1661  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I'm giving 100% ROI away to anyone who thinks pirate is a fraud on: September 10, 2012, 02:04:07 AM
Matt is invited on Wed. to come on DonkDown radio to discuss this matter again.

As I posted in the other thread,

-- Matt has lost credibility with me
-- I will never do any business with him directly ever again
-- Bitcoin Magazine will still have my full support, as I believe it is bringing BTC awareness to many and that is too important not to buy every issue, write for them, and give to my friends that will understand it.

Shitty thing for this guy to do, I hope BTC Mag doesn't get punished too hard for Matt's foolish actions.  I am now familiar with the creative process over there and they are producing really amazing content that is teaching people that know about bitcon more - and that's a really fucking valuable function to this community that shouldn't be stopped, even if a director of the magazine did something totally insane.

I feel a follow-up interview to his first one is needed at this point.
1663  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Discussion about 10,000BTC Bet (Official) on: September 10, 2012, 01:49:43 AM
Pretty weak, can't say I'm shocked.

Dissapointed in Matt, will never bet with him again of course, and I believe he deserves the scamatar.

From a damage control standpoint, I hope this community separates the awesome work done by the handful of fine gentlemen that work on Bitcoin Magazine with this 1 crazy and hurtful action made by a guy that also works on the magazine.   Of course the backlash towards the magazine is unavoidable when you welch on a $700k+ bet, so that much shouldn't shock Matt or the others involved with that project - some users will not want to give any business to an entity that makes Matt coin.

I personally will be writing an article on BTC gambling for Bitcoin Magazine and I fully support that project after getting my issue #1 delivered a few months late I read it cover to cover and it was so well written and well produced I called every BTC friend in Vegas to see if they wanted to borrow it.  (my issues #2 & #3 are also pretty late, I think I ordered them 3-4 weeks ago - but it's that good I don't care as long as it gets here in calendar 2012)  I will write articles for free for BTC mag as many as they will take from me just to support their amazing magazine which certainly brings bitcoin awareness to many.

This was an idiotic thing for Matt to do.  He has lost almost all credibility with me.  Gamblers take bets very seriously, and had I lost I would have paid.  Because he didn't do that for me, we won't do any future business involving coin.  While me writing articles may directly make Matt coin, I will accept that injustice to fulfill the greater good of spreading BTC.

1664  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: NCKRAZZE's Deposits - Low Risk Deposits with Guaranteed Payback Weekly @ 2.5% /w on: September 09, 2012, 11:51:46 AM

With Bitcoin, we're trying to revolutionize the world, money and commerce. Let's pull our heads out of our asses and stop pissing away this opportunity on the online equivalent of a two-bit street hustler.

I actually handle 18,000 BTC of deposits. I manage deposits of 3500+ on a different address to avoid attention. So that's roughly 180,000 USD if you are counting, Bit. As I said, give me time.

And for those of you that are impatient and proceed to insult me, you will be ignored.

well, at least it was Guaranteed.  that's still in the title.

:ponzifail

Please! PLEASE!  stop "investing" in scams, it's hurting bitcoin
1665  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: ★ VESCUDERO's Risk-free Weekly Term deposits at 1.5% ★ on: September 09, 2012, 11:47:19 AM
Fraud is telling people lies to get them to do something or making promises you know you can't keep.

In my humble opinion, promising people "Risk-free" returns is fraud. Even US Treasury Bills are not "risk free."

don't take Gavin's interest in these scams lightly.  This is the lead Bitcoin programmer posting here.  This means that he feels extremely strongly about how detrimental these scams are for the system he devotes a large % of his life to help further.

Do not invest in these scams.  Not even if you think you can get in, then get out before the bust - in any result you are hurting bitcoin.

1666  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Starfish BCB - Loans and Deposits on: September 09, 2012, 11:40:32 AM
Thanks for the reminder to update the OP, but deposits have been restricted/disallowed for several weeks now.  Otherwise bitcoinbull's post is rather irrelevant.

so again, why would you ever need to take new deposits if you have run such a successful business?  start paying back the 1%/wk debt, right?
1667  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: imsaguy's Enormously Interesting Extended Investment Opportunity on: September 09, 2012, 11:38:26 AM
well, at least it was enormously interesting.

Another shameful half-a-scam run by half-a-guy

1668  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Personal responsiblity and the Ponzi scam. on: September 09, 2012, 11:32:28 AM
This lecture coming from a porn website operator is to be very well received by the community.
They got any Siamese amputee midget lesbian porn? If so, can I get a free login?

1)   ciuciu - your attempt to discredit an awesome post fails.  Like you don't jerk off to porn?  like you have a moral objection with it?

2)  I heart JoelKatz like alot

3)  OP rocks pretty hard.  Pretty damn good advice.  +1 on "please don't send a guy 500k BTC because it fucks it up for the rest of us"

I have a moral objection to underage porn which the OP hosts. You can defend it if you want but it just makes you look like  a pedo.

Do you have any idea what you are defending ?

If OP hosts kiddie porn, I don't condone it.

the OP's OP has nothing to do with anything other than this scam, and the thoughts contained in it are valid

1)  Matt is not paying out.

2)  pretty shitty thing to do IMO.

3)  Don't understand his motivation for doing this, don't agree with it.

Edit:  Just saw this posted on IRC

<_matthew_> The fact that there were this many people willing to do a bet without escrow shows you how ignorant and greedy this community can get

That's his point? That we trusted him to not be a dick? Shame on us! Somebody escrow my damn coins already.

This is where you hear what Matthew's intentions are in his own voice.

http://www.donkdown.com/media/DDRadio-2012_08_22_19_00_07.mp3

Win or lose, I'll be going back on there but just to laugh for 20 minutes straight.

Curious words.  Doesn't make me feel too good about risking 1000 BTC vs. you, very low confidence in Matt's ability to pay this obvious losing bet now.
1674  Economy / Gambling / Re: buy a piece of my bet with Matt, get 50% return if we win and he pays on: September 08, 2012, 05:15:02 AM
Can anyone say collateralized debt obligation? This shit is getting meta. How long is it going to take for all of the pirate bets to unwind!?

Speaking of meta..

I'm willing to give really really good odds that if Matt pays Micon then Micon will pay anyone who takes this bet.

that's funny.  really don't like my side of the bet now, and also this thread looks foolish as Matt continues to take bets he will lose - seems shadier to me now than 1 week ago.

So you don't expect Matt to pay and want for a bigger fool to pay you.

facepalm.jpg

remember when you were arguing with me that a Ponzi scheme wasn't a Ponzi?
1677  Economy / Gambling / Re: buy a piece of my bet with Matt, get 50% return if we win and he pays on: September 07, 2012, 01:08:24 PM
So I have 2 choices (suppose Pirate doesn't pay back):

a) Tell Matt I will pay 10 BTC, get 20 BTC back from Matt, with the risk of him not paying (and me losing nothing)

or

b) Pay 10 BTC to you (risking never to hear from you again), getting 15 back from you (with the risk of him not paying + the risk of you not paying, and me losing 10 BTC)

So that's 3+ times the risk for 50% of the value.

Correct me when wrong...

if Matt will still accept your bet and you think he will pay all bets equally then clearly this thread won't be +EV for you.

1678  Economy / Gambling / Re: buy a piece of my bet with Matt, get 50% return if we win and he pays on: September 07, 2012, 01:07:10 PM
One of the most irrational investments)
Think multiple times before sending him funds...
Sounds like ponzi scam...

says the co-conspirator that ran a Pirate Pass-though  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=75738.0

clearly ShadowAlexey has no more clout when it comes to Bitcoin
1679  Economy / Gambling / Re: buy a piece of my bet with Matt, get 50% return if we win and he pays on: September 07, 2012, 01:04:45 PM
How are we supposed to trust you with payout.

how are you supposed to trust me that I get paid a large bet then pay out smaller bets from the same bet?  I dunno, you guys sent $5M USD to a guy named Pirateat40, so I guess this 1 is pretty easy as I'm fully Dox'd / pretty easy to find.
1680  Economy / Gambling / buy a piece of my bet with Matt, get 50% return if we win and he pays on: September 07, 2012, 01:35:25 AM
I kicked this idea around on DD Radio yesterday, and I've decided to sell some of my Matt bet.

The Bet Thread:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=101751.0
Bet discussion thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=102918.0
Bet spreadsheet showing all bets vs. Matt:  https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ajtx05YrHtIydFVHcGxLOExTbnhqajJLZmlSZUNtM3c#gid=0

It's going to work like this:

-- You are betting that I win the bet AND that matt pays me
-- If Matt pays me, your bet wins
-- I am paying 1.5-1 for this bet, i.e. if you send me 10 BTC, and we win, I will send you back 15 BTC.
-- I am offering you 1/2 the odds I have on the bet with Matt.  Obviously if you bet with Matt directly you will get 2x better odds than betting with me, but you would avoid a situation where Matt paid me and a handful of others, but left some people unpaid - you are directly betting that I paid - i.e. you are directly buying a portion of my exact bet with Matt.
-- You must send coins to me first, i.e. you must post with me to bet.   Please do not send coins until I confirm the bet.  You will have 5 hours to send the coins after I confirm.
-- I reserve the right to cut this off at any time.

While I am 99.999+% confident that I will win the bet,  I'm not 100% sure that Matt will pay, and while I would like to believe he will, I'm taking this opportunity to minimize my risk of him not.  I plan on only selling 100-200 or so of this bet, and keeping the bulk of the exposure myself.

IN ORDER TO PROPOSE A BET TO ME, PLEASE POST:

amount
Hash to send winnings if Matt pays me
optional comment

IT SHOULD LOOK LIKE THIS:
