861  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Soros Fund Management CIO Hints at Bitcoin Ownership on: July 02, 2021, 05:04:33 AM
All the rich people invest in crypto, but they don't talk about it.
They don't want the spotlight in them, most elite like to work in the shadows pulling the strings if possible. For me though, this isn't a good news because I find it pretty skeptical that they are making it known they allegedly own some bitcoin meaning that there's a likely chance that they want to see how easy it is to manipulate the market with just a rumor.
862  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Test for free our new futures exchange, and get paid bitcoin! on: July 02, 2021, 04:34:07 AM
I have a question, what if there's a whim of chance that someone hit the 100x in your leverage with the mBtc that you have provided, do you have enough bitcoin to cover the cost? Because as you have said in your thread, you are just a start up website.

Great question. Yes, we will always have enough bitcoins to pay any profits! However, like most other futures exchanges, we do have an auto-deleverage system. This means that, if you open a 100x long position and price rises too much too fast, causing short positions to be liquidated, and if there is not enough liquidity on the book to close short positions, long positions with highest leverage may be forced to close their positions.

During auto-deleverage, our positions are always closed at a price between the bid/ask. Some other exchanges have badly designed auto-deleverage mechanisms that close positions are a price unrelated to the current orderbook -- this is sometimes called a 'clawback'. We don't do anything like that.

So positions will be usually closed at fair prices (or even better than usual prices if the liquidating positions caused some slippage). If prices move suddenly, though, or if prices move during an exchange outage, highly-leveraged positions may see smaller profits than what one might expect.

For example if you buy bitcoin with high-leverage at $35,000, current price is $36,000 and price start going up really fast and there is no liquidity to liquidate short position, at some point (maybe if it hits $40,000) you may see your position closed automatically at a profit. It price keeps rising after that, you may be disappointed later that your position was closed. But if the prices falls back after that, so you may even be glad we closed your position for you!

Even so, we'll have an insurance fund in the future to prevent auto-deleverage events from happening.
I really thought that my question was a stupid one. Another question I have is regarding this auto-deleveraging system, isn't that kind of interfering with the users decisions? Don't get me wrong, I see the point of doing that but I think the users who do do high-leverage knows what they are doing I guess.

864  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not just a currency, but represents a new human civilization on: July 01, 2021, 11:06:00 AM
I think that bitcoin being a crux that will lift the civilization in a new age is a bit of a stretch and exaggeration in my opinion because it's not like bitcoin is going to be able to solve the wars or the hunger around the world alone. Can bitcoin power cities with energy? I don't think so, you want to know what the foundation of our civilization is? It's electricity, try ro remove it out of the equation and we will have millions of death in just 2 hours without electricity.
865  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: George Soros is now officially trading bitcoin. Good or bad? on: July 01, 2021, 09:15:06 AM
It's both a good and a bad in my opinion because as you have said, Soros is a ruthless financier meaning that with his money he can probably move the market to his liking and have people get in and fatten up the prices and pull out all the money and profit out of the losses of those who followed. It's good because it means that the market will have more players on the field and the prices are going to up.
866  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Estrada vs Gonzalez Trilogy - Oct 16 on: July 01, 2021, 08:22:36 AM
I enjoyed their last fight so hopefully but sides will give their best performance to make a good show of skill and power. Probably another UD will happen on this one which is good for me because for me it's not important who gets knocked out, what I want is a dragged fight that ends with both side still standing.
867  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Million dollar win on $15 parlay whoa on: July 01, 2021, 07:36:46 AM
What a luck!

I wonder what is the maximum profit a user can get from betting on that bookie. It must be huge tho. $1.36 million could ruin the bookie's bankroll. AFAIK, at crypto casinos, the max win on a bet would around $50k.  Wink
The guy's definitely lucky, isn't parlay a hard thing to get wins over? That amount of money could change someone's life in an instant. I think that the bookie will probably do a pay out of installments to this person if possible because that's a lot of money and in gambling like lottery, you don't get the whole winnings in a lump sum because it needs to be taxed but nonetheless this is a life changing thing.
868  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcasino.io 💜 — Curve coin = everything you need to know❗ on: July 01, 2021, 06:54:24 AM
I’ve never been aware of Curve before to be honest Karl. It’s currently trading at $1.83 so certainly no harm throwing a couple of hundred $ in. It’s only existed since 2020 so definitely worth investing in. Could probably reach $10 within a few years. Really interesting article, thanks Karl.
Hey thanks for this one, I think I would have to add another coin to my portfolio besides bitcoin and ethereum. I think that I can probably profit if I buy now that the prices are low, I will probably catch the pump and just sell it there.
869  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔥🎲Tower.bet 🎲🔥 New Platform arrived 🎲Crash 🎲 HiLo 🎲 Wheel 🎲Contests 🎲 on: July 01, 2021, 05:58:55 AM
Guys, we seem to have an issue with automatic smart contracts crediting, so if your transaction is taking longer than usual, please fill the form to contact our support  vis support@tower.bet!
A friend of mine who asked for a site to gamble and I referred your website to my friend and he did ask me about this one and good thing that I have seen this post, I will tell him about this because he is worried about the money that he has put in your crediting. It's nice of you to be able to have a support for this.
870  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where can I find a fair payout and gambling site? on: July 01, 2021, 05:24:08 AM
You're not even asking for a gambling site that has a fair payout, you are just promoting a website that you are using and probably you own that website or you are a stakeholder in that casino. I will humor you though, I would shill for my signature campaign Bitvest.io, Sportsbet.io, Bustabit and Bustadice. They have a fair payouts and the three of them, you can invest in their bankroll and earn some money.
871  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Using crypto to help the homeless - (for real - with pics!) on: July 01, 2021, 04:42:08 AM
thank you sincerely. I am stepping up the man-power in this project to get the meals handed out quicker.
You should probably add more projects to help the homeless like giving them homes or probably jobs or you already have that in mind because for me, free food is noble but it can't be a permanent solution to homelessness if you know what I'm saying. Or you could probably use more man power by recruiting the homeless themselves so they at the least don't feel that bad getting free food because they are helping others. Hopefully I can donate to you this year but the money's tight for me too.
872  Economy / Speculation / Re: Using BTC only for Trading? on: June 30, 2021, 01:27:38 PM
The advantage of trading BTC only is the fact that it's less manipulated by pumps and dumps since it has the highest trading volume.
Are you for real? Bitcoin not being manipulated that much? I don't think so, let me give you some example: Elon Musk tweets, whales making waves, and China FUD are some that I can think of in terms of manipulating the prices. To OP, this should be moved to Trading Discussion, at the lower left of this thread you can see "Move Topic", you can click it and there you can choose where you want to move it.
873  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and pension fund on: June 30, 2021, 12:53:27 PM
1. If bitcoin continues to be as volatile as ever then probably we won't see it being added as aprt of pension funds unless they are traded in the market but I don't think that pension funds will want something risky being added to it.

