1621  Economy / Goods / Re: Super sexy underwear worn at least 3 days to your pleasure+photos of my pussy on: July 04, 2023, 10:01:12 PM
Are you fucking kidding me? $50 for used panties? And you are telling me I still have to wash them myself before using them? That's just... wow.
You would be surprised to find out what people are spending their money on these days.

1622  Other / Meta / Re: A concise 2FA/TOTP implementation (SMF patch) on: July 04, 2023, 09:47:56 PM
To turn 2FA on, you go into your account settings and use the new section between the "Password" block and the "Secret Question" block
Well done PowerGlove!
You should receive special developer title in your profile if this gets approved.
I hope QR code will be only optional and not mandatory like on some websites, but this preview looks great.

Is there any chance of something getting messed up with code in future that could permanently disable login to bitcointalk forum?
To prevent this potential problem there must be some fallback option for that, without reducing security.
We also don't want hacker abusing this to somehow attack bitcointalk.

Besides his activity, his account also holds huge historical value in older posts, which will give an immediate boost in visibility to anyone featured in his sig. With that said, he's definitely worth the money, and if you're looking for a top performer, definitely go with his sig.
Thank you for your kind words SirJohnVonSlotty.

It was a real pleasure working with you in last few months, and I hope to see you back with some new interesting project soon.
1625  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Another crap Amazon wallet find: Material Bitcoin on: July 03, 2023, 10:42:29 PM
HW wallets have kind of fascinated me since I first learned of them, and I often check Amazon to see what new products are coming to market--for lack of a better place to browse such information; if anyone has a better idea, I'm all ears.  Anyway, I stumbled across this piece of garbage today (hopefully the image shows up, as it's my first time using talkimg.com):
This looks like Ballet wallet to me  and without checking I bet this product is coming from China (even if they are based in Spain).
Anyone can create a wallet-like product today and post it on Amazon and Ebay, but they won't have much customers.
I saw many weird hardware wallets and we are following all of them in our local board, it's a wild wild west space and I am going to add this one also Wink

What is even more weird - How come that with just ~40.000€ - they were able to build a production line (I suppose that there is one) that engraves the plates and packs them in a security bag with no Human intervention when 70% of the funding went into developing the product[1]?
Magic? Many kickstarter projects never deliver even if they have good idea, but I don't think Material Bitcoin was ever any good  Tongue

1626  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: [LIST] Wallets supporting Taproot on: July 03, 2023, 10:32:47 PM
the custody service provider BitGo announced on june 30 the integration of musig2, a protocol for multisig wallets enabled by the taproot update, for their Bitcoin hot wallets. this means that a protocol standard that has been actively developed by the theoretical side for some time is finally becoming a reality and can henceforth be used productively. customers of BitGo can thus benefit from several advantages in the future, such as better privacy and lower transaction fees.
I am not going to add any custodial wallets in my list, and in general I don't support anything BitGo is doing.
If I remember correctly there was some big hack and vulnerability discovered recently with BitGo... but I stand by saying not my keys = not my coins.

and by the way, while surfing through the internet, i came across this interesting website. maybe you could also add it to the op Grin
https://whentaproot.org/#support
This looks interesting, I bookmarked it and I will check it out and investigate more in next few days.
1627  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Whirlwind.money | ⚡No Fee⚡ | Ultimate Privacy | Anonymity Mining 12% APR🔥 on: July 03, 2023, 10:24:59 PM
This is what I mean when I say all of you signature campaign participants are (obviously) biased and replying in bad faith
Not  true, and I didn't notice anyone doing that here.
I had no affiliation with Whirlwind whatsoever and I criticized your behavior, but I also stated that whirlwind email support could act better in situations like this.
However, you can't expect from small team to reply to your every message, and by writing a bunch of posts in forum you are just digging your hole deeper, people just won't take you seriously enough.
You can continue doing what you want, but you won't help your situation at all by doing this.
1628  Other / Archival / Re: [ANN] [banned mixer] - Bitcoin Mixer | BTC Tumbler | Anonymous | NO LOGS | NO JS on: July 03, 2023, 10:15:05 PM
During challenging periods such as these, where even the tiniest online stores or digital currency platforms monitor each of your transactions, it's crucial to prioritize privacy.
What does background check for incoming coins mean exactly?
Are you going to reject coins from some sources and return them to sender or not?
Trusting private investors and worldwide centralized exchanges is not good, and based on your website you are doing that and working with them.

