Welcome back to the Bundesliga Sami, I guess.  Cheesy

Sami Khedira returns to Germany with Hertha Berlin from Juventus after few weeks of inactivity. I think he should be able to kick on and start enjoying football once again. Class they say is permanent' Sami first match could be against league leaders Bayern Munich

Pretty much the same as with Huntelaar on Schalke. Hertha needs experienced players while they have mostly bought young and talented ones in this season so far. I don't think that Khedira could have much impact on the game style of Hertha, but his experience and charisma could be enough help to give the many young players self-confidence in this difficult situation.
1743  Economy / Economics / Re: after gamestop's short squeeze, reddit turns to doge. 600%+ today on: February 02, 2021, 05:47:04 PM
Gamestop stock is now just over $100. It looks like the attack is on its last legs and the question will be whether the hedge funds will hit back and go massively short again or if they will wait and see. With the former, the game could start all over again. There are also increasing reports that one or the other small investor has made massive losses as a result of the campaign. As always, there are winners and losers.

1746  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When sell holding alt coin in profit? on: February 01, 2021, 04:00:51 PM
When should long-held alt coins be sold? When to sell even when we are in profit? That doesn't make sense. Let me know if there is a suitable alternative to this issue.

Depends:
  • If you have a shitcoin you should find an appropriate time to get out of it before it collapses. It is mostly when the hype train reached its peak.
  • If you have a valuable coin (such as Bitcoin for instance) then I would only sell if I would need money to cover my bills or to buy stuff, but not to hold fiat instead.
1747  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HAHA! XRP haters missing out on: February 01, 2021, 03:57:41 PM
Lol. Some people just hate for no reason. Kudos to those that invested in XRP when it was at 17ish cents. The future looks bright for the hodlers. Hehe.

Wow what an insane increase. I hope you read the ironic component from my first sentence. In principle, the ascent is just a small countermovement after the fall. That was to be expected and does not yet indicate whether XRP has a future.

PS: Kudos to those who have invested in Doge;)
1748  Economy / Economics / Re: after gamestop's short squeeze, reddit turns to doge. 600%+ today on: January 31, 2021, 07:50:56 PM
It is interesting to see small investors competing against institutional whales and making some money.

This reddit community is becoming powerful

Occupy Wallstreet 2.0 if you will.
In principle, people act in a decentralized manner en masse and are therefore difficult to attack. Not like back then when many protested 6-7 years ago in front of the central banks and stock exchanges around the world. It's kind of an evolution. So I'm curious to see how things will continue and if this movement grows or slowly die like Occupy Wallstreet 1.0.
1749  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Thailand government seeks measures to tackle the problems of illegal gambling. on: January 31, 2021, 07:15:17 PM
In terms of this topic, the government of Thailand is having a problem with underground gambling,

In principle, it is also an indirect message that there are problems with criminal organizations or the mafia, because they are the ones who rule a large part of underground gambling. So in order to drive back illegal gambling, these criminal associations must first be smashed. A few private people who meet regularly to play poker are certainly not the problem.
1750  Economy / Economics / Re: The GameStop drama and what does it mean for Bitcoin on: January 31, 2021, 07:09:27 PM
That is the most unbelievable part. Now there is a clash of interest between those who were mocked bad by a whole reddit community (Robinohood), those who have been basically drained (hedge funds) and those who made a quick buck (WSB).
To me the most important thing of this whole story is that this showed how much power crowdsourced masses have. Using this huge power for the good or the bad can have huge consequences in the real life. How ready are we for that?

I agree with you that a large crowd can have a big impact. The hole short squeeze looks very similar to the Porsche, VW take over where short sellers had to cover their positions quickly. But eventually the prices got back to normal. The next weeks will show how the gamestop drama is going to end. Will we see prices drop down to the old levels again and who is going to get hurt the most? The hedge funds said they already closed their positions, but who knows if its true. Maybe they still are losing money.

The game can go on for a while, but in the end GameStop's shares will tend to zero as the company is basically broke. I just don't hope the hedge funds will lose so much that some of them, and perhaps banks too, will need government support. Then tax money would be due for the whole action.

1752  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: January 30, 2021, 12:02:08 PM
He is 37 and turns 38 in half a year. I doubt that he will have much influence when it comes to the gameplay. He will be more like a psychological factor for the team. Having someone in team that is/was called hunter could give the team more more confidence, especially young and less experienced players.

Huntelaar had his first training yesterday and stopped after 15 minutes. That doesn't sound very promising to me.

But their twitter says nothing about it. Only that he was going to train individually. Let's hope he can play next match.

https://twitter.com/s04_en/status/1354385999770607616

Huntelaar is a very important player for Schalke. I know that he is going to retire this summer. But I hope he starts playing again soon and continues to make important contributions to the team before retiring. Schalke conceded too many goals so far and scored very few. I believe that he can help this problem to be solved despite his age. But after the summer, they need to make the necessary transfers for the weak points. It looks like they will be relegating but they can come back strongly if they do the right things.

