1582  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Dank Bank Deposits - low risk, dank soul guarantee - 1.5%-2.5% weekly on: September 26, 2012, 02:03:17 AM
No, it operates on karma because it will continue to thrive as long as I stay on the path I'm on.  And it gives me actual incentive to not steal from my investors.  If I didn't believe in karma and didn't think it mattered to be an honest person, I could steal my clients funds without a second thought.  But that's not who I am.

You don't need to believe in karma or any kind of woo-woo to be a decent person and not steal from others.  Some people treat others well without needing a fear of punishment or "bad karma" to keep them from being dicks.  Imagine that!

IMO the vast majority of humanity has this built in.  It's that little voice in your brain that says "hey, don't fuck that guy over - he's a fellow human, just like you"

Sociopaths don't have this mechanism.  Pirateat40 is a sociopath.  Read:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antisocial_personality_disorder

they can sleep just fine at night after killing a guy or after executing a large internet-based distributed scam.

Dank obviously does not fall into this category, he seems to me like a kid that knows right and wrong but needs that strong role model to show him that wrong is really wrong, it's not bullshit.

Dank - are you < 22 yrs old? (sorry if this info posted here) and did you have a traumatic upbringing? your not a scammer man.  And you don't belong in starting businesses, but I think you could still be successful if you partnered with the right people to make some positive contribution to society - it seems like you are on that grind to make $ and that's great to be motivated, just have to focus it on the right things and not random BTC buy me a hookah bar type ideas - go more tangible like making art and selling it on Etsy.

The half hour tournament is now a 400 chip guarantee, just 50 chips to enter. That means we've got a freeroll and a guarantee running every hour around the clock now.

Cool..

 ♧ ♤ ♧ ♢ HALF HOUR ♥ 400 guarantee ♤ ♧ ♢ ♧

me likey likey.. ty

tons of promotions going on Seals This month, and I have spoke to Freemoney about what he's cooking up for next month.

https://sealswithclubs.eu/promotions/

from a poker perspective, there are enough incentives from Seals + action from players to make a nice low limit grind out of it.  The Krill-based rakeback is fun to earn, and I'd bet there will be krill fun to be had in the future.

1584  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bryan Micon Poker % buying thread: Orleans $100 HORSE 9/23/12 [CLOSED] on: September 24, 2012, 10:51:42 PM
Actually, what I meant was that anybody could watch your deposit address and claim to have sent a payment sent by anybody else. This would mean they could effectively steal (or at least create a dispute over) another person's deposit.

For example:

User A sends 1-4 BTC to you.
User B watches your deposit address on blockchain.info.
User B sees User A's deposit, posts on your thread saying to send back to a totally different address.

By restricting payout to input addresses, you guarantee that the person who deposits receives any payouts, and minimize the risk for dispute. An alternative would be private deposit addresses.

then wouldn't User A then post saying "User B is lying - look I can easily prove that transaction came from a wallet I control"

I guess that hits on what you were saying earlier not to send from a green address, i.e. a Gox cashout, or some other wallet you can't prove you own.
1585  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bryan Micon Poker % buying thread: Orleans $100 HORSE 9/23/12 [OPEN] on: September 24, 2012, 12:33:55 AM
Just one thing: By allowing payments to a public address, you will need to restrict repayments to the input addresses (otherwise anyone can claim to have made a payment). This means people need to steer clear of services like mtgox when paying you as they do not send from input addresses which go back to the user's account.

I thought I understood bitcoin, this has me totally boggled.  Care to explain?

First point of confusion:  What is a repayment?

I think he means if it's like satoshidice and I would robotishly auto-ship the coins back to sending address if they won.

if we win tonight, I'll ship coins to whatever hash Luceo wants.  only 4 shares and 1 is to my cousin, and the other 2 are Seals guys, and like I said Luceo gets 'em wherever he wants after I hopefully ship it!

1592  Economy / Gambling / Bryan Micon Poker % buying thread: Bellagio $1,080 Position NL 11/29/12 [OPEN] on: September 23, 2012, 11:11:15 PM
I am going to use one thread and bump it when I play a tournament and want to sell a piece to the BTC community.  I'll change the title to reflect the status of this thread.

I have been playing professional poker for about a decade, and I also gamble in a +EV manner on a handful of other way.  I have 2 WSOP final tables, 1 in $2,000 buy-in No limit in 2006 and another in $1500 HORSE in 2009.  I play both NL and mixed-games tournaments, something I specialize in.  I play live poker about twice a week now as I spend most my gambling time on SealsWithClubs, usually playing a small tournament or cash mixed games.

When I am running a tourney with shares sold on Bitcointalk, I will always update my twitter regularly with chip counts and the occasional pic / video update for fun.

a video of me on ESPN during 2006 main event:

I will always use this hash for receiving coins for transactions in this thread for max transparency :

Shares are always sold on a "first shipped / first served" basis - meaning that BTC has to hit the hash or the Seals xfer has to be on my screen to lock your share.

GL ALL!

Interesting to see that there are now some minor bets going on.  The three month date is rather arbitrary and I would suggest people don't waste their time/effort/money on it.

http://betsofbitco.in/item?id=696

This is what I'm talking about - your tone here sounds like you are warning people against betting that you will pay back in the next 3 months, because you know there is no chance of that.

Sounds like you will stall / pay back small or post as a sock puppet or 2 with low post count no one has ever heard of to say "thanks starfish, interest + principal rec'd fuck the haters"

you guys understand the symbolic bet now?  he is basically saying there is no chance you will get your BTC any time soon.  Certainly not by the end of the year.  If you have principal tied up with this scammer, you should consider it totally lost at this point, save maybe pennies on the dollar Patrick may decide to send out.
1594  Economy / Gambling / Re: SealsWithClubs.eu - We have bitcoin poker action on: September 23, 2012, 06:25:57 AM
I like the new way to see when tournaments start, alot easier to understand for me not used to am, and pm.

Would be nice if some of the big tournaments was put a little earlier too for EU players.

I have to say, very fun site to play at! And to me it's more exiting playing with bitcoins then with dollars!  Smiley

ty for the kind words.  Freemoney + others are constantly working on the site and I think it shows with each improvement.

Micon and co -  why don't you all go after people who are not making any attempts to give people back money ?
What are you peoples hoping to achieve in this thread ?

Good Question.

PatrickHarnett isn't your usual fly-by-night scam - he's a confidence man, i.e. the long con.  It's not this 1 deal that went bad either - go take a look at the Kranken fund- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=100913.0

He's also basically said there was no way he would ever pay back starfish principle, even when given until the end of the year.

It's a plain and simple scam, you should be mad at him instead of me.

Friendly bump, not quite sure why i've not got much interest in this.

maybe because of your scam's rating of both "F" and "Ponzi"

Interesting to see that there are now some minor bets going on.  The three month date is rather arbitrary and I would suggest people don't waste their time/effort/money on it.  Having accepted deposits and catering to the demand of people that didn't want to get into the loan or investing market directly means (and has always meant) coins would be put into various places.  That includes HashKing and Nckrazze.  It also included a JRO investment (which was suspended a few weeks ago) and some other GLBSE where recent panic has tanked prices or scared away liquidity.  There are also those loans that were not pass-throughs that have decided to simply refuse to repay due to ineptitude of the people concerned.

I do read the interesting array of comments, fair or misguided, but the effort in trying to explain rationale has been proven to be largely pointless.  I did honour a bunch of PPT obligations in August that severely affected the spare coins that I had available (allocating about 10,000 coins), and I continue to turn down lending business that would actually help support the repayment of funds more quickly.  Not because of the likes of Puppet, Micon or many others that like to claim how foolish I am providing a service, but because of my obligations to people that have entrusted funds too me.  So for now, the payment process will continue as outlined.

so you're basically saying not to bet that you will bet all of your obligations because you shot off all the coins on other ponzi schemes lik Hashking, Pirate, and NckRazze.

Did you personally profit from this program Patrick?  do you think it's fair if you did?
