1521  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Split the prize or Reroll? on: October 16, 2022, 08:44:56 PM
Let's say you join a give away with other user and both have to select a number between 1 and 10, you go for 7 while he goes for 9. The winning number is 8.

If the prize is 0.1BTC what would you do? Split the prize and walk away with 0.05 or Reroll to gamble for the full prize?

Interesting question- it is either you go big or you go home.

I think this would depend on the circumstances of a person. If a gambler wants to receive a winning prize no matter what, then going with the safe choice of splitting might be the ideal answer. But if the gambler wants to gamble for entertainment, adrenaline, and for the money, then experiencing the "go big or go home" choice of reroll is the answer.

Personally, I am a safe guy where I always choose the safest option. I would prefer to split the prize and call it a day and use the proceeds to gamble again in my designated gambling website of choice.

Most are selecting the option of splitting the prize and call it a day.
I can understand this decision as you already assure with the prize money.
But if you re-roll, the chance of getting it the next time around is not that high as it goes from 1 to 10.
If the player has the option to select which one of the choices he wants, splitting will be favorable to him.
1522  Economy / Gambling / Re: All the truth about Crazy Time! Is Crazy Time Rigged? on: October 16, 2022, 07:25:47 PM
I used to think that way initially and I changed my mind after winning decent amounts from that game later on. You are experiencing gamblers fallacy op to put it bluntly. All rolls are independent of each other if you think about it.

So many people tried to prove the fact that this game was rigged over time, but they all failed since they could never provide 100% valid proof to verify their claims.

Also, this game has a high house edge and bonus sectors have higher odds when compared to the standard multipliers which basically explains your huge losses op.

I am more on the side that this game has high HE, rather than rigged.
Thinking that this is rigged is indeed hard to justify. And so it is pointless to assert this doubt.
If you are not happy with this game, better find another game that will suit your desires.
There may be articles stating their doubts also but how valid is their allegation because they only presented
possible manipulation in the game but not valid proofs that they are indeed rigging the game.
We can't say for sure about this rigging aspect, better play another game if you feel cheated on this game.
1523  Economy / Gambling / Re: To what extent do you chase anonymity while gambling? on: October 16, 2022, 06:39:22 PM
<snip>
We know that playing online on crypto casinos offers anonymity, but recently these platforms are choosing to be more regulated, because of that, the possibility of being asked for a KYC is much higher compared to the recent years.
Personally, I would choose being anonymous if I think I cannot trust the casino and/or the amount of fund that I can't withdraw is not worth of the KYC documents.
Actually, most casinos also prefers not to ask their gamblers with any KYC documents however they have no choice but to comply as their business will be compromise if they do follow with the regulations set by the government.

Still, some casinos are trying to tie their withdrawal option with KYC requirements which caused some of the gamblers having their funds locked from on the account. It's best to only provide your information to few casino that you trust to avoid future issue involving your identity.

That is why many casinos now made KYC as mandatory for playing in their casinos so there won't be lot of issues when comes up while withdrawal in case of our winning rewards. As mentioned due to AML policies the casinos are forced to implement mandatory KYC so the complete anonymity is not really there anymore.

But here is the reputation of a casino will help us to choose the right and the documents we submit will stay safe in their hands but its really important to read ToS instead of simply ticking the check box while registering on any new platform will resolve lot of confusions in the future.

This is why as jemz mentioned above, as much as possible limit the casinos where you submit your KYC details.
In my opinion, select only the casinos and sportsbooks that you think you can play long term with them.
As we can't avoid submitting kyc these days because most of them are now getting their gambling license,
it is on our part how we choose a site that will be good for long term and know that they have relatively good reputation.
Much better if they have no existing complaints of any kind and has active support that you can find also in this forum.
1524  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Chinese version of Metaverse will be great for meta casinos. on: October 16, 2022, 05:57:18 PM
Mainland China is strictly anti-gambling.... both online and offline wagering are illegal with both punishable by fines and imprisonment.  Roll Eyes  Macau on the other hand, is a special administrative region like Hong Kong, and the only place in China where casinos are legal.

So most of the Chinese people will not be allowed to gamble on that digital platform, with them being one of the strongest economies in the world. So the success of this Chinese Metaverse will be based on the willingness of western countries to migrate to that platform.  Roll Eyes

And if most Chinese are not going to be allowed on that site, it is senseless to think that the news will help boost gambling. Generally I see China as a country denying itself of everything that has to do with modern luxury. It does not like and support cryptocurrency also. China is a country whose citizens live in modern slavery.

What I am thinking is that if majority of Chinese is being denied by this digital advancement,
other progressive countries will find this useful to their citizens, especially those who don't want to get out of their homes.
People are favoring the in-house entertainment because of this pandemic.
So it is easy to market it to other countries which are not very strict with online gambling.
In the future, I think, metaverse will be the new way of life of some people as they embrace this digital age.
1525  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Keymaker Coin - POW / POS on: October 15, 2022, 09:54:29 PM
Without a whitepaper/use cases/roadmap it's really hard be focused on such project Sad
With such percentage of premine Roll Eyes there is an high risk of big dump on the market or liquidation by several parties.
How did you plan to provide this coin to charity? It will be also liquidated on some exchange?

Suggestion: remove $ from total number of coins emitted ($51,670,651.84) since you're not minting USD dollar Smiley

My impression is that this will just be another alt that will be short-lived in the market.
We have seen serious projects that attain long lifespan in this industry.
And with this coin, I don't think they can even survive for couple of years in the trading market.
Though it is too early to judge, but if you have seen a lot of projects already, I don't think this one will find its valuable application in this market.
They need to address certain problem to keep afloat in this market. Otherwise, this can easily be abandoned without warning.
1526  Economy / Gambling / Re: Twitch is going to ban most crypto gambling streamers. Where will Drake go now? on: October 15, 2022, 09:26:56 PM
They may, I didn't know that youtube was also banned, but I believe that it depends on the streamer and what they do to get the viewers. Are you telling me  that drake could stream "anywhere" and I mean literally anywhere and can't find viewers?

Of course he would be able to find some viewers no matter where he streams, I feel like Eddie could do a smaller version of the same thing, of course not as much as Drake but still find some viewers, and that means it is going to be easy to handle. On the other hand, if we are talking about you or me, then it is going to me hard because we wouldn't get a lot of viewers anywhere, so it depends on their fan base, not where they stream.
Finally Drake will make a stream tomorrow on Twitch just few hours before the ban of Stake will officially starts there. So if they are rushing to put in place a stream now and announcing it only one day before, it's certainly because they want to make a last stream on Twitch. What is the reason if it's not because they think themselves they won't get the same success on another streaming platform?

They may not get the same success in the beginning switching to another streaming platform.
But I believe, it would only take time before people will notice the new one.
We can't expect that a new streaming platform will get the same success like twitch.
But if popular streamers will move to this new one, their followers will also follow them.
Give it a time, and you will hear a new popular streaming platform owed to Drake.
1527  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Survey] Do you still play or stop the game? on: October 15, 2022, 08:52:19 PM
Though you'll end up losing the money you put up as a stake, but you'll still make more money. It wouldn't hurt you if you lost all of your profit to gambling because you got enjoyment out of it, but if you can manage to keep your initial capital secure and only risk the money you make after that, all the better. The initial money will at least still be available. However, the majority of gamblers are greedy; perhaps that is one of a gambler's characteristics.
Gambling people will realize that big losses are frustrating. here he will fix the system that was implemented yesterday but return the money that has been lost, it will only continue to be wasted. until he is tired of his position he will realize that playing gambling needs to be relaxed and does not have to be quick to make profits because it is the other way around. systems like you said can turn around greedily in the middle of the road, I've experienced this. the results collected in a few days can be lost because emotions happen again

Based from the poll, the number of voters who will stop playing the game is higher.
But I believe, in actual scenario, most of them will continue to play especially if you are still early in the game.  Tongue
In this scenario, it depends on the player's financial capability and his goals for that session.
They said, they will be stopping early but can they really control the desire to play more?
Because the reason why the OP is experiencing such situation, because just like most, he continues to play despite earning good profits early in his game.
1528  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why ETH price keeps decreasing? on: October 14, 2022, 09:46:12 PM
Zoom out and look at the chart. Look at the price before the merge and after the merge. Before the merge, people kept on buying the coin with the hope of making some quick profit. This made the price go up a lot within short period of time. As soon as the merge took place, those who bought early, started to sell their ETH to take all the profits. Hence the price of ETH started to fall and a correction took place.
It's because of the trend.

Bitcoin is still the reason why it hasn't move that much even after the merge and from being pow to pos. And as the CPI report has came out, there's still another reason why it wouldn't go up.

Well, it's going to be a matter of time again until we see it move. This verifies that we're in a bear market and it could stay in there for quite a while.
It did move a lot after the merge. But in the opposite direction.

