Isn't calling Lightning like solutions not Bitcoin kind of a stretch?

It's difficult to tell because the sound seems to be off.

2 days in a row that I could not buy or sell Cry

What do I do now, buy or sell?

I can't tell you what to do. Me? I'm gonna wait a bit, hope the irrational enthusiasm wears itself out...

Bids starting at 420 CAD and getting larger if we can go lower.

I was trying to sell that portion that I fomoed hard.  It's a bit late but I still did.  looks like better late than never.

SwC appears to be proficient in releasing updates, improvements and bug fixes, so we can conclude that they have competent programmers who understand the code they have in front of them.  That is not true for all other sites.  Due to the elapsed time, I have to conclude that they have a working Android client prototype running in a test environment, that is not yet stable enough to release on the internet.

Or, due to the elapsed time, we could conclude that they're overwhelmed with trying to get their Windoze software into some sort of stable state and they don't have any time to work on a client for a proper OS.  I'd say you seem to have a lot of faith with little evidence of progress.  After 10 months, I still see people just complaining about the new software and it's constant crashes.  I still can't figure out how this situation is any kind of improvment on the old situation.  I never thought I'd say this: bring back flashplayer plz.

Now all you need to say is windows please Grin

Since only bad experiences tend to be reported I will once again state that I have no issues and haven't had for many months using 8.1 and I'm sure that it is the same for virtually everyone.  Yes they need to make it so for everyone and given the number and frequency of updates it seems that's what they are working towards.
1025  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 05, 2015, 02:09:36 AM

$440 At most. And we will leave the $400's so don't hold for too long then.
My guesstimate target price is below $335 within 4 days from now.

Is there really any point in trying to guess anything in the near future? There's not a great deal of rationality floating around at present.

Well you see...many on here are extremely naive and believe they can affect the markets through their comments...while the others can't think for themselves and need reassurance on a regular basis.

Pretty sad really.

Thank you one and all as I can't think for myself Tongue

What a day for work to put me on the road for 15hrs.  No ability to buy or sell, only watch the ups and downs Sad  Now I am toast Tongue Tongue

I don't know where this place is, nor how to get there or what to do when I am there Tongue

Add " --trusted-daemon" (without the quotes, but with the space) just after the string "simplewallet" in your command, such that --trusted-daemon does not directly touch any other non-whitespace character. If you're using some script someone else wrote, edit it to change that (or post it if you don't know how to edit one, and I'll make the change and post it).

Thanks but I believe you know too much, that is being on another level, to understand how truly clueless I am. Tongue  BTW looking forward to donating to the next round of funding for the great work you will continue to be doing Smiley

@GingerAle, I think you know how clueless I am, Thank you very much  Wink  I be solo mining Cheesy

@farfiman, well I guess I am not totally clueless as I remembered that trick which I believe you mentioned before but I didn't know what to do after that. Cool

I have downloaded the just released windows 0.9 beta.  When I try to start mining in simplewallet I get the following;

Error: This command assume a trusted daemon.  Enable with --trusted-daemon

I tried using the command --trusted-daemon in both the daemon and simple wallet but get the message "unknown command".  I also tried --trusted-daemon in combination with start_mining in simple wallet which also doesn't work.

Add --trusted-daemon to the simplewallet command line, not in the console. That is, at the same place you put --wallet-file, or --daemon-host, etc.

Every time I open bitwisdom I am reminded what the price was 18 months ago when it was the first thing I favorited on my new comp.  $445.75

About 30 min. ago there was a 9k+ Monero, 10+ btc buy quickly followed by a 15k+ Monero, 17+btc buy both @ ~110

According to bitcoinwisdom, it was a buy of 27.2k Monero. At least that scare wall got bought. Perhaps we are able to somewhat stabilize now. That wall was pushing down aggressively the last few days.

Yeah bitcoinwisdom only shows the aggregate.  I saw it on polo and they were 58 seconds apart.  The first one actually was 2k bigger, I didn't add the smaller buys that were part of that buy, only mentioned the 9k individual sell order being bought.

Bedtime for me right now. I'll be up in 7 hours or so.

Any ideas where we are heading during these next 7 hours and any guesses what it'll be when I wake up?

My guess based on absolutely nothing is $415 (U.S price not CHI)

Well we have slowed down, volume as well.  I no longer feel we are inevitably going up.
Yes that's correct, it is a feeling.

I could be totally off, but it seems like someone is controlling the USD price of Monero.

It's not just XMR. So many alts are in the general neighborhood of -40% over the past 30 days which translates to constant USD price, and they have tracked BTC as it has rallied. People trading these alts seem to believe that they shouldn't participate in BTC's fiat price gains at this stage. Maybe it will need BTC's higher prices to be sustained and not turn out to be a short-lived bubble.

The main exception as a subset seems to be the 'BTC-E alts' (LTC, NMC, PPC) which are down less (so up in fiat terms)

I think the fact that counterparty, nxt, monero and namecoin have all gone unavailable on shapeshift since the bitcoin price has skyrocketed is a good indication of an increase in price once the dust settles a little

Also unavailable are Gemz, Swarm, BitCrystals, Ripple, bitshares, and Stellar
so whatever

I sold a small part of my stash at $390. Not sure if I should buy back with it...

I bought a small amount at $390 this morning although I felt a bit silly doing it at the time.

FOMO

Not to be blunt but when will Monero have an official GUI wallet ?

Official, because the other wallets I dont trust that much. Can anybody tell this? Or atleast a time range 1-2 months?

Figure out this and one has a real opportunity to profit by trading Monero.

I`m not that interested to trade monero, but  i just want to know an estimation.

Its really dissapointing to wait that much for a GUI wallet, how hard can it be to retranslate everything and make a C++ base gui wallet or whatever.

It could be done in a few weeks with some devotion.

There is an official GUI that will be released after improvements are made to the code.  Those improvements will be done after the release of the 0.9 version which will be very soon.  More details of this process were recently posted in I believe the ANN thread although it might have been here or both.  The GUI question gets asked alot.  Sorry for not giving the details but this is what I remember.  Remember Monero is not a clone of btc like 99+% of alts but an entirely new codebase.  The devs are trying to get the base correct before putting things on top.  There is devotion to doing things right.