I don't believe in complete anonymity with Bitcoin, and I wouldn't pay extra high fees using new websites that promises to provide service like this.
After performing some testing I could say more, but I don't see anything special that stands out from all other Bitcoin mixers available now.
1629  Other / Meta / Re: Self-moderated topics - nice feature or should it get banned? on: July 03, 2023, 08:07:57 PM
So, what's your opinion? Self-moderation to get banned or to stay?  Smiley
Do you have more points, why self-moderation is a beneficial feature for Bitcointalk?
Self-moderated topics are great and beneficial but they can be like double-edged sword sometimes.
History showed that scammers in forum often used them to trick other people and to delete unwanted comments they don't like.
I am creating self-moderated topics only when I expect more spam comments and whenI don't want to wait for moderators to delete posts I reported.
I wouldn't waste time on opinions from people like UnknownO1 Wink

Jedino što je uvijek zajebancija kod njih je naučiti pravila i kako igrat unutar njih. Pogotovo obveznice i nekretnine.

Slažem se s većinom stvari koje si napisao, ali ja se nikad ne bih zajebavao s državnim obveznicama, posebno ne u banana državama.

1631  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: A Non-Custodial wallet, Atomic Wallet, being compromised on: June 30, 2023, 08:47:09 PM
What is the best choice for me? and Why?
Best choice for you is to stop using so much shitcoins and switch to using mostly Bitcoin.
As a gradual transition you can try using Unstoppable wallet, that works on mobile devices and it is open source, but I am not sure if it support all the coins you mentioned.
Best choice is using open source hardware wallets like Trezor, Bitbox or Keystone because they have good support for coins.
Don't use any closed source or custodial wallets.
1632  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: BIP39 mnemonic phrase. on: June 30, 2023, 08:43:41 PM
My question is BIP39 mnemonic phrase is very popular. Is it a unanimous phrase standard?
Why is it popular?
BIP39 was created by Trezor developers and it become a standard for most hardware and software wallets.
Electrum wallet later made some improvements and created their own seed phrase system, but they also support importing BIP39 phrase.
It became popular because it was the first to do something like this, that makes life and backup much easier.

Incase we have seed phrases that are not compatible with different wallets, how do I see a complete seed phrase and identity the wallet that generated it?
I don't know what you mean.
All wallets are compatible with BIP39, only difference can be with derivation paths that can be different with different wallets.

I've never heard of this wallet. I learn something new every day on this forum  Cheesy
Mercury wallet is not that famous but I have been following them for some time and I think it deserves a place in bitcoin privacy tools.

Big thanks to SirJohnVonSlotty and whole Coinslotty team for being very fair and easy to work clients. Hopefully we will reunite on some future project Smiley
I think it was all thanks to SirJohnVonSlotty.
We need more people like him in world we live today, and he clearly proved that he can be trusted with any of his future projects.
I wish him all the best with his new projects and to get married soon, no more time wasting on beach Cool
1635  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Wallet for Android / Re: Pros vs. Cons on Android for Bitcoin on: June 29, 2023, 09:47:29 PM
Android is an open-source, you can modify it if you have the knowledge or use privacy-oriented custom ROMs. Btw, if you follow the basic rules, like, not to use public wifi, don't visit malicious or unknown websites and so on, you won't be at a high risk of attack.
Only Android base is open source, but rest of this OS is full of junk, bloatware and propriety software code, especially in phones from China, but samsung and other brands are not great also.
Using GrapheneOS is probably one of the bst open source OS you can use for your smartphone devices, it's clean Android OS with big security improvements, but it's far from perfect.
However, I think it's good enough to be used for everything related with Bitcoin apps.

Android OS is much more used than iOS, so this would be understandable. It's sort of similar to Malware made for Windows PCs vs Linux
That difference is not big at all in United States, in fact I think more are people in west are using iOS devices.
Percentage would be much different in rest of the world but many people still use cheap Android devices.
1636  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum multisig for long-term cold storage on: June 29, 2023, 09:41:05 PM
Totally with you there. I just meant that a dedicated air gapped HD wallet is going to offer the same security (if not more) than an air gapped encrypted PC.
This should be true in theory, simply because attack vector for airgapped hardware wallets is usually smaller than for general purpose computers/laptops.
And there is big advantage that hardware wallets can be almost fully open source, that is something very hard to achieve for laptops, but it's not impossible.
I don't see any reason why we can't use both devices and combine them in some good multisig setup.

When we make a general comparison, encryption increases your security, so you cannot say the opposite or the same.
Not all encryptions are always good, and sometimes they can damage your security.
Telegram claims their are encrypting something, but nobody can verify their claims, and we know many examples of broken encryption in past.
I also remember a case of ''encrypted'' phones used by criminals and create by three letter government agency.

1637  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Whirlwind.money | ⚡No Fee⚡ | Ultimate Privacy | Anonymity Mining 12% APR🔥 on: June 29, 2023, 08:18:47 PM
in order to steal money with plausible deniability.
Let's be realistic, nobody stole your money here, you sent it yourself, nobody asked for you to send anything.
Yes I am telling you that you are wasting time doing something that doesn't make any sense, but you can do whatever you want.
If you can't handle simple things than I am not sure you should be using mixers and bitcoin, since you obviously talk a lot with crypto support teams (CM, samourai, sparrow), so this is not your first rodeo.

And for what it's worth my opinion stands, if you lose the private key, you lose the funds. At this point I'm not even entirely sure what to make of you, or your situation. You said you just sent them a private key to your personal wallet over email - very bad..
Again, NOBODY asked him to send private keys to anyone, so he has a habit of doing stuff like this on his own.
1638  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Forget about exchanger search! Use BestChange! on: June 29, 2023, 08:12:33 PM
Dear Bestchange users, please spread awareness about this new (possible) scam that's trying to use the name of Bestchange in its domain. I hope no one gets scammed at any cost. Below is the proof and link to the telegram post as well
They sure look like a scam, but they have totally different design and they are pretending to be centralized exchange, so there is nothing in common with original BestChange website.
1639  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Whirlwind.money | ⚡No Fee⚡ | Ultimate Privacy | Anonymity Mining 12% APR🔥 on: June 29, 2023, 02:34:58 PM
I will give you the deposit wallet private key, how about that, what more can I do to prove I sent this, I quickly posted here and sent a support email the same hour after the deposit was made. I still have the tab open and can prove anything you want. Jesus
If they didn't reply to any of your emails (I don't think this is a good behavior like I said), than I don't see what's the point in sending them your private keys  Roll Eyes
I hope you learned an important lesson from your own mistake, and next time be extra careful when you use any mixing service.
There are some grey areas with whirlwind, but most is related with user mistakes that can be intentional sometimes.
And btw most of the neutral people from bitcointalk voted to for WhirlWind not to refund funds in cases like this.

Out of over 5 emails to customer support I got replies for ZERO, in 2 days it will be 1 week since the first message
Put yourself in their position, if they start to reply and refund everyone who makes mistakes, they could compromise their security model and potentially get attacked by someone.
1640  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Sending btc on chain to a lightning wallet produce the same thing as a mixer ? on: June 29, 2023, 01:51:39 PM
I still have a little trouble understanding lightning (and if there was only that!). I was wondering if we lost track of btc on chain when we sent them to a lightning wallet.
This is not exactly the same thing as using a mixer or coinjoin, but it does provide some privacy if you use different address to convert LN coins back to main chain.

There are some wallets (like mercurywallet.com) that work on bitcoin layer-2 with state chains, they are much better for privacy and I think they are working on integrating Lightning Network.
So best combination would be to use Mercury wallet together with Lightning Network if you want to have something very similar with a mixer.

PS
Note that you will have to pay transactions fees each time your are going on-chain and off-chain, and you will have to pay some fees to Mercury wallet.
Doing this for small amount of coins when mempool is full, is not really a good idea.
