1563  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: 37 Hardware Wallets, compared feature by feature on: July 15, 2023, 08:28:21 PM
Added to the website new info to see which hardware wallet is integrated with BlueWallet, Blockstream Green & Bitcoin Keeper.
How about adding new Keystone3 hardware wallet?
Waitlist is currently open and they will soon announce discounted price with more information.
If you have Coldcard Q1 and Bitkey on your list that are still not officially released, than I see no reason why Keystone3 should not be there.
1564  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Cypherock X1 - Shamir's Secret Sharing based Hardware wallet on: July 15, 2023, 08:22:34 PM
Thanks @dkbit98 for supporting this.
No problem, but I am not supporting anything, I just tried to help with answering a question you asked me in private about old ANN topic and inactive member Nmnsth Wink
Before asking any questions here everyone should also check the old topic.
That old topic should be locked now, and I reported it to moderators.

Cypherock X1 certainly have some interesting features, like ability to use it with multiple see phrases, and using multiple cards is not a bad idea compared to other hardware ewallets.
However, at this point I think Cypherock X1 is not fully ready to be used as main hardware wallet, unless you made some significant improvements from last time I checked.
Lack of support for Electrum and other third party wallets was one of the main deal breakers for me.

1565  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Keystone 3 HW coming soon! on: July 15, 2023, 08:04:13 PM
As mentioned in their agenda, some of Secure Elements information has been released.
This is really interesting update from Keystone that is going to use three secure elements in their new device Keystone 3.
Coldcard Q1 announced they will use two secure elements, but Keystone has gone step further with adding one more.
I have to update my topic on secure elements in hardware wallets, and I have exact chip models from keystone3, but one of them is only used for securing fingerprint data in Pro version.
That means that Keystone 3 regular version will have two secure elements.

New article revealed from images for Keystone3 and I think it looks much better and slicker than all previous Keystone models.
They also claim that battery life is improved and it will last much longer, but I hope replacement would stay easy, not like with most modern smartphones.
Very important thing I am waiting to see is the price of Keystone3, and anything between 100 to 200 USD is acceptable for me.
1566  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Foundation Devices 'Passport Batch 2' hardware wallet review on: July 15, 2023, 07:48:00 PM
I'm torn between this wallet, cold card and Jade.
Jade is lower class budget device that doesn't have secure element, so it's less secure than other two wallets you mentioned.
Coldcard is not open source anymore, but code base is very similar and Passport is based on it's old code.
If I had to pick from this three wallets I would always pick Passport.

Do they ship discreetly? And if I read correctly passports are shipped UPS with tracking. correct?
I think Passport can sell wallets for cash if you live in United States, or you can get them delivered to Amazon lockers I think.
Another option is to buy hardware wallets at some bitcoin conference, and maybe you will find some additional discount.
1567  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Square is considering making a hardware wallet for Bitcoin on: July 15, 2023, 07:44:10 PM
Hi all, I just published a pretty in-depth blog post about Bitkey. Would love any feedback.

http://zherbert.com/bitkey/
Great article on Bitkey aka Square aka Block wallet!

For me this is not a real hardware wallet and adding open source label won't change anything in my opinion.
I can't add more detailed review until I test actual device or read feedback from other security experts, but initially I don't like anything about Bitkey, except maybe it's octagonal shape.
Surveillance Nightmare is the right word from your article, and what else can we expect form billionaire who claims he supports bitcoin... remember what Elon Musk did with his Tesla stunt.
I don't trust Jack Dorsey and his products in same way like I don't trust anything coming from Elon Musk.
1568  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: [LIST] Wallets supporting Taproot on: July 15, 2023, 07:27:50 PM
Crypto.com announced a couple of days ago that their non-custodial wallets now fully support Taproot:
Thank you for suggestion but if crypto.com is custodial closed source wallet like I think it is, than I won't add it on my list right now.
Maybe in future I could add additional category for custodial wallets but I am not supporting them in any way, and for me they work more like centralized exchanges than like wallets.

I have just downloaded the Android Crypto.com DeFi wallet, which is definitely the lastest version. Version 1.62.0. It is not supporting bitcoin pay-to-taproot addresses yet.
Even more reasons for not adding crypto.com wallet.
1569  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Mixin Safe: A Convenient and Decentralized Multisig + MPC + Timelock solution on: July 14, 2023, 09:15:22 PM
To start using the product, you need Mixin Messenger, which is an MPC wallet,  to make the Mixin Safe account. And thank you so much for helping.
If I understand correctly this Mixing Messanger wallet is fork of Signal app, but is there any other way to register other than entering phone number.
I tried registering with one phone number and I received data error, I also don't want to share my number for this purpose, even if app claims it won't share it with anyone.

That indirectly means phone number could be shared privately with different companies, governments and/or individuals.

