You all need to start reading through the thread before posting within it. I have no idea why the first user necro-bumped a thread that hadn't been active for over 3-months. If you need help yourself, then please create a new thread to discuss whatever you need to discuss. Simply walking into a discussion about activity, months after it has ended, to simply say "wat is activity?" is a great way to keep yourself outside of the community forever.

OP, if you are still able to see this thread, please lock the thread in the bottom left-hand corner so that this doesn't continue to happen. These are the kind of people that force you to lock a thread, or every few months it might revive itself with a nonsensical comment.

e - bill gator , please.

Since I finally won one of these things and I seem to be getting in the groove of claiming a spot before they all fill up I might as well keep the pace. Fingers crossed that I can get another pull, wouldn't mind having a few different coins coming my way. May your good mood last an eternity! I flipped through your bitcoincollection, and learned more than my fair share of physical coin knowledge, among other things.
1823  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Buying old pre-2016 BTC adresses/PK for collection - 0.01 eth per address on: May 24, 2018, 04:32:24 PM
I have sent you a PM with just a couple of addresses that you might be interested in. Hopefully you're interested in a few of my addresses and we'll both be able to walk away with what we're looking for. If you're uninterested in these addresses that I have sent you, then please let me know and I will go digging for others. Either way though, I figured this would be a good starting point.
1824  Economy / Collectibles / Re: FREE DAILY RAFFLE UPDATE on: May 24, 2018, 03:08:12 PM
I think there is a distinction between raffles and giveaways, but I might be incorrect about that. If you are selling the tickets for raffle slots, then they are regularly allowed in this section, but I haven't seen any straight giveaways last very long in collectibles. I might be wrong though, don't quote me on it.

I also think making your giveaways invite only is a decent idea, but I can't advocate for it, because I think I would get left out of even more of them. Games and Rounds certainly isn't where it belongs, I would put my money on collectibles, because that's what you're giving away. If someone was giving away a GPU, wouldn't it belong in the Computer Hardware section? I don't see how this is any different.
1825  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: [DAILY FREE RAFFLE]JUST BECAUSE I AM STILL IN A GOOD MOOD 23.0 RIPPLE COIN on: May 24, 2018, 02:56:06 PM
Now that's something else, I didn't assume that I was going to win any of these. That makes me pretty excited, so I'll shoot you a PM with shipping information from a privnote link. Will there need to be a signature when the shipment arrives or can it be left on the porch? Just trying to figure out where I will be when it arrives. Very cool, finally caught one of these giveaways and even managed to win something. I'll definitely be back tomorrow Wink
1826  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: (WIP) Community Compiled List of Sites Browser Mining on: May 24, 2018, 01:19:39 PM
Ahrefs Finds 1 in 7,353 Websites Are Running Cryptocurrency Mining Scripts

That's an alarming number of websites running mining scripts. When you put it into percentages it doesn't appear to be that significant of a number, but with all things considered that is an absurd amount of websites running mining scripts. Certainly not comparable to the amount of sites running traditional ads, but I believe with some etiquette and consensus-based rules developed around the idea of website using mining scripts there can be some fruitful implementation.

Does Ahref have any compiled list of these sites or are they simply gathering statistics?
1827  Other / Meta / Re: mdayonliner on: May 24, 2018, 12:50:09 PM
All the personal information was already posted on bitcointalk and referenced. Nothing new.

If ALL of it was already posted on bitcointalk, then I can't see too much trouble in consolidating it into one place. My worry was that you were using outside sources of information to bring new information onto the forum in order to "expose" them, personally.

He challenged me to post more.

I would encourage you not to play petty games with the person you are attempting to make a scam accusation against. If they challenge you to other nonsensical mundane tasks would you be interested in doing those as well? I have some yard-work that might need doing. If it is not relevant to strengthening or making the case for your accusation then it does not belong in this thread. That would seem to be common sense, in my book.

None of the referral links work anymore - they are to dead ponzi scams.

I probably have some dead links to ponzi scams out there that tricked me into thinking they were legitimate companies. This is not conclusive that they were knowingly promoting a ponzi or scam. Sometimes you just don't know any better and get taken for a ride. We live and we learn.

Running and participating in ponzi scams is illegal in a lot of jurisdictions.

Was he running a ponzi scam? It sounds more like he was trying to make some goofy marketing opportunity work and it turned out to not be all that he bargained for. I'm not defending their actions, but based on the evidence you've presented I don't see much to suggest malice or intent.

I'm dyslexic - so spelling is a challenge.

I'm mostly just messing around, but realistically every browser has a spell-check these days. There's a lot of ways to check if you are putting out mistakes and correct them before the world gets their hands on it.
1828  Economy / Reputation / Re: mdayonliner's Red Trust removal T&C on: May 24, 2018, 12:41:47 PM
Watch the thread play out, pretty sure OP has the right idea here

I just came across this thread, because I saw OP's name in a Scam accusation thread. It read like your generic "DT member X is abusing their power!" thread. Digaran really started a trend for the title of those threads, put a name to the face, so to speak. I think this thread is hilarious in it's intention. I can see that it has gone over a few people's heads, but that is alright and we'll move on from there.

