1681  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: February 23, 2021, 08:41:43 PM
Given the current high fees, I wonder if Ethereum has any solution planned to reduce Gas fees in the future? Will PoS solve the problem or at least contain it? With every hype, we can observe that there are enormous increases in gas prices. Very annoying when you interact with the network regularly.
Berlin Network Upgrade Specification
https://github.com/ethereum/eth1.0-specs/blob/master/network-upgrades/berlin.md
Berlin's hard fork will not solve these problems.
Phase 1 Ethereum 2.0 won't solve these problems either.
Some users may prefer to run Ethereum transactions on the Ethereum 2.0 network after Phase 1, but all smart contracts will also work on the Ethereum 1.0 network.

That means there is currently no implementation planned that will improve the fee problem in any way? Is there at least a long-term plan for this or is the network designed in such a way that it won't work any other way?
1682  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DOGE To The Moon on: February 23, 2021, 11:45:32 AM
if you check the charts , you will see some kind of patern , like every 3-4 years this happens and it began in 2013-14 next bullrun was 2017-18 and now 2020-2021.
next time if i buy doge ( under 20 sats)  , i will hold to  it till the next run or till the end of doge ...

Interesting, so what's going to happen next? Are we going to see a big dump, then the market will be in a bear market before bitcoin will start to rise again? If that pattern will still happen, then probably lots of people are already waiting for it and they will buy DOGE cheap again or accumulate in preparation of the next pump.

Well I expect a big dump in the next week. Maybe they try to pump it again before they dump all but it can't stay at this price for so long.

I dont think it will be back soon at the 20~30 range because as you said everyone will try to buy DOGE at such price.

Is just starting. Let's be honest. Without the push from Elon Musk, Doge wouldn't even be worth a quarter, probably less. If Musk is looking for other objects in crypto space or beyond, the price will collapse and a prolonged decline begins again.

Liverpool has had little unrest and controversy in the team in the past two successful seasons, in contrast to this season. Liverpool started the season very well. Then came the unrest around Mo Salah and Barcelona and on the other hand it turned out that the new central figure Thiago does not really work. Liverpool's style of play is different from that of Bayern, where he played outstandingly over years.

Manchester Utd has the best midfielder in the EPL and the world right now. Bruno Fernandes is their player of the season. I have confidence that he has really made a remarkable impact in the team so far. If Bruno keeps up this form than anything can possible. His stats keep me positive to think about positive.

I think Manchester City has better midfield but United is good too. Best in the world? I don't think so. Probably Bayern München has the best midfield in the world.
İlkay Gündoğan is having his best season so far. De Bruyne is playing at his standard. Young Foden and experienced Fernandinho completed the midfield. I respect your opinion though I don't fully agree on it.

Manchester United is finally a team and not a collection of individualists anymore. Solskjær has done a very good job, even if he was rather controversial at the beginning due to his coaching inexperience. And they have the trend on their side. Won the last 13 games, that reminds me of the streak of Liverpool last season.
1688  Local / Altcoins (Deutsch) / Re: [Diskussion] - [Obyte]: komplett neuer Konsens-Algorithmus und private Zahlungen on: February 22, 2021, 11:50:24 AM

1689  Economy / Economics / Re: Mastercard Bitcoin Global Adoption? on: February 22, 2021, 11:46:18 AM
It will work like PayPal where all transactions are not part of the blockchain, and their numbers are just part of their own data, ...

Do you have any information/prove about this? I'm watching the development of the blockchain integration of the major payment providers and so far I haven't been able to find any details from Mastercard on how they want to integrate the stablecoins. Maybe you have other sources. Would be interesting to know.

Just re-rechecked, the site seems to be offline Huh Could have been a short-term test with no intention of being discovered by the public. Just made another scan and couldn't find another domain that points to BTC for now.

It was painful to watch Barcelona lose but that Dortmund win cheered my day. Haaland and Mbappe's performances were spectacular. I wonder where will Haaland go next season, clearly Dortmund can't hold him more. Maybe Real Madrid make a move for him, they need a good striker.

