I have seen this coin going around for a while. If I'm not mistaken it is a coin from Morocco ? If anyone want to sell some XMR at 5% below market please let me know , thanks.

Actually it's from planet Earth although other planets will soon be included in the network.

I don't normally sell but at 500% above market I might be tempted.

No spam right now, just normal transactions.  Only 188k tx in last 24hr.

maybe for 24 hrs but the last 30 blocks are full.  The people sending are checking the transaction now.

I thought this was the btc help center.  Am I in the correct place?

Update: They are saying:
We kindly advise that you please allow it some more time to be available.
At least through out the day.

LOL

Wonderful.  They finally processed my btc payment today which I requested on Friday.  Price is $410.85 which I'm happy with.  I don't know exactly when it was sent but it was over 20 blocks ago and has not been included in a block yet.  Fee was 0.0001 which has been standard and I'm sure they don't adjust it.  It is no longer listed as pending in my electrum wallet.  Block 401895 is listed as 1000 kB  Shocked

I guess the small free space normally available in a block is being "spammed".  Wonderful

I moved my small bid expressed in kelvin up to 10 degrees fahrenheit or for the rest of the world -12 degrees clesius.

I'm on Bittrex so I'm not having as much fun as the Polo people.

Notice the tails on those bars.  It's like hammer, hammer, hammer, hammer, hammer...

What time frame are you looking at?

30k xmr wall at 0.0027. Any takers?  Cool

xmr rose to fast, so it went down equally quickly. I doubt anyone will buy this wall now. It will be interesting to watch.

at 27 it's getting eaten quite fast. I see he changed his mind and moved it to 28 for a while, now it's back to 27. Personally I'm just waiting for btc deposit and I'll grab a chunk of it Smiley

you right. wall is gone. either pulled or eaten:-)

It was pulled but just after someone dumped into a 42btc buy wall taking it out and more, somewhere around 268

Agree or disagree with him but I wouldn't question Johnny Mnenomic's understanding or intention.  I always appreciate his posts.

In other news:  Hey look at the price.  Bid size increasing and the # of Moneroj available for sale is decreasing.  inexorable

Such a slow day at work.........................................

The following is an idea requesting very modest funding. The way it is presented is good but being my usual clueless self I have no way of evaluating it. Please help in doing so.

A GUI is of critical importance for the next level of adoption.
How many Bitcoin users do you think still use QT?

I run QT still  Huh is that bad?

Me too! Id does what it is supposed to do. For Monero, I also have the CLI wallet installed, but I would never get my wife to use it. But she can handle Bitcoin-QT without problems -> GUI wallet is a big deal IMHO.

BTW: there may be a small, shy triangle breakout. Let's see how it develops.

I think us techies tend to underestimate the issue with the CLI wallet.  Its not so much that people can't figure out how to use it, its not difficult and most people could.  But because we are dealing with money there is apprehension about using something that is not super easy and straight forward, users might think they are more likely to screw something up and lose their funds.

From personal experience, yes to the bolded.

I found btc 3 years ago because it was useful for playing poker.  Not because of philosophy or being a tech nerd.  Like 99% I was clueless about money.  My first "wallet" was the poker site Seals With Clubs, I kept all my btc there.  Next was Electrum.  Then I found Monero in 2014 while still not knowing much about computers.  The community was very helpful and I was able to set everything up and use it.  I was very cautious so that I wouldn't screw things up.  My own motivation was key.  I didn't download and use the Bitcoin client until a few months ago.  I still mostly use electrum.

In other news I nibbled @246 while I slept.  This now seems cheap even if it is double from a month ago.  30 day +101.47%  Perspective for those looking for moon.  I speculate these bananas are only going up from here.  inexorable

A GUI is of critical importance for the next level of adoption.

I disagree. What incentive does anyone outside of our community have to run a full node with a GUI? How many Bitcoin users do you think still use QT?

The "next level" of adoption comes from third-party integrations and services that actually bring utility to the currency. A bundled GUI doesn't deliver any compelling new use cases, and won't result in any new adoption outside of Bitcointalk users and their close relatives.

Well btc has many options such as Armory, Electrum etc while Monero has very little although Trezor is coming.

Also it is my understanding that the Monero GUI is going to be kickass but I don't know how it compares to QT.

Bottom line is that the GUI is a very welcome addition.
733  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: March 07, 2016, 08:40:58 PM
If the price rose with the release of 0.9 I see no reason it will not do so with the release of the GUI.  There should also be a bump in a couple of weeks after the hardfork.

