721  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are some government scared of Bitcoin? on: December 03, 2022, 03:13:51 PM
~
Not sure what you really meant in the title, but making it a legal tender does not mean that government are afraid of Bitcoin. Every single government entity out there would have just banned crypto straight away if they were indeed scared of it.
Adopting it as a legal tender is just a means of them to at least get something out of the people that are using it. Imposing strict KYC laws to many crypto apps like the ones I have been using here in my country so that they would trace me anytime is one example.
I know my example was not about "adopting it as legal tender", but you get the idea.

Yeah I got you there, it is really going to be painful to be one of the company's lay off. I would be even emotionally drained if I was fired from any of the FAANG companies though Twitter is not mentioned, but you get the idea. Surely the employees that were laid off would still find work at no time, since they already had that dream of an experience to work from a popular tech companies and any other non popular tech companies might consider them if not overqualified for their experiences in the industry.

The recent layoffs still surely leaves a mark for the company regardless.
723  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I will support Elon Musk if he creates a stablecoin for Twitter on: December 02, 2022, 03:34:24 PM

I hope this is a troll post and not really a serious one. You do know that having everyone rich is going to be horrible and the economy will collapse right? If I can recall correctly, Elon would require verified users as well to pay for them to keep their blue ticks for some amount, not sure if it was $8 or lower/higher than that, but surely you got the idea that he is not going to pay his users.

You cannot trust rich person in the media to just let their wealth be shared, right? Sure we have poverty as one of the problems in the economy, but making everyone rich is not the way to solve it nor it is part of the solution.
724  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why everybody is panicking ? Its a game of greed and fear ! on: December 01, 2022, 05:49:16 PM

In the end, they might not understand these anyway in the first place. Bitcoin has been to these kind of dips for more than what my memory can remember on how many times I slept through the bearish market. I guess there were just traders that are not into long-term investments and therefore just calling it quits now during these trends.  I've been telling these back in 2018 when a lot were panicking, but I guess there were still people overcomplicating these simple stuffs like "hodl", "invest those you afford to lose" (like you mentioned), etc.

Even if the market volatility was kind of unsettling sometimes, if your investment was something that you still afford to lose, would it matter anyway regardless?

I had never perceived people using centralized exchanges or even complying with KYC or even using custodial wallet as anti-Bitcoin. Sure, they might not be the one in full control of their assets or whatever coins they are holding, but I am pretty sure they are using it over fiat for a reason obviously.
It is your responsibility in the end on what will happen to your assets anyway, let alone that you invested your money to whatever coin is out there in CMC that you first saw. The only thing you should not do after that is blame other people for whatever stupidity you ended up with due to your obvious negligence.

I do not usually listen to some news pertaining company lay offs, but those numbers are not a joke even though I had read previously that back in 2014, Microsoft even laid off 18k employees. I guess it was part of cutting losses anyways. If Twitter saved $500M for that then I wonder how much worth more was lost back when Musk has not yet bought Twitter.

From how Twitter is starting to change now starting from the blue tick plan, I wonder if people would still continue to use it since I recall trends in my news feed that people are now quitting Twitter due to the recent events.

Considering that freelancing is already a business that you are building which I kinda made the misconception from my previous reply in this thread, I must say that s/he already is doing the business part since in freelancing you are entirely offering services to your clients outside. Businesses is not all about selling goods anyways, since I kind of remembered there were some IT solution companies that offer their tech service and troubleshooting to people either inside/outside their country.
Once OP's career in freelancing goes off, now is the time to put those "extras" in crypto.

Yeah, I am not sure what the user you quoted is talking about. Wouldn't the 64k ATH back then make the investor wait for the price to at least go down so that they can now buy for themselves? If I was just a newbie, I would have done the same. Newer investors would be hella having a great time once they get their Bitcoin now and surely if those who do not have that much money had managed as well if Bitcoin even goes down further would have a great time as well.

Current investors would just like "sleep on the market" if they do not have more to invest, unless they invested something that they were not supposed to invest which is a common mistake for investors these days smh. Roll Eyes

Surely businessmen like these have something up their sleeves, unless they really just intended to destroy what they took over. Musk could have been up to something that would be beneficial for the company and for their end users, unless again, he plans to destroy Twitter over all. I am still curious to how Twitter is going to change really soon since that was really a sudden event when I first heard it. Lay offs are normal, but laying off higher ups is really something that boggled me.

This is to say also that there's never a stable job, unless you're working under the government.
730  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Misconception about cryptocurrency on: November 30, 2022, 04:16:44 PM

Can't blame them since they were not knowledgeable enough in crypto. They think it is just like Stock Market v2.0. I got tired of hearing some pretty rough stuffs about crypto from my ex-colleagues, until it came to the point that I do not brought that up anymore in any conversations since it ain't worth it.
The same goes for people that just read the first line of headline in the news without even reading the whole article and dang I might be a little bit off topic, but it kind of reminds me when people just bashed Netflix when the headlines just stated that it will get ads until they read the whole article.

Anyways, sometimes people are not worth talking to especially with crypto stuffs.
731  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Teaching Bitcoin To My Friends| You're invited too (Online class) part 2 on: November 29, 2022, 05:51:01 PM

I recall your thread that I shared my past experience in learning something related in programming, lol. It's really nice that you kept your consistency in teaching your friends about it, since I recall some other users here just create a thread like these and never heard anything from them every since without any conclusion.