When I say this is more secure than a single hardware wallet, I mean hardware wallet is secure, but a single hardware wallet is easy to lose or broke, Mixin Safe uses hardware wallet, and try to eliminate single point of failure.
It's much easier and safer to use multisig setup and combine hardware wallet with another device or a wallet, than to download and install all Mixin stuff, and pay $100 or more every year.
1570  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mixin Safe (Decentralized Multisig + MPC + Timelock solution) review preperation on: July 14, 2023, 08:50:28 PM
There will be a review campaign for Mixing Safe in the next few days.
Is it Mixin Safe or Mxing Safe?  Wink
I am checking their website right now to see what is all about in next few days.
One thing I really don't like from start  is that I have to use my phone number to use Mixin app  Tongue

We will have a total 100 members in the review which means almost everyone who will apply will have a chance to get the reward.
All 100 members will receive 0.003 BTC, or only selected few of them, since you say they will have a chance, sounds more like some lucky draw?
1571  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: I think it's time to leave Binance, any alternatives? on: July 14, 2023, 08:28:58 PM
The funniest thing about your post is that you've picked out very little of what I said to try and invalidate what I'm saying, and still managed to fail miserably  Grin
Only in your little brain maybe, but you can think whatever you want.

They're P2P exchanges that are decentralized.
You can't name a single example.

I never called any of the exchanges I'm talking about top gun, so I don't know why you put that in quotes. I called them innovative, because in comparison to CEXs, they are innovative.
You used word TOP several times so don't pretend to be dumber than you are please.

I'm not promoting them, and you're not a mod, so kindly fuck off Smiley
There it is now, showing your true shit-face of an asshole  Tongue
Feel free to continue with personal insults, that is one thing shitcoiners are usually good at, and yes you are promoting shitcoins with your posts.

These tokens aren't claiming to be Bitcoin. They provide a peg to Bitcoin, so that you can use EVM capability/utility, as you can't do the same things with Bitcoin. They are not garbage, they are legitimate, they are liquid. That's factual, not opinion...the blockchain proves that.
Another shitcoin promotion that is not based on actual facts.

I run nodes for both lol. It's a little bit more difficult than BTC to setup, but not so much harder that it would create some sort of exclusivity barrier.
Yeah sure, you run nodes  Roll Eyes
I won't continue this oftopic conversation, so do don't expect me to answer anything on all of your future posts.
Adios.
1572  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How is sending bitcoin through a QR-code safe ? on: July 14, 2023, 08:05:57 PM
i was wondering if it's possible to change a QR-code the same way that the victim sends the btc to the scammer address ?
They started putting everything in QR codes, and I don't think this is always a good idea, but it can certainly be used for sending and receiving Bitcoin, or importing and exporting seed phrases.
One of the problems I have with QR codes is bunch of different encoding that can be closed sourced, and it often happens one QR code is not compatible with some devices and smartphones.
It's trivial for scammers to change and modify QR codes, but using airgapped wallets (Passport, Keystone, Coldcard, Krux SeedSigner, etc) reduces that risk a lot.
Using QR codes with hot wallets can be problematic because it's much harder to verify if something is modified or not, so it's good to confirm address additioanlly.
1573  Other / Archival / Re: Sinbad.io Mixer - secure, fast and easy to use on: July 14, 2023, 07:56:52 PM
dkbit98 tried that for us, I tried them later after his findings and I can confirm that it is inaccessible and was probably --as dkbit98 suggested-- put there only to confuse visitors and ultimately led them to use the fake clearnet.
Yes I did try it, and my conclusion could be wrong only in case if that onion address worked in past, or could possibly work in future, but it's highly unlikely.
I know how most scammers mind works and I think it's just bs address with few letter swap.
Like some people suggested before me, best protection against attacks like this is to bookmark Sinbad page, and all other pages you are using.
In last few years I realized most of the people don't use their brain at all (or very little), so it's possible for them to get scammed with this cheap tricks.

1574  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Whirlwind.money | ⚡No Fee⚡ | Ultimate Privacy | Anonymity Mining 12% APR🔥 on: July 14, 2023, 07:48:47 PM
That's going to be an interesting feature, really. I don't think there has ever been a crypto mixer that offered instant exchange integrated into the mixing process, to be honest.
Not that I know, but there are plenty of instant exchanges who are doing something similar and swapping Monero to Bitcoin and vice versa and I think one mixer is already using monero as advanced option for mixing Bitcoin.
I could even argue that some of this exchanges (they can be found on kycnot.me) exist longer and they are acting like mixers in this case, they don't charge high fees for this service so it won't be anything revolutionary if Whirlwind does this.
Even big centralized exchanged acted in similar way back in the days when they didn't have mandatory kyc for everyone.

