1581  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My First Wallet. on: July 12, 2023, 07:54:33 PM
Although this wallet is not only focused on bitcoin because there are some features that I will not use and of course there are some disadvantages but I will use this wallet for storing my bitcoin assets at this time. But I will probably only use this for a while because I still want something else for my Hardware Wallet.
Sorry for saying this and I don't want to ruin your fun, but Safepal hardware wallet is probably one of the worst hardware wallets you could buy at the moment.
Safepal is closed source black box from China, they stole and altered and violated original source code, and they are doing the same thing like ledger walelt with restore feature, but it's even worse because they are storing it in cloud  Tongue
I wouldn't consider this to be safe device for anything and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, especially when there are much better Open Source alternatives.

In our coming update, we will support the iCloud/GoogleDrive key backup mechanism. If users lose their seed phrase, they can recover the wallet via their cloud-end back-ups.

1582  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: I think it's time to leave Binance, any alternatives? on: July 12, 2023, 07:42:14 PM
Arbitrum have a directory of Dex's on their website. I recommend you go check it out, give them a try and report back your results so others can take note of this alternative.
This is only available for shitcoins and they don't support fiat currencies, so this is more or less all worthless crap.

It looks like Binance is currently pushing Source of Wealth Declarations in several European countries.
I am not supporting Binance at all, but I don't think they are the first exchange who is doing this, so they are probably pushed by some regulations from those European countries.
This is unacceptable for anyone who want's to have more privacy, but I guess they wouldn't be on Binance after they announced strict kyc rules.
Luckily there are solid decentralized alternatives like Bisq, Peach Bitcoin, Robosats, Agora desk, etc. for exchanging Bitcoin to fiat and vice versa.
1583  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance existing Deposit Addresses to Be Retired in Q3 (July - September 2023) on: July 12, 2023, 07:24:13 PM
What is the main aim and benefit of changing users deposit address?
Is it for more security of the users fund or to prevent the address from being compromised?
I think Binance announced full support for Taproot address and Lightning Network support so that could be one of the reasons.
They still have old format Legacy addresses and they probably want to save on fees more with segwit and taproot, but regulations are also not excluded after they got banned in several countries.
1584  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: [free to join] My second contest : win a wonderful Bitbox from Shiftcrypto !!! on: July 12, 2023, 06:54:30 PM
Congrats to winner of Bitbox hardware wallet and Becassine for doing this giveaway Wink

It would be great to see genuine reviews and feedback from winner, that will help Bitbox a lot to improve their products.
1585  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Pregled Bitcointalk Signature-Ad kampanja on: July 12, 2023, 10:20:48 AM

We're going to make some pretty big changes to this campaign this week which will come into effect next week. I can't share all the details just yet but in short we'll remove the rank segments and just have one payrate across the board. Big changes to the current members will also take place but I will let you all know about it before next Tuesday. Hopefully these changes will have a positive impact overall and if you'll be one of the users who gets removed/replaced it's not anything personal, you've all been great during these 15 weeks!

@FatFork ažuriraj OP prvi post.  Cool
1586  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Atomic DEX discussion on: July 11, 2023, 08:53:12 PM
Anybody knows? Is it the "standard" SPV model where the client queries address balances and transactions from a server (e.g. using Bloom filters or the Electrum protocol), or is it some more modern stuff like BIP-157?
There is nothing modern with AtomicDEX wallet  Smiley
I think they used old legacy address format for Bitcoin (starting with 1) until recently, but if I remember correctly that was some some limitation of atomic swaps for bitcoin.... now AtomicDEX added segwit support.
One good thing about this wallet/exchange is the fact they are updating it on semi-regular basis (last update was two weeks ago), so maybe you could ask them on github or on their social media, discord, telegram, etc.
1587  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: How to check I have the seeds of my multisig 2/3 on: July 11, 2023, 08:37:21 PM
Is there any other solution to check I own the correct seeds ?
Word of advice, whenever you are creating bitcoin wallet, either regular or multisig, you should ALWAYS check if your seed phrase backup work, only after this you can consider your setup safe.
First write seed words on paper, than erase wallet or reset device/s, and than import seed words from scratch.
Only if everything works good you should accept coins on addresses generated by this wallet.