I would love to know on how did those 3 months in between end up though. Were they now holding Bitcoin? Actively trading? Smiley

As much as I wanted to join a Discord server, I would have to pass for now. Cheesy

Not sure how about the norms or culture in different countries, but I heard that some people just really leave their offspring while they are still an infant to an orphanage just because they can't financially handle a complete family.
From your quote, I am pretty sure s/he meant about family planning from what can your income can manage. I would not want my future offsprings to live a horrible life if I am going to be broke or worse, an unemployed human being.
733  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is there best way to seek people's attention on bitcoin? on: November 29, 2022, 03:23:54 PM
Like to buy and hold which I meant, but have been using it for transactions although I have been involved with trading before but I m not a whale who hold dozens of bitcoin.
Well that is already a start, OP. You are still in the point where you are still learning.
Expect a lot of questions from people when you are trying to get their "interest" to Bitcoin. Since you mentioned that you have been involved with trading before, are you ready to answer some people's question like "what is txid", "what are trading signals and how can I use them", "how do you buy/sell", etc. ? Since you also mentioned that you are not going to do F2F discussions, you might need resources (YT vids, books, etc) or/and maybe virtual discussions to answer some questions from your community.
734  Economy / Economics / Re: A career - as an employee or a business owner which do you prefer and why? on: November 29, 2022, 01:59:48 PM
~
There are some people that just prefer to be employee for the rest of their life and it is better to be that way since having everyone own a business would mean that no one would work for them. It says the same that having everyone around the world rich is going to be a horrible event to happen. No one would work for someone else and everyone would have the same wealth.

I guess it is better off as well that business or entrepreneurship is not for everyone.
735  Other / Off-topic / Re: Lay off vs Pay cut on: November 27, 2022, 05:10:36 PM

I don't think that laying people off is contributing factor to being a heartless CEO. You gotta do what you need to do in order to cut losses for your company if it is needed and this is why it is not always a good mindset to be just loyal to your CEO or your boss. You could endanger your other employees just because you tried to save one employee and worse is risking your company into bankruptcy. If your boss would lay you off, s/he would at least give you a notice either a week or two before you leaving the company and that is the cue to put your job hunting into top priority.

Regardless you are still someone who can be replaced by another candidate if they found better and lesser cost. This is one of the reasons why many people are dreaming to be a business owners. Many but not all.
736  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Bitcoin is the only crypto you should BUY on: November 27, 2022, 05:02:28 PM
~
I do not understand what half of your post meant, but if you meant by most of it are into altcoins then you might be better of putting them all now to Bitcoin. Not going to convince you, but I had seen plenty of changes from snapshots of CMC top coins throughout the years and regardless of the trends, Bitcoin just does not move an inch from the ranking unlike some of those inside top 10.

You could get away with some altcoins in the market right now, but some of it are just profitable due to hypes or sheer luck and I do not want my investment to be just based on luck.

I even recall the popular trends here in my local area about people saying goodbye to their Twitter account just because of this news that the people are now packing their bags away due to what happened. If I can recall correctly, Musk also fired the higher ups. Correct me if I am wrong though.

Just because Musk was like known person to be involved in crypto previously does not mean that whatever he does outside of crypto has impact inside crypto unless there was like a news of what you mentioned about "crypto inclusion" which I have not heard yet or I could have forgotten it. Regardless we should have been over with Elon already long time ago, not sure why he is being mentioned inside crypto a lot even after his "sudden popularity" back then.

Good thing that I never entertain this kind of scams.
A random stranger just giving you SMS with a login credentials that leads to a wallet with millions worth of crypto? Come on.
I had received plenty of SMS that even gets automatically marked as spam by my phone and regardless if it was marked or not, I would not click any sort of link from my messages.

This is where the whole fraud scheme is revealed. A man, not understanding can enter a secure key from his wallet and... Goodbye to the entire balance.
Someone that is desperate is likely to be one of the victim of these.
739  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why getting merits seems to be difficult for beginners. on: November 26, 2022, 06:02:19 PM
Again like I said to threads like these, why so inclined to earning merits/ranking up? You are still eligible to post/interact around the forum even if you had not earned a single merit plus you are at Full Member rank already and with that, you can upload avatars.

There are some threads linked by other users above me, so if you are really desperate to get merits, those might or might not help you.
740  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Should I invest in cryptocurrency or start my business? on: November 26, 2022, 05:51:41 PM
I have been working as a freelancer for years, and I have saved some reasonable sum of money. now knowing the full potential that cryptocurrencies have, I am now confused on what to do if is to invest in cryptocurrencies or to establish a business while still working as a freelancer, I don't know the one I should do at moment, if to invest in cryptocurrencies or to establish my business.
Put crypto as your last priority. Continue your freelancing career while establishing your business as we never know when these prices would last before bull run starts again. It would really suck to get losses these days just from how our current economy goes lately.

At the end of the day, if you have some money that you afford losing, then that might be the cue for you to buy some crypto though I would advise you to think about it thoroughly. It does not matter how many or how much since you got to start somewhere anyway.