1575  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Railgun Privacy wallet - Zero Knowledge Proof secured - Railway on: July 14, 2023, 04:05:51 PM
My understanding is that the Railgun contracts are open source and backed by a bug bounty. As to liquidity there's been about a quarter of a billion transacted through the various Railgun deployments on Ethereum, Polygon and BSC in the last year.
OK, show me the links to source code so I can investigate more.
When this question was asked I spent some time trying to find it but it was search without results.
Nobody should hide the source code if this is open source.

The smallest of those, Polygon, has about $500m of wBTC liquidity on Dexes, all of which is usable from within Railgun.
This is all fake liquidity, not true dex exchanges, and wbtc is NOT a real bitcoin.
1576  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: wBTC and BTC on: July 14, 2023, 04:01:40 PM
I have a question, I noticed that the wBTC moves in lockstep with the price of bitcoin, that is, if the price of bitcoin is $20.000, the price of wBTC is also $20.000, is there any possibility of a price difference?
Sure there is price difference sometimes and it can happen again in future, maybe in more drastic way when wBTC goes to zero on shitcoin chains.
Any token claiming to be better bitcoin with cheaper fees is not really Bitcoin, and all this tokens are on centralized chains operated and controlled only by few people.
There are already several lists of dead shitcoins and some of them were stable coins or fake bitcoins.
Stay away from wbtc and similar tokens.

1577  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: I think it's time to leave Binance, any alternatives? on: July 13, 2023, 12:29:48 PM
I could say the same thing as I never once mentioned that DEXs provided the ability to sell crypto for fiat. No dex does, because it can't be a DEX otherwise.
This is not true!
All decentralized exchanges I mentioned all have real volume, not like your ''top gun'' exchanges  Cheesy

The wrapped assets are not garbage if they're entirely liquid and made liquid in a decentralized manner.
They are all centralized garbage, and please STOP promoting shitcoin and shitcoin services in this forum section.
All tokens claiming to be Bitcoin are NOT bitcoin, that is a fact, but go ahead and use them if you want.

If you want to sell for fiat, use P2P. If you're still using CEXs for withdrawing, you're a pleb.
No, use your shitcoin exchanges for selling, you said they work with fiat, so use them if you can... don't mix P2P exchanges here.

If you honestly think all layer2/EVM ecosystems are controlled by few people and the protocols within them are fake, you are the one in the bubble. There are tens of thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands of contributors who are building web3 via EVMs.
Hahaha what a bunch of fantasy dreams.
Try running a node on those shitcoins, it's almost impossible to do it for regular person and I don't know a single person who runs shitereum and polyscam nodes.

Yes, I agree, no due diligence = likelihood of scam. Is that not the case in Bitcoin too?
No it's not.
1578  Local / Off-topic (Hrvatski) / Re: Kutak za kulturni trenutak (filmovi, serije, knjige etc) on: July 13, 2023, 12:20:34 PM
1579  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: I think it's time to leave Binance, any alternatives? on: July 13, 2023, 08:21:43 AM
LOL. Majority of the DEXs only support top 50 currencies, some just the top 10. If you're referring to wrapped tokens are shitcoins, they're completely liquid and bridgeable with no slippage from the layer 2 chain, to ethereum or even the Bitclin blockchain.
Either you can't read what I wrote or you are pretending you don't understand.
I am not interested in any wrap shit and I was talking mostly about fiat currencies.
Liquidity for most shitcoins is fake and everyone knows that, well maybe except you.

As for fiat on ramps, some of the DEXs do have card gateways because they are established technology companies. Obviously you're just being one sided with your outdated opinion and haven't actually looked into Arbitrum and how powerful it actually is...and, how liquid it is.
Go ahead and try to sell Bitcoin for fiat currencies on those ''top'' shitcoin exchanges, and tell me how it goes for you.
Good luck.

You may have been right to call WBTC and other tokens shitcoins 3 years ago when they first came about' however the liquidity of Arbitrum and the wrapped tokens in the Ethereum ecosystem are as liquid, if not more liquid, than some of the centralized exchanges that people still use.
It's all semi-scam shitcoins controlled by creator of that centralized chains, and few of his buddies.
This is a fact, sorry for bursting your dream bubble, and do more research about this.
1580  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I just completed my first totally air-gapped transaction... on: July 12, 2023, 08:07:58 PM
Are you proud of me?
Airgapped wallets are great but Coldcard is not the best option in the market today, and devices with camera plus qr codes are much better in my opinion.
This is Passport, Keystone, Jade and some DIY devices anyone can make at home (SeedSigner, Krux, etc).
There are also few closed source wallet options that are airgapped  but I am not going to recommend that to anyone.

If you are interested in topic of AirGapped wallets you can join the conversation here in one of my topics:
