2021  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Many Bitcoin Miners Are at Risk of Turning Unprofitable (Bloomberg) on: April 18, 2018, 03:52:31 PM
I suggest dont go all in or too deep into mining guys. This bubble will burst and will end badly for some

I'm very interested to hear some elaboration on this "bubble" that you're speaking of. Can you clue me in to what kind of bubble of going to burst and what kind of effect you think it will have directly? I understand you think the bubble bursting would be negative, but I don't see a bubble and I'm unsure how exactly that negativity would manifest itself.

Of course there's no reason to take out a second mortgage on the house, putting your family at risk and bet it all on a New batch of S9's. I think there is a reasonable buy-in for mining, but it becomes much more profitable with a single price-spike. Price volatility is the name of the game and we have a strong history of exploding past the expectations of every financial speculation. There are a lot of miners so the profit is scarce, but with the difficulty rising, new technology being introduced and the price dropping from the ATH there will be many that pull out of this market. That will make mining much more profitable for those that stick it out, and sticking it out will be very much worth it in the long-run. It always has been.
2022  Other / Meta / Re: Report Sufficiently Answered Topic(s) to Lock on: April 18, 2018, 03:43:55 PM
They (Moderators) are now responding to "lock thread" requests.

You have no evidence that suggests they are responding to "lock-requests." The moderators are locking spam threads, this doesn't mean that your reporting is being considered to achieve that. The scent of self-centrism is quite off-putting.

Have the moderators explained that they are responding to "lock-requests," or are you making messy conclusions, based on half-baked premises?

You can lock the thread now.

That's a little bit rude and self-serving of you. There are other conversations and suggestions being discussed, and it would seem abrupt and pointless to lock the thread simply because you believe to have gotten what you wanted from it.

I will lock the thread when I feel it has been sufficiently discussed or there is nothing to add. Do not act condescending and attempt to order people around.

I'm mostly interested in hearing a staff member, moderator or someone with close-contact to such members as they would have a better perspective on the situation than the single anecdote you've provided.
2023  Economy / Services / Re: Earn 4 740% in BTC on crypto arbitrage! Cutting edge crypto arbitrage service! on: April 18, 2018, 03:35:13 PM
As others have said, it sounds too good to be true and it is coming from somebody with absolutely no reputation. This is going to be a tough sell without allowing a few users access on a trial basis for review and feedback of your service. You are asking a pretty high buy-in for your services to begin with, which is understandable if it accomplishes what you claim it will accomplish. However, it would seem you would get more benefit from simply doing the arbitrage yourself than you would from flooding the market with people doing exactly the same strategy, buys and sells as you. This just seems like something that is going to kill itself, because there is only so much room in the market, or it simply is not as advertised and you are looking for a quick buck out of those that buy in.

Either way, the only way to move this project forward is for you to allow people in on a trial basis. Otherwise, this is dead in the water and you might as well enjoy the rewards of your arbitrage strategy to yourself.
2024  Economy / Services / Re: [BUY] Native English proofreading on: April 18, 2018, 03:14:37 PM
When the next tasks arrive, I will remember who helped/wished to help here.

When that time comes, since you say you will have work in the future, please consider me as an option. I have come across this thread a bit late for this assignment, but I would love to be part of the next session. I hope you will post how your experience went, by picking these two candidates; the trust ratings for one of them stands out as a red-flag to me. I'd be very interested to know how it turns out and if you are satisfied with the work that was provided.

I'm a Native English speaker; it is the only language I've ever known and I am from America. I'm trying to offer my services wherever they would be applicable and this certainly seems to be an area that we could both mutually benefit through cooperation.
2025  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Make $75 Daily | Guaranteed | Instant Delivery on: April 18, 2018, 02:52:38 PM
I noticed that you have given out a Vouch copy, but have not yet received your review (probably, because it was only a few minutes ago). I am wondering if you would be interested in handing out a vouch copy to my hands as well? I will read it immediately upon delivery and give my full review and unbiased feedback about the method. I've got some spare time on my hands lately and I would love to put some time into a method that works. Wouldn't mind giving this a spin, and an extra vouch copy would go a long way towards boosting your sales if the method works properly.

Might I also suggest that auto-sell links are notoriously alarming for most users around here, especially when considering a purchase from a lower-ranking member.
2026  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: croosade.com - a 2D MMORPG server on: April 18, 2018, 02:36:43 PM
This is an illegally operated Maplestory Private server. This is not something you coded yourself. Your server will be shut down or sued for it's copyrighted material. This is also not a service, so it does not belong in this section. The game that you stole from Nexon to rip-off as your own is not related to cryptocurrency in anyway.

I was genuinely interested in playing a new MMORPG, that's a shame.
2027  Other / Meta / Re: Report Sufficiently Answered Topic(s) to Lock on: April 18, 2018, 11:34:18 AM
I said "that" means that I'm talking about the quoted part from TheQuin's post (above the paragraph) which is the "lock after x number of days without post".
And you quoted only a part of my post which broken the whole statement.

Did you even read my whole post, including the quoted message?

I know exactly what you were talking about. I have no idea what you're attempting to get at with this post, though. I was simply pointing out that fixing a portion of the necro-posting problem will solve a portion of the spam problem. I'm unsure what part of what I said was hard to grasp, because I kept it short, sweet and explained it multiple different ways.

A lot of the spam is made possible by someone reviving a thread that has already fizzled out and regular spammers avoid. I only quoted a portion of your message, because your premise and conclusion were incorrect. It was the heart of your message, the main point and the only portion compelling a response from me.

Which part of my post indicated that I don't understand what you're saying?

All you said was "Auto-Lock won't solve Spam" and then proceeded to give what you believe to be improvements to the Auto-Lock suggestions. So you've made your position abundantly unclear and without substance.

Including the Author's Rank, Last Active Date and new Poster's Rank to the basis might lessen the harm on thread locking automation.

Another bad idea, because all this would do is require the spammer to acquire a higher ranking account to begin threads and allow them to create an entire family tree of spam-threads. It would make higher ranking accounts even more valuable to spammers.
2028  Other / Meta / Re: Who is able and willing to moderate the Politics & Society section? on: April 18, 2018, 01:49:28 AM
Flying Hellfish is the new Politics & Society mod. Thanks for your comments, everyone!

I have no complaints about that choice. Congratulations Flying Hellfish, hope you clean things up a bit around here. I hadn't heard of this user prior to this thread, so it seems I'm an uninformed voter. Shocked

Now let's get to work on solving all of the political issues of the world through what I'm sure will be 100% sane, reasonable discussion going forward.

I can't imagine it would happen any other way. Sane and reasonable is the only way our community knows how to have discussions, after all.

theymos, is it you trolling us on the digaran account? You sly dog.
2029  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Joe's Signatureless Challenge: Win $25 + 8 Merits every week! (Round 6) on: April 18, 2018, 01:44:53 AM
No worries Joe, I can't imagine anybody giving you a hard time because you needed a couple of days to take care of things. Do you need to postpone the next round for a couple of days or do you believe that you'll be up and running today as planned? You've been holding it down impressively, and nobody will hold you at fault if you need some help or some time off. Either way, just let us know when you get a chance.
2030  Other / Meta / Re: Report Sufficiently Answered Topic(s) to Lock on: April 17, 2018, 09:09:30 PM
Using that "auto-lock" feature will help necro-posting but not the spam problem.

It has been awhile since I've gotten a chance to loop back around to this thread, but I have to disagree with what you've said here. The Necro-posting inevitably provokes those threads to be a part of the spam problem. If they had been locked prior to the necro-post, then the spammers would not swarm into the thread. It is a domino affect in many cases, where a necro-post, due to a lack of locking the thread begins the cycle of spamming the thread endlessly. I think the auto-lock feature would help with quite a lot.
2031  Other / Archival / Re: Selling Keys Antivirus on: April 17, 2018, 05:15:49 PM
They are 100% unused, working and genuine.

After taking a peak through your Trust history it is clear that you are abusing the system. Leaving multiple reviews without reason beyond malicious intent. Having people leave your multiple ratings in an attempt to boost the appeal of your reputation page. I can say that your operations seem extremely shady at this point, IMO.

You link to feedback in other threads, rather than relying on your reputation to stand for itself. If these people were truly satisfied with the deals they've performed with you, then I would expect more trust ratings to be on your account. This does not sit well with me, and I believe that you are lying when you say they are genuine. Linking to the feedback is silly, when you have the option of quoting them or simply leaving one another marketplace-trust feedback.

How are these keys acquired? What will be done if the key is deactivated?
2032  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Exchanging BTC > ETH & ETH > BTC on: April 17, 2018, 04:53:37 PM
Such a great services for those who hate the exchange fees. Do you have any Telegram or Skype to contact you easily when I need to exchange it soon?
I suggest you have a VPN in order to left the restricted internet access behind.

How would a VPN speed up my internet? I am extremely confused, because either I have no clue what a VPN is, or you have no clue what my problem is (even though I've explained it multiple times).

I do not use Telegram, and I do not use Skype. If you are interested in contacting me you can do so through PM or within this thread.

Bump

Considering temporarily closing down shop, since my internet has rendered me unable to access just about any of my wallets, exchanges, computers, programs, etc.
2033  Other / Meta / Re: I can not find the section "Job" on: April 17, 2018, 04:13:07 PM
There is no board, sub-board or section "Job". I believe the closest thing you would be able to find is the Marketplace, and potentially Service(s) where people are negotiating and transacting on a daily basis. There isn't really many, or any, employers hiring for "Jobs" around here, so there has never been a need for such a board to exist.

There are threads that attempt to accomplish a compilation of all those seeking to hire for a Job or Service. You would be better served by offering your skills or simply filling a need/niche that is already in existence. What sort of job are you interested in posting? What sort of job are you interested in reading?
2034  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin vs increasing number of altcoins on: April 17, 2018, 03:33:57 PM
It seems like most everyone here is in agreement. These shitcoins that are popping up are not going to be any measurable threat to Bitcoin. I've said it many times, but most of these coins that are popping up are bringing absolutely nothing to the market and are simply capitalizing on uninformed people interested in picking a good investment. All roads lead to Bitcoin.

Why do you word this as if it is assumed to be the case, by the way? "Do you agree ... " implies that there is some presupposed stance that we are to contend with. I am interested in some elaboration on that.
2035  Other / Off-topic / Re: sMerit Post-Review on: April 17, 2018, 03:23:43 PM

I see, megathread, megathread and bad suggestions about altcoins and bounties. No thank you, but feel free to try again.

Your post about relative weakness is simply asking a question that has been answered many times over throughout the years and so I do not see this as warranting merit. One of your submissions is the 200th reply in a megathread full of spam. The rest of your submissions simply do not stick out as substantive, interesting, helpful or something that I feel compelled to merit in any regard.

Almost all you're talking about is Bounties, Airdrops, Campaigns, ICOs and exactly the sort of thing I am not interested in giving merit to. These types of posts and threads are not helpful in the least, in my opinion and I'm not willing to give merit for them.

Megathread, one-liner, spam, useless, unhelpful... There is nothing in any of your submissions that would resemble a "quality" post.

Planning on having these finished within next few minute. I'm completely caught up at this point and only need to review the last 5 people or so. Which, I will be doing later today, most likely.
2036  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Joe's Signatureless Challenge: Win $25 + 8 Merits every week! (Round 6) on: April 17, 2018, 03:22:16 PM
Still waiting for the post count, i wonder if joe is sipping Mojito somewhere with models or what is going on? Roll Eyes

Joe needs his beauty sleep, when he said a winner will be announced by morning he meant the day after tomorrow's morning. Which part of that wasn't clear to you?!  Shocked

And sit tight, a winner for Round 6 will be announced by morning!

Don't worry, Joe, I'll cover for you while you sip mojitos with models.  Cool
Nothing to see here, folks.
2037  Other / Meta / Re: Account recovery... on: April 17, 2018, 01:46:39 PM
There is no reason to bump this thread. As others have made abundantly clear, there is no way that you will be able to recover your account unless you are able to prove ownership. Admins are willing to help out, but not if you are unable to prove that the account is yours. The only way that they are willing to consider your ownership of the account is through what others have already told you.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0 This thread is where all of the information is. You are going to need to accept that the account is gone and just create a new one. You should be aware of what your means of recourse would be if your account gets hacked and protect yourself from these things. It is as easy as a staked address. Without this proof there would be too many accounts turned over to the wrong hands.
2038  Other / Off-topic / Re: sMerit Post-Review on: April 17, 2018, 11:28:17 AM

Threads about SAFEX coin are not something I am interested in pursuing through merit. I am not informed or interested in this topic. I do not see this as something I can comfortably merit at this time.

Deleted, One-Liner, Megathread and spam is all I saw within your submissions. Try again once you garner some semblance of what is appropriate posting behavior around the forum.

This is a neat and silly idea, but without playing the game I cannot throw my merit at it. I am hoping to give the game a try if that is possible, but for right now I do not see that option for me. I'll have to pass, but if you can hook me up with being able to play the game then this would probably change things. I'd love to support small developers for little projects that I find entertaining.

You've received tons of merit for one of your submissions so I will not be adding onto that pile whatsoever. Another submission has received more merit than I am comfortable considering adding on top of for the sake of this service. The scam submission seems like mostly common sense, but if it is helpful to someone then I would expect them to give you merit. If I have to reference this thread then I will throw a merit your way at that time. Your last submission is buried in a megathread, and doesn't really give much specifics about when to sell so all in all I'm going to have to pass on your submissions. The posts worth meriting have already received quite a bit of merit.
2039  Other / Meta / Re: Why the fuck did Admin lock up so many topics? wtf? on: April 17, 2018, 11:25:56 AM
All of the boards/threads you have posted pictures of seem to have only the nonsense threads locked. The threads that have been sufficiently answered and every single new response is redundant, repeated and pointless. Which of the threads you regularly visit and contribute to have been locked? I haven't seen any examples of threads that are meant to turn away the intended user-base for this forum.

If you are asking if mods are intentionally trying to make people leave, the answer is no; they are locking the threads that clutter our forum, in the hopes that people stop spamming in that way to either give incentive for people to change their posting habits or leave. I'm confused whether you were really sad to see "Buying drugs with Bitcoin." or "Bitcoin is Life" get locked, are one of those your favorite thread?
2040  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns [Last update: 15-Feb-2018] on: April 16, 2018, 09:06:34 PM
However, the options listed are not so interesting.

I pop in this thread specifically to read responses like yours. They are not "interesting"? What does that even mean? You have just registered today and seem to be flooding the boards by only posting in spam megathreads that nobody reads or takes seriously. Your interests are unhelpful, at least in the manner they've manifested themselves thus far. Nonetheless, I got a chuckle out of the quote, so at least you're entertaining to some degree.
