2061  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SEC Further Tightening Its Belt on: May 06, 2022, 11:12:59 PM
QUESTION: When the US Securities and Exchange Commission said recently that they plan to "police cryptocurrency exchanges and coin offerings, as well as monitor NFTs, decentralized finance platforms, and stablecoins," what exactly do they mean by that?
- Regulate exchanges and token sales that involves US citizens.
- Monitor means study them for now and then introduce new policies to regulate them later on.

Quote
And to what extent can they have control over the crypto market?
They can only act on what happens within their jurisdiction or on activities that involves their own citizens but there's a huge number of crypto playets coming from the US so it's difficult to estimate.

They can regulate only to some extent, like crypto-exchanges which are operating under their jurisdiction.
And so with token or coin offerings being handled under their radar. It means, their scope is also limited.
This is why some crypto-exchanges outside the US have a statement in their ToS that they are not accepting US users.
They can tighten the belt and help lessen these scammers, but it is only within their jurisdiction.
2062  Economy / Gambling / Re: Provably fair RTP ? on: May 06, 2022, 10:35:36 PM
I think that the problem will be(even it is possible of course) that the testing software would be written by people. And we again don`t know is it true test or this dev programmed the result that some casino need. Just someone who is skilled in the programming can test it, but the test is true for him. And the others have to decide can they believe him or not.

There are lots of people that has the skill to analyze the code to see if the code are legit or not.... the thing is, the piece of code that are used for this, must be Open Source and it must also make sure that the entry or entries within the Proprietary code that it queries... must be verified. (It should not link to a false entry within the software)

So there should be some standard OpenSource add-on that can be installed as a plugin option to "Verify" and "Report" the RTP that are configured for that software.

The casino can then receive a "Blue Flag" status.. to say that all their games are running the software and RTP's can be verified. Not just a label that says "Provably Fair".... but a actual link to the review / audit site that manage this.  Wink

It seems no one is really asking seriously from the casinos about this aspect.
Hence, for them there is no need to put those audit links.
But if maybe one user will sincerely ask this to a known casino,
they may possibly assist the user but expect that it will take time as this is not their everyday request from their players.
2063  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Canelo Alvarez vs Dmitry Bivol - May 7 on: May 05, 2022, 11:43:54 PM
Canelo is favorite in this fights, but I don't like low odds for him, and Bivol is undefeated fighter so I expect this to be interesting fight.
There is Sportsbet sponsored prediction competition for this fight Canelo vs Bivol, so you can make your picks and win free bets.
You can find this topic in Games and rounds and participation is completely free: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5397177.0
This is quite reasonable indeed for Canelo because he is indeed a favorite there so it is not wrong for the dealers to do that considering that even though their opponents are bivols who are still providing the best battle and now but still he is an underdog in this battle that makes Bet not too profitable .
But honestly this is too small for Canelo now: D

Even the hall of fame and former middleweight champion and promoter Bernard Hopkins doesn't give Bivol a chance to win against Canelo, he considers this fight a mismatch

Quote
Hopkins is not giving Bivol a chance

“This is a combination of a Philadelphia & New York mugging at 12:oo p.m. with no lights outside,” said Bernard Hopkins to Fighthype about Saturday’s fight between Canelo Alvarez and Dmitry Bivol.

I hope all these predictions that it will be an easy fight are not true and instead will turn out to be a highly competitive one of course with Canelo winning the fight, but I'm not counting Bivol out maybe we'll see the biggest upset to happen, who knows.

Can Bivol change this expectation once inside the ring?
Another couple of days, and we will be watching this fight to reality.
Many are underestimating Bivol, but with the challenges he is facing, I believe, he is motivated to do his best in this fight.
So let us watch this fight and see if Bivol doesn't really have the chance with Canelo.
2064  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador’s central bank accepts Qredo's registration. on: May 05, 2022, 11:08:36 PM
This is a big news, if this has taken place in a country where bitcoin isn't much used and are in need of such services. Qredo getting registered in El Salvador isn't a big news, but this will give people the choice of choosing the service while the people are now used to the chivo wallet.

At least, they have another option for their crypto services other than chivo.
Competition is always good as each platform wants to offer something better than the other.
Which in turn, will provide better services to the people.
Monopoly is not good as they can dictate whatever they want to implement.
With competition, people are free to choose which one suits his needs and not be limited to only one option.
2065  Economy / Gambling / Re: Cash out issue with FortuneJack Casino on: May 05, 2022, 10:15:48 PM
Thanks a lot everybody for your responses. I do believe they are legit and I shouldn't be worrying more than I already am.

I took all the screenshots already. Is there a way to post them in this thread or maybe better to wait for the issue to be fixed in a hopefully nice manner?

I reinstate that I am not accusing them about any wrongdoing atm, it is just unbelievably weird that a transaction that takes 3 to 5 minutes is now taking 3 days after several confirmations I received about it.

Maybe wait a lil bit because they are still replying on your case.
Also, if you want, you can send pm also to FJ account here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=303298
He's just online today, so he will directly know your case and may process your withdrawal faster.
If you have not done any violation whatsoever, I believe you will get your withdrawal without a problem.
And maybe, move this to the gambling discussion board - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=228.0
2066  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most trustable currency on: May 04, 2022, 11:49:00 PM
Guys, Can you really name the coins/tokens that you trust the most?
I think that most people will say that it is Bitcoin. And yes, in my opinion, the most trusted coin is also Bitcoin.
Then, it is followed by BNB and also Ethereum.  BNB and Ethereum are altcoins that have most often network-used, clear fundamentals, and also a strong professional team.
For other altcoins, I think it doesn't need b=very high trust but only certain changes we can take in any situation. Moreover, if they are hype tokens or coins, I will not trust them.

Just stay within the top 10 alts and you will not be wrong about your choices.
But definitely, bitcoin is still at the top and no doubt about it.
If you are holding one of these alts, not only trust but you also need to keep up with their updates.
Because we can never be sure about their future so one way of avoiding possible losses is to know what's going on with the coin itself.
2067  Economy / Gambling / Re: Provably fair RTP ? on: May 04, 2022, 11:08:08 PM
IMO all of these things are really hard.

All you can do, is believe in the provider/casino. Because there is no way we can check RTP, is really the same or not also since this is about gambling their source code is private. If not wrong, in Bitcointalk some casino caught a cheater slot.

IDK, how he do it but is really real. If you worried about this, then "Live Games" is solution rather than Slot.
^ That is right, there is nothing we can do is to trust the casino provider about real-time and actual RTP and trust the system that they provided which is claiming that they have a fair system. At the end, still on the casino behavior of not scamming people the ends and probably that is how their reputation will keep. If we have doubt, sports bet and live betting were totally right for you because you can witness it in a real time.

That is correct, we are only relying on casino's reputation when it comes to RTP.
Because we can't verify this factor and if you are too worried about this.
As DoublerHunter said, just go for sports betting. At least you know, the bookie won't screw you because the results is out of their hands.
2068  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Think New Casino Should Partnered With Bounty Managers To Gain Trust? on: May 03, 2022, 11:55:44 PM

I think everything is based on what is left in good. A casino need to have enough fund before they can advertise here cause they will be spending huge amount of money to advertise here especially through the use of campaign managers.

Many casinos may not have that fund which is the reason why they normally come here and create a thread where gamblers can ask questions and get link to their gambling site. Only platforms that has enough food can hire a campaign manager do advertise for them through signature .

For me, it is not a must to have a campaign here. Great if they can afford to.
Much better if they have working platform free from bugs and other issues.
As long as they take care of their players like no withdrawal issues, provable fairness in place, and others.
In time, they will earn their reputation even if they are not running their campaign.
But if they have more than enough funds, collaborating with known CM here will further give them positive response from the community.
2069  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hard earned money - Busted in seconds on: May 03, 2022, 11:10:19 PM
It was almost two months hard earned money. Got busted in few minutes. I don't know why I wasn't able to have me within the limits. Just started with a $3 bet, but it went upto $98 and ended with empty wallet. This is completely unlucky, because every bets were placed to roll above 20 which means the winning probability is quite high. Anyhow I wasn't in control and I didn't follow the rule gamble what you can afford to loss. It was a money saved to repay a debt. Now once again the interest needs to be paid so to manage the debt for some more time. Unlucky me  Sad Sad Sad

I don't think gambling is bad, but I think is bad being addicted to gambling, from the post I believe you lost l your money because of two reasons which are; you are addicted to gambling and also you are greedy. You started with $3 and you where able to grow the account, why don't you continue growing your account gradually? Also whenever you are gambling you should also learn to take your profit, you shouldn't just leave all your money there I believe you have learnt your lesson and also other forum users will be able to learn from your post.
Addiction is the major cause for the loss. If not, OP could've stopped rather than going for a higher amount and come back after some time. As suggested it is good to grow the account through wagers, and not get greedy just on experiencing some good wins. Taking profits too is a good thing, because leaving the profits will tend to go for higher amount which is taking big risk. Some might get lucky, whereas the majority won't.

But some are not stopping as they want to recover their losses.
I think, most of us experienced that situation, trying to tell ourselves to stop once we lose the next round.
But because we are just human, we are tempted to bet again for the hope of getting back the losses.
Up until, we lose all our bankroll. And that's when we totally stop playing. I also know the feeling as I've been there many times.
But as much as possible, I leave something for myself and not totally walking out zero.
2070  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is there any Bounty who is giving Big Reward. on: May 03, 2022, 10:12:24 PM
All the rates are indicated on the thread of those bounties, so if it's about determining which pays higher. It's all written there and you've got to consider which type of your bounty going to join.
If it's about the success rate, it's far from 2016-2017 era where most of the bounties during that time have higher success rate and that's why it's lucrative for the bounty hunters joining a lot of bounties on those years.

This is true, most bounties today do not end up in exchanges.
The team will distribute your share after months and months, but you will be very lucky if they will have good value in the market.
From the countless bounties that are running today, you will only see few of them to hit in the market.
To minimize wasting your time from this bounty program, maybe look for btc paying campaign even if they are not paying high from your standards.
At least, you are very sure you will get paid at the end of each week. Because giving high rewards from bounty programs is not a thing anymore.
2071  Economy / Exchanges / Re: You can now buy bitcoin on telegram messaging app on: May 02, 2022, 10:28:58 PM
If we have to KYC anyway, we might as well go to an actual exchange which offers more. Another thing, isn't telegram still relying on SMS 2fa? which makes it bad for anything beyond small amounts given how insecure it is.
When we're talking about financial matters on Telegram, I'm always doubtful about it since as I know, this platform was most likely a house of scammers who couldn't give any trust.  So, I didn't convince to use this service because there are a lot of scams that happened on Telegram and now how can we verify the legitimacy of the app.

At least, the topic above becomes an afterthought for me personally, about the bad dealing with crypto in the telegram application channel.
I tend to agree which is better if you will direct on the exchange either DEX or CEX.

Maybe, this is only for convenience purposes for the users.
But if you are dealing with large amount of money, better use CEX or DEX.
We don't know what kind of support also is the telegram giving to its crypto users.
So for now, I guess, this will serve for small transactions and convenience.
2072  Economy / Economics / Re: Argentinian Government Ready to Take Advantage of Crypto Holder on: May 02, 2022, 09:25:04 PM
I am wondering how it would be a success? How they could trace which addresses have been used by which users? It's not possible in a decentralized ecosystem. Only centralized exchange or wallet would be traced and ask for taxes. Anyway could use non-custodial wallets to handle their crypto assets. During sale even they could do it in the black market in case government overcharge the tax.

I do not think that they can trace 100% of Argentinian crypto holders.  They can only have access to centralized exchanges so I think they will start from there.  Actually the following news the next day said that the largest private bank, Banco Galicia, started accepting cryptocurrency investment[1] and probably this had been announced to support the crypto-related activities of the Argentinian government.

Quote
From today, May 2, the home banking of Banco Galicia, the largest private bank in Argentina, offers the option of buying bitcoin (BTC) and other cryptocurrencies to the company's customers.

[1] https://www.criptonoticias.com/negocios/banco-galicia-argentina-vende-bitcoin-criptomonedas-sitio-web/

We all know that any government wouldn't get a hold of the whole picture of crypto movements within their jurisdiction.
So yes, they will start from their local crypto exchanges legally registered under their Central Bank.
Because it is easy to get those numbers from centralized platforms.
And if some of their banks will offer crypto services, then, they will also have those info on hand.
Better take advantage of this crypto market rather than not get anything by banning its existence.
2073  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: May 02, 2022, 09:05:32 PM
This will gonna be an epic fight with rematch schedule in advance.

That will surely be an epic fight but to tell you honestly, way back before, I'm really eyeing and considering Terence Crawford has the upper hand against Errol Spence Jr. knowing how deadly he is in his prime.

But as time goes by, the way Terence Crawford struggles with his previous fight against Shawn Porter, there are signs that he's not already on his usual form different from the time when Crawford vs Spence becomes a hype. Shawn Porter was tagged as the most challenging boxer that Crawford has faced up to this point.

Pointing to Spence Jr., we see how he truly dominated Yordenis Ugas in his previous fight. If Crawford will perform the same he did against Shawn Porter, Spence's recent comment about "38-1 is still a good record of Crawford" might come true. Spence Jr. really got my attention to the point that, I'm now considering him as the King of 147 lbs. - don't take it literally guys but I'm open to any arguments. Smiley

We should really see this fight being happened.

And this is why I am seeing that sportsbooks will slightly favor Spence here.
Also, consider the belts that he is holding compare to Crawford.
And if their promoters will make this fight happen this year, this will be one of the boxing fights that will earn huge money.
We should see this fight as soon as they can, I hope their promoters will not wait too long as their boxers are aging also.
But I am reading that Thurman wants to fight with Crawford first, so whoever wins will fight Spence.

What do you think would they bring to the table of gaming and NFT industry?
As this market is starting to grow like mushrooms, there's something that needs to be unique under their platform.
And when it comes to DEX, the common problem is the liquidity of the trading pair they will include in their line-up.
Any advantage that you are looking at using their services? Just give us idea on why we need to look forward to for this project.
2075  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First Bitcoin City & Volcano Bond Failure on: May 02, 2022, 07:47:20 PM
Misinformation orchestrated by the media is the major cause of the mega protest and purportedly failed bonds.
When the vision is not clearly communicated, failure is inevitable.
Franky1 rightly informed us about what happened in El Salvador. The people will surely revote when the plan is to remove the known and replace with the unknown. But that wasn't the plan but a misinformation. That misinformation might likely be sponsored by the opposition and agents of IMF.
Recently as CAR adopted bitcoin, they have released a public statement stating why other countries should not adopt bitcoin.

The situation in El Salvador, I don't want to consider it a failure. It is a process and the government shouldn't give up until it is achieved. It is a war between the country and enemies of bitcoin and the enemies want to instigate El Salvador government against her people, which is the worse thing that could happen to a government.

And identifying this as a failure, I think, is too early. How are they categorizing it as a failure?
Are there metrics that they can prove that Bukele's decision is a flop? Or just spreading baseless conclusion?
We need numbers to support certain conclusion. And El Salvador is considerably new in their implementation.
Let us give them time to show that this decision towards crypto is not wasted and has positive impact on their economy.
If they totally failed their people, why some countries are following their footsteps towards crypto industry?
2076  Economy / Gambling / Re: Wizary.com |🚀NEW CRYPTO CASINO🚀| 💵10 FREE COINS FOR NEW MEMBER💵 on: May 02, 2022, 07:06:00 PM
I'll see what we can do about the mobile number problem, because it seems to be really many people that they do not want to register because of the mobile number verification.
Many people are skeptical of it because when registering it shouldn't require number verification because many people are too privacy about their numbers so some people don't want this.

Some people may have no problem with number verification to register on your platform but some people still doubt whether this is safe enough or not even though you say it's only for verification.
I hope there will be changes or removing the verification number during registration.
Agree, I hope the OP removes the part that lists Numbers. At first, I signed up and when there was a section where I had to enter a cell phone number, I gave up my intention to join. In my opinion, if this casino doesn't implement KYC then why should any of us have to include a mobile number? KYC and mobile number are the same part in providing personal data that are related to each other.
Maybe they worry about bots and fixing showing up on their site hence the need for a mobile number or even KYC. Though I agree with you, any kind of personal data collected or required in casino/gambling sites would have strong disapproval from users, barring some of them from using the sites because of privacy.
Dealing up with things thats attached to crypto is something that do really correlates about privacy or decentralization on where we do really expect that whenever a new site pops out then
we are really that anticipating that its kyc free but its true that asking out some mobile phone number is something that against on what we do prefer.
If you dont like then you can simply skip it since there are lots of options that you could choose from on the current market today on where there are
lots of options to choose from.

Since the team already knew about the hesitation of most players not to submit their phone numbers,
maybe, they can remove it for now as they want to attract players on their new site.
There are other ways how to mitigate possible abuse within their control like IP restrictions or not allowing VPN.

But on a side note, what caught my eyes is their item 2.8

"2.8. We will block and terminate your account if you notify us or we have reasonable doubt to suspect that you are gambling-addict."

I believe the last part is hard to determine by a casino. Also, it means, they need to carefully analyze the gambling activities of their players.
Most casinos want their players to play without boundaries. So don't know how they can actually implement the last part.

2077  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🤜 GamblingBro.com 🤛 Honest crypto casino reviews ✅ Tested with real deposits ✅ on: May 02, 2022, 01:36:16 PM
That link of yours doesn't work. There is an additional "h" in the https part that needs to be removed.

About your latest review.
Personally, the slow withdrawals wouldn't be too big of an obstacle for me. Especially because they are free. Most crypto casinos charge their players withdrawal fees. But that's not the case here.

I agree that information about a slot's RTP should be visible on the casino, but are the rates verifiable by players? If the casino says their slot has an RTP rate of 97%, but it's actually 92%, can you verify this for yourself? If not, they can claim whatever they want to.

The problem with VPNs is that you might be asked to undergo KYC because the casino wants to know who you are and where you are from. You might be suspected of multi-accounting if many people use the same free VPN. Even if you don't reside in a restricted location, some games might not be accessible to you because of your VPNs IP address and each game provider has their own sets of banned countries and territories.

I have fixed the links, thank you!

I agree that the RTP information can be manipulated, but you know, sooner or later this will come out Wink The providers could add the RTP inside the game, for example (some of the providers are already doing this). A shady casino might try to provide false RTP rates, but they will put their reputation to risk.

@GamblingBro, I have seen that you posted the review link also in the foggystar ANN thread.
But if some users are following your thread here, can you also provide the link of the casino ANN thread aside from your review link?
That would be nice so we will also know if they have thread in the forum or not.

In the case of their withdrawals, maybe they are limiting it because it is free.
However, the casino can place another option that if the player exceeds their daily limits, they will pay the withdrawal fees.
And regarding RTP, Pmalek has his point. It is hard to verify the RTP of the casino. But players would appreciate if it is readily seen on the site.
2078  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin a Partway to Becoming Self-Reliance. on: May 01, 2022, 11:58:59 PM
You can only have financial freedom if you have a lot of bitcoin in your wallet. If you have less than 1 BTC then it might not be enough for you to survived specially if the cost of living in your country is very high.

Of course, we as bitcoin enthusiast know this one, that's why it's better to save and accumulate first before we can claim that we indeed gain our freedom. So invest early and just save as many as you can because the supply is getting thinner.
Yeah, another thing is that BTC doesn’t automatically make you rich, it’s something that takes time. You have to invest and you will have to patience for the market to become bullish, which I know most people hardly do, because they don’t have much to spare, they just want to invest and make earnings quickly which is usually not the case.

But, anyone who is able to have that level of patience and wait till the market goes up will always benefit from it. A lot of people has indeed obtained financial freedom through this.

This is why a lot of newcomers have different perspectives on bitcoin or crypto in general.
They thought this is their path to financial freedom but there's more than meets the eye in this industry.
You can't get rich just by joining or getting on board this market. You need hard work in investing, trading, mining or whatever you ventured with.
This is not a ticket to get rich quick but will give you opportunity to improve your financials if you know what you are doing.
2079  Economy / Economics / Re: Russia suspends gas supplies to Poland and Bulgaria for failing to pay in rouble on: May 01, 2022, 11:23:15 PM
I was expecting to see some European countries do not accept paying the gas price in the rouble to Russia, however doing this will bring many problems for them and they will have issues with supplying gas for their people, by doing so the gas price in Poland Bulgaria and raise and this will make people unhappy also their government should start seeking for a new gas supplier to replace Russia and this will be a pain because finding another gas supplier can a problem but if you are forced for it this will be even harder, but still doing this can be a great a step forward for the rest of European countries.

Most countries have not paid in pieces of paper with the name "ruble", and will not pay. In addition to the Kremlin "litters" such as Hungary, not a single normal consumer paid attention to the tantrums of the Kremlin Fuhrer, and they continue to pay according to the terms of the contract. Let's create a list of countries here who pays in EURO and who pays in Rubles? And compare the balance? Don't you want? Smiley
Russia stands to his threat and starts not to supply the gas for not paying in Ruble, those countries took the risk as well and now facing the problem same thing with Russia. If you have the gas supply, you can really hold it especially if they didn’t meet your terms. I don’t know how long Russia can handle this but EU countries are also suffering because of this, this is a domino effect.
They can't totally do this because some of their allies will be affected as well and as you can see, Russia still want to supply gas but it will be based on their own terms which EU totally disagree. The loser here will be Russia most probably since they are not the only supplier and I'm sure EU have their back up plans with regards to this one. They can't escaped many sanctions, soon they will experience the big effect of these sanctions, I just hope they didn't commit any war crime against the world.

And if they will, I don't think they can sustain waging war against the world.
This early, they are already showing the weakening of their military capabilities.
It seems that this war will be over maybe in the next couple of months.
Other parts of the world are still supporting Ukraine, hence, they are not surrendering yet to Russia.
But Russia is slowly losing their top rank military officials and so their weaponry.
2080  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Horse Racing and Gambling on it should be banned on: May 01, 2022, 10:48:41 PM
it's hard to ban horse racing because this is one of the old types of bets that have fans who are usually rich people. Apart from horse racing, there are also some other races that I feel need to be banned such as dog races, sad to see when dogs are made into racing animals and their bodies are tortured because only the skinny and very hungry will surely win the race.

It is very difficult to prohibit events that cause many large -scale money movements, although horse races are always there, in order to combat the issue of animal use or abuse is that organizations that have to do with animals and their Protection, enter these organisms to avoid disproportionate abuse of animals in the name of sports and do something, this can range from different rules or health controls of animals and that this should apply for both horses and dogs, and Everything that has to do with animals.

Currently the rights of animals have increased and anyone who is discovered to be used or mistreat them should receive punishment, it does not seem badly, because in what other way can they defend themselves? They cannot. With this, all abuse would be ending and the horsepower would not have to eliimate or suffer different types of ban, at the same time the entertainment and fun of people with bets would be maintained.

And this is the reason why there are certain rules when it comes to this kind of animal racing.
They have protocols on how to handle their horses before the race.
However, some owners are opting to utilize drugs and other enhancement methods for their horses.
Now, this is out of control of the governing body because they mostly found out such cases after the race, once one of them died after the event.
But banning this kind of racing, won't go nowhere. Because a lot of people are already involved in this kind of racing as it has been part of the culture already.
