won't be able to fit it. Someone, built his own trezor one with USB-C modifing only this form the original PCB project: https://www.reddit.com/r/TREZOR/comments/ieb4vv/trezor_one_with_usbc/
How about usb-c to micro-usb adapters?
They are cheap and I need to buy one for charging something else, maybe I can test if it works with Trezor One.

Who is he? Can this guy be contacted?
If I remember correctly it was the guy from youtube channel Crypto Guide, I like watching his videos.
He tested many hardware wallets including Onekey and other DIY device, so you can probably contact him if you want.
I think this is the video I was talking about before:

1265  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcoin forum app store on: September 11, 2023, 10:14:34 PM
Hello! I want to develop a mobile application Bitcoin forum app store. What do you think?
I don't know what to think when I never saw how your app would work and look, but in theory this could be more interesting for young people who prefer to use mobile devices instead of computers.
Problem I have with any bitcointalk app like this is login system and data collection that could reduce privacy and potentially hack users.
We can talk more about this when I see first version of app released, until then it's all one big speculation.
1266  Other / Meta / Re: Trust Feature idea: give DT1 the ability to remove specific feedbacks from DT on: September 11, 2023, 10:01:08 PM
Here is an idea. What if we completely remove the negative trust (making it neutral) and use only flags for trust issues and trade risk?
I don't like the idea of removing negative trust and making it neutral.
As much as current DT system is broken at the moment we still need to have the option of giving any member positive, negative or neutral feedback.
If something needs to be removed I would than remove all feedback, but this opens another can of worms.

Ali znaš šta, imao sam super iskustva u Makedoniji, komplet druga nacija, no možda sam biased.

1268  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Usb Encryption on: September 09, 2023, 10:29:03 PM
For all those people, who do not trust the reliability of the USB, I am surprised that you people trust the piece of paper which can be damaged too, ink fade, torn or even stolen from the money safe.
I clearly said paper/metal and no I don't trust paper, I trust multiple backup copies with multisig setup in different locations.

Show me a piece of paper you own that has faded over time. I don't have any.
I had a bunch of old paper receipts that faded in just few years, so yes printed stuff can certainly fade and it probably all depends on quality of used materials.
Stainless Steel washers are much better option if you want to have longevity and better resistance to various conditions.
1269  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: alternative to coinomi (android) on: September 09, 2023, 10:23:41 PM
Any suggestions? I don't want to use trust wallet as it is owned by binance.
Don't use Trust wallet or any other similar closed source wallets, but don't expect to find perfect replacement for Coinomi wallet, especially not for mobile devices.

Best option I found so far is Unstoppable.money open source wallet, that has Tor support and support for Bitcoin and few shitcoins.
Another alternative you can try is Komodo Wallet (ex AtomicDEX) that can serve as wallet and atomic swap exchange.
There are few more wallets I tried but they are either in early stages of development or just bad so I won't mention them.
Safest option is probably hardware wallets like Bitbox, Trezor, Keystone, Onekey.
1270  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: my DIY Trezor One with bigger screen and USB-C on: September 09, 2023, 10:12:03 PM
I'd also like to know the filament type... I've never seen a 3D-printed material that looks like a fabric [it looks great].[/li][/list]
That is the reason why I asked also.
Most of the 3d printed itmes I saw looked different, and they used PETG, PLE or ABS fillaments.

Gigahawk did the latter in the past: Link
There are also relatively cheap microUSB-to-TypeC adapters and I wonder if they would work fine as well for Trezor.

Since our website features the best wallets for all blockchains and BTC is the major cryptocurrency with the biggest market cap, we would like to get feedback from the community.
You added hacked shitty Atomic wallet in your best 13 bitcoin wallets... this is probably one of the worst crypto recommendations I ever saw in 2023.  Roll Eyes
This article was written few days ago, so it's not outdated before Atomic hack happened.

Filesity - Sell Digital Files for Cryptocurrency - Instant Withdraw.
Is this your website or you are just sharing it here?

I see Filesity website is in BETA phase, it is registered recently, and they already claim 14k+ uploads, 57k+ sales, and $210k+ earned for sellers...   Roll Eyes
Sorry but I think this is false advertisement, and I wouldn't really trust this for anything serious.
I am not sure if this is a scam or not, but it does look suspicious to me on first look.

Is there some issue with the host? Unable to connect to the site right now.
Everything works fine on my end, but I would always suggest using onion link with Tor browser for better privacy, instead of clearnet.
Just make sure to use and bookmark eXch official onion link only.

What would you change or what would you add to it?
Your website is opening pages really slow for me, so I would definitely speed this up if possible.
Maybe you want to remove or add telegram link, because I am getting error page when I click Join our Telegram in top right corner.

I don't spend much time reading news everyday because it's mostly waste of time, so maybe I am not the best guy to give you good feedback.   Wink

When whirlwind came to the forum, their first contact was me. I was guiding them every pros and cons, assisting them to understand the benefit of advertising on the forum, guiding them in everything. They were ready to start the campaign.
Maybe it's not such a bad thing you didn't manage whirlwind campaign because jg would probably gave you another negative feedback, and I am sure he won't do that for any other manager for obvious reasons Wink

Just move on, ignore him, and know that you can't get all campaigns in forum, give some space to icopress and others  Wink

Do you guys (who have him in your trust list) really think a controversial user like JollyGood should be in the DT area?(Q2)
No I don't, because he is not using trust system correctly, but I don't really care about broken DT anymore.
1278  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: 40 Hardware Wallets, compared feature by feature on: September 07, 2023, 06:22:09 PM
Added new features to the software & hardware wallets comparison websites
I wrote my suggestion about adding Krux hardware wallet few months ago, but you probably missed it or forgot about it.
Krux is a good alternative for SeeSigner, and it can be used with QR codes as airgapped device, using M5StickV or Maix Amigo.

Since you started adding DIY devices, you can consider adding Krux wallet.
This project is smaller than SeedSigner or Specter, but it's very affordable and base device M5StickV looks very similar like Jade wallet and Maix Amigo is amazing.
You can find more information about Krux in my topic:

1279  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Crosspass - a simple way to share passwords, encryption keys, banking info on: September 07, 2023, 06:17:23 PM
The second. You only pay once a $1 for lifetime use. This way the app is free to receive and removes a potential friction on the recipient's side.
Can we pay this $1 with Bitcoin or only with fiat currencies?

Every time you post your bitcoin address, or email it, mass surveillance associates it with you and records how much money you have received. That's why ZCash went to so much trouble to hide the identity of the sender of crypto. By sharing a Bitcoin address via Crosspass, you become essentially anonymous. Watch a 5 minute Doodly video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NK-P_g6gKlI
Sorry but I don't like anything about Zcash  Tongue
If I had to receive Bitcoin address from someone and this guy told me that first I have to install new app on my phone, I would immediately think that this guy is a scammer.
I have seen way to many real life cases of people getting scammed like this with fake apps, so I would probably refuse to install anything.
There is a chance I would use something like this if Crosspass was integrated in some messenger used for private conversation.

Anyway, for testing purposes I installed Crosspass to see how everything works.
Is Crosspass using any servers, and what would happen if app or servers are down?
1280  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: my DIY Trezor One with bigger screen and USB-C on: September 07, 2023, 05:42:26 PM
it strikes me that the entire repository contains many things about Trezor and the Trezor models that are of no use to them, I think they should clean up and leave the repository elegant.
I don't expect much coming from OneKey, but if you didn't know they are currently most popular hardware wallet in China  Roll Eyes

Some pictures with a 3d printed enclosure, still has the small OLED; the front is adapted to the size of the small screen. I think it will look much better with the large one.
It looks very good!
What type of material you used for 3D printing, and when are you adding larger OLED?

Now I am wondering if bigger screen and usb-c port can be replaced and added on original Trezor One device.

PS
Maybe you should release your project on github when you finish everything.
There are a lot of DIY hardware wallet projects, but most of them are obsolete:
