721  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My ideals on how to promote Bitcoin in my locality on: February 10, 2023, 06:18:57 AM
Doesn't promoting Bitcoin through a church sound wrong to you lol? Knowing the fact that people can lose their life savings if they went in without knowing what they're doing.
I believe church should never be involved in any promotion regardless if it’s legal or illegal, because this may sound like manipulation of the minds of the people to do such things even when they aren’t supposed to do it. Most particularly for bitcoin since it’s a very risky investment, so if one should decide to invest in it, he should be knowledgeable enough and knows exactly the risks involved when investing in bitcoin. Otherwise, he’ll end up losing his hard earned money because of relying his decision from other people.

3) You try to gamble more in attempt to recover loss
When I was addicted, I tried to gamble more if I am losing, but also when I have gained a lot. There are days I would have gained so much, but continue to gamble as it is enjoyable and I will lose more at the end of the day. Be it if losing or winning, you will gamble more if you are a compulsive gambler.
Compulsive gamblers not only gamble to recover losses but also to chase more of their luck and anticipate more winnings. That’s why most of these gamblers are always present in gambling casinos as they never want to skip a day without gambling and chasing for bigger profits. That’s how gambling addiction started. Once they become irresponsible of their own actions and they tend to be more greedy about money making, eventually they will fall on gambling addiction which will lead to a very unhealthy lifestyle.
723  Economy / Economics / Re: How to thrive with low income in a humble area on: February 09, 2023, 08:34:38 PM
* Don't forget to spend only a teeny tiny of money on wants, and only buy wants when you have a budget oversupply. Needs first — always.

* Increase your income. Saving can do so much.
Live within your means and stay out of luxuries in life so that you will not be tempted from taking unplanned debt. That way, you can focus on the necessities like your needs, and avoid all those unnecessary things that are not even useful at all. That way, you can expect to live within your own comfort and peace without being triggered by some unpaid matters.
724  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am stopping for legal reasons. Is it really worth the trouble? on: February 08, 2023, 09:48:24 PM
This is the reality of using Bitcoin. Bitcoiners like to believe that governments can't stop Bitcoin because they themselves wouldn't quit if their government banned it, but an average person would very likely quit because to them it's just not worth the risk. If all governments in the world decided to ban Bitcoin like they once decided to ban drugs, Bitcoin would be just a currency of darknet markets and not a "financial revolution".
It’s hard to really pursue our own goal when the environment itself is not cooperating anymore. It’s obvious that knowing bitcoin is already banned in your country, people will fear using it and will never be interested in it anymore so if you continue to accept crypto payments, I would say it will never be successful in the end. Just continue to accumulate bitcoin on your own, and do not expect from people around you that they can also be helpful in your own goal.
725  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Figueroa vs Magsayo WBC Interim Featherweight Title (March 4) on: February 06, 2023, 08:30:15 PM

Mark Magsayo already faces some top fierce in the Featherweight Division like Gary Russel Jr. and Rey Vargas.

Facing Figueroa, there should be at least a bit of an advantage for Magsayo in terms of experience.

As both of them I believed are hungry for a title, I expect that we can see a close and intense match here.
Both are experienced in their respective status and yes they are also both Hungry for title so we will be betting here with complete blindness whom to win.
not like in most fight that there are advantages or bigger reviews? in this fight both are almost the same as valued so yes this will definitely an exciting event that will be recorded for the  boxing industry this 2023.

That's what make this bout a good fight to see next month because even they ranked over and below each other, their power difference are somehow the same and that would likely mean that we might see a close fight that will likely finish in a decision. Although, I like to point out that Magsayo got some kind of advantage over Figueroa as he had some experience already.

I would like to see the same,  since Magsayo  have that experienced he can use that to push his shot and claim the title, not an easy task but if he can pushed for that solid combination he can forced Figueroa to a toe-to-toe confrontation.

Hoping to see that he will take that advantage  to box and corner his opponent and takes the win. Everything will be concluded  after the fight looking to see enjoyable  actions from both fighters.

I think that is somehow expected because Mark Magsayo really want a toe-to-toe fight and not a boring one, the more confrontation, the more chances of him to win the fight because his IQ in the ring has improved and his experience can truly help him for that to have an advantage against Figueroa. He should just take it slow because this fight will be his ticket towards a title fight.
726  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: February 06, 2023, 08:05:37 PM
Messi's current interview suggests he may not play in the next World Cup. In fact, this year's World Cup was organized historically. And witnessing this historic event, Messi's Argentina made history and secured the World Cup. Lionel Messi is now complete in all aspects.
Lionel Messi is very satisfied with his achievements so far in football, he has won almost all competitions either in the league or in international competition with Argentina. So even if he retires later everyone will always remember the historical moment about him. But the 2022 world cup is the pinnacle of his career and with that I think he is done.

Right now we are in 2023 and the 2026 world cup starts in 4 years, which is far away, and Lionel Messi is 35 years old. He indeed got reach many achievements with many teams while playing for Argentina and the clubs he was paying there but playing at age of 39-38 in the world cup is not something many players can reach even the most professional players can't perform like the early years and mostly these players prefer to retire before everyone sees them playing for poor performance level compared to other times and I guess Lionel Messi is one these players.

Might be true mate but you know that it also means that it might not be true to Messi's case because just like you've said, most of the players aren't willing to see themselves performing poorly at that age, that is why they want to retire first before any of that happens. But, you know Messi is not just your average player as he's one of the rarest species in football just like CR7, so that said, he might see him again in the 2026 defending their title.
727  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2022/2023 on: February 06, 2023, 06:40:15 PM
I saw in the final score that Ronaldo scored a goal and saved his new club to get a point, the goal from the penalty spot after the foul was undoubtedly Ronaldo's penalty kick was very accurate, but only by getting 1 point made Al Nassr rise to the top with a score the same as the club below so it's going to be a tight season.
It is not as people expected, I assume people want to see Al-Nassr win the match. Sadly, Al-Nassr only gets 1 point although they have Ronaldo in the lineup. In my opinion, we can't blame Ronaldo, he must already struggle to win the match. But it is a football match, to win the match can't rely on 1 player only. It is all about how the performance of the whole players. I think Al Nassr players are overconfident, so they forget that it is a disaster to underestimate the opponent. They think with Ronaldo, they must win the match. In fact, Ronaldo cannot win the match without a solid game among the whole players.
That's what a player like Ronaldo will get when he moves to a new club, the fans of that club expect big things as well as what happened when he moved from Juventus to Man United and also now at Al Nassr.
It's just that the fans have to be aware of his age and also the Al Nassr players who are used to performing without prominent players now have to do this, maybe there are many players at Al Nassr who haven't been able to conformable with him so he hasn't found the performance he expects but fans and actually the media shouldn't need to make joke of him

For Al Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo had never been an unattainable dream, but if that happened today, they can't make fun of Ronaldo. They should not forget that Cristiano Ronaldo is a top player in the Saudi league, even at the age of 38. It may not be right to expect a performance alone, after all, football is a team game. Along with Cristiano, other players must also contribute to the team as much as possible. It would not be right to expect everything from Ronaldo.

Hopefully, that's the kind of mindset they have right now because from what I've observed in Al Nassr now, they are slacking in every role because they are thinking that there's no need to give their best because the one and only Cristiano Ronaldo is now playing with them side-by-side which make them forgot that this is a team play and a whole team is needed to get a W at the end of the day.

That would be a great deal for the Lakers if that happens but usually, we get to see these trades that are favoring the team that will be left or traded for.
This is an exciting developing story and if the rumors are true then there's an increased chance for the Lakers to be seen continuing to play together with Lebron but, it's on them to do the deal.

What might be the offer that will earn the interest of Nets management, aside from they will release Kyrie and his drama I'm not sure if they will take WB alone, like what you mentioned.

The team will ask for something that will benefit them in order to release their assets,
unless that is okay with the trade offer, then maybe it will happen. Kyrie is asking for it
and the management will take a look at all the offers that they might get to every interested
teams.
Well, look at the surprising news that we have. We thought that Iriving will be going with the Lakers but no, he'll go with the Dallas Mavericks helping Luka. The other details about the trade are on the article.

Props to Mark Cuban for making this happen. You can always count on him to do something crazy. I look forward to reading more about the details of this deal and more so to the drama that come from it and how Mark Cuban chooses to handle it. I get the feeling he won’t put up with Kyrie’s nonsense and will be airing out their dirty laundry in public. If so, this could be news gold for a long time to come.

That goes to show how eager Mark Cuban is to have another championship on his hands, and this time, they will likely reach much further than what they did last time. It's a good news indeed for the entire Dallas Mavericks because they got more help from acquiring Kyrie Irving especially Luka Doncic.

And wait, there's more about the new Dallas Maverick:
Quote
Dallas Mavericks not done making moves after Kyrie Irving deal

Caplan mentions the team has interest in trading away Tim Hardaway Jr., Davis Bertans, and JaVale McGee before the deadline. The Mavs also face a key decision on what to do with Christian Wood. He is on an expiring contract, and Dallas does not want to risk him departing in free agency for nothing as Jalen Brunson did last summer. Wood's extension talks have not gone well, and the front office may decide to trade him out of Dallas.

729  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 05, 2023, 05:45:38 PM
I'm a bit curious about the line of Denver vs Timberwolves. Can anyone explain why Denver is only -1.5 knowing how good they are and the Wolves are struggling? I get that they are into a back-to-back game, but as long as Jokic will not rest, I think they will likely dominate the Wolves.

And also, Jokic will not have a  heavy load carrying the team because they have Murray who fill the points stats already.
Home record, back-to-back games, or possible that there is something that we bettors don't know. Cheesy

The best reason that I know is the home record of the Wolves. There was a time where the Wolves had an 8 straight home game wins (correct me if I'm wrong because I'm not sure with the number, but I'm pretty sure it happened), and the record of the Wolves at home is 19-12. Not that impressive, but I guess enough.

Maybe the fact that the Nuggets are playing back to back might affect their performance as well. I mean they are just humans and just after their game on their home against the Hawks, they will rest a few hours and then travel 14 hours and 8 minutes just to go to Minnesota. I mean just imagine the tiredness of the players. That might also be the reason as well. With this, we might see players not playing for the Nuggets and will give most of the time to their role players thus, affects the odds of gambling websites. Again we don't know. Cheesy

Aaron Gordon and Nikola Jokic has been questionable for days already even against the Warriors last time because of their ankle and hamstring injury, respectively. But both of them are still playing last time against the Hawks even with injuries, now it'll be a back-to-back games for them, let's expect it already as they might rest both stars.

Back to betting lines, I still got the Nuggets ML despite the expectation because even if both named players won't be playing with the team, they have still have Murray and few other role players to defend the lines against the underperforming Wolves. In additional, I also got Grizzlies (-2.5)

To convince the Nets management to move Kyrie, the Lakers will undoubtedly need to make a strong offer. They will need to take into account the deal's total worth in addition to merely handing up WB. The Nets want to ensure that they are receiving something in return that will assist their team and them develop.
It's difficult to know with certainty what the Nets could be searching for. They may be seeking for young players with promise to fill critical roles or for draft selections to establish the foundation for the future. Additionally, it could be both at once. Regardless of the circumstances, the Lakers will need to figure out how to strike a balance between their desire to get Kyrie and what the Nets are seeking in exchange.
There is little doubt, though, that this trade season will be intriguing, and we'll be paying careful attention to what transpires. The Lakers are a strong team with a ton of skill, and if they can complete this deal, they'll be a force to be reckoned with. The way it all turns out and the effect it has on the league as a whole will be fascinating to observe.
Both, as we can see throughout big trades, it involves certain players + future draft picks. We have seen this when Mitchell was traded to Cavs and same with Gobert to T'wolves. But as this point, the Lakers are not willing to trade their future drafts any longer, if I'm not mistaken, they have used it to get Westbrook from Washington. So not sure how the Lakers will go on this trade if they are really interested on getting Kyrie Irving to partner will Lebron. But for now I will say that the Lakers are not willing to trade for Kyrie, it's going to be a big risk for them.

That this is going to be a risk worth taking in my opinion. If they can actually get him on the team and also he can partner well with LeBron James, it is going to be great for Lakers are not performing well enough right now in my opinion.

So, they should take some risks right now if the situation is "high-risk-high-reward". But if the thing the reward might not be as expected, I think there is no problem not getting Kyrie.

Duke Khan

On lighter note this Lebron and Irving duo is already proven they got a championship back on cavs so maybe they can make this happen on Lakers to if Irving is willing to do the same what they perform on their old team. But can't imagine how many picks or player they should trade before they can get this guy since for sure Nets will not give this trade an easy one since they also want to get benefit on this possible trade.

Current trade rumors about Kyrie going to the LA Lakers simulates that the Lakers will at least give 2-first round picks just to acquire him, now I know it's risky because a couple of a first round picks are too valuable for the Lakers now because they are going to have a rebuilding soon enough. But if they badly want an improvement this season, then acquiring Kyrie is the only option because yes, it's already proven that this duo will certainly give the other teams some struggle plus with Davis on the line. This will be interesting if this will materialize as Irving really looks up upon LeBron and I think he won't do any careless actions that will lose the respect towards each other.
732  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 04, 2023, 08:48:48 PM
Pistons vs Charlotte game was very close, it was down to the wire. About the Sixers game, that was an easy win by the 76ers, I guess they are top 3 in the teams that has a good percentage of covering the spread.
Yeah, it was a close one. I was waiting for PJ Washington to be explosive again but it turned out I was expecting nothing. That's two games now without double-digit points while playing 35+ minutes.