When he came back at Ajax it was also more to learn the younger players. Lets say he would be important in the trainings.

But he still had the driver and when he played he kept scoring. So for Schalke he can be helpful if he doesn't get any injuries. At his age is harder to recover quickly.

Yeap, what I meant. He can be very helpful from the psychological side but I doubt he will help much on the pitch. Schalke has the chance to score points against Bremen today. If they don't, then it's pretty much over. To get out of the table basement you have to win games like this.

First comes first serves Smiley
1754  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DOGE To The Moon on: January 29, 2021, 11:28:11 AM
Today I saw the price of DOGE very high on the Binance exchange, I immediately sold all the DOGE that I have. After I found out why the DOGE price hike was due to tweets from WSB Chairman and Elon Musk. I wonder. Why do famous people's tweets have such an effect on the price of an asset?

Primarily because such tweets signal that this or that famous person is going to invest or has already invested in these coins. Secondly, it is a signal that everyone else can also follow suit and invest in coins.

No, not really. Elon Musk never wrote directly that he was investing in Doge. He uses Doge a lot more as a meme. That's why I don't think rich or famous people invest in Doge. It is much more the crowd that chases after some meme tweets and hopes to quickly jump on the train before the price collapses again. It's pretty like pump and dump.
1755  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: January 29, 2021, 11:24:00 AM
It will be difficult for Spurs in the next few gameweeks to play without Kane as he is involved in 23 goals from the 34 goals in the Premier league.

I enjoyed watching the match and to see that Liverpool seems to be back on track. I agree with you regarding Tottenham. They have difficult matches in front, among other things, against Chelsea. It will be very exciting to see whether the top eight teams will stay that close together or whether the wheat will slowly separate from the chaff. The former would definitely be very good for the tension.
1756  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bounty hunters are getting axed harder on: January 29, 2021, 11:19:05 AM
I look backward and see a lot of challenge facing bounty hunters and I can only see that things will get harder. The mental stress of looking for the right bounty to promote, waking up in the middle of the night for several hours to complete tasks for months just to realized you won't get $1 for all your time.

To be honest, the tasks you have to do are only promotional for the project. The projects don't get any real use from it, other than a little attention. In the past, when every project was pumped, bounties for such tasks were perfectly profitable, but the days are over. Really serious projects today have to submit to regulation and only distribute a small part of the tokens via bounties for free, so you only get a few cents or dollars out of it. In addition, the market is now flooded with bounty hunters from many poorer countries. That is why you should specialize and stand out from the crowd, e.g. by doing translations or otherwise working on a project. This increases the chance to get big bounties enormously.

Well, the speculation kids are looking for new targets after RobinHood and others have banned the trade in Gamestop and other shares. Now they are coming into the crypto market. Admittedly, an investment in Doge makes more sense than valuing a bankrupt company like Gamestop at 40 billion.
You can see what too much money printing triggers. And soon the Biden administration wants to print even more money.
1758  Economy / Economics / Re: The GameStop drama and what does it mean for Bitcoin on: January 29, 2021, 11:07:45 AM
The thing of RH closing kinda shows how centralised the exchanges are (especially for small cap stocks like this. One of two international exchanges stopped trading it and the rest just followed (even cross continent). It also didn't seem to be listed in premium exchanger services (ones you pay a fee per trade and a maintenance fee on the account...

The U.S. are the Motherland of Capitalism and will it be forever and ever. period.

there is no chance for any other country to replace it even not for the CCP.

Wrong! The motherlands of capitalism are United Kingdom and the Netherlands [1]. If you take it very seriously, then the Netherlands. Capitalism is not bad. Without it a large part of the population today belonging to the middle and upper classes would be poor. It is just not allowed to be uninhibited capitalism like e.g. Manchester capitalism but rather a tamed capitalism such as the social market economy.

1759  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: January 28, 2021, 04:17:04 PM
Tuchel made his debut and the match ended 0-0. It is not easy for anyone to be successful in their first game. If Tuchel catches the air in the team, Chelsea will be good too, but this year my championship favorite is MANU.

I think Chelsea showed more commitment and performance in the match yesterday than in the last matches under Lampard. They just didn't win even though they were the better team. So you can already see progress through the new coach. Of course it takes a little time, but I think Tuchel can shape the team. By the way, his nickname in Germany is "Tactic T-Rex" Smiley
1760  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeFi Tokens on: January 28, 2021, 04:09:46 PM
Do you still have other suggestions or ideas that you think might work on investing DeFi tokens? What are the good DeFi tokens that you think that would be profitable in the next few years?

The only DeFi token I really can recommend is UniSwap, because they have a working business model. The other DeFi projects I've read on promise a lot, but it's unlikely that they'll hold up. Hence, many DeFi projects are extremely overpriced. Similar to most ICO projects 2-3 years ago, which hardly anyone speaks of today.