1588  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: OWNR Wallet! Buy, exchange and store crypto. Order Visa prepaid card! on: July 11, 2023, 08:20:16 PM
No KYC. You don’t need to provide any information except for your phone number and email address.
An easy way to withdraw your crypto. Choose crypto and send it to the specified address.
Not 1, not even 2, but 5 cards can be ordered per month for every user.
Instant email-delivery. The card will be delivered to the specified email address.
Is this VISA, Master Card or we can choose whatever card we want?

I want to see if there are any limitations for using this cards on some websites, and comparison with similar cards would be nice to have.
Problem I see with gift cards like this is that sometimes transaction get's denied or card get's block for using on some websites.
Cards from different providers I saw are in USD, so it's nice to see OWNR offering cards with EUR, so people don't have to pay extra fees when purchasing something from Europe.
1589  Economy / Reputation / Re: Timelord2067 is a malicious liar and a deranged troll on: July 11, 2023, 07:44:14 PM
IMO he already had enough people ~ him and remove him from DT, there is really no reason for the whole forum to ~ him. He had his ego deflated, now he has to decide whether he wants to reconsider his ways and change or if he wants to continue and face more exclusions. Just my opinion, but if we exile someone we are just taking more people away from bitcoin. He is not a bounty hunter here only for the money.
Nobody is going to exile him anywhere, he is still active in forum and he is doing his thing.
I don't expect to agree with everyone here, but if one member have issues with many other members than we have a repeating pattern, and people should be aware of that.
Maybe some people have no intention to change and they like their eco chamber.

Anyway, I can understand how 1miau got into this, and how annoying that sort of deluded trollshittery can be.
Most long term members know the history of T2067 and profile feedback is always there to remind them about it Wink

Maybe he starts realizing that his current approach to DT isn't appreciated by the community. Most likely, it's my personal wishful thinking but even trolls can improve.  Smiley
I don't know about him but I left DT1 myself and cleaned my list because I think it needs serious reform.
Maybe I will return once I see someone actually doing something new to improve things, but until then I am staying out of that theater show  Cool

1590  Other / Meta / Re: Forum having issues? on: July 11, 2023, 07:29:23 PM
I tried accessing the forum using Opera browser and that's the message I got. It looks like Cloudflare went out on a blocking spree
Did you use Opera browser with or without built-in free VPN feature?
It could be that many users are using same shared IP address that got banned by cloudflare system.

Everything works fine on my end today and I tested how browsing forum works with different browsers, all went fine for now.

1591  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Railgun Privacy wallet - Zero Knowledge Proof secured - Railway on: July 11, 2023, 07:16:23 PM
Surprised there's no mention of this in the forum.
Maybe because Railgun wallet is not open source (correct me if I am wrong) and who knows what kind of mumbo jumbo is hidden inside the code.
Another reason is that it is not supporting Bitcoin mainnet, and random shitcoin chains and apps can never have enough liquidity and transactions to make something really private.
I tried opening wallet and redirected me to some .xyz domain that looks like scam, and new page gave me 403 forbidden error.
If someone is going to use any altcoin for privacy transaction they would just use monero instead of this hocus pocus stuff.
1592  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Keystone 3 HW coming soon! on: July 10, 2023, 10:07:39 PM
Keystone 3 HW with OKX partnership after some days of OKX new KYC restrictions. I hope it will be something useful.
I hope they won't go the ledger route, and try to mess around with Recovery features and direct connection with exchanges that could reduce privacy.
Partnership could mean that OKX will offer co-branded Keystone devices, and last information I got is that Keystone will offer co-branding for their new device (like other hardware wallets are doing already).

The large size comes from the battery and some parts such as the camera and SD card port, so it looks like smart phone.
Maybe it looks like a smartphone from a far, but when you take it in hands you will notice much smaller size.

I expected to see the Cyberpunk version of the wallet that CEO Lixin promised to release in 2022 - 2023. This version was intended for advanced users who will be able to independently compile the firmware from open source and install it on the wallet.
Perhaps this version will be released as a variant of Keystone 3 if they haven't changed their plans.
Oh they changed plans many times since then Smiley
Last thing I heard is that Keystone 3 will be used for Bitcoin and shitcoins, and they will create different model of hardware wallet only for Bitcoin support.

Can't stop laughing how many times will you post it
Darn karma hits hard
You seem to be quickly converting from Islam to Hinduism with karma, but religion won't help anyone in this case Tongue
All of the sudden you are coming here supporting member stormbounty, and doing anti-campaigning for whirlwind makes me think you could easily be an altaccount, and this is obvious to everyone.

1594  Economy / Reputation / Re: Timelord2067 is a malicious liar and a deranged troll on: July 10, 2023, 09:18:19 PM
...
I really don't understand why you spend so much time communicating with him with messages, when there is report and ignore options available.

Last I checked, he was off DT. He was removed at the beginning of June. If you want to ~ him that's fine, but do you really need to pour more salt into the wound?
I am not sure who poured salt into wound in this case, but 1miau is not the first member who noticed weird behavior from him.
Maybe it would be better for one of them to be smarter and stop PM conversation early before things escalated more, but it's to late now.
Voting results are somehow interesting...

1595  Economy / Reputation / Re: Should we hand out neutral/neg tags like candy?(open but might be future edits) on: July 10, 2023, 09:03:38 PM
Neutral feedback can have many interpretations, but it remains neutral and nobody should care so much about it, however I remember some members begging others to remove it, so maybe campaign managers pay attention to it.
In most cases I see nothing wrong with people adding Neutral tag and this doesn't need to have any links or proof, but some people switched from giving easy negative ''candies'' to neutral, to avoid criticism from DT members.
Instead of using Neutral feedback for making notes on other members, now we have BitcoinTalk User Notes script made by TryNinja, and it can be used with Tampermonkey, Violentmonkey and similar alternatives:

Paranoid mode: What if the DDOS is designed to force people to reduce their anonymity?
Supper paranoid user reporting here, but did you see latest stats for Tor metrics?
There is a massive jump in Tor users worldwide but especially in Germany, and this was never seen before.
My suspicion is that most of this are operated by government agencies for spying on people, and only small percent increase is from real users.
I don't think recent Cloudflare problems are just as coincidence, and this is not normal.

1597  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: kycnot.me bitcointalk version on: July 09, 2023, 10:48:31 PM
I see that some members recommend https://kycnot.me/ for those who want to search for a non KYC exchange lists, after visiting that site, I found that it is not Up to Date, as some exchanges either no longer work or their privacy policy has changed.
Last update on kycnot.me website was few days ago on July 6th, so you can't say it's not up to date.
Maybe some exchanges should be removed from the list (localCryptos for example), but I think you can propose changes on their contact page or on codeberg (github alternative).
There is even forked old version of kyc.net website that is still working but I am not sure if they are updating it:
https://patchysicp.xyz/~wheezy/kycnotme/

I was thinking of creating a similar site, but it is updated by the forum. Are there any updated alternatives to https://kycnot.me, or is there someone in the forum working on this idea, or in other words, is it worth my time or is it a useless idea?
Doing something like this in forum is not a bad idea, but be careful with this, because I saw many similar attempts that could not keep up with all the updates and they usually quit after few months.

...untraceable coins & 100% anonymity
This sounds a lot like something a scammers would say, and I am sure you can't guarantee 100% anonymity with anything today.

Another thing I noticed on your website is that you claim how you can mix 1000 Bitoins (or 20,000 ETH), that is more than 30 or 37 million dollars!
and I really doubt you have that amount of coins, and you probably can't prove it by signing a message, am I right?

I will have more times in next few days and I will check mix.guru website more and post my updates.

1599  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: My worries with ledger on: July 09, 2023, 10:02:00 PM
The difference is how you use it: I don't trust my smartphone, but I use it anyway and make sure I don't risk too much. Hardware wallets were supposed to replace cold storage, which now turns out to be a lie.
Of course, even with cold wallets I need to trust software, but it's a lot easier to be absolutely sure my private keys can't be sent somewhere.
How does it turn to be a lie?
If you think about ledger, than you could saw I was warning people to stay away for years, it is closed sourced and I never consider it a real cold storage.
Definition for cold storage is clear, device should not be directly connected with internet or with other device, and airgapped hardware wallets (Passport, Keystone, etc) are doing that exactly.
If you think there are no cold storage hardware wallets, than there is no computer that can be used for cold storage with electrum wallet.

I never said I trust my computer.
But you have to use it with your electrum ''cold'' setup.

You said it: "modern" Tongue It's one of the reasons I'm still using my old laptop. The other reason is being lazy.
Than you have different problem, they are all considered insecure and outdated. Wink