9 games later guys. Place your picks.
I saw one crazy spread and I think the Mavericks team will be undermanned against the Warriors.
Golden State Warriors - Dallas Mavericks - Golden State Warriors (-10.5) - Luka out, Dinwiddie questionable, Bertans out, and Christian Wood out.
Frank Ntilikina will probably do the playmaking with Tim helping for the offense. Where is Kemba Walker? I don't see him on their roster.

Denver Nuggets - Atlanta Hawks - Denver Nuggets (-5.5) Jokic questionable, Gordon also questionable. Time for Murray to shine brighter and does MPJ. Back-to-back games for the Hawks after winning against the Jazz yesterday.

Chicago Bulls - Portland Trail Blazers - Chicago Bulls (-4.5) - Vucevic is probable but I think he will play, I saw his name available for player props and I think it's a good sign. Another back-to-back game for the Trail Blazers. Bulls should take advantage of their exhaustion.

Good luck everyone.

Thanks for sharing some details about the upcoming games mate, we really appreciate you for sharing to us your advance picks and its information regarding the possible line-up of the selected match-up.

That said, I'll be riding with you for the Warriors (-10.5) as I do think as well that they can cover the given handicap without any huge struggles as Luka and Wood was already ruled out while Spencer is questionable. And to add that, it will be Clippers (-3.0) because I have a feeling that J. Brunson might rest in this game.
733  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Very thankful for what bitcoin has done for me. on: February 03, 2023, 08:54:48 PM
Bitcoin indeed open up new opportunities for people who are looking for it.  Since the industry of Bitcoin is still too young, there are lots of start-ups that wanted to venture and try the industry in hopes that it will bring them success and huge profit.  With that, those people who are indeed got interested in Bitcoin not only through trading but by doing business or freelance job can find lots of chances to take advantage of this booming trend.
Yes, there are a lot of opportunities outside the fiat world but unless you will never start exploring, you will never come to discover all of these. Thanks to my old friend who has led me to discover bitcoin and now I’m enjoying the profits I have gained from it. Bitcoin is not just an investment alone, but it also offers a lot of jobs opportunities that will suit your skills and capabilities. The reason why people are mostly working remotely because one of the reasons is bitcoin or those crypto jobs.
734  Economy / Economics / Re: Can commodities return to its price last year? on: February 03, 2023, 08:20:22 PM
The economic problem that often occurs is inflation or rising commodity prices, and it is very difficult to make commodity prices fall due to many factors. Of course, the producers have done everything they can to keep their products from rising, but because the increase in production costs is unavoidable, it will automatically increase. make the price go up.
As inflation stays longer, then expect that prices of commodities too will never return to their low prices but will always increase day after day. It’s better to expect and assume it that way so we will be more motivated to increase our income and develop multi sources of income as much as possible so we will never be completely affected with this inflation that I even think will now stay for good.
Right. The high prices will never return to its original prices anymore as inflation might never be gone anymore. So if we don’t want to be highly affected with this, I guess finding more jobs that will give us a passive income is the right thing to do as relying alone from a single job can never sustain all our basic needs because of the prices increasing gradually.
735  Economy / Economics / Re: When your passive income equals or slightly above your salary, what would you do on: February 03, 2023, 07:57:07 PM
Before leaving your current job and go full-time with your passive income you should consider the following factor:

1.  Your financial stability.
2.  Your passion
3.  Your work balance.

If you feel that your passive income can bring you financial instability then by all means you can leave your current job.
If your passion for work states otherwise (just like you say @OP that you detest your current job) unless the first factor is met then by all means you have to endure your current job.
If should also be aware if your current job has a bad impact in your health.  If it is then better quit your current job than your life quit for you.
I would not hesitate to say just leave your job if you think that is not healthy at all. But never stop from looking for a replacement job aside from your side job because it’s still different if you have a main job that provides your main income, and you have an additional job that gives you a passive income. That way, even if your side job disappears, your finances will not shake and you won’t be struggling on how to sustain your needs.
736  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The 4 trading fears and how to overcome them on: February 03, 2023, 07:40:55 PM
Let me add some fear that everyone can relate to.

It's the unpredictability of what could happen when you are trading. It's like a combination of your fears and making sure they are being feared as a collection and not just a single fear. It sums up this, and it's one of the things that you are always going to consider. If you add the concern, it equates to not knowing what will happen in the future, hence the unpredictability and things not going your way.

It's best to protect yourself by risk management all the way. That's the best way always.
No one can predict what would be the outcome of one’s trading so it’s natural to fear on it especially if you are still a newbie in trading. However, if you are already a trader for how many years, even if you don’t know what will be the result of your trading, but the fact that you’re a pro now and you are more now aware on how to minimize losses, then mostly you will end up a successful trading. The market is unpredictable, but with good skills  and working strategies in trading, you will make your trade end up more positively.

Let's revive this topic, because I saw that there are some new videos based on which it seems that Bitcoin is very well accepted in Boracay. I am also interested in whether any of the forum members may have visited the island and may want to share their experiences? @Beparanf

BITCOIN ISLAND in BORACAY [DOCUMENTAIRE] || Overleven met BITCOIN in de Filipijnen [ENG SUBTITLES]
That’s great news seeing bitcoin has definitely got high demand in Boracay. I am really setting my plan to finally visit this beautiful island together with my family, hopefully we can do it this year. I haven’t seen the videos for now but I have to check for it later on. Well, this could be a good start for Philippines to finally adopt bitcoin as this could bring huge benefits not only to bitcoin users alone, but to the country’s economy as well.
738  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto YouTubers are all financial advisors on: February 02, 2023, 09:45:36 PM
Aren't they supposed to keep their financial advice to themselves if they don't want to be a financial advisor? Yeah, I think the perfect way to stay away from been a financial advisor is to keep your ideas to yourself, don't say a word about it.
...
Oh, I almost forget, it pays to be a YouTuber, you need a niche to talk about per se,
You have the question and the answer.
YouTubers and "influencers" are paid to shill projects to their audience and hope they buy into it. And you don't assume someone to be a financial advisor cause they made a couple of videos talking about the potential outcome of an investment. On this forum price speculation is talked about a lot, and we discuss what the future of Bitcoin is going to be, that doesn't make the users here advisors, does it?

You can't expect people to stop doing what they profit from, you can only advice investors to do their own research.
YouTubers and crypto influencers are getting an income out from hyping those projects that are also paying them so expect that they will do everything so that the audience will be more convinced and finally buy in their project. The moment those new investors will start investing in the project, regardless if the project has huge potentials or not, that means a success to the project owner, and of course to the promoters themselves. So even if being financial advisor is not really an appropriate thing to do, but I think YouTubers have no choice actually but to make believe the audience and think that those projects are really something profitable to invest.
739  Economy / Economics / Re: Keeping money and keeping bitcoins? are they similar? on: February 02, 2023, 07:59:16 PM
They are not, keeping money is something that will cause you to lose, because if you have 100 dollars today, what you can buy with that 100 dollars will not be the same as what you can buy with that 10 years ago, or 10 years later.

However, the hope is that bitcoin is not like that, people hope that if you buy bitcoin today, you could buy more things with it in the future, because it has gone up all the time. Look where it was 10 years ago, barely started to get some attention, and we are seeing it be huge last year and even bigger in the future hopefully. That's why it's so important to have some sort of understanding where it can lead to and I believe it will be great.
While fiat money depreciates in time, bitcoin value continue to surge high year after year. So keeping both of them has different effects in the future. But when asked if saving money in time develops the attitude of saving bitcoin as a long term investment, yes it is. Because once you started as a good saver in fiat and you have practiced it especially when you’re still a kid, then most likely you will be good enough to save bitcoin without hassles. That is when you also have high faith in bitcoin too that you can save it without being bothered by price drops.
740  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So far so good with Bitcoin adoption on my side but I have question on: February 01, 2023, 09:57:38 PM
I wish there is a way that I can show families on here how successful I have bring numbers of people into Bitcoin between 2021 - 2023, it's been so great and I am very happy about it, I have fresh newbies at hand right now,  two of them are from the same university 🎓, I have spent 6 weeks with them teaching and answering questions about Bitcoin and wallets, now they decide to purchase their first set of Bitcoin.

Here is where I am confused, the present value of Bitcoin is growing, some said it's because of the Chinese New year Holiday aka Year of the Rabbit, since I got mine at 17,000 and 15,000 I feel it's wrong to tell these newbies to buy at 23,000$

Have I done the right thing by telling them to wait for some correction before buying or you famz have a better idea? Because right now I don't see anything thing better than to wait, double bottom is always possible with Bitcoin in bear markets.
Tell them to buy when the market is purely in bearish because the price is certainly low. But do not resort in setting the price for them to buy because that is already indulging yourself into their own decision. If you don’t want to be blame for their future losses, then stay out of it. But I believe as long as they always chose bitcoin for investment, they will always be gaining good returns from it as long as they are aware about the basics in buying and selling bitcoin.
