1901  Economy / Auctions / Re: [SELLING] YourFirstBitcoin.com & BitcoinShifter.com on: May 11, 2018, 03:07:17 PM
I came in here, thinking that I was going to be able to place a bid for a couple hundred dollars at most. This is your first post, and you're claiming to have bids over $8,000 without anyone claiming this bid.

Are you able to prove that you are the owner of these domains? I'm assuming you accept escrow for this kind of thing, please correct me if I am wrong. Where are these bids currently placed and who has made these bids? This thread doesn't follow almost any of the normal criteria for a credible auction.

It would be a good idea for you to read the following post and restructure your auction accordingly - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=287020.0

It would also be helpful for you to produce some kind of statistics that are verifiable and helpful for a potential buyer to know.
1902  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Crypto Quilts / 100% Handmade on: May 11, 2018, 02:57:04 PM
Is there any reason that you have decided to decrease the size and increase the quantity of quilts being produced? I imagine it is because you are attempting to appeal to a larger audience and don't have the capabilities to produce them all at the first quilt's size. Please clarify, because I know you mention these would be better for framing, but I truly believe people are more interested in using the quilt for it's intended purpose of warmth. People love a good snuggle. They've got their Bitcoin mug, sipping their tea while being covered in their Bitcoin blanket and fall asleep while pretending their ASIC miner is a white noise machine.

I would like to see all of the quilts large, but that's just my personal take. The ethereum quilt looks ridiculously good, better even than the Bitcoin one. Please do post updates and pictures from each project.

It seems to be that your best bet is in the collectibles section, but it's a tricky one. Minerjones might know better than I would.
1903  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why social networks ban cryptocurrency? on: May 11, 2018, 02:46:56 PM
To be fair, most cryptocurrencies are more similar to gambling or pornography than anything else. Most ICOs these days are bringing nothing into the market, except a promise to become rich. They've banned cryptocurrencies, because of the airdrop spam that is taking over their platform. The same way we dislike airdrop spammers around this forum, they dislike them everywhere else. It is not organic marketing and it is wasting resources while doing nothing except being obnoxious.

What are you talking about? I have no clue what you mean by "knock the RAM necesity down to 4GB". I'm really confused what the purpose of your post was...

1905  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [MAKE MONEY] Crypto Auto Profits - Make 25$ - 125$ a day on autopilot on: May 11, 2018, 01:22:25 AM
I can't exactly tell if you have given away the final vouch copy of this method yet. I would be extremely interested in giving an in-depth review of the method if you are still handing out review copies. I would be able to produce a review ASAP, because I have free-time and I'm looking for a good earning strategy to add to my hand.

If you still are willing to give me that vouch copy, please shoot me a PM. I'll give it an honest try and an honest review. I will not make any judgements before I give it a chance. I noticed that somebody else has already asked for the vouch copy, but if for whatever reason you are offering an extra or do not wish to give them to copy then feel free to slide it over my way.
1906  Other / Meta / Re: Share your thoughts : sMerit Review, Rank-Up Challenge, Signatureless Campaign on: May 11, 2018, 01:09:28 AM
Do you mean a thread?

Yes. I do. Good eye.

Bill, which thread is making you confused, about it belonging to a specific section?
If it's your smerit review, it belongs in Off-topic.
If it's general post review, it belongs in Beginner's and Help.

I'm trying to consolidate the opinions of everyone that has chipped in thus far. Primarily though, you've summed it up nicely. From what I've heard from staff, it would seem that sMerit review belongs in Off-Topic (where it cannot properly operate). Therefore, so I can keep the flame alive I will remake my thread in Beginner's and Help with some tweaks to it. There will not be merit being distributed, only posting behavior, quality and the contributions being brought forward are going to be subjectively judged on their value and if need be, redirected towards a more productive way of being.

I'll probably be locking this thread up tonight, unless someone has anything else to add that is going to be a game changer. Mostly got all of the information and input that I needed to move forward. Now it's been clarified adequately, and I have a solution to my own predicament. I appreciate the input and votes from everyone. Going to leave this open, so that I can post a link to my new thread and you guys can give me critique or whatever is necessary.
1907  Other / Meta / Re: LoyceV's Merit source application on: May 11, 2018, 12:30:32 AM
Merit isn't my main reason for being here, so I'm only reading boards I value.