I am risking my only single account for the sake of being dutiful to the forum. I realised if another person step up (I did) to stop these abusers ...

This comes across as pretty self-righteous and it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Be careful, because you might come off as arrogant or a bit full of yourself. You are not risking your account, because the trust ratings left by these people is meaningless. What risk is involved beyond what is happening in that "Scam" accusation thread or your untrusted feedback?

There are many people that are doing a lot to stop abuses of the forum, merit, trust, etc. The "(I did)" part, is kind of "ew."

1 Lucky you. If I were a DT or staff or even high ranked member then I would never give you this second chance. I need to save my own ass.

When you say things like this, it really defeats the entire purpose that I thought you had behind this thread. Maybe I am reading too much into it, but this just makes your ratings sound inconsistent. If your ratings had more power, then you would refuse to review them? How does that bode well for you if we are to take your ratings seriously?

Marlboroza has a point, it does looks rather hypocritical for you to complain and tag people that are doing the same actions and claiming the same excuses as you are.
1829  Other / Meta / Re: mdayonliner on: May 24, 2018, 12:23:43 PM
I thought posting personal information was against the rules around here and grounds for a ban. It screams "childish" whenever I see someone furiously googling away so they can publish personal information, addresses, phone numbers, pictures and the rest of it. First of all, none of us care about this information. Then, you present it as if we're supposed to do something with this information, all because you received a feedback rating that you disagree with. I have no idea how you deal with people in the real world, because this tactic wouldn't work. Do you just show up at people's work place and show off their most recent tweets? Not only is the "Scam accusation" without validity, but your course of action makes you the bad guy, here. I doubt mdayonliner cares if you publish information that they have already made public, but the intentions you clearly have behind posting it are disgusting.

At this point you are not making your "Scam accusation" any stronger. You are only acting maliciously and pedantic. This thread has turned into OP giving mdayonliner free advertisement for their referral links.

You do not understand the terms "Extortion" or "Blackmail". The point of their "Apology" thread clearly went over your head in the first place.

Timeline is irrelevant. "I will give you 24 hours of time to admit your mistake on my trust removal topic ." Is not  a satisfactory solution.

You do not have to feel that the solution is satisfactory. A user has every right to refuse to revise their feedback left on your profile. Many do not wish to second chances or want to be harassed by everyone they've left negative feedback on. If a user is willing to review their feedback on you within a particular time frame, then there is no problem with that, either. Certain users are willing to review their feedback on your profile after X time, some users are willing to review their feedback on your profile within Y time. Their trust ratings should not matter to you regardless, and as you said timeline is irrelevant; what is more relevant are the actions that lead to your negative in the first place, not the offer to make amends.

I thought you would have realised that I'm not good with deadlines.

Not too good at spelling, either. Now is as good of a time as any to start improving.
1830  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Create a Wordpress blog to practice your English on: May 24, 2018, 11:36:51 AM
Reading, questioning and also helping others to understand and correct their English mistakes is what we are doing in the FittoTalk project!!
Maybe you are interested in joining it

I'll have to admit I was a bit skeptical of visiting the website at first, but then I did some digging and also see that Jet Cash is hanging around there. I'll definitely give the project a hand wherever I can. I'm definitely interested, maybe I will even pick up a bit of another language myself. Not sure if that's possible with the project, but I guess we'll see.

I 'm glad to see there are still some people in the forum with the will of helping others with no $ reward!!

Contrary to popular belief, not everything is about money. Whenever there is a meaningful connection to be made, information to be exchanged, or ideas to be explored I always assume it to be worth my time until it proves otherwise.

There are simply tons of ways a certain person can practice his/her english.

I like this goofy project called DuoLingo, helped me a lot.

My grammar is not 100% perfect, but it's accurate enough(I think).

I have no problem reading your posts. There are little hints, here and there, that English isn't your first language, but you convey your thoughts more clearly than most of the kids I went to high-school with.

We did start a board where members can write an article for comment, and this is the first one in that section.

Consider me there, as soon as I have time to make it happen.

ROSSIAcoin

That's a very interesting way for you to spell "Russia". I can't tell how serious this question is, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that we're operating in good faith. Seems to me if each country issues their own cryptocurrency then they would probably be exactly the same as they are today. What would make you think these countries issuing their own cryptocurrency would be any different of an outcome than them issuing their own fiat currency?

There is no inherent difference between cryptocurrency and fiat currency, in terms of growth or adoption, when it is being directly distributed by a particular government and is centralized. It would be identical to the way things are now. Read up on economic statistics for USD, JPY, GBP, AUD and you will see how they would perform.
1832  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Buying old pre-2016 BTC adresses/PK for collection - 0.01 eth per address on: May 24, 2018, 10:41:24 AM
Would you have any interest in purchasing dozens of addresses at once or an entire wallet file by any chance? I have tons of addresses that have moved around many Bitcoins from 2011-2016 that you might be interested in. I could sell the entire wallet file, and even some forks might be unclaimed, but none of the "good" ones.

Thanks for continuing to do the giveaways, even though they've moved your threads into the Gambling section. Similar things have happened to me in the past, my threads get moved after a lot of successful interactions and discussion without any warning to a section that doesn't seem very appropriate. Regardless, we all are thankful.
1834  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How should I start? on: May 23, 2018, 06:11:33 PM
The fact that you are asking the advice of strangers on the internet that may or may not have had any success in that particular area is extremely telling to me. I would encourage you to get more informed and prepared before you go throwing money at anything. Too many people are interested in cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin lately just in order to make a few dollars on a good investment. If this is your primary goal, you will most likely get frustrated and walk away at a loss. I would try trading $2,000 of pretend money on a demo account of some trading platform and see how it goes for you over a 2-3 month period. This should give you a little more insight into how the market would have treated you if you used your real money. This will not be indicative of your future performance, but if you have never traded in the cryptocurrency market then I suggest you do some speculation and demo trading before you dive in head first. These markets are unforgiving, unpredictable and unprecedented. I would suggest only investing once you fully understand the fundamentals of the technology, fully support the protocol and understand what Ebbs and Flows the market. It would be much easier to throw your $2,000 into the HODL club and hangout for the long-haul.

Have you read the whitepaper, could you explain how Bitcoin works if grandma asked you?
1835  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Post Review (Improve your posting behavior) on: May 23, 2018, 04:29:41 PM
Looks like the person that posted theirs for review deleted their post. I was planning to get around to that today, but if anybody else is interested I'm around and willing.

Friendly bump here, put the word "merit" in the subject and you gonna have some more success Smiley

That's exactly what I'm trying to avoid. I'm not going to be giving out merit for this service, and so it seems a little strange that all of the sudden nobody is interested in hearing my opinion their posts. Makes me think I was being taken for a run at my merit with the last thread. I'm open to the possibility that it is simply due to the change from Service to this section, but more realistically it seems like people were hungry for the merit even if they had no chance at receiving it. Just the fact that "merit" was involved in the title of the thread was enough to attract them.

I refrained from responding, because I read through the thread and noticed that you had already gotten a satisfactory response. You thanked those that had given their answers, and seemingly you have come to a solution/resolution. Although, I noticed that you hadn't locked the thread so I was worried that exactly this would happen; there are multiple people repeating the answers, giving their input when you do not need it. I placed your thread on my watchlist, because I had a feeling it might benefit everyone to encourage you to lock the thread.

Please lock the thread if you feel the discussion can be closed, if you are unaware how to lock the thread it is in the bottom-left side of the thread. If you have more questions, let's hear them.
1837  Other / Meta / Re: Share your thoughts : sMerit Review, Rank-Up Challenge, Signatureless Campaign on: May 23, 2018, 03:24:56 PM
Hence it belongs in off-topic/beginners and help.

That's why my thread has been reformed and found a new home for itself within the Beginners and Help board. No more merit, just looking to help those that are interested and willing to ask for it. It gets a lot less attention, but I imagine the attention that it will receive will come with much better intentions and connotations.

threads in services should only be related to services offered by members involving bitcoin payment.

When I heard that it made a lot of sense, but then I thought to myself that there is a lot of cleaning up to do within that section with that being the case.

I don't believe that the merit 'soup kitchen' threads are a good idea

Neither do I, which is exactly why I have made the changes I feel make my thread step away from the "soup kitchen" concept. I'm genuinely more interested in helping people improve their posting habits, behavior, formulating their thoughts more clearly and expressing themselves in a way that is conducive to whatever discussion they're operating within. That being said, it seems these people are much more interested in receiving merit than actually improving themselves. This is evident through the lack of attention my new thread in getting in comparison to the old thread, with the only significant changes being the section and the lack of merit being offered as a possibility. I never gave out merit to undeserving posts, so there was no chance of my thread becoming a "soup kitchen", although there certainly was a lot of users that thought it would happen.

The merit system ws designed to address this, but it seems to have created additional difficulties.

I think the merit system is a slowly trickling solution that is killing our illness patiently. I have certainly noticed an improvement over the past few months in terms of the amount of spam threads, crap posts and irrelevant nonsense. The merit system was certainly a net-positive and it is getting better each day. We can improve upon it, but I think it's getting the job done.

Thanks again for doing the giveaways. We haven't done business together in the past, but I hangout the collectibles section now and then.

I would happily read through any blogs that are started by members seeking to improve their English and give my feedback. I'm no English major, or intellectual, but I can read and let you know if it sounds right. I've been speaking English for decades and have a pretty good eye for things that don't sound right. Simply creating a Wordpress blog might not improve your English skills if nobody is reading and critiquing your use of the language. You would just be practicing bad habits if this were the case, unfortunately. Then you would come here with no greater grasp of the language, but a more concrete foundation for your incorrect usage.

I would like to make a blog for me too. How do you create those?

There are these wonderful tools called "Search Engines" that are wonderful for simple questions. A popular one is Google! It yielded this result, and millions of other resources that answer your exact question. https://websitesetup.org/start-a-blog/
