1861  Economy / Lending / Re: Bryan Micon's List of BTC Ponzi Schemes that should not be listed as "Lending" on: August 14, 2012, 01:24:07 PM
Micon, why is bitdaytrade on the list. I couldn't care less, but having legit stuff on there kindof invalidates the whole list. At least give reasons.

I thought that one was self-explanatory.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=81357.0

Joel is all over it already & gives very clear explanations of this particular scam.
1862  Economy / Lending / Re: Bryan Micon's List of BTC Ponzi Schemes that should not be listed as "Lending" on: August 14, 2012, 12:20:54 AM
Cute that you added your sitepro stats, from 2007 to 2012 you earned the following per year before deducting any backing funds, this comes in most places far less than any minimum wage and you wonder why people in the poker community laugh at you calling yourself a pro.

2012   $ 32,832   $ 32,832 -> After backer fees this may aswell read $0.
2011   $ 65,596   $ 65,596 -> You cant afford slots with this yearly income so who did you scam to roll you for slot mastery ?
2010   $ 34,066   $ 34,066 -> After backer fees this is likely closer to $0 aswell, true champ.
2009   $ 77,287   $ 77,287 -> Great year, still far below any average educated job, must have gone on a diet this year.
2008   $ 30,419   $ 30,419 -> Not sure how you could afford your own home with this yearly income before taxes.
2007   $ 6,021   $ 6,021 -> deduct backer fees, I bet you ate sand this whole year, Im sure you dont want to be back in 2007.

Like I said before you may have been a decent player up till 2006 but I would guess mostly a lucky donk when competition was as easy as pie but since then it clearly shows you are anything but a surviving poker player.

If I cared more I would have traced down to the $0 on your tournament winnings. No need for me to even look at your sng winnings, thats all in the minus in recent years.

seriously, willing to debate you endlessly on a topic I am an expert in and you are making wild and odd accusations.  Wrong thread though.  This 1 is about massive Ponzi schemes
1863  Other / Meta / Re: "HYIP" subforum on: August 13, 2012, 11:29:27 PM

This is too subjective. Some would say that even BS&T has revealed its business model sufficiently.

1)  No man of science would say that

2)  HYIP is fine, or how about "1000%+ APY investments"
1864  Other / Meta / Re: Gathering Opinions: Stickies in Lending on: August 13, 2012, 11:26:54 PM
If I find one (or even a few) rotten apples in a basket, should I then label the basket "Rotten apples"?

no you shouldn't.  But only rotten apples should be in the basket labeled such.  further more there are many of them.

I further propose to list what they are:  1000%+ APY investment offers from anonymous internet people.  A catergory re-name to:

"1000%+ APY investments"

seems best to me right now.  That is factually correct, and by nature those with fundamental understanding of economics will know that grouping will be all scams
1865  Economy / Lending / Re: Bryan Micon's List of BTC Ponzi Schemes that should not be listed as "Lending" on: August 13, 2012, 11:14:03 PM
There's also some buzz recently occurring with regard to the mining "bonds". Apparently only recently did some finally become aware that with these mh/s "bonds" that as long as difficulty goes up, the bond issuer never needs to buy any mining capacity whatsoever and could meet all dividend payments as agreed to simply by paying out from principal.   While not technically a "ponzi", there hasn't been much in the way of vetting to ensure the mining operator truly had control of the expected mining capacity.

Thought I'ld cc: some links here in case anyone might care to see how that all works as well:

 - http://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=100303.0

So we can now add, in bulk, all mining bonds to the OP list of Ponzis.

Holy crap there is not a single investement that is not a Ponzi.

many BTC investment vehicles are scams on this board.  Yes, it is shocking how many.

I will investigate the Mining bonds as well.  I agree there is a good possibility of Ponzi in mining bonds, but as of now haven't investigated.
1866  Economy / Scam Accusations / Bryan Micon's List of Bitcoin Scammers, Shills, and Users Not To Trust IMO on: August 13, 2012, 09:13:30 PM

Lower Level Scammers
this group is reserved for the Ponzi affiliates (pass-throughs), smaller BTC scams and thefts,  & small BTC scumbagging.

1)  Payb.tc ($1M+ USD Pirate pass through,  top affiliate of the top BTC scam ever)
2)  BurtW  (outspoken PPT affiliate, wrote "Pirate is not a Ponzi" in his sig, blindly promoted the scam)
3)  Dank (where to start.  lovable little stoner-scammer with half-baked scams to get you to send BTC)
1867  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bryan Micon tries to infect with a backdoor at his web site on: August 13, 2012, 09:02:35 PM
Yep, Micon's an extremely suspect individual.

not like stand up Ponzi supporters AG + RoloTonyBrownTown, who demands respect around these parts
1868  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bryan Micon tries to infect with a backdoor at his web site on: August 13, 2012, 09:01:56 PM
Someone mentioned that there is a Bryan Micon poker system.
So I googled and clicked on www.micon secrets.com  (remove the space)
As soon as it opened, his website tried to install some backdoor (HTML/Rce.Gen3) on my system.
Luckily for me, aviria catched it. Avira description about the backdoor: http://www.avira.com/en/support-threats-description/tid/7512/tlang/en
I confronted Micon with this and, of course, he just claims that it is not his site.
Maybe I am wrong but I don't think that there are that many Bryan Micons out there that try to sell some poker system.