The following was posted in the ANN thread and I think it is very appropriate for this current discussion.

...

i dug in my memory and refound this gem :

https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1qomqt/what_a_landmark_legal_case_from_mid1700s_scotland/

maybe we can put this story on the monero websites?

Yes, That is the first thing I ran across when I was trying to find the implications when I was researching the term.

It really is a GREAT read and needs to be linked and accessible to those researching Monero. I believe this should be a huge part of the marketing when it starts and there is no reason not to start setting up now for when the push starts.

BTW, Who will be in charge of the marketing aspect when we finally are ready for that phase?

...
Great read. Thanks for posting.

This is one of the reasons I own Monero next to Bitcoin. There is a chance a blacklist will become accepted in Bitcoin or in the Bitcoin habitat which would help it spiral to death. Monero would most likely take its place.

I agree and that is why I want to see a USD/XMR pair RIGHT now! I want nothing to do with BTC anymore it is a dead end that has passed it's time and will do nothing but turn people away from the concept of V currency going on. The Cons are starting to outweigh the Pro's with BTC, the community is splintered and eating itself (whether by design or not) and it is becoming centralized and regulated. ALL things I cannot abide.

XMR needs to be ready to step in as soon as that Gui is ready. And definitely before that Zcash bullshit is released. Because it is guaranteed they will be stealing the privacy spotlight from all other coins even though they have so many gaping flaws they are not to be trusted on release. I just can't imagine having to trust 3 people with an entire economies worth of wealth!! MY god That is worse than the current Banking system!

The Marketing plan and it's supporting infrastructure needs to be ready to be released on the day the GUI is released, not started on at that time. And updating all the literature should be a #1 priority on that list as that is what everyone will be directed to when inquiring. What we need is a pair of eyes that have never seen Monero yet is knowledgeable about using BTC and then send them to the docs and let them make a list of what is to confusing and hard to follow and or missing. then we can address that list rinse and repeat until the literature is easily digestible to the public.

Thanks shorts, I can no longer avg down but I bought a little bit @ 266.  Then BOOM!

WTF, any exchange I go to my sell button is disabled.

Good timing with 266 buy.  What do you mean sell button is disabled?

Joke.  I have bought many times thinking of the possibility of selling when the price went up and everytime I hodl.  Even knowing it will overshoot and I can buy lower.  Just don't want to give up any Moneroj.  I can't figure tops but I've gotten good at bottoms/support and accumulating there.  I started out buying all the highs but never more than 0.0085  Tongue Embarrassed
Cheap coins!!!

WTF, any exchange I go to my sell button is disabled.

Status Quo.  I like it  Grin

Someone gets it  Grin

I know there a lot of people who will say moon or something else, but what is a realistic price prediction for XMR with 3 till 9 months from now? thanks!

realistically?

3 months = $10

9 months = $100

Please be still my heart.

Wait, aren't you the troll dev?

I see Monero will fly again.
Can someone tell me please, what was historically highest price for Monero? I can't find this info.
Is this rise caused with SDC death or i'm missing something? Can Monero surpass DASH?

I have some quick notes up for the dev meeting today..

https://hellomonero.com/article/monero-weekly-dev-meeting-notes-2016-03-05

I have seen a lot of new XMR related websites launch recently. The currency is becoming more decentralized.

Nice coverage of Monero News.

Also interesting that pie is preferred over cake by about 2 to 1

I'm not worried. Just pointing out the obvious pattern:

"Oh I can't tolerate BTC that has a fee market, it's unacceptable if fees go up, the solution to spam can't be to make txs more expensive" ...

Not sure where you're getting this. Most are fine with having a "fee market." It's creating demand by imposing production quotas (1MB cap) that most don't want.

Criticism varies.

"Ohhh my tx didn't go in with 1c", "bitcoin is unreliable because fees fluctuate", "I don't want a fee market because it excludes the poor", "3tx/s are too little", "fuck the 1mb central planners" etc etc.

3tx/s are too little, 3tx/s are too little, 3tx/s are too little, 3tx/s are too little
740  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 05, 2016, 01:20:30 AM
What will the price be in ~2 days?  I just requested a payment in btc for work done and it takes 2 days to "process" this request.

I made 2 btc payments this week using my electrum wallet.  Both times I used the suggested fee of 0.000113 and both times it was included in the first block.

Thank you all for your thoughts.  Just catching up after way too many work hours.
