I still need tons of merits for Sr and hero, well I just gave it a shot.

Well your merit is outpacing your activity so far, so I think you will have no problems when it comes time for you to rank up. You're earning at a very good pace, and I doubt you will be held back by the merit system from ranking up.

This post essentially says "That is not funny." This kind of post is absurdly underwhelming and I hope that I never find myself in a position where I am meriting these kind of submissions. There is nothing substantial or compelling about this post whatsoever. It is basically a one-liner that is in response to someone else and it isn't even that well thought out.
1962  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: YouTubeTV/Kimb0SCAMz ---- the shit droppings of a serial scammer on: April 27, 2018, 03:17:29 PM
Wouldn't this thread be better served in the Scam Accusation or Reputation board(s)? The digital good section may be where a lot of the scamming is taking place, but this is not where the proper attention will be put into this matter. Have any of their accounts been banned? If they are evading a ban, then staff is pretty good about keeping them at bay.

There's been a lot of information on the auto-selling, low-ranking scammers that are running rampant. I think DT members will be more likely to investigate further connections and tag all of the alternate accounts if this ends up in the proper section. That's just my two cents. They are very clearly abusing the marketplace trust system against you, and it's very obnoxious.
1963  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: One (1) Merit point to Rank-up Service, READ THE RULES BEFORE YOU APPLY!! on: April 27, 2018, 02:53:51 PM
I had the honour to make another remarkable user -TheQuin a Hero, some days ago. He is also a good example of a contributor. Learn quite some good stuff from him myself.

Well look at you go. That's some credentials right there. It's probably more like "some weeks ago" at this point, but a late congratulations to the both of you. TheQuin posts like a mad-man and I don't understand how they're able to do it. Very informative, good contributor and they bounce around boards like it's nobodies business. I've learned a bunch from them myself.

The avatar represent me, still newbie in the field, but I love my beard. I'll probably will change it with the time.

Wide-eyed baby with a beard. That's a marvelous spirit-animal. I'll be very interested to watch the transformation and evolution of your avatar as time comes to pass. The final form of this bearded-baby is surely going to be something wonderful. I consider myself a "newbie in the field" as well, even though I've been around for years. I probably should educate myself more; maybe then I will be worthy of your service. I will pop my head in at 999 merit, to see if I qualify for such a high-honor.

Sorry that it took me awhile to loop-back around to this thread. I've been so busy lately that my head is spinning. Can't keep up with all of the threads I've posted in. It is fun to always have something to read through, though. Nice to see that you're still operating, I'm sure TheQuin is proud.  Cool
1964  Other / Meta / Re: Secret Question issue: theymos, consider hassle to recover locked account on: April 27, 2018, 01:55:08 PM
This forum is full with information and but not organised for sure. There are a lot of information I have not even encountered.

How do you propose we organize this ocean of information? It is not meant to be perfectly organized, it is a forum and it operates as such. Any improvements are probably going to be seriously considered, and theymos would love to hear them. The information that you and I have not encountered can be accessed through the "Search" function. If you are asking for a re-cap of everything that's ever happened on the forum, good luck with that. There is not a single soul that is aware of everything going on here, or all of the information being presented. Indeed, I have forgotten more information that I've read here than I can remember. There is no "perfect" system to organize millions of people's thoughts and discussions.

You can not expect someone to know everything about everything. This forum is an ocean mate.

You must misunderstand me. I am not saying that someone is expected to know "everything about everything", but I am suggesting that people should spend a few minutes researching what should be high-priority issues. A very high-priority issue, would include things like Account Security, Bitcoin Security, Rules, Guidelines, How Bitcoin Works, etc.

You see the fears bill?
Please bill please... Thank you for understanding.

I see the fears and I share them with you guys. The security question has been proven to be a security flaw and so most people do not even have one set, from what I understand. I think it is goofy that it operates the way it does, too. I wish that it was fixed as much as the next user, because it's like a booby-trap to lock someone out of their own account. I imagine that with the new forum software being developed this will be a problem of the past.

I simply say it will be pushed aside, because it has been discussed to death and the result is where we are now. It's not an unreasonable thing to discuss, but it has already been done and I see nothing new being presented at this point.
1965  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Joe's Signatureless Challenge: Win $25 + 8 Merits every week! (PAUSED) on: April 27, 2018, 01:30:37 PM
you pay with your privacy.

