1544  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bryan Micon Poker % buying thread: Orleans $100 HORSE 9/23/12 [OPEN] on: October 12, 2012, 11:07:54 PM
heading to play the Friday Night $125 NL MTT at the Orleans, funded by mostly social security checks.

Date: Tonight 9/28
Time: 7:00 pm PT
buy-in:  $125
Avg # of players: 200+
1st Place (estimate): $5,000 USD
Venue:  The Orleans  [ http://static.boydgaming.net/orleanscasino10/media/downloads/PokerRoomDailyTournSchedule_Feb2012.pdf ]
Current MtGox Price: $12.11

I am willing to sell up to 4 (four)  10% pieces of this tournament for 1.5 BTC

In the poker world, we would express this a "1.45 markup" or we would say "I'm paying 45% markup for a piece of Micon in the Orleans Friday night $125 NL" meaning for every $1 of action, you are paying $1.45.  Further more you are doing this because you think I am much better than the field in this competition, and in this particular tournament I have an established 200%+ ROI, meaning you guys are getting a good deal.

Any winnings I cash in said tournament, 10% will be returned to a hash of your choosing or on Seals if you want.  I will convert at MtGox spot price when I send the funds, i.e. you are gambling in USD as soon as you xfer me the coins and you are holding USD until I send them back - I also promise to send winnings within 24 hours of the tournament end.  If it is a large amount won I may need to take cash to Bitinstant the next day.  It is more than likely I have enough coin on hand to send any winnings immediately, but occasionally this $125 turns into about $5k and while it's a fun issue to have, you guys will need to give me 1 day to convert.

I am going to sell 1 share of this tournament only.  I am constantly testing and refining this process for the first few small tournaments people buy pieces of, and I'm going to try the just 1 share way for this one.

1MALd2BKccYX4uapwtnx1HHcTBziWZ8jSH

I always sell pieces of my tournaments on a first-come-first-served basis.  first coins locks it up.  I will also accept chips on Seals.

As usual I will provide tourney updates, pix of the old ppl, and lulz via my twitter for the duration of the tourney:  @BryanMicon

GOOD LUCK ALL!

What security precautions do SWC take against hackers?

For example, if some hackers did manage to break into your server and steal every bitcoin in unencrypted wallets on that server, would the users take the loss or are you enough protected to still be able to continue the site and/or pay out users that requests it? How many, percentage wise, of the coins in your system are stored in a) offline storage and/or b) properly encrypted wallets?

After all the hacking recently, I don't know if I would trust any service that does not store enough coins on offline servers to still function should a hacking take place.

Freemoney answered this very important questions about hot wallets and hackings, but I am more concerned with social scammers on this young poker site.  There is a close culture on Seals, there is always trash talking during the games, some fun spirited, some not, but either way most of the regular players communicate constantly with each other.  I want to take this time and out a scammer who has been working the chat hard under many different usernames:

 http://www.bustedmugshots.com/michigan/muskegon/justen-h-vannocker/59079031

http://pastebin.com/SxiH5SKt

http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:FofoV2QH_XQJ:www.facebook.com/tabitha.gould.9+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us

As "IronKing" on Seals and "IronKing27" on skype he tried to scam a handful of Seals Users, myself included.  It turns out he seems to be very stupid and left clumsy clues everywhere.  Without getting into details some members of the community and I have been privately putting together pieces.  I believe there isn't much loss here, and this has been said long before I even found bitcoin, but it is worth repeating:

PLEASE DO NOT ACCEPT "CLEAR PAYPAL" FOR BITCOIN UNLESS YOU ACCEPT THE RISK THAT THE OTHER GUY CAN JUST CLICK "DISPUTE" AND THE XFER WILL REVERSE.

Of course paypal / eBay is an evil organization charging extremely high fees.  Of course Bitcoin will kill Paypal or at least compete with it in a few years.  Hopefully kill.  But for now, it is a needed evil.  100M+ Paypal accounts and an easy way to Americans to pay each other.  Just have to be so extremely careful these days.  Also I would advise all Seals players or anyone that needs to buy bitcoin living in the USA to use BitInstant if they do not have a trusted source to buy from.  Would love to have a trusted mining pool that wants paypal for coins...

1546  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Starfish BCB - Loans and Deposits on: October 09, 2012, 07:02:38 AM
Just picking up a point that Joel made, it's not simply a case of bad loans (people refusing to pay or those that invested into Pirate and then defaulted).  There are also a range of GLBSE assets that have been used to generate income since the start of the year.  Some have proven to be very good, others have tanked recently and I'm not keen to sell those at a huge loss unnecessarily, and others have been much more at the scammy end.  In looking after this, it's not a case of taking a knee-jerk reaction and panicing and yes, to-date I have taken significant losses.  That wasn't helped by losing 8000+BTC of some other obligations that I had relating to PPT, but being one of the few who made good on those promises is separate to this thread.  I have also injected a large quantity of cash into the system to cover obligations.

Today, seeing the GLBSE is doing whatever it's doing reinforces the non-panic approach.

As for Micon, he's looking for something in particular, and if he bothered to actually understand what was written in this thread he would have realised I have answered his question, just not the way he would like me to.  As a non-customer, he's not entitled to a better answer than that.

ur playing great kiddo / keep up the good work.

PM me next time you give an AAA+ rating to a scammer or start the next Janken fund.

seriously pack it in home boy.   maybe you are a plain 'ole scammer / maybe you are just too stupid to handle bitcoins / either way stop fucking people out of money and funneling "investor" funds into random scams and unlicensed securities.

"oops I lost another $90k"

goooooooo Starfish!   (do you know starfish is a slang term for asshole?)

I hereby apologize to Patrick and the community for this drunken post.  I can understand if some people lose respect for me because of this.

Even if I think Patrick is a scammer or inept, I should not type such angry words just to be mean.  I take full responsibility for my actions.  Gonna tighten up my game.

I'm raising my hand on this one and fully admitting I was wrong.

Sorry community and to Patrick directly.

1547  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: SealsWithClubs Affiliate Program - 20% for life on: October 08, 2012, 02:35:53 AM
Freemoney is going to get hurt by your reputation. If I were you Micon, I would start a new btctalk account. And then build up a reputation as someone that is worth listening to, as it stands you advertising sealswithclubs will not really benefit anyone much as I am sure you are aware you have made it onto a lot of ignore lists.

Micon is the only reason I started playing at SealsWithClubs.  I've known of him for years and met him a couple times in person playing in Vegas.  I didn't know that his reputation was so bad here, but I can assure you that his reputation in the "real world" will benefit SealsWithClubs in the long run.

I appreciate the kind words.  I come across different on the internet than in real life.

spread the word about bitcoin & seals please!
1548  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: SealsWithClubs Affiliate Program - 20% for life on: October 08, 2012, 02:21:20 AM
why dont you go straight to raketherake and other major rakeback affiliates?

This is a good idea, but we are at this point not offering rakeback at this point.
1549  Economy / Gambling / Re: SealsWithClubs.eu - Biggest Bitcoin Poker Site - Ring games, MTTs and Freerolls on: October 07, 2012, 09:15:10 AM
Any way we coud get a nightly "SUPER" NL and/or PLO MTT at 6PM-10PM Pacific for 475+25-950+50 BI

The medium-high ring games ususally get crazy (big pots) during/after "big" MTTs.  Thanks for any consideration and great job on the site!

speaking of big MTTs...

the biggest bitcoin tourney each week goes down at 6pm every single Sunday only at SealsWithClubs - in about 13 hours.

2btc buy in, 60 bitcoin guarantee that Freemoney faithfully pays if there is an overlay.  I have a feeling tomorrow is going to be a big one, as the word about Seals does continue to spread throughout the poker world.  Still whispers at this point, but the affiliate program is going to help a bunch.  Get at affiliates@sealswithclubs.eu and start earning that 20%
1550  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: SealsWithClubs Affiliate Program - 20% for life on: October 07, 2012, 08:56:00 AM
I would affiliate your site on my faucet if it didnt benefit Micon. I dont support bullies, even internet ones. Or Micon can learn some tact and be polite to people on the forums and issue an apology to the people he insults constantly even by proxy.

jasinlee, I always want to hear how I come across to others.  hit me up on skype: bmicon  - I'd love to talk to you about this.  I am always working on improving myself, and I certainly admit to small missteps in handling myself on these forums from time to time - I get too emotional at times when discussing our beloved bitcoin.  I don't believe I'm "bullying" so much as "standing up to the bullies" when it comes to my work in Long-Term offers, and I do hope you contact me privately because sometimes I do not come across on the internet how I meant it to be.

It will be our early affiliates that make the big, monthly reoccurring btc.  Don't miss out on that revenue stream!

But you see here is the problem I have, this is a well thought out discussion. But no apology or regret is in this statement and then you state you stand up to bullies. Stop doing these 3 things for a week and I will ask sealswithclubs if they would like to work together (i actually have a few of sites not just the one).

If you feel you have a valid point to post in a thread that isnt yours instead of derailing it. Leave your message or statement. Then stop badgering people. Really its a good idea to build up a business without the reputation as a troll.

Stop instigating people into arguments with you about how freaking great you are, yeah we get it you play poker and you may win sometimes but that does not justify self glorification on any post you make. Note your early response about how you actually stand up to bullies.

You dont have to name drop sealswithclubs constantly, thats what a signature is for, you can post threads and such like everyone else does in service announcements or discussions. But to me it just makes it look like spam.

If you can behave as good as lets say bitcoin.me (no offense bitcoin.me) he  trolls a bit but sometimes makes good points and to me isnt too excessive. Then I would consider my site being even a little bit associated with the project you are supporting.

I appreciate your thoughts, and welcome criticism.  I don't believe starting a new bitcointalk would accomplish much, as I am the same human behind the keyboard.  I understand you don't want me to derail threads.  I certainly went overboard in Long-Term offers, more of a desperate times call for desperate measures thinking.

I don't plan on "bombing" or aggressively trolling threads in that section any more, as it appears to be dead.  My focus is on running this affiliate program.  I do hope you will one day reconsider.  Maybe with a little time and talking with others using the program in a few weeks or months I hope you will take another look.
1551  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: SealsWithClubs Affiliate Program - 20% for life on: October 07, 2012, 04:47:23 AM
For a brief time we had separate affiliate accounts, but the new system is more integrated and will be easier to improve as needed.

Making a seals account is actually faster and easier than making an affiliate account used to be and if you happen to be a player it is now only one account that you need to login to in order to check on things.

Once you have a player account (really it takes seconds) just email micon at affiliates@sealswithlcubs.eu or myself at admin@sealswithclubs.eu to be set as an affiliate. We aren't looking for spammers so just give a brief idea of what you plan to do and you'll be in.

Once you are logged in to your account you will see a link to images, more and better ones will be coming.

1)  Freemoney busted his ass to get this program working and tested.  I'm so proud to offer it.  He deserves the credit here when you guys start making BTC.

2)  Please do not spam.  Do not market us in any way shady or illegally.  That doesn't mean you can't have a banner on Silk Road, that means that please do not buy UB's old 5M user email list and spam the shit out of it daily with SealsWithClubs.  That means do not trick users into clicking something that is your aff link, and that certainly means no rakeback.  We are only looking for serious affiliates that understand this game & have a ton of traffic or a ton of personal poker connections from players that want to get back online.

3)  I was an early affiliate of PartyPoker, long before they captured the market lead - in fact I helped them get there - and made tons of money signing up my friends and forum users by simply helping them make their first deposit - you guys are in the same situation right now - if highly motivated affiliates want to teach former online poker players bitcoin then you can make 20% for life for those you sign up.  It will pile up guys, I've seen it happen.  and you will all the sudden have a  nice monthly stream.

Please list your Seals username and how you plan to market.

I must be a Seals player to become an affiliate?

Banners provided, can be custom for high-traffic sites

Do you have a gallery?

One I've seen:

your affiliate information is under the "my account" section of your player account, thus you must create a player account.  You are not required to play.

We have an updated gallery with better creatives than that old thing!

Hello Micon,

I don't play poker, but I want to use this opportunity to congratulate you to the resent BTC news you are making on Poker sites, see:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=109546.0

and

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=115566.msg1247175#msg1247175

Online Poker is a huge market and is IMO currently maybe the only single BTC business that has the potential to challenge even SR as the biggest BTC turnover generator.

So thanks for raising awareness in he online poker world.

(Free Bump for posting off topic.)

So if you want to remain anonymous, you go penniless?

GLBSE should have been done as a Silk Road clone.  You guys were practically waving a red cape at the SEC/FBI/TPTB bulls.  It was destined to end in tears.

+1 / SEC doesn't fuck around.

I believe such a site should be able to exist but having it on the clearnet and opening selling unlicensed securities on a .com is just stupid.

.onion FTW and fight the same battle Silk Road seems to be winning if some1 tries the same idea again.

sounds like the SEC flipped Nefario

Hello all.

Bryan Micon here as the SealsWithClubs affiliate manager.  We have completed the beta process and Freemoney has worked his ass off on this system.  We are looking for affiliates with high traffic sites or legal email lists and newsletters.  If you are a highly motivated individual that knows a ton of former / current online poker players than this is for you also.

our Terms, Conditions, and Tips are listed here:   https://sealswithclubs.eu/affiliates/

Note that we are not looking to create rakeback providers.  You must be a "real" affiliate and not game the system to get paid.  Serious inquires only, you must make a Seals username to participate.

I can be reached at affiliates@sealswithclubs.eu with all questions and to apply for the program.  Please list your Seals username and how you plan to market.

As we grow, our early, aggressive affiliates can make some serious coin.  Please feel free to use me as a resource for promotion ideas and ask me any questions you have about the program.

I've trolled this thread a bit, I must say looking at the way the deposit lists going down I'm starting to think maybe crazy money loosing business but not a scam?
It can be very hard to tell the difference. It depends how much of the payback deficit is caused by genuine investment and operating losses. His investors had substantially the same information he did, so it's not unreasonable for them to bear the losses. That is, after all, the purpose of investors. (And I think we all understand that the line between a loan and an investment is thoroughly blurred at interest rates this high. It was clear he was loaning the funds out and clear that there's always a risk of bad loans.)

Joel,

It seems to me the refusal to answer the question "when will everyone be paid back in full" is directly related to "I'm still paying you guys interest"

he is adding debt on top of debt he cannot pay any time soon, if ever.