I was just poking fun. I doubt merit is anyone's main reason for being here. There may be one amusingly obsessed individual, but outside of them I wouldn't place that label upon you or anyone else. There's no reason to start reading boards that are without value, and this would actually give your more credibility as a source. Not forcing yourself into a section, simply because it is deprived of merit seems to be a quality rather than a negative.

Theymos, muh man, you know LoyceV holds it down; why you frontin'? (as the kids say)

I do read different boards sometimes, but usually end up getting people band instead of meriting them.

Maybe that's the problem. Merit and Bans are like the Good cop, Bad cop routine and staff sees you more as a "Bad cop" kind of user. You've gotta show them you've got a gentle touch when the situation calls for it.

Theymos, making me wait is mean and cruel Tongue

He's turned the application process into a twisted tantric outlet for himself, so it seems. Shocked

If I assume allGlobal Moderators are also merit sources, then yes, it happens.

Is that a fair assumption to make? Would the evidence or the announcements support the idea that they are all merit sources? Also, outside of Global moderators or other DT members, are there any examples of those with a negative DT trust rating that are sources?
1908  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I got merits, lots of them - do you want some?? on: May 11, 2018, 12:15:13 AM
There's a first time for everything. I was honestly expecting you to mention that he was already on your famous ignore list. I hear you've got quite the impressive stack building up. I never crossed paths with them, until one day I did. At first it was light-hearted, entertaining and honestly pretty pleasant. They're an extremely volatile individual, so as expected it soured and now there seems to be no more love.

At any rate, I imagine it would be hard for members to follow in your footsteps, TMAN. If they are seeking to become better members that accumulate merit without giving it any consideration, then I believe replicating your behaviors would be the wrong thing for them. You're quite the individual, and you serve a unique purpose. We can't all be like you, and I know that's not what you're suggesting these newbies do. I'm just warning these newbies that they cannot simply mimic your personality, being straightforward, harsh and to the point hoping that it will be their path. Pretty soon they'll be plagiarizing your posts, it always seems to happen once you start trying to provide assistance to the lower ranking members for some reason.
1909  Other / Meta / Re: Stolen acct [VERIFIED signed msg inside]... DT's needed, Ty! on: May 10, 2018, 11:46:42 PM
I've been here with you every step of the way so far, and I've been trying to help every place I can. Now I only have one piece of advice to keep your process going smoothly. Delete your old "Bump" posts, or at least consolidate them into one. Your thread looks like a mess and this is against the guidelines and potentially the rules. Not sure or not if admins take action upon this kind of thing, but it is at the very least frowned upon and may hurt your cause. This is just my two-cents, but the last 5-posts in this thread are all you. Looks messy, please delete the old bumps before posting a new one.

The account has already been tagged with negative trust from a DT member. It is essentially "locked down". The person currently using it will be unable to use it for a profit through signature campaigns, which seems to be what they were doing previously. They also will be untrusted if they make any attempt to deal within the marketplace. The potential victim will be redirected to this thread and see that they are not someone to deal with.

I imagine if they actually "lock it down", then it will just take longer for you to get the account recovered and returned to regular operating status. Let this run it's course, clean up your thread and have a little faith.
1910  Other / Meta / Re: Share your thoughts : sMerit Review, Rank-Up Challenge, Signatureless Campaign on: May 10, 2018, 11:23:12 PM
So far there still is no solid agreement on whether or not it belongs in which board. It seems to be boiled down to mostly Beginner's & Help, Off-Topic, or some kind of new board. I have no clue how this would get brought to resolution. From the votes it seems that there is a strong majority of people that believe these threads are in some way beneficial for our community. I imagine that most of the people in disagreement with the concept would be brought on board with a few minor adjustments or tweaks.

As I said, probably tonight I will make an attempt at creating a new board in the Beginner's and Help section, with some changes in priorities, terms and rewards. It'll be a reformed version, mostly just for evaluation and not for merit distribution.
1911  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I got merits, lots of them - do you want some?? on: May 10, 2018, 08:21:35 PM
I just might write up an ebook on how to become a better Bitcointalk forum user, and with any luck TMAN will write the foreword. There's a lot of good information in your OP, and throughout the thread, but I would love to add much more onto the subject. It's much tougher than speaking fluent English, in fact quite a good chunk of merit gets moved around in local boards; increasingly more each day.