As is the price of most things these days. Too many people are ready and willing to give this up for the feeling of safety or a quick dollar. You pay with your privacy, your time, potentially your reputation and all the opportunities that you are neglecting while doing these bounties. The cost is too high to even participate.

I have sent documents, my telegram, created a twitter, etc.... did a bunch of useless tasks and received from 5cc to 20 usd. I think it's just a waste of time.

All you did was a whole bunch of work to save these companies money, unfortunately. They would've paid more money for your information if they tried to acquire it from some kind of marketing agency and you did a bunch of advertising, basically for free, because all they wanted was your information to inflate their numbers and mark you down as a "customer/purchaser" illegitimately. It's a dirty game, and nobody should play.

In the long term, you will make more money educating yourself than joining bounties.

I don't even believe it is restricted to the long-term. I think in the short-term you would be better off doing anything else with your time. Even filling out surveys for money pays better and more consistently that these trash bounties, and at least they're honest about invading your privacy. I agree though, educating yourself, making smart investments with your time rather than doing whatever you believe to be the easiest dollar.
1966  Economy / Economics / Re: When do you guys think we will hit the next Accumulation stage? on: April 27, 2018, 01:09:58 PM
The next "accumulation stage" as you have put it is going to come at a time that we are not expecting. Although it is fairly obvious that positive exposure is one thing that is going to cause people to gain enough interest to accumulate Bitcoin or invest any money into the technology. Legislation that allows or gives incentive to trade Bitcoin, such as increased integration or creating markets as we see with the Future trading; these are things that would drive more people towards Bitcoin from the general public.

If there is a great loss of faith in Fiat currency, then we will see more disenfranchised young people interested in Bitcoin. Young people like volatile investments and Bitcoin offers this as well. Bitcoin will receive tremendous accumulation over the next few years as young people become interested, informed and invested in Bitcoin. There are endless opportunities for Bitcoin to gain a very rapid accumulation, that would quickly double or triple the current demand for the coin with ease. A world war, in my opinion would cause Bitcoin (and gold) to skyrocket like we've never seen. Even a rigid shift in the oil economy around the world could rapidly drive people away from USD towards Bitcoin.

I could go on and on about theoretical situations that would trigger what you're talking about, it is simply a matter of time before one of them lines up with reality.
1967  Other / Off-topic / Re: sMerit Post-Review on: April 27, 2018, 12:27:14 PM

You have already received multiple merit from multiple users, therefore this doesn't really fit my criteria of "under-merited". Also, I've seen many threads like this already made, and I believe I have one or two on my Watchlist as we speak. With that being said, I will not be giving your submission any merit at this time.

Very bland and boring post. I don't want to give merit out for discussing bounties, airdrops or signature campaigns. It doesn't seem like the right kind of material to be giving merit.

I've added your first submission to my Watchlist, and if I have to reference it in the future then I will slide you a merit point at that time. For now though, you've already received multiple merit from multiple users so it doesn't really fit my criteria. It is a very well written post, it is informative, but since it's already received merit it will have to wait until it becomes something I reference. Your second submission is the same way. I would be giving these merit if they hadn't already earned as much as they have. Don't want to run out of merit quickly, so this is a rule for the safety of my merit; you'd be taking them all away otherwise. Sad

There you go, I've given your third submission a Merit, because I was unaware of 80%/17th million coin being mined and this was very interesting to me. There are some interesting implications that this will have on mining, supply/demand and all of that good stuff. I'll be jumping in your thread if I think of anything worth saying.
1968  Other / Meta / Re: Secret Question issue: theymos, consider hassle to recover locked account on: April 27, 2018, 11:55:38 AM
- My suggestion (no pressure) is why not then remove the secret question feature from the profile setting page? This will help to save unnecessary locks.

Your suggestion will almost certainly be pushed aside and forgotten about. Secret questions have done more good than harm when it comes to protecting and recovering accounts. You talk about how much you hate to see how long it takes for people to recover their accounts, but this length of time will only increase if there is no "Secret Question". I'm a little uninformed on this issue, in the sense that I don't know if the Secret Question works at all. I've just avoided it like the plague since a few years back when all the hubbub around it happened.

A fairly advanced user like me will do it always.
It really is frustrating to see people are trying to recover their account from months and still unsuccessful (some have really legit proof).
The forum is lacking organised FAQ section IMO.

You believe that it is a fairly advanced that doesn't read stickies or educate themselves on the security of their accounts?
The forum is not lacking in FAQ, because there are stickies in almost every single section that effectively act as such.
1969  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Joe's Signatureless Challenge: Win $25 + 8 Merits every week! (PAUSED) on: April 27, 2018, 11:46:35 AM
Can we put on our personal signatures?

The short answer is going to be, "yes". If there is no challenge going on, then there is no obligation for you to wear the signature. Although, one of the main points of this entire challenge is to kind of show the light to lower-ranking members about airdrops, bounties and spamming around the forum. Do as you wish, because the round has been "paused", not "extended".

You're free to come back when the challenge picks itself back up.

Please note, I am not running the challenge, so everything I say is just how I have interpreted the situation. Joe may have a completely different take, and I would advise you wait to hear from him, if possible. I just wanted to get what I believe to be the correct answer to you, since it may be awhile until Joe pops in.
1970  Other / Off-topic / Re: sMerit Post-Review on: April 27, 2018, 04:02:41 AM

Your submissions are exclusively cliches that have been said thousands of times before. They are not interesting posts and they don't really say anything. There is no substance to them. I honestly don't know what the purpose of you beginning those threads was. I will not be giving you merit for either of these threads as they are insubstantial and not compelling by any measure. Feel free to adjust your posting habits and resubmit once you have improved.
1971  Other / Meta / Re: Why are posts deleted? on: April 27, 2018, 03:31:27 AM
Are you receiving a PM that is telling you that your posts have been deleted?

If you are receiving no PM, this indicates that the entire thread has been trashed. The moderators have been extra strict lately about spam, threads that don't belong or should be locked. Many threads are disappearing, being moved or locked at a rapid pace these days. It is spring-cleaning time.

A lot of your posts are 100th+ reply in a thread, these type of threads regularly get removed for encouraging people to spam responses that add nothing.
1972  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Copy / Paste Rules on: April 27, 2018, 03:14:28 AM
You would think that this should be mostly common sense, but I can see that is plainly is not. Thank you for making a thread about it, even though I'm sure it'll get lost in the weeds rather quickly. If, at the very least, it informs even a couple of newbies then I would consider this thread a success.

I will note this

I'm not sure if this is someone who has now seen the light, or what's going on. Were you unaware of this information prior to this, and do you need to go back and edit any of your posts?

There is already a rule on the books for this, but I feel like newbies don't bother to even check out the stickies before spamming themselves out of existence.

A refresher never hurt anyone though, so I've passed a merit your way.
1973  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What's your political orientation? on: April 27, 2018, 03:06:17 AM
No matter who uses it, it is and always will be a tool that provides the freedom from goverment internvention, seizure and inflation.

This is what attracted me to Bitcoin originally. One word "Decentralization" was the single most attractive thing I had ever heard.

Markets are a bit up, nation is quite strong, liberty - authority ratio is good, you could be a libertarian, but gotta work on that economic axis  Tongue
I would probably ignore the societal axis, since the questions seemed to be weird.
For example: Do you think we should favor traditions over progress (I believe it was something simmilar), almost pointless.

There were a few questions that I felt were way too vague, for the sake of brevity presumably, and these had me stumped for awhile. Suggest me some economic reading, where can I get some information? As I said, very clueless, mostly ignored politics and economics my entire life. Markets are important, but maybe I have too much compassion weighing on it, or something. I think most American's would have a strong nation bias, it's pretty heavily embedded in our culture.

What defines a libertarian?
1974  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Signature Campaign for starters? on: April 27, 2018, 02:58:54 AM
Hi there i been on bitcointalk awhile now.

There are very few reputable users that would consider the few months since your registration to be "awhile". You are still considered an extremely new user around here, and I find it peculiar that even you would consider this to be "awhile".

have good ranking.

Again, I don't think that anybody believes that "member" is a "good" or high-rank. This goes hand-in-hand with the fact that you haven't been here for awhile. I suggest educating yourself a little more about the expectations of each board before you post a thread within it. You can start your reading here : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0

Once you figure out what each board is meant for, you will be able to find a better home, as Vod has suggested. I would suggest "Beginner's and Help", personally. Although, I would suggest you use the "Search" function to find similar threads discussing this topic; there are many.

I like to start with a Signature Campaign just to try out an easy one.
What recommendations do you have? lower skill and easy to try easy to sign up etc.

My only recommendation is to stick around longer, do more reading of the stickied threads and educate yourself on the feelings around the community on people asking about bounties in this manner. Your criteria shouldn't be an "easy" campaign, but a campaign with integrity; one that you can support, endorse, invest in and feels that it aligns in such a way that the relationship is mutually beneficial. Nobody is interested in paying you money, because you want to "test out an easy campaign." That's nonsense-talk.
1975  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What's your political orientation? on: April 27, 2018, 02:42:54 AM
I just finished taking the 8-values test and I am no better off than I was when I started. It also calls me a centrist, so who knows what to make of that.

My results were -
Centrist :

Economic Axis : Centrist | Equality 44.5% | Markets 55.5%
Diplomatic Axis: Patriotic | Nation 63.8% | World 36.2%
Civil Axis : Moderate | Liberty 56.9% | Authority 43.1%
Societal Axis : Progressive | Tradition 34.6% | Progress 65.4%

It seems like my strongest leanings (according to this test) are on the Diplomatic Axis, favoring my Nation, and on the Societal Axis favoring "Progress".

Take it as you will, but I'm still very much unsure about what any of it means.

IMO Bitcoin is still a force for freedom regardless, though.

With those Economics results, I would kill to pick your brain. I consider myself rather clueless on economics, and this result is interesting as hell.

The community has become less libertarian as it has expanded

Do you think the community or Bitcoin have the possibility to change minds on economics issues?
1976  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] iPhone 6S 32GB Space Gray on: April 27, 2018, 02:18:02 AM
I  can lower the price to 300 USD because i have to pay for the shipping too.

How much bro?

Literally the sentence before your post is the quote and it answers your question directly. The specs are all the same, all you need to do is look up "iPhone 6S 32GB". Your reply reads like the classic Craigslist scammers that are asking questions already blatantly answered.

Pm me for the specs please.

I have a feeling you have no intentions of purchasing this phone, because you haven't even taken the time to read through the thread. I will eat my words if you can produce proof of ownership over an address with $300 (give or take). The questions you've asked are very strange.
1977  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Have 1k usd Pokerstars, Want 850 usd worth of BTC on: April 27, 2018, 01:31:07 AM
If that's the case I have no problem to apologize to him...

My suggestion would be to refrain from jumping to rash conclusions and acting out in this way towards people that you do not know anything about. I don't know that person either, but the way you approached the situation was disgusting, in my opinion.

I'm willing to negotiate the rate and the amount of the trade, but not the time. I can do a 22% for 140 usd, and then wait some days to trade again, but I'm not waiting until you get your money out of Pokerstars, it's too risky.

See, that's my dilemma. It seems too risky to just give you the BTC once you share your password to an account that you can recover, change the password to or do anything else that you wish. I want to do what is going to keep me safe, there is no risk involved if an escrow holds the funds until I get my money out of Pokerstars. What is the risk with an escrow involved?
1978  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What's your political orientation? on: April 27, 2018, 01:05:07 AM
8values seems to be the most popular quiz around
https://8values.github.io/

The only negative thing I see is that Tradition is listed against Progress as in those two oppose eachother and can't go hand in hand

I took a quick peek through some of the questions, and I thing there may be more issues with the test than simply that mutual exclusivity that you've pointed out. The way some of them are worded are very, awkward to interpret properly and some of them are hinging upon caveats and single words that change the entire interaction with the question.

I'll go through it tonight and see where I fall, tried to do it now but 70 questions is a heap.
1979  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Crypto Quilts / 100% Handmade on: April 27, 2018, 12:55:32 AM
I've messaged the buyer and will leave it up to him if he wants to comment. The buyer and I never really discussed the purchase being private, but will let him comment if he seems fit. The quilt is still in transit.

Well, I shall be waiting with baited breath. Even if you could elaborate a bit more on the situation that would be helpful; did they contact you during or after the auction and was it through PM? Are you willing to disclose the price that was paid for the quilt?

Since it is still in transit, I imagine they will have little to say about it as of yet, because it's rather hard to review something you haven't received. That being said, even having confirmation from someone that they have paid for it would be nice. I'll also assume that the buyer contacted you after the auction, since it is still in transit it would have been relatively recent. Unless they are located quite far away, either way I would love whatever clarification you are comfortable with providing. I've been following since the first quilt was being stitched, so it feels weird to end it with a big question mark.
1980  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What's your political orientation? on: April 26, 2018, 11:50:59 PM
I have no idea what my political orientation is. I've been struggling for years to figure it out. Most people would probably think that makes me a centrist, but I'm unsure. I've been listening to social/political commentary from every angle that I can possible find and I still cannot pinpoint my orientation to any meaningful degree.

How do you define these things?