I was paid in 2007 to make a training video for a guy to market, he did / I did and he still does.

I do not operate that site, but did accept payment and did list everything I did to beat poker in 2007.  (obviously thinking in the game has drastically changed) but that system is still sold on that site by a guy that paid me to hear my thoughts on poker.

you can check the domain / IP of the host / it's not on any of my servers.

thanks for your interest in Bryan Micon.
1869  Economy / Lending / Re: Bryan Micon's List of BTC Ponzi Schemes that should not be listed as "Lending" on: August 13, 2012, 07:53:24 PM
I just navigated to http://www.miconsecrets.com and the "me-con" man struck again.
His website tried to install some backdoor (HTML/Rce.Gen3) on my system.
I think this should be posted on the scam section of the forum. Can somebody else please confirm?

not my site.  I see you and Clipse always post at similar times.  Must be coincidence.  Seriously, start a new thread, let's go there and endlessly debate my character and credibility.  I'm a stand-up guy and long time member of the poker community.  Many top player will vouch for my character.

THIS THREAD IS ABOUT PONZI MIS-CATEGORIZATION, and general BTC Ponzi scam tracking.

1)  Has no Pass throughs paid out today?  doesn't seem like any have reported interest...

2)  Clipse - this is not the thread for that - make one, I will debate you all day, put the link in your sig if you want.

1870  Other / Meta / Re: Gathering Opinions: Stickies in Lending on: August 13, 2012, 07:49:41 PM
I created the subforum. Someone else can move the posts.

1)  at least they are out of Lending

2)   "Long Term offers"

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=88.0

is not the right words for the sub-forum.  Here are some suggestions for naming that forum that you wont' have to move all the scams:

-- 1000%+ APY Investment offers
-- Extremely high yield investment plans (still would have to set an APY cut off)
-- Questionable Investment Plans (either mod or community voting could be applied)
1871  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: [BitcoinMax.com] Paying 6.9% per week... Small accounts welcome. on: August 13, 2012, 07:38:32 PM
sorry you deleted all your posts in my thread.  Don't worry I have them all saved (I save the whole thread each day to show how ppl acted before the destruction)

1)  Why wouldn't you continue the discussion?

2)  were Bitcoinmax payments made today?

3)  Does Pirate ask you to re-invest all each week to get a better rate?

1872  Economy / Lending / Re: Bryan Micon's List of BTC Ponzi Schemes that should not be listed as "Lending" on: August 13, 2012, 07:33:00 PM
Clipse (or anyone esle) - we can argue my character in another thread, and I'm happy to do so.  here is a direct quote:

Quote from: Clipse
3.) He got kicked out of the realmoney poker society(everyone rates him as the laughing stock due to his scummy attitude) and found bitcoin and associated himself immediately with the most active bitcoin pokersite which he now spams all over the internet which sadly hurts bitcoin and bitcoin poker more simply because he is associated with it.

kicked out of realmoneypoker society?  sound like we got an expert here.

That site you found is done by my former partner from DonkDown.  They talk a lot of shit about me.  I'm well-liked in the "realmoney poker society" and I played ~ $35k worth of WSOP events including the $10k Main this year.  All publicly and easily accessible information.  I've been entrenched in the poker community since 2005 and played ~ 15+ events + the main each year since 2006, cashing the main twice for over $150k, 2x final tables, + $200k lifetime at Rio, i mean google me - I'm a legit pro poker player.

But you try and derail the thread with obvious trolling - make a new thread and point me to it if you want to continue this.

now the real Q's

did Pirate pay everyone today?  Was Bitcoinmax and the other ponzi affiliates duped again into re-investing all?  did new whales come in this week?

or is this this week it goes boom?

1873  Economy / Lending / Re: Bryan Micon's List of BTC Ponzi Schemes that should not be listed as "Lending" on: August 12, 2012, 10:26:05 PM
So what I'm gathering from this thread, I should not have sent 15k worth of BTC to pirate?  Doh!

That's what team Ponzi want - no freedom of choice for anyone. They don't offer recommendations, but demands.

If you did plunk down 15k, it's your money, your decision, and your ass iff things go awry.

Just pull the principal after ~11 weeks and let the rest ride. Then there's no more risk.

Hey team Ponzi: ignorance is expensive, especially in the form of lost profit!

This "no freedom of choice" remark is absolutely false. Look at OP: this is simply about not endorsing fraud on the forum.

No one has said that the threads should be deleted, not allowed, etc. We're talking about not labeling them "lending" and stickying them. Sheesh!

Your last remark convinces me that you're not the naive defender I initially took you for; you seem to be complicit in the fraud.

+1 this isn't about not letting a guy send BTC to an obvious scammer - I'll fight for your right to do that if you want - it's about a gross miscategorization to have these Ponzis in "Lending" and it gives them massive credibility when you Sticky one of them.  It's almost like the forum endorsing a scam.

This thread is now going in Meta:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=24.0  and I suggest categorizing the deposit programs by APR% - the scams will categorize themselves.

1876  Economy / Gambling / Re: Which bitcoin poker website? on: August 12, 2012, 12:24:52 AM
*** full disclosure:  I am a Seals With Clubs pro

but even so, Seals is the only pure BTC online poker site with activity.  Games run almost around the clock in browser-based flash software, instant deposits, and ~ 4 hr withdraws.  We have 3 active tables going right now including a 5 handed 2BTC buy in PLO game, a 3 handed 5 BTC PLO8 game, and a 9-handed lowest stakes possible .2 btc buy in game
1877  Other / Meta / Re: Gathering Opinions: Stickies in Lending on: August 12, 2012, 12:17:42 AM
I am a very active lender and have been for a long time (long in Bitcoin time that is).  You can see from the OP in my thread just how many public loans I have on my books and how many public loans have been paid off.  The only reason that there are not a lot more loans listed is that many people who borrow from me have asked to not be listed publicly.  I make loans all the time. I do also take deposits when people are interested in a long term safe "certificate of deposit" type account.

I also happen to have a trust account at BS&T.  I have met Pirate personally.  I have discussed his business with him over dinner and I understand it pretty well. I am personally convinced that it is not a ponzi.  So, I also offer people the option, if they are so inclined, to open an account at BS&T through me.  If I thought it was a ponzi I would not be involved in it at all.

Having said all that I would be willing to remove the one single line in my OP that mentions BS&T if asked.  My deposit/lending business is separate from the BS&T account offering anyway.

Flame on, Micon.

Hey, that rhymes!

1)  It is important to understand the BTC behind the words when reading posts by BurtW & Payb.tc - they are the 2 biggest affiliates of this giant Ponzi scheme.  BurtW is a strong Pirateat40 shill and IMO will say anything to perpetuate the scam 1 more week.

2)  IMO it is extremely shameful to send this scammer BTC each week and take a small %.   This is Ponzi 101 and in no way flaming or trolling or FUD.
1878  Economy / Lending / Re: Bryan Micon's List of BTC Ponzi Schemes that should not be listed as "Lending" on: August 11, 2012, 11:59:37 PM
for your or not to come in:

- a guy named Pirate is the first person to run a legitimate investment program to return 3000%+ APR
- he has this amazing way to make BTC by using BTC.  Market arbitraging like a boss or whatever
- now he can make large amounts of BTC, already has large amounts of BTC (remember he is killing it at whatever he is doing that he can't tell you) but for some reason still needs new investors each week, wanting to share the huge bounty

You are in a massive state of denial to still be in on the fence.  It's Ponzi101 and you are the largest affiliate.  You are responsible for building it bigger.  Or not.

No, no, no.
If he didn't do it, someone else would have. He's located a demand in a market and he's making a buck, like all the PPT operators. Idk why I've been sticking up for these guys, maybe because your accusing them makes your cause look like a witch hunt when it shouldn't be. You're not going to scare away all the PPTs. People who want to give to Pirate will find away to do so. I'd run a PPT right now if I could and I wouldn't think twice about the ethics of it.

I'm sure there are far better analogies than this one off the top of my head... are syringe manufacturers in the wrong by making it easier for heroin addicts to shoot up?

1)  Shameful that you would run a PPT right now.

2)  when you allow scams to operate under "lending" the forum is giving credibility to them.   by not saying or doing anything is giving them credibility.  I mean, one of them is even stickied here!  talk about a ringing endorsement to a newbie user...
1879  Other / Meta / Re: Gathering Opinions: Stickies in Lending on: August 11, 2012, 07:38:42 PM
@Micon
There is no telling of a lending program that might turn out to be a ponzi solely based on it's APR alone. Heck, most if not all deposit programs in the Lending subforum would be ponzi schemes then. A low return program might turn out to be a secret PPT, thus folding shop if something happens with Pirate.

yes, most of the lending forum is Ponzis or other scams.  A major cleanup is needed.  You are helping on particular PPT help scam by giving them a sticky

all PPTs are ponzi affiliates

I'm sure you have seen the 2nd most viewed thread ever in Lending --> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=94900.0

many, many of us believe it's an obvious Ponzi, and there is almost no defense for some1 guaranteeing 3000% APR with no business unit.  There is over $1M+ USD in this scam, and allowing stickies to PPTs help the scammer each week scam a bit more.
1880  Economy / Lending / Re: Bryan Micon's List of BTC Ponzi Schemes that should not be listed as "Lending" on: August 11, 2012, 10:47:27 AM
"If BCST fails, so does this" - this means the pass-through running knows it's a scam, but is willing to perpetuate it as long as possible making small % for himself and greatly benefiting the scammer.

"If BST fails, so does this" - this means the passthrough operator doesn't have evidence one way or another whether it's a scam or not but is willing to let individual lenders make up their own mind.
