All indicators start to say "BUY" right now.

So Sell ?

Yes!  New indicator just in minutes ago!

As I can only buy when I have fiat I just bought a modest amount.  I can't seem to hold onto fiat.  If "they" are now satisfied with their sale, the price will now go down. Smiley Wink Cheesy Grin Shocked Tongue Kiss

I believe they are talking about different scenarios.  btc drifting up or down, then alts follow.  btc to the moon, people sell alts and board the btc train and after the btc train stops people look for an alternative train.

It needs to be a 64-bit computer in order to run the Monero software and I imagine yours would be 32-bit which is not supported.

I don't know about your CPU but it's probably not worth it.  Neither is mine which now would take 3-4 weeks to mine 1 Monero Tongue but I actually turned it on a few days ago as it's turning cool by me and the heat is not really on yet so.... Hi ArticMine

At ~40 cents per Monero may I suggest you buy a few.  It seems the easiest way for you is to first set up a web wallet with MyMonero
 https://mymonero.com/#/
All you need to do to create an account is to click the button in the middle of the page which reads "Create an Account"

A 13 word seed will be created.  Write this down immediately on paper and place it in a secure location as well as a backup copy.  You will have to use it to log in to your account.  No other way to do it.  Wait, you are using XP which hasn't been supported for 18 months.  No security or other updates during that time. Tongue Tongue

Well my next step was to tell you the easiest way of buying which is using ShapeShift.  No account setup, not even email is required.  Just btc to buy with and a Monero address to send to.

Anybody have advice on using XP now?

I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but do you guys think it's absolutely necessary to learn how to learn linux and command lines to run nodes/mine for Monero?  Is there going to be an easier GUI that allows nodes to be run automatically on a Windows or MacBook?  I don't know if it's necessarily essential to install Linux or not, because I'm still having trouble running all of this on my two computers I have.

Absolutely necessary?  No.

I'm an idyot and have mined and run a node on my anemic windows machine.

It is my understanding that CPU mining is faster on linux than it is on windows and but unsure about GPU mining.

I have the node on my task bar so one click and it starts right up.   A node is difficult for me only because I have 4GB memory and have not upgraded because the database release always seems imminent although obviously not.  Sad   I tried once and was not able to get the 0.9 windows beta to run.

As far as command line, I never used it before Monero but if I can write this post I can use CL and have Smiley

I seem to have acquired more Monero while I was sleeping Smiley

Haha, nice! Do you just set it on auto bet and leave it going all night long? Risky move, but if you profited, good for you! Wink

Hopefully some more casinos will adopt XMR/be made for XMR... I think that is one of the key ingredients for any coin to become successful.

Not on MoneroDice if that's what you mean.  I had a bid filled a bit lower than the one I just missed out on a few days ago.

no worries. Sadly the bears will keep stomping on it. Pretty sure you will get your XMR at the desired price.

Yes, no worries Smiley
1129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 09, 2015, 10:36:42 AM
I think the real takeaway is that regardless of whether you mine or buy, get some..

If you could go back to 2012, would you haggle between the pros and cons of mining vs. buying?  No.  You would say, "I don't care what you do - get some bitcoins, keep them safe, and start thinking about building a business or service that will use them."

Even by reading these words you are a player in a very complex game, but that doesn't mean you're entitled to win (regardless of easy winning may be).  So pull a Shia LaBouf

What is the purpose of compare Monero in 2015 to bitcion in 2012?

SIMPLE: market sentiment is very similar

Remember this is a psychologically driven market. People panic and rejoice and go on emotion. Right now sentiment is STAGNANT.

Meaning we are likely near a bottom or will be getting near that bottom in the next few months.

Hence my recent posts alluding to being a root vegetable.  Patiently waiting for the 0.9 release Tongue  I believe this is needed before any promotion of MoneroDice will be done.

I seem to have acquired more Monero while I was sleeping Smiley

That video is wicked cool! Wow. Had to share it on Facebook.

The vid is also good in showing to others that monero development is ongoing, its far from dead, many ppl help, and is constantly evolving.
The Monero bears and shorts will get to play until 0,9 is out. After that all bets are off.

Wht do you mean. Beta of 0.9 for windows is available for a while. What would change for bears and shorts if 0.9 becomes stable?

I mean tagged and official for download from https://getmonero.org/downloads/. What changes for the bears and shorts is that the development work that has been going on for well over 9 months is released officially.  It also means that the process for the necessary hard fork is started.

I'd add that many people are routinely confused about the state of the code. It is easy for us who are basically all insiders here to say that we know all about 0.9, we've tried the Windows beta and github source, etc. But with some frequency people download the 10-month old binaries, and report various problems with them only to be told to try one of the newer ones. It can't be known how many people evaluating it never ask for help and just give up after seeing the state of that old release (or do ask, are given that advice, but decide it is too much trouble and give up), but it is logical to assume that a large fraction do.

So smooth, what's holding up releasing new binaries? Is there some crucial feature that remains to be implemented? Who makes the call as to when the code is ready?

There are definitely parts of the upcoming fork that are not ready and need to be in binaries otherwise people running the "new' binaries may fork the network. There may also be a few outstanding bugs and build issues, but I'm not sure about that, as a bunch of those have been resolved in the past week or two, so that may be getting close to ready now.

The core team ultimately makes the call but I don't think any of us (nor any of the other developers working on it) believe it is ready yet so there isn't a close call to be made.

Thank you smooth.  I will continue to be a root vegetable.  It is much easier that way.

Whats up with those sneaky few $ dollar rise these days?

$246.-  Shocked

I think this is a trap.

bitcoin going up now because massive people are buying bitcoin right now because of the auction .. or maybe its cuz its the holidays ..... or maybe it is being manipulated by someone whose business model doesnt support bitcoin staying low prices very long.... which do u think ?

I have no clue, what else is new?

why is Gemini a big deal when we have Coinbase and itBit already?  yes I'm still clueless.

I'm pissed I didn't have any BTC avail when the dump hit. Sad still waiting on fucking coinbase slow train to hell.

I haven't used them but I hear Circle is very fast once it's set up.

Given the current volume we could be going down soon as long as there isn't any concrete news.

Well we did have a small dip that lasted ~5hrs and then up we went.  I was just about to buy when somebody beat me to it.

I remain a root vegetable.

1137  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 05, 2015, 03:48:02 PM

Cryptsy is in the top 5 companies being investigated. I wonder if Bittrex and Poloniex are also in the top 5, and if I should get my Bitcoins out of them ASAP? Are the owners likely to go on the run to Mexico after dumping all the Bitcoins held on those exchanges? I assumed the feds would arrest them before revealing their intentions to prosecute. As it stands the Cryptsy owners know they face prosecution months in advance, and the other exchanges know they could face prosecution soon .

It's been widely known that craptsy has been doing shady stuff for quite a while.  I've never had an account there.

Poloniex seems to be well run and have done things in regards to compliance but then they keep promising to publish their margin data since they started offering it months ago and haven't. Tongue