2. Not everyone can afford it and I don't know if this is just in my country but gold can't be taken out when you buy it from a bank and you have to pay storage fee for them to safekeep the gold.

Gold is not a legal tender, bitcoin is not a legal tender except in El Salvador, only legal tender (fiat) can be used to pay pension. Who mostly pay pension? The government, government will like to use their fiat currency.
Maybe back then but right now gold not being considered a legal tender is already not true depending on which state or country you are because in Louisiana, Utah and Texas, they have a legislation that considers gold as a legal tender.
874  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will other countries adopt Bitcoin as legal tender after El Salvador's recent mo on: June 30, 2021, 08:56:35 AM
for other poor countries it is possible, but for big countries like America, China and countries in Europe they will not do it. legalizing bitcoin as a means of payment is a difficult thing to accept. they fear the rate of money laundering will increase, because bitcoin is essentially decentralized. they may prefer to make their own version of digital money using blockchain. they want to have control so that there are no financial problems in their country.
The problem with that though is that poor countries doesn't have enough funds or infrastructure to support or sustain the adoption for a long-term which is problematic because that means that a lot of their projects that was funded by the taxes of the people will only be put into waste because it didn't last.
875  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi’s Bitcoin whitepaper to be removed from Bitcoin.org? on: June 30, 2021, 08:20:18 AM
Like Cobra said, all the more reason to prove why Bitcoin is needed. I can't believe that clown is still forcing himself upon the community. Worse, I can't believe he actually has droves of supporters still crazy enough to fall for him.

Then again, I've seen enough of this world to know I should believe all that is happening.
Actually great that Cøbra lost this case because that means that his points about why we need bitcoin more than ever. Although it's a sad day for bitcoin with the whitepaper being taken down. The real problem in the case of people still believing in something like this is that people aren't informed and they are afraid of the truth so they want someone that can tell them sweet lies.
876  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China's game plan on: June 30, 2021, 07:29:50 AM
To be honest we don't really know but one thing that I am sure of when it comes to China's long-term plan is that they are planning to be a dominant country around the world because look at their expansion in Africa and their takeover of Taiwan, Hongkong and other countries in South China Sea.
I wonder if this is somehow linked to how much gold they have been accumulating.
I don't think see any connections and they don't have the biggest gold reserve in the world I think but they sure have a lot of it. Their game plan is probably to outlast other countries in terms of longevity.

878  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gov must have power to reverse transactions, says co-chair of blockchain caucus on: June 30, 2021, 05:11:47 AM
I wouldn't care about it being implemented if there aren't any people that will use it for sinister or malicious purposes but given that it's not the case, I don't think that it is a good idea even if they try to put a lot of positives to outweigh the negatives.
879  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Never sell your Bitcoin? on: June 30, 2021, 04:33:14 AM
With your title, you are subconsciously priming people to say that they shouldn't sell so that means that the general consensus will eventually favor not selling their bitcoin If you can gain a really big profit margin, you might as well sell it all because you can just sell it back when the prices go down again, nothin wrong with getting profits out of hodling.
880  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mechanism for Retrieving lost BTC on: June 29, 2021, 11:27:17 AM
A. lost of private keys of the users
- If you don't have a back up or you don't have anything to prove that you are the owner of the private key then your bitcoin is essentially lost.
B. Death of BTC owners
- For this one, I think having the important details printed on a paper for safekeeping that your loved ones can get access to your wallet is enough to insure that your death will result to another loss of bitcoin.
C. Error by BTC users.
- I don't know much about this one but I am pretty sure that it can still be fixed.