I didn't get to watch the match between Barcelona and PSG, but when I saw the results it really surprised me. What's wrong with Barcelona? how come they were humiliated by PSG which in that match were the guests. Did they play very badly in that match?

This is not a surpise. The club has been rumbling for a few months. Barca is hit hard by the pandemic. The club has 1.2 billion in debt and over 256 million will be due by mid-year. Plus the whole Messi topic, then the change in the board, etc.
1693  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: February 18, 2021, 05:13:20 PM
Lots of interesting matches coming up! I count on Atletico to win against Chelsea... Bookmakers do not pick a clear winner and the odds for both teams to win are quite high! In my opinion Atletico looks stronger!

I would bet the opposite. Chelsea have had a very good run after changing the coach and they have improved from game to game so far. The odds speak against Chelsea and that's exactly what's interesting about placing a small bet on a Chelsea win.
1694  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Help choosing altcoins to invest on: February 18, 2021, 05:06:50 PM
Choose Ada Cardano for long term. Cardano is very bright future
Bitcoin had certain drawbacks....then ETH came along and fixed those an the majority of other Crypto’s use a version of ETH’s coding.

Acording to the course Cardano, NEO, EOS & Tezos are all FIXES to the problems in ETH’s code.

While any of the 4 that have fixed problems in ETH’s code could possibly win...CARDANO May be leading the way, plus the founder of Cardano was one of the founders of ETH and might have the most likelihood to succeed. But do some more research, or just buy a small stake. 😊

The best Ethereum challenger is Waves in my opinion. It has many advantages over Cardano and NEO. Waves has increased tenfold in the past few months and the price will continue to rise. I am surprised that everyone always only has NEO or Cardano in view, but completely forgot about Waves.
1695  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Newbie gambling sites on: February 17, 2021, 10:49:37 AM
I would like to deposit a small amount of Bitcoin for gambling purposes. I would like a few suggestions of websites that have you've used yourself and are trusted/safe to use for newbie gamblers?
Not interested in sport betting or anything similar, just something to try my luck and kill some time once in a while.

If you ask this way, I would recommend a good reputable site with a nice bonus for beginners. Most Bitcoin casinos don't differ in quality, only in the promotions they offer and there is one that I think stands out: Bitstarz where you get 20 free spins on Fruit Zen slot without deposit. Alternatively, BetChain and FortuneJack also offers free spins for beginners without deposit.
1696  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you rely on the odds when placing bets? on: February 17, 2021, 10:44:55 AM

I view odds as nothing but representation of majority view towards a certain event. And that makes odds very very manipulative. In 2016, people's opinion of Donald Trump winning was so low, and it's like a cycle, people thought Trump won't win, the odds adjusted themselves, and people after seeing the odds believed it more. In sports, odds become much more dangerous to trust, because there is a huge luck factor as well, even the strongest player can get injured!

In sports it is also the result of the latest events of this or that team... For example, if an outsider suddenly wins several games in a row by chance, then his odds will increase in the following games...

But that doesn't happen because of the bookmakers, but because more bettors predict a victory for the outsider. The bookmaker always tries to adjust the odds so that it makes profits. Depending on how many bettors bet on a certain outcome, the odds change accordingly. I think sometimes that is not so clear to everyone.

Currently this year's EPL trophy is in Manchester City pocket ...

There are still 15 match days and ManCity is just 7 points ahead. I wouldn't say the season is over. ManCity started the season weak and is now very stable. A small phase of weakness and ManUnited and even Chelsea can catch up and make the season exciting again.

Nice find!

Thanks, it catched my eyes while observing some big companies for crypto-related subdomains. If someone is interested how to do, you can use a simple VPS ($5 a month) and use Amass [1] tool which I integrated into a bash script which informs me by email when a big cooperation uses a subdomain with some terms like "Bitcoin", "BTC", etc.

Tesla is not letting any time pass and is already working on the pilot project for Bitcoin integration. https://pilot-bpay.tesla.com/login is the website for it. Looks like they use BTCPay Server for payments.