He explains how to get them without begging for them. Beggars are a real nuisance, especially the ones who won't read or work for their rewards.

Was that a stab at digaran? I can't help but feel like it was.  Wink

i mean are you threatening us? Your topic says 'want some?" and here you are saying that dont PM me for merits?

I don't think you understand the definition of "threatening". Asking someone if they want some of what you have is not a threat, unless they are holding a weapon to you or have a clenched fist. The man is catching fish in the river, filling his boat and asking you if you are interested in the knowledge that has made his fishing trip so profitable. The fact that you believe TMAN offering you information to improve your position is a threat is indicative that you are not fit for the lessons being attempted.
1912  Other / Meta / Re: LoyceV's Merit source application on: May 10, 2018, 06:42:08 PM
I've thought about this too. I mainly read boards that are interesting for me, and indeed, they don't seem to have a lack of merit around there.

Start exploring boards that are of no interest to you, maybe you'll have a better shot at things. Search for the land deprived of merit and weave that board into your own circus of merit dancing monkeys.

Then again, without any official word, we can only guess. I know more people are waiting, and that list was only updated by theymos once, a few days after merit was introduced.

There should be a more systematic way to track the progress of your application. Simple notices of acknowledgement, review, refusal or delay in processing would be a pleasant implementation. I can see that this would add more work, but the current methods seem to be leaving threads like yours to accumulate thousands of views only to leave us all in suspense.

Apparently, digaran resigned from being a merit source.
Reference: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3436932.0
He now want to be a merit source again: Reapplying as a merit source!.

I'm wondering if there are any merit sources with a negative trust rating from a DT member. I haven't given myself the couple minutes to check, but did his negative trust or his merit resignation come first? I wasn't around for that day, or those couple of days, it's been a busy past month. I've missed a lot of the nuance and inner-workings of these issues.
1913  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Antminer V9 $150 Shipped CONUS on: May 10, 2018, 05:24:39 PM
Looks like I was the only one left out of the loop on this one then. No worries, I just wanted to make sure that your offer was taken seriously, because you seem like an honest user just out to buy some hardware. You actually don't even need to know the email to make an attempt at recovery. I don't want to clutter up their thread here, but take a read through this thread - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0 .

"Typically, the only acceptable method of proving ownership is by signing a message (including current date and desired new email address) using a Bitcoin address or PGP key associated with the account. A Bitcoin address or PGP key is associated with the account only if the account posted the key/address, sent it in a PM, or if it is still listed in the account's profile." - Theymos

You can make a post in Meta to better understand the process or shoot me a PM and I'll do my best to answer any questions.

I'd be very interested to hear how this deal ends, by the way. Once you receive the package, let us know that it is in working condition and that the hashrate is as expected, etc. Happy to see that this ended up in someone's hands that knows what to do with it, are you going to be able to pull a profit with this thing?
1914  Other / Meta / Re: Share your thoughts : sMerit Review, Rank-Up Challenge, Signatureless Campaign on: May 10, 2018, 02:49:53 PM
It seems that the voting is starting to go heavily in one direction and that makes me a feel a little bit better about running the thread previously. I was thinking that it's entirely possible that I can continue the idea of my thread without it being a "Merit giveaway". I've come to the conclusion that I will probably open up a thread within the Beginner's & Help board with a more general idea of "Post Review". Since the original idea of the thread was to give a resource for lower ranking members to improve their posting behaviors, formulate their opinions more appropriately and get a better understanding for the rules/guidelines of the forum. I'll probably have the same idea, but give out no merit and simply give my opinion on the posting behavior and habits of whoever applies to hear my opinion.

I'll have people submit their posts, with a maximum of 3-5, and I'll give my opinion the same way that I always have without any promise of merit. If I find an extremely interesting post, or one that I would organically merit, then I won't avoid doing so, but at least it doesn't step on any toes this way. Thoughts?
1915  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Whats the first thing to begin crypto with As A Newbie? on: May 10, 2018, 02:21:25 PM
As everyone else has said HCP gave you a solid starting point for sure. Everytime someone asks me how they should get their start in cryptocurrency, the first suggestion I give to them is to read the original Bitcoin whitepaper. You can go here to read it - https://bitcoin.org/bitcoin.pdf . Now something else that I always suggest to people is to go back and read through the original email threads that Satoshi went back and forth with developers and interested parties; they've asked just about every question you can think of and it will save you a lot of time in understanding Bitcoin. https://satoshi.nakamotoinstitute.org/emails/cryptography/ That website in general is a wealth of information to get some fundamentals down. I can't stress enough how important it is to understand the original intentions, principals and plans.
1916  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Antminer V9 $150 Shipped CONUS on: May 10, 2018, 02:08:00 PM
That's pretty unfortunate. Have you attempted to recover the account? If there is an associated Bitcoin address that you can prove ownership of then there is a good chance you'll receive your account back. The newbie tag will dissipate in due time, I wouldn't worry too much about that. He's been active and posting, so it would seem strange the they wouldn't accept your offer and respond, especially since you are offering to use a reputable escrow and pay their fees. Being a newbie is no reason not to take your offer seriously.
1917  Other / Meta / Re: Share your thoughts : sMerit Review, Rank-Up Challenge, Signatureless Campaign on: May 07, 2018, 01:14:41 AM
The only word I have heard from staff is that it doesn't belong in Meta or Marketplace, but maybe Beginner's and Help would actually be a more fitting home. I'm wondering if it would be appropriate for me to move the thread there, but at this point I'm genuinely wondering if I should even want to keep the thread going.
1918  Other / Meta / Re: Reapplying as a merit source! on: May 06, 2018, 11:33:32 PM
Read previous posts before talking.

I have done exactly as you have asked, only I've done so before posting the first time. Not sure what gave you the impression I didn't. You attempted to extort people, because you're (in your own words) a "beggar and a bigot" that'll do anything for a penny or a jump session. There isn't a single person around here that is willing to vouch for you or your behavior. Now you're asking to become a merit source, with your reasoning being "immunity" and without applying in the proper format. You'll notice a trend developing within this thread, maybe these quotes will help:

From what I've seen you can't possibly "behave maturely", or coherently.

Op either has mental issues or narcotics issues.

I have essentially ignored him except when he blatantly lies about me specifically.

Something makes me think that Digaran made this thread and just left it to see how much controversy it would cause.

you want to see that you still somewhat have an authority in the forum which I personally don't think you need, especially when you resorted to attempted to extort money out of people just to remove your red tag for them.

What more is there to read? Nobody takes you seriously. I'm at a loss, it's clear you have given up even attempting to be humorous or entertaining at this point. Some of us are not keen to your gibberish, so you'll have to dumb it down for us. Are you yanking our chains?

Seems to me like you just didn't want to respond to this :
Because if you know DT members who are enrolling their alt accounts now, you have the power to report them in the scam accusation board and put an end on their abuse of power.

Since you have no evidence, and are talking out of your ass.
1919  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Antminer V9 $150 Shipped CONUS on: May 06, 2018, 11:22:48 PM
150.

Ill bite. I'll pay OgNastys escrow.

I can't help but feel like my lowball offer served as a bump to facilitate the deal. I definitely wouldn't mind receiving an Agent-Fee, for assisting in the marketing of your miner. In case you can't tell, I'm joking.

That being said, this is the first Newbie I have ever seen with a positive trust rating from a DT member (are there others?). I was initially convinced that this was going to be a B.S. offer and an attempt at your miner, but then I looked into it and saw them mention OG's escrow. Very interesting, good luck to the both of you on having a smooth transaction.
1920  Other / Meta / Re: Share your thoughts : sMerit Review, Rank-Up Challenge, Signatureless Campaign on: May 06, 2018, 11:14:19 PM
It seems like there are more votes for these type of threads being a benefit, rather than a detriment, but this is not enough to convince me that the community has a positive outlook on these kind of threads. It seems like most of the users that are sharing positive feedback about these type of threads are exactly the type of users that are not going to earn any merit and maybe should have their opinions disregarded. I'm not sure if we should care more about the opinion of those we can help improve or worry about the opinion of those that are able to help more, at least in this scenario.

I'm not interested in muddying the waters when it comes to proper improvement, suggestions, posting behavior and merit distribution. If I cannot come up with another challenge that has a high approval rating, then I will simply use my sMerit "as originally intended". I find it very difficult to manually find posts that I would merit "as originally intended", but we'll see how things go.
