701  Economy / Speculation / Re: Nights Watch by Afrikoin on: May 25, 2017, 11:09:43 PM

That confirms what I posted above.

Speculative adoption cycle....Fractal repeating bubbles.

The chart is so clear and obvious because the market is pure and free, and the supply is inelastic.

The only caveat which might change the S Curve is the existence of directly competing cryptocurrencies.
702  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] HUSH Secure Private Transactions [Equihash][Community Project] on: May 25, 2017, 09:43:53 PM
hmmm such dumps...

I only wish that there was more to Hush, it is currently nothing more than a pump and dump. It’s selling point is privacy, but it means little to ‘true’ investors. The reason why I would appreciate a roadmap.

As it stands, it is an Zcash alternative where Zcash is driven by investors and collaboration. Hush is very minor in this regard.
David will release a roadmap as soon as it's done.
I've heard some if his plans and they're really good 😄

Dont rush it.

Devs shouldnt  give in to pressure.

Don't ever worry about the price, a dump always follows a pump, so don't allow the pump in the first place.

Always get the fundamentals right, before promotion.

Just my 2c.

703  Economy / Speculation / Re: Nights Watch by Afrikoin on: May 24, 2017, 11:08:46 PM
Still going with my own  count/prediction which I noticed in April 2013. Each wave high approx 5x the previous one , each low just above the high before last.

BTC price moves upwards in a series of parabolic waves, call them bubbles if you wish.

Wave 1.   High $35

Low $3

Wave 2.  High $200

Low $40

Wave 3   High $1000

Low  $220

Wave 4   High   $5000

Low   $1100

As for the time series, an average of roughly two years is needed per wave. Because there were 2 waves in 2013, we had to wait over 3 years for the next one.

So, to sum up, I expect a high between $4000 and 6000 sometime later this year and a fall back to just over $1000 in 2018. (excluding exceptional events of course)

This series will finish when either :

1. The equilibrium price is reached for use as a currency (which is a lot lower than it would be without competing cryptocurrencies)  Or

2. There is some failure of the code/technicals.
704  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CRYPTO BULLION (CBX) | Inventor of PoSP! on: May 24, 2017, 07:59:32 AM
I've held CBX for a long time now, and I'll continue to do so, but CBX has been left behind by the alt boom - MK under 250K USD -  and if it doesn't catch up soon it'll be dead within 4-6 months. At these levels CBX isn't even a third tier coin any more, and that's truly shocking given the proud history of this coin.

If the dev team have a doomsday plan in the bottom drawer it's time to pull it out - Masternodes, LN, segwit, sidechains etc ... whatever ... some sort of upgrade is needed asap to generate some interest and buzz around CBX (even if it's BS), otherwise it's all over guys. If CBX can't catch a wave in this market then it doesn't deserve to continue much longer.

I'll continue staking!!

Good points.

If a coin cannot boom in this environment, it will never boom.

I would add :

Lots of dead projects have markets caps in the multimillions now : Why ?

1. They are on a larger exchange.

2. They have a very large number of coins in issue, making price per unit 'cheap'.

That means they catch the eye of speculators who have no idea what they are buying : Hot Money.

CBX has neither of those 'benefits', but they will prove hollow when the approaching market crash hits. CBX didn't rise, but it probably won't fall 99% like a lot of others.
705  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★★ GameCredits - The future of in-game monetization ★★★ on: May 23, 2017, 11:23:15 PM
https://blockexplorer.gamecredits.com/

Less than 24h until halving!

Yea, I doubt it will have much impact on price, and if anything may be a sell on the news type of event, but you never know, it could give some a reason to buy more.

Yes. Sell on the news : frequently happens will block halvings.

With the end of the ICO coming as well, there may well be a substantial price dip. Just saying, to reassure LT holders : Don't worry if Game price drops, it is to be expected.

The whole project is very sound.
706  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★★ GameCredits - The future of in-game monetization ★★★ on: May 22, 2017, 12:20:47 AM
it appears that nobody wants to sell their GAME, which is a real vote of confidence . If you look at the trading volumes and ratio increases, coins like Sia and Dodge are up 24% odd with volumes of $22 million plus - screenshot http://prntscr.com/fa7i6c  GAME is up 41% with volumes of $6 million. People aren't selling

These things go in cycles. The smart time to sell Game is now, after the big increase and just before the end of MGO ICO, but make sure you buy back later in the year  : long term looks good.
707  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: May 22, 2017, 12:03:33 AM
Dash is solving this problem right? How is it with it's anonymity? Is there nny?

Yes and yes  Wink  Dash produces a new block an average of every 2.5 minutes compared with Bitcoin's 10 minutes.  Dash has already approved an increase in blocksize from 1 MB to 2 MB when such an increase becomes necessary and has the governance system to be able to adopt further solutions quickly and effectively if required.  Dash also has a feature called InstantSend for instant transactions on the blockchain.

Regarding fees, Dash is Digital Cash and aims for mainstream adoption by the world's unbanked population.  It's understood that keeping the fees low is key to achieving this.

Dash addresses the issue of anonymity with PrivateSend which permits the history of coins to be wiped clean through a protocol-level mixing process.  Unlike other coins which promise privacy through obfuscation, PrivateSend allows for optionally anonymised transactions without compromising transparency of the blockchain.

GET OVER IT MAN...DASH is a joke ..bytecoin surpassed dash ,next coin that will do so is dogecoin and we should expect siacoin, monero and ETC to do the same pink coin also looks a threat to dash as it have the same trade volume as dash..what a fucking joke dash is..how can dash supporters and devs be so delusioned about surpassing btc while dash is such a joke with same trading volume as another joke coke coin like pinkcoin..i think someone should invent some coin called jokecoin to be real contender to dash .NEXT BATTLE IS JOKECOIN VS DASH

It is true that Dash is steadily slipping in the ratings. The BTC price is in an entrenched downtrend, while most others are rising very strongly.
708  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★★ GameCredits - The future of in-game monetization ★★★ on: May 16, 2017, 11:57:33 PM
Glad I am bought some a couple days ago. Should have bought more  Cheesy

Don't worry. The price has come a bit too far too soon. There is a lot of demand going into the last week of the MoGo ICO (where payment in Game offers a 10% discount). The Game raised has to be placed with buyers.

The long term future looks good, but my own guess is that we will see a rest or pullback in price after the ICO. That would be a healthy thing IMO.
709  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alt coins worth buying on: May 16, 2017, 11:03:51 PM
Grab the low-priced and high-ranked coins on Coinmarketcap as soon as possible. Wink
There are no guarantees but I think it's really worth.

Low priced and high ranked ? What does that mean ? The ones with the largest number of coins in circulation ? That would make Ripple top buy on those criteria.
710  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: May 16, 2017, 11:01:28 PM
...
Ripple is 100% premined centralized and 100% manipulated coin so take that for what it's worth.

It also has the dubious distinction of being the subject of successful enforcement action by FinCEN in the United States. https://www.fincen.gov/news/news-releases/fincen-fines-ripple-labs-inc-first-civil-enforcement-action-against-virtual The fact that it is 100% premined and centralized was critical to this enforcement action.

..but the price has still beaten everything else and made a lot of ppl very rich.

Either that means the centralisation, enforcement action, premine, manipulation etc have been good for price, or cryptos have still not entered the real world.
711  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: May 16, 2017, 01:36:55 AM
Guys, where do you think the Dash is going?
Is it going down as it seems?

Yes .. it's going down.

Relatively to other alts, the price is very weak. It's just the dump side of the pump in March/April. Hopefully won't go below 0.03 BTC, but I don't like making predictions.
712  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: May 15, 2017, 07:48:04 AM
Dash is looking same attractive and strong like it was before. It's market overall is stable if we see its valuation in fiat as well. It will make huge come back and then recovering its lost position against Bitcoin will help it to double the price against dollar. This is how I see any project and no worry seeing some kind of balance in both markets. Stay tuned and ignore an unnecessary comments.

+1. People get scared too easily, when DASH was pumping everybody was happy. Then somebody bought at the top (noobs), and now cry. If you believe in this project you go long term, stash your coins and forget them for a year, DASH has a bright future.

I just point out that the number of posts here has declined tremendously in the last few weeks.  The trading volume of Dash has done likewise.

These are truly bearish signs. Considering how many other alts are surging, and having increasing focus and interest, Dash is in a significant downtrend.

Just saying, read the runes, compare and and see for yourself. Interpret as you wish.

Apparently you haven't visited our Slack site at Dash Nation.  Hell I hardly come here anymore and I was addicted to this place for 2 years. Now I might poke my head in once a week. People got sick of the idiots on here... I know several coins where they don't even have a presence on BCT.

Yes, I look at Slack sometimes. Trading volume decline and price decline are more significant than postings.

Stable in $$ terms but declining in BTC (and other alts).

Maybe when the current crypto bubble bursts Dash might be more stable than most ?
713  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: May 14, 2017, 06:10:28 PM

Looks like my buy is going to get filled soon if price continues in this direction. Smiley

As I noted above, it's getting into my 0.015's "concern zone" again BUT -- at the same time -- we're still $28+ which is closer to $30 than $20

So?

"There Will Be Growth In The Spring" and "As Long As The Roots Are Not Severed, All Is Well. And All Will Be Well In The Garden." Cheesy

Peter Sellers, LOL.

Only fiction, how could there possibly be a US President as Dumb/Genius as that ?
714  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: May 14, 2017, 06:07:53 PM
Since we're speculating on polo and I'm a tin foiler..my take is that some accounts may have dubious transactions and polo is being helpful to investigators and those that hold those accounts may not have legal recourse. Of course my speculations are never true. Tongue

Is their fault since they dont use Monero. With Monero there are no dubious transactions since all Moneros are same.

Now almost my every 3rd post on this forum is saying that I dont have any problems with Poloniex Tongue   Since I dont and i know that those that dont will not post about it, but only the ones that have problems.

But if you dont daytrade is stupid to hold any crypto on any exchange!!

I see no problems with Polo.

However this is a dangerous 'late stage' speculative bubble, and caution would be wise.

As in the last 2 crypto bubbles, lots of ppl are making vast amounts of 'easy money' , but many will lose heavily, in unexpected ways, when the 'unknowns' hit, which they inevitably will.
715  Economy / Speculation / Re: Nights Watch by Afrikoin on: May 14, 2017, 06:00:53 PM
Really I am so confused.
I am currently 100% in Alts trying to make fast profit so I can buy BTC.
In the maintime BTC rises while I try to make that alt-profit,
at the end of the day I think missed the train of BTC.
Afraid it will spike above $2000 and I wont have the chance anymore to buy deep.
Advice?

The more you trade, the more you wil lose relatively to just holding. All Cryptos are roaring ahead, some are up by 100x in a couple months, and it is super-easy to make boatloads,  measured in fiat terms. It is very late in the bubble, IMO.

Don't be stuck in speculative alts when the bubble bursts, like in early 2014, when many traders lost 95% really quickly. Pick a few solid currencies (include BTC if you like) and stick with them. Then you will lose less in the inevitable bust.

717  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: May 10, 2017, 11:25:45 PM
There hasn't been a serious altcoin bubble bursting since the rise of Monero the last year AFAIK. So we have no past data to learn from. I know I'm buying everything I can permit myself between 10-15 euros though in such an event.

This will only be the second serious bubble. It is already at a very late stage : there are many coins with dead blockchains trading huge volumes and price (exactly as before).

The burst of the first, in early 2014, was chaotic, and liquidity drained rapidly from every altcoin into BTC, the only 'safe haven' at the time... The best actively developed coins were hit hard, and recovered very slowly, the dead ones carried on down.

This time it will be instructive to see which of the really big coins are considered 'safe havens' , and which are not.

Hmm, interesting.  So that time when alts in a bubble popped, the value still remained mostly in crypto?  i.e. "drained" to BTC so that the dollar-value stayed mostly the same, if BTC went up about an equal amount as whatever was lost in the altcoin valuations?

Or did the dollar-value of all marketcap just disappear, i.e. crypto as a whole went DOWN at that time?

Just asking because IF this is the case, it seems to me that one would be reasonably well-protected from this situation if the overall crypto portfolio was balanced about 50% bitcoin and 50% "all other alts" (in whatever percentages you like best for those other alts, of course).

Or am I missing something here?  Hmm

I watched every twist and turn of price of virtually every coin at that time, from the rally to the peak, and down again. The total marketcap of BTC fell by around 50% in the first few months after the bust, but the alts got hit much worse, I guess an average of -80% wouldn't be far off. Remember also that BTC was 90% dominant at that time.

On that basis, nothing could protect you from loss in fiat terms, but BTC was the least bad option.

I expect it will be slightly different this time round : I believe its possible that one of the larger alts will be the least bad performer.
718  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CRYPTO BULLION (CBX) | Inventor of PoSP! on: May 10, 2017, 12:20:39 AM

How come a lot of wallets were recovered by goldcoin dev and are being handed back to their communities to be best used for there future.

Microguy bought the Cryptsy details of approx 150 coins from the receivers, but the time needed to sync and recover was huge, and the reward uncertain, I guess thats why he decided to donate.

CBX was a large concentrated amount of value.
719  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [START] StartCOIN 2.0 - The digital currency for crowdfunding on: May 10, 2017, 12:13:15 AM
You can understand this market better just watching the whole crypto market when every coin is red this one is showing green. A pure example of manipulation and pumps groups involvement without any update or development. Some new bag holders will be made in this pump.

Any coin without really strong active development is going to crash hard when this bubble bursts. Same as January 2014. Every altcoin will be affected, some more than others.
