Not sure if you noticed or care, but there are a couple of boxes on the spreadsheet on the Merit stats tab that are not formatting properly and throwing off the calculations. Thought I'd bring it up, because I like to peak at the merit stats.
2002  Other / Meta / Re: Mark as Read if Seen in Preview on: April 24, 2018, 11:34:15 AM
I am confused then, if this is the case. My watchlist almost never shows me the "visited link" status; when I read a thread it disappears completely from my watchlist until it has been replied to again. For example, if I mark them as read manually they will disappear from the list until a new reply is made.

Do I have some weird settings? I would honestly prefer it to appear as you have explained, but this is not the case for me. If it just went between bold and regular, this would be better for me to manage and would take care of the issue I am describing. For some reason, the only way I can get a watchlist thread to show as a "visited link" is if I do some preview post-mode things mentioned already.

Is your watchlist constantly filled with the threads you watch and switch  between v-link and bold? This is what mine looks like currently :

I have dozens of threads on my watchlist, and can see them all if I click "edit watchlist", but normally they disappear unless there is a new reply. It sounds like yours operates differently.

What makes you think I got hacked.

Isn't it obvious?

anal beads

The eyeroll was meant to indicate that they were joking, c'mon pharma-boy! Sir, bitcoin is great for earn many. Strong passwords are consist of special character and hard-phrase. Keep it safe to avoid hackers.

I think you got hakee, because when merit is disabled as security precaution it mean you compromised.

Been up 26 hours and I'm hearing music in my head that I know isn't really coming out of any speaker.

Could it be possible that you are seeing merit messages that aren't really coming out of any webpage?
2004  Other / Meta / Re: "YOU CANNOT MERIT THAT POST" on: April 22, 2018, 01:02:16 PM
Have you tried the simplest solution, The Pharmacist? 99% of computer problems are fixed through a reboot. I'm wondering if you have tried relogging, clearing your cache or any of that basic nonsense? I know, I know, it is redundant and almost offensive for me to be asking these things. Sometimes though, we over complicate an issue, I've done it a million times.
2005  Other / Meta / Re: "YOU CANNOT MERIT THAT POST" on: April 22, 2018, 12:59:08 PM
you say the post is in this topic:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=131841.0

which one do you want to merit? i am asking because i will test to sent a merit myself.
or quote it.

I am also curious, because I have some extra merit and I wouldn't mind using 1 or two in an attempt to track down the issue. I have never received that message before and I've been under the impression there is no such thing as a post that cannot be merited.

I opened every post's +Merit page within the thread linked above, and none of them look out of the ordinary. My only explanation would be that either the posts are doing something silly in the database where they appear as a deleted value or there is a Merit blacklist similar to the old "Scammer" tag.

This is the post in question :

By the way, who assays (an assay costs about $60) about 4oz of silver? And you have no documentation from this place?.

I actually had about $2500 worth of metal assayed. If you act professionally, are wearing a suit and carrying a few grand in bullion nearly any reputable shop will assay for free if they think they may be able to buy it. If you role in wearing shorts and a t shirt with 4oz's of shady silver they will either tell you to get lost or charge you. The fee is to keep schmucks out of their place of business asking to get a piece of costume jewelry tested.

YOU GOT MORE SILVER THAN YOU PAID FOR W/ME INCLUDING THE BARBER HAL.

This isn't a true statement as we made a deal at X.X btc for a certain amount of silver. Coming back now and saying, "yeah well based on spot you got the silver you paid for" is a false argument because our deal (and your ad incidentally) was for under spot; I wouldn't have bought it otherwise. If we were talking a percent or three That's one thing, but up to 12% low is quite another; especially based on your promise that only Sterling and .999 shot went into the crucible.

Your attitude is losing you more business than you could possibly imagine. You are a youngster and seem to be new to business in general so here is a free tip. The way you treat your customers when there are issues is directly related to how successful you will be. An ethical businessman would be in contact with your other buyers to alert them to the fact that some assayed samples have shown low and offering to make it right

Instead you create this thread to try and both discredit me and shame me into being quiet about it lest I get perceived as a scammer trying to extort you. Sorry but that crap doesn't fly in my world.

Even with your piss poor attitude, if you want to take a moment of self reflection to realize what's going on here would be willing to discuss a resolution. A little maturity will take you far in these situations.

Otherwise how about this, 25 btc escrowed bet on the table that the four bars will not average over .925 (overall, so if 2oz is .95 and 2oz is .85 then overall avg would be .9 and I would win) when assayed by a 3rd party. If you are so sure I am a scammer, that's easy money. You could buy that bitmit scrap you want plus a bunch of silver shot. I am sure we can find a reputable third party to pick a location locally.

Will leave it to the community/mods to determine if this deserves a scammer tag or not.

Also would be happy to post all our pm's with your consent for people to judge for themselves

Regards.

Ps- I have never insinuated, said or implied I would show up at your doorstep nor have I threatened you in any way so please stop with the inflammatory chatter. I don't even have your address anymore beyond the city you live.

I can merit it, quote it and do everything else I wish with it, no problem.

Payments for this week have been sent. (e0f5b80dccc18c83f57d12c8cbef2a1ebeb8c0370fac56a6ad272ff8808a5275)

Anyone want to get paid via Lightning Network?   Tongue Cheesy

Is it a joke or it is something that could be done if there is enough interest in?

I'm being (semi) serious. Still doing research and figuring out how to set up an LN node right now, but it would be possible Soon™

I'd join in on the testing of this. I can't really find good information about it, but it seems interesting from what I have been able to find. Want to PM me some information on it?

Week 11 Payment received and confirmed.

How did your alts drop to -1? Shocked We're all still here.
2007  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Joe's Signatureless Challenge: Win $25 + 8 Merits every week! (Round 6) on: April 22, 2018, 01:46:31 AM
Joe seems like they have been pretty busy lately and I would just give it a few days. I would consider the announcement of last round's winners and the start of the next round to be on-hold until we hear from Joe, officially.

Thanks for saving me the time. Now I don't even have to open their submissions. I'm assuming you've posted this in the plagiarism thread, or should I go ahead and do that for you?
2009  Other / Meta / Re: overwhelming consensus excludes Lauda, remains in DT2, went in2 buz w sold act on: April 20, 2018, 02:37:27 AM
I haven't been reading along very much to keep track of what's going on, but I am enjoying the top-notch Jordan Peterson meme.

It would seem that the discussion is intentionally inflammatory and unnecessary. Albeit entertaining when I have the time to read it, it would seem there is a system in place for a reason.

I suggest allowing people to make up their own minds about Inclusions/Exclusions and cease moral extortions that are primarily baseless and exaggerated to laughable territory.

I'm not gonna even try to guess what "buz" is.

I pictured a devious Lauda following children onto a bus with act 2 of a copyrighted play to entertain them and steal their DT inclusion.
2010  Other / Off-topic / Re: sMerit Post-Review on: April 20, 2018, 02:24:08 AM

Both of your submissions have received a hefty amount of merit. Therefore, I do not seem them as fitting one of my main criteria of being "under-merited". Good job earning merit, but this is not something I'm going to add onto.

Your first submission is the 1200th reply in megathread. Your second and third submissions are the same post. It is simply asking a question "When to dump?", which is a ridiculously foolish thing to be asking. Plus, it's been discussed to death in a million different variations. You're not going to receive merit like this.

Your only submission is the 600th+ post in a spam megathread about bounties/airdrops. That's not going to receive merit.

Your keep breaking rules. You've submitted multiple times before I got around to reviewing the original submission. This is going to earn you a ban from the service pretty soon.
2011  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Used Asus turbo 1080 ti on: April 20, 2018, 02:08:04 AM
I am off to the post office.  to drop the card off.

Looks like everything went well at the post office. Tracking number is active, and it looks like it'll arrive in just a couple days. Thanks for the quick shipping, you got that out to me quick.

1 msi   aero    1080ti
1 omen pc with 2 1080ti's  9 months on warranty

These are the most likely pieces of gear that I would be interested in. The MSI Aero's have been running really nice for me. A lot of people prefer EVGA, but I honestly like MSI better. The Omen PC is something I'll take another look at, you've posted the specs in another thread so I'll look at them and get back to you on that. I've been wanting to build another Desktop PC, but I might not have to with that machine Tongue

1 msi    1080ti  hybrid/seahawk cooled
1 msi    corsair 1080ti hybrid  cooled

I have little to no experience with hybrid and water cooled cards so I'm not that comfortable taking them on unless it is easier than I am making it out to be. I just don't want to mess anything up or bite off more than I can chew. If I were to grab one, it would probably be one of these MSI cards to give it a try. I hear the temperatures are much better, is that true?
2012  Other / Off-topic / Re: sMerit Post-Review on: April 20, 2018, 02:00:16 AM

Your first submission seems to have the right intention behind it, but it is not very compelling to me and it is very hard to understand it as it was written. This is not something I am interested in giving merit at this time. Your second submissions seems to primarily revolve around giving someone trading tips. Another instance, where I would assume whoever it is helping to give you merit for such a post. They aren't creative or anything that hasn't been said before, so I'll have to pass. The "tip" you provide in your third submission is not consistent. This is primarily only true during a bearish market, or a dump of some kind. It is not a good thing to trade on or bet any money on. The fourth submission has already received multiple merit, so I'll leave that post as it is. Your last submission is simply berating HODLers, baselessly, so I'll pass on all of these.

I feel like I reviewed this exact post in the past.  Huh

Your first submission has been deleted, which is always an interesting start. Second submission is a one-liner in a bounty thread. Third and fourth are pointless posts that read generic and boring without adding anything to the conversation; also, they're in spam-megathreads.

Am I accidentally reviewing the same posts that I've already done? I feel like I already saw a couple of these posts, and now I've gotta do some reading to figure out what's going on. Anyways, I've watched the thread and will be waiting to play it before I give any merit. I am very interested in playing it, though.
2013  Economy / Services / Re: Earn 4 740% in BTC on crypto arbitrage! Cutting edge crypto arbitrage service! on: April 19, 2018, 02:39:24 PM
We can't giveaway signals that are already sold, we need to split signal streams.

This seems like an extremely strange way to approach free-trials to a paid service. You would think that you would want to give customers as close to the authentic experience as you possible can. With that being said, I have known many "signal providers" to do exactly as you are suggesting so I think that would be a fine idea.

As long as the information is profitable and successful then nobody is going to complain. If you are worried about cheapening your product as you have eluded to, then I would suggest splitting the streams and offering a free-trial with one of them. Is this something you are going to make happen? I will be interested in this if that is implemented.
2014  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Used Asus turbo 1080 ti on: April 19, 2018, 01:27:03 PM
I am selling off all my 1080 tis that are air cooled
Pm me an offer

Do you have a seperate thread for your MSI cards or are those all gone now?

I have discussed through PM with philipma1957 the purchase of another one of their 1080TIs. Very pleased with the price, quick responses and the quality of the previous card. Already got my tracking number within a few hours of confirmation of my payment. Shipping won't take long, and I fully expect this card to be in as good of shape as the last card; phenomenal. I have a bigger fear of the shipping company handling my cards than I do of philipma1957 sending a bad unit or sending him my money without escrow for that matter.

Always a pleasure, and if you have more of those MSI cards I very well might be interested.
2015  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin vs increasing number of altcoins on: April 19, 2018, 01:07:25 PM
it was created with the purpose of pump and dump

Care to explain this a bit more? I'm not aware of this.

they die and meat their inevitable doom.

Did somebody say meat?  Shocked

we currently have somewhere around 1500 altcoins instead of having 500,000 of them.

It certainly feels as though there are 500,000 of them. Where can I find a reliable source on the amount of altcoins in existence/circulation? It looks like there's about 1,500 altcoins announcing ICOs on this forum every month.

past 9 years bitcoin price was not affected by them in the long run!

I agree. They've certainly caused quite a few hiccups along the way though. It's almost like the altcoins are protesting while Bitcoin has the main stage just to grab a bit of attention. It's annoying, but the show must go on! I don't realistically see any altcoin threatening the price of Bitcoin long term, unless one of them finally brings an innovation or creative solution of some kind to the market.
2016  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Antminer V9 $175 Shipped CONUS on: April 19, 2018, 12:48:13 PM
Thanks for the informative response. I'm pretty clueless when it comes to mining, so it's nice when people don't get upset about my constant questioning. Sounds like you're profiting and so it might be better in your hands until I determine my electricity situation better.

I had not considered the noise difference in GPU mining Vs. ASIC mining. Everyone is telling me that it is ungodly. So, for now I'll have to pass. I didn't want to leave you hanging for a response.
2017  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Many Bitcoin Miners Are at Risk of Turning Unprofitable (Bloomberg) on: April 19, 2018, 02:52:10 AM
Agreed. Watever u do, please use only money u can afford to lose.

This rule goes for every investment or gamble you are thinking about. I would apply this universally throughout my life. It's never going to steer you wrong, unless you were going to score upon blind-luck and this is not something to realistically bet anything valuable on.

Previous batches of miners bought at higher prices will never ROI.

If you paid too much for a miner, I agree, you're screwed unless you continue mining and wait for a price spike or attempt to wait it out until it becomes more profitable, which won't happen because new technology will be introduced before that happens.

Do note, profitability and miner prices were far higher back then. In December, an S9 miner cost like 5000-7000 USD on Ebay LOL

I've just been buying 1080TIs for extremely cheap and leaving them mining altcoins. It has been extremely effective, only takes me a few months to ROI and so I'm a happy camper thus far. Overspending on the wrong hardware is the worst play in mining.
2018  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Antminer V9 $175 Shipped CONUS on: April 19, 2018, 02:27:15 AM
The trouble with this miner, if I am not mistaken, is that it is not profitable unless your electricity costs are extremely low; is that right? I am honestly pretty interested in the unit, because I may have access to exactly that, but I'm looking to get a better handle on things before I jump into ASIC mining. I've been having a good time with GPU miners, what sort of returns are you getting from this? It hashes at 4TH/s? Aren't these just underclocked S7's or something like that?
2019  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Make $75 Daily | Guaranteed | Instant Delivery on: April 18, 2018, 11:05:02 PM
You really shouldn't double post. There's no reason that the two posts above couldn't have been included in a single response. This is frowned upon heavily, for multiple reasons and I would advise against it.

I understand that a vouch copy has already been sent to another member, but I was trying to make the point that two reviews and well written feedbacks would be extremely helpful towards your sales. One review is often assumed to be a friend or an alternate account; I am not accusing you of these things. I am simply trying to help you improve the reputation of your product and get it off the ground running.

if i hear one more complain about the price being $10 I will literally shoot the price up so high that everyone is going to start calling me greedy

I wouldn't place my bets on anyone calling you greedy, but I would bet my money that your thread goes silent and not a single person purchases your method. You do not have the attitude for sales, so it would be very helpful towards your interests if you allowed us to assist. I would like to receive a vouch copy, and if your method is good I will make the case for it. Everyone will be interested if there are multiple high ranking members talking praises of your method.

Does this method involve farming and selling accounts?

Try it or be quite.

Be quite what?
2020  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Make $75 Daily | Guaranteed | Instant Delivery on: April 18, 2018, 04:01:07 PM
only 10$ to earn 75 $ aday ?? is unbelivable

That is actually the primary theme from the last thread that OP started. TryNinja seemed to explain his feelings on the situation exactly.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3333249.0

The old thread can be found here, I imagine it was locked because OP didn't enjoy the direction of the discussion. It is a real concern, but I am willing to receive a vouch copy and give it a fair shake before I shoot it down. There is a lot of doubt in my mind, but I always enjoy being impressed by something out of the ordinary and positive.
