1201  Other / Meta / Re: stolen bitcointalk account on: September 14, 2018, 11:19:17 PM
Everything that you need to know can be found in this thread : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0

Follow those instructions to a "t" and you will be able to move forward with this unfortunate situation. It would be helpful to include a link to the profile or at least the UID of the profile; much better than the username.

There is a large backlog of accounts that have to be dealt with so you can expect significant delay, unfortunately. These things take time and there is no shortage of lost/stolen accounts.
1202  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [AUCTION] 🎯8x Satori Coins Serialnumbers >22750🎯Auction ends/15.9.2018/6pm MEZ⏱🇨🇭 on: September 14, 2018, 08:49:30 PM
I am pointing you to direct contradictions in your own words, because I am trying to understand what is going on in the auction I am participating in. Let's assume that I'm not the only person with these question; did Coingrag even receive an explanation? What kind of contradictions can I expect when comparing the items you describe in OP and the items I receive in my hand? This is why it is imperative that you stand on Principal, as all any bidders have is your word. You cannot lie directly to us, refuse to discuss it and then tell us to deal with it if you expect this auction to continue.

I am not mixing your posts, I am taking them one-by-one, play-by-play where you say one thing and then do or say the direct opposite. So far, all I have gathered is that I cannot trust your word very much and that you are unwilling to explain yourself. You're not willing to discuss why you banned a user from the auction after stating explicitly that particular user and bid was valid/permitted.

Very sloppy. Makes me pretty disinterred to even continue bidding.
1203  Other / Meta / Re: How recognized are you in the bitcointalk world? on: September 14, 2018, 07:05:19 PM
Yes, I understand that, but what I am saying is that your rank in comparison to other in terms of Trust is much more significant than your rank in comparison to others in terms of Activity (For recognition purposes). I don't know if I'm explaining that correctly, or maybe I am misunderstanding the calculations. It seems like your Rank for Trust and your Rank for Activity are considered equally towards the end result, and I believe this should be weighed differently. Does that make sense?
1204  Other / Meta / Re: How recognized are you in the bitcointalk world? on: September 14, 2018, 06:43:34 PM
This is my thousandth post - literally. Does that make me more recognized ?

Not on Vod's list, but in my heart, where it matters.

I'll wait for the scammer's version of it.

"Most Infamous", I can see it now. Would be quite an amusing read.

Might it give the calculations another Pillar if you consider the trust received from Non-DT members if those members have received Trust from DT members? Certainly the Trust from a Trusted Non-DT member has some weight in Recognition and should be thrown into the mix somehow. I've run the numbers and this is a solid chance at a quick boost to my rank; all I have to do is convince you it's a good idea. Kiss I missed the autograph signing and now I'll never get my Baseball Cap signed.

Also, would it be silly to suggest weighing the categories? I don't believe Activity should be considered equal to Trust, for example.

Was a little late to the thread, but still an interesting concept. I am ashamed of how many names I recognize on this list, even into the 600's.
1205  Other / Meta / Re: [LOG] The ranked up members - Congratulations! on: September 14, 2018, 06:21:52 PM
I was ban in my first account due to plagiarism yet those are the first timers post here yet it was being reported even if it was deleted.
This is clearly ban evasion I think.

Correct me higher ranked members if I am wrong Smiley.

Higher Ranked members don't always have more information or insight on a particular topic. Don't give too much credence to the words of higher-ranking members; they are human, just like you. You are correct. This is ban evasion, if the account that was banned is still banned (or was banned at the creation time of the new account).

I wish there will be a protocol before reporting someone.

There need be no protocol for reporting a post, because reports do not lead to anything without examination from a moderator and these moderators have a protocol before taking an action on a report.

A songle mistake is not a valid reason to ban a member.

That would depend on the severity of the offense, wouldn't you agree?
1206  Other / Meta / Re: "This user recently woke up from a long period of inactivity." on: September 14, 2018, 06:15:25 PM
Are the messages displayed on a user's profile for Password Resets and Password Changes the same message? It says that changes will only display for 3 days, but resets will show for 30. I am wondering if this has since been changed so that both are displayed for 30-days? That thread ends in 2014, so it's been awhile and realistically there may have been updates/changes.
1207  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [AUCTION] 8x Satori Coins Serialnumbers >22750 on: September 14, 2018, 06:06:47 PM
Everybody is welcome to bid here
I can‘t see any kind of troll or manipulation.

UPDATE: Coingrag got banned from this Auction.

Every future bid need to be done from Member ranked Users and up.
Newbies and jr. Members Users Bids will be not accepted.

I am a bit confused as to what happened between quote 1 and quote 2. As far as I can tell, this user has done nothing wrong and without explanation this seems like you're just changing the rules on the fly. Besides that, you say that all future bids must be from Members and higher ranks, but that would not disqualify past bids (specifically, Coingrag's top bid). That user won the mystery box from Minerjones as well, so it seems like they're just around for some honest auction participation (unless there's something I don't see/know).

Why were they banned from this auction?

Sorry the Rules for this Auction is set and will not change

You say this, but have clearly just changed a rule, and this was said only a few hours after you had changed the rules, so again I am left confused.
1208  Economy / Lending / Re: Legendary Member looking for a loan of $60 for less than a week on: September 14, 2018, 06:05:34 AM
Are you able to sign an old address from your account? Would consider funding this if you are able to do so. You aren't throwing up any crazy red-flags in my book. The only terms that would be preferable for me would be to tie the amounts to BTC rather than $ if that would be possible. Do you have anything that would be considered collateral? That would make it a sure thing that you secure this loan.
1209  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Downsizing Mining Operation on: September 14, 2018, 05:03:15 AM
I'm confused because at one point you say that you are not interested in parting out your rigs, but then immediately under that you mention the prices for each part. I would be interested in purchasing a 1080ti (or multiple, depending on the price). Seems like the best ROI for any of your rigs for a potential customer would be somewhere around two-years if they're lucky. You should consider dropping the prices and parting out your GPUs individually, as this will drive the most interest your way.

What is the lowest you would be willing to accept for any brand of 1080ti? What fan configuration do they have?
1210  Other / Meta / Re: "This user recently woke up from a long period of inactivity." on: September 14, 2018, 04:00:53 AM
The criteria that triggers this message has been outlined in the past. Regularly you can find information regarding a particular topic by just using the Forum Search function. I'm horrible at using the Search function, but I just searched for "This user recently woke up from a long period of inactivity." and it warranted this :

It shows up if a user has logged in with their last login time being at least 6 months ago.

I believe the message remains for 30-days after it has been triggered, but I will have to do a bit more reading/research before I can say definitively.
1211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where to buy BTC in Canada on: September 14, 2018, 03:56:17 AM
If I was in Canada and needed coin, I would just use a VPN or something similar and use a Non-KYC exchange. Make sure what you are doing is legal, as many times the laws will allow for you to actually use these services legally under a VPN or something of the sort. I don't have any sites or exchanges off the top of my head, but generally the popular exchanges used internationally don't require many or any documents. They will mostly take a look at your IP and greenlight you from there.

Outside of purchasing from an exchange though you can indirectly purchase mining gear and mine for your coin, as this may or may not be more feasible depending on the scope of your purchase-plan.

As a disclaimer, don't hold coins for longer than you absolutely need to on any exchange. They're notorious for your coins disappearing.
1212  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Auction Mania!] BTCC 1K, 5K, 10K Chips, Cryptoart & more! on: September 14, 2018, 03:41:17 AM
Do you have any remaining physical, funded coins or have I missed most of the fun? Considering throwing a bid up on one or a few of the coins you have currently up for auction, but I'm curious to know what is remaining from the OP, if anything in terms of what I'm looking for.
1213  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [AUCTION] 8x Satori Coins Serialnumbers >22750 on: September 14, 2018, 03:23:27 AM
You know why it wouldn't be. You are acting as though there is no reason for anybody to hold any skepticism about your bid. We have been hurt in the past and you hopefully can understand where we are coming from when newbies regularly screw up auctions and raffles for everyone else.

It would be extraordinarily helpful if you were able to provide a signed message that includes your bid, username and date from an address that holds at least your bid amount for verification. This would ease everybody up a bit, I'm sure. We welcome newbies, but certain users prohibit them from participating in their sales threads, because they regularly come with more headaches than they are worth. Not saying this is the case, but if you are serious about your bid there are ways to prove it.
1214  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Video Card Sale! West coast USA. on: September 14, 2018, 03:08:53 AM
No worries davecoin. My beef wasn't with you, I just didn't like the other user contributing nothing to the thread beyond accusations, slander, false claims and complaints. It didn't help anybody in the situation, serving as a marker of self-indulgence and arrogance. I appreciate you remaining respectful and simply declining an offer you are not interested in. If you would be willing, can you shoot me your lowest price in PM? Might as well take one final swing at coming to an agreement, unless you're unwilling to go any lower than stated in OP.

Glad to hear that you are in the profit, that's what we're all fighting for, and that's why I can't pay the asking price. Good luck with sales, sincerely, and I'll be waiting for that PM. Smiley
1215  Economy / Goods / Re: Trezor 1 - Brand New on: September 14, 2018, 02:45:41 AM
Since this is your only post that you have ever produced on this forum you may understand my skepticism when there is a particular word lacking from your OP: "Escrow". Particularly, are you willing to accept escrow for this transaction? Your account was created 3-minutes prior to posting this, so I would highly suggest everybody considering this deal to exercise extreme caution. Do not perform a transaction on this forum without a reputable escrow.

Additionally, are you able to upload a picture of the item with your username and the date alongside it to prove that it is indeed in-hand?
1216  Economy / Goods / Re: [FOR SALE] Firearms Mega Thread on: September 14, 2018, 02:08:12 AM
How is the scope on the Remington 1903a3 Sporter? I had a scope recently that needed to be replaced, there just was no sighting it properly. It was throwing me off for years, but I'm just curious if you've experienced any kind of problems with the scope on that one.

Would you consider lowering your price at all on the Richardson M12? Just picked up a similar one for $140 (It was a once in a lifetime deal, I'll admit it), but in a perfect world we could get it somewhere closer to that.
1217  Economy / Securities / Re: LoyceV's Legendary 10 Month 10 Person 10 Altcoin Investment Roller Coaster #2 on: September 14, 2018, 01:50:56 AM
Bitcoin Dominance is up 10% in one month alone, does that imply that we are in for a bumpy ride or should we expect it to get better from here? I'd say place your bets, but it appears we already have. 1-Month down, 9 more to go, this will be over in no time. If we can keep up these kind of gains then you won't hear me complaining; although, I am a bit unimpressed after seeing what our alts were up to only a few days ago. Thanks for keeping us updated Loyce.
1218  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Auction] minerjones mystery box 2. on: September 13, 2018, 06:59:53 PM
Bitcoin Swag based on final bid.

My only concern about this entire thing is this term. It seems to imply that the goods are chosen after the final bid has already been confirmed. It would be preferable if the goods were chosen prior to the bidding, as this would add more of an element of surprise and save from any concerns that they (the winner) personally got robbed (for whatever reason). Are there any other considerations other than the final bid that determines what is included? It's definitely not unfair, but it's just something that I think removes the idea of an "auction"; it's more like a reverse auction when we say a number then you decide what we're getting. Tongue
1219  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Auction] minerjones mystery box. ENDED on: September 13, 2018, 06:26:27 PM
That is a lot of things to pull out of a mystery box. I started scrolling through the picture, but then it just kept going with more items! Silver Bitcoin Penny, Polymerbits, Satori Chip, a bunch of things I do not recognize, Denarium, Killyou's coin and a bunch of other stuff. That box is mighty healthy, IMO. Wouldn't mind a catalog of what was inside, because I'm too clueless to identify some of it. Best Mystery Box I've seen on the forum so far, and really making me consider bidding on the current one.
1220  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Where I've been for the last 2 years; and- PizzaForCoins.com- legitimate or not? on: September 13, 2018, 06:22:08 PM
I believe that PizzaForCoins used to be a reputable service. I think they just stopped processing orders or updating their API, but still are accepting your BTC. I almost fell for it one night myself, but then realized that the domino's they are claiming to place my order was closed for years.

I would consider that coin gone, but it's possible that someone may answer you call and respond to you. I've heard from people that used it successfully years ago, but not since then. Sorry to hear about your collectibles, but good on you for fighting through it and making it work beyond that.