And because btc is still in the seemingly bearish position, eth can't continuously increase its price also.
Remember, even eth market is also following the trend of btc up until now.
So the eth's price won't skyrocket its price as most holders are expecting after the merge.
Maybe, once btc is out of the 20k level and starts going up, ETH should follow thru the trend.
But in my opinion, eth holders should not panic or worry, because eth is one of the valuable projects in this market.
They may not see the increase today, but definitely, it won't disappear and it is only keeping up with the btc market performance.
1529  Economy / Speculation / Re: What Will be the Bottom of Bitcoin till 2025? on: October 14, 2022, 09:24:06 PM
The price of bitcoin will be difficult to guess, difficult conditions have occurred in 2018, namely the price of dropping below $ 5000, previously in December 2017 the price skyrocketed more than $ 19K, and now we lost more than 70% compared to ATH that occurred last year.

Besides, the OP is asking for the year 2025. That's a long way to go.
Even the price of btc tomorrow or next month, no one can exactly predicts its price.
What more, 3 years from now. So I don't know what's the intention of the OP here.
No one can tell the bottom of btc few years from now. But if you believe that this market has future.
You can already start stashing your satoshis, but make sure, you are ready to lose those funds.
As no one knows what the future of btc is, you are like gambling in this market.
1530  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Biggest Mysteries Of Bitcoin on: October 13, 2022, 09:54:28 PM
This topic is understandably a newbie’s favorite discussion. Newbies may find the identity of Satoshi Nakamoto intriguing and may even attempt to draw a pattern to speculate the identity or nationality of Satoshi. For those of us who have been here long enough, we have seen this being discussed repeatedly and I have come to the conclusion that this will be a discussion that will never cease as long as Bitcoin exists.
it's true that stories like this never end, but does anyone here have any idea what should be done if Satoshi's identity were to come to light? i want to know what everyone will do after that, maybe we can run to him and get his autograph as a souvenir? is this beneficial or profitable for us?

he decided to remain anonymous he must have had a good reason so we should respect his decision. he left us a huge legacy of bitcoin, what we should do is grow it and stop digging into his identity or life
My honest opinion is that if we knew who satoshi was then we would not be able to see bitcoin rising as much as it did. There are so many government problems that wherever he lived, he would be found guilty of "something", if they weren't guilty of anything, they would definitely frame them for something with fake proof in order to jail them.

Because, this is something that drops the power of governments via economical freedom to people and they would want to say "look who created it, he is a monster!" and make sure that everyone saw it and then hope that bitcoins power would diminish and disappear at the light of satoshi being a bad person.

For now, let us be thankful that bitcoin was created in this era.
It may be a mystery up until now, because Satoshi decided not to disclose his identity after more than a decade of its existence.
I believe, it is better this way to avoid other troubles that he may encounter with people, authorities and basically from everyone.
As of today, this has created a lot of impact to many people across the globe. In some ways, it has even changed a lot of lives for the better.
1531  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I find way to win on dice on: October 13, 2022, 09:28:59 PM
For me having a martingale strategy only works to a person who has a lot of budgets because we know that we double our losses so there's a chance you get back your lose and make another but or else make another multiplier of losses but mostly in this experience when I'm playing every approximate of five games there's a chance that I earned my lose but again this is gambling there's a possible risk of half chance of winning still the capability of the player to have a lot of bets.
Casinos have known about the martingale strategy for a very long time, and as such they have a very easy counter for it, in almost any game there is going to be a maximum amount of money you can bet, that limitation is there precisely to stop whales players from abusing the martingale strategy and getting their money back, as at some point they are bound to hit the limit and be unable to keep doubling their bets any further, and at that point their losses will be basically guaranteed.

Casino owners know how to handle these strategies as they are not here to bankrupt themselves.
Of course, that's the reason why there is house edge as well as having max bets in place.
Gamblers will always try their own strategies to beat the house, but not very many are fortunate to achieve such feat.
Even if someone found a way to earn from this game, this is still a luck-based game where anyone can't apply it to their own games.
1532  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why ETH price keeps decreasing? on: October 13, 2022, 08:51:02 PM
According to May analysts, the price of bitcoin fell by 71.6% from the all-time high, and the price of ethereum fell by 73.4% from the all-time high. And the price reduction for other coins approached 90% or more. The price of Ethereum holds up very well relative to many other coins.
i agree with you. like the price of ethereum still depends on the price of bitcoin and compared to other coins only ethereum has the same decrease and when bitcoin will go up 100% ethereum will also go up 100%

and for the OP the other reason why ethereum is still not moving up and the price is getting lower is because the bear market is still going on. that's the most appropriate reason. we can see when the bull come ethereum will give a very good price

As ETH is also following the market trend of BTC, expect that it won't fly high anytime soon.
But as BTC starts to pump up again, more than likely, ETH will follow thru.
The good thing about ETH is this network is not just a crappy project but has a solid foundation that won't disappear when you wake up.
It may be down today, but the likelihood of recovering is very high, unlike those meme tokens or other pump and dump projects.
1533  Economy / Gambling / Re: Cashback VS Bonus on: October 13, 2022, 08:11:19 PM
I don't think it makes any difference in your situation. The goal is the same for both options (cashback or bonus): you can play longer.

Cashback pays off especially if you invest very large/larger sums and lose them (although I honestly can't imagine a casino doing that at all). With small sums, of course, this advantage disappears and even a cashback would be so little in your situation that you would most likely continue playing with it.

Cashback pays off especially if you follow promotions... in some casinos, there are days when "cashback" is higher, a lot higher, for playing some specific games.

I don't think we can compare "cashback" with "bonuses" in the first place... simply "cashback" is when you get some % of the amount you lost after your gambling session, and the bonus money is money you get when you deposit. Some casinos offer bonuses, but when you play with that "bonus money" there are rules, you are not eligible for other promotions for example. From my experience, there's always some catch with bonus money, there's no free money! While cashback is what you get when you are playing with your own money, % what you will get depend from site to site and your rank!

Don't expect too much from cashback because it is too small sometimes.
Bonus deposit usually is high, some casinos offer 100% deposit bonus in your first deposit.
However, check the conditions attached to it before you can totally avail the bonus.
Casinos won't just give those bonuses without any conditions to be met.
Cashback or bonus, just treat it as really a bonus because casinos won't go bankrupt because of these perks.
1534  Economy / Gambling / Re: Do you visit the casino while travelling? on: October 12, 2022, 09:30:34 PM
Casinos are great when you are in the area, but they shouldn't be your destination. You can find plenty of other activities to do that are more unique and interesting. You can attend a sporting match, have dinner at an ethnic restaurant or just stroll around the city to learn about the history. There's so much more to a city than a casino and every city has something different to offer. The reason for this is that most of those activities will cost you less money, and often times, are more interesting and meaningful.

i can agree with what you said, but it doesn't mean that visiting a casino means spending a lot of your money.
If you are a gambler, you will be curious on what's inside the physical casino of every country.
So it is like a tourist destination also to you, you can go inside and maybe try some of their games, just to experience.
It may not be your main target of destination but getting in while you are in the area would be a good memory of yours.
1535  Economy / Economics / Re: Social media, now looking more for business than for socializing. on: October 11, 2022, 09:38:14 PM
People in today's world prefer fast, quick and reliable source of information either that is about business or about circulating news and updates. Social media is now more about business ventures and promotions, many small, medium and large scale businesses are going on every now and than.  Each business have their trusted customers.
Social media is less about socializing now . Everything has its good and bad points same is the thing with social media, the miscommunication and misinterpretation of information is the dangerous and harmful side of social media that caused many problems in various countries.

What I like about this development is that a lot of people are earning their income via these social media channels.
During this pandemic, many people use these various social media platforms to sell something in order to survive.
They can easily ask for help also if they need it badly among their social circles.
If we will consider the good side of it, many are indeed benefiting the presence of social media apps.
However, it is still up to the person how he trusts those adverts seen on these platforms.
1536  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: October 11, 2022, 08:40:43 PM
Let's measure the success rate by a chance and we can see that on the betting odds once it's out.

Odds are already out I think just a few days or weeks after the official announcement of this fight.

Naoya Inoue @ 1.02
Paul Butler @ 12

Source: https://stake.com/sports/boxing/international/international-matchups/42925198-inoue-naoya-butler-paul

Although betting options are still limited for an obvious reason that the fight still has months to go.

That kind of odds will not gonna attract bettors to bet on Inoue ML, it looks like an easy 2% return but would you guys have the balls to risk your money for 2% return? The chances to win is high but the risk is high as well, you choose.

No need to bet on moneyline, we have the asian handicap and it will all be available by December, so have more patience and continue just don't forget to put your bet when that time comes. It's not an easy opponent of Butler, but he has plenty of time to prepare, so he should be ready in this fight and show to the fans that he is not what they are expecting.

ML is not worth as you have said, not sure about the Asian handicap, I haven't try it.

But in any case the fight is still December and that odds could jump as well. However, Butler is really a huge underdog and I don't know if there will be a change of odds or at least Butler is going to close that gap. And so it is up to the fans or Butler to bet on him to offset the odds. Or for sure Inoue's backers also might throw some money but in a different betting options.

Just wait for other betting lines because for sure, it will open maybe in the next month or December.
With Inoue's popularity, I am certain bookies will open more betting lines here.
But for Butler fans, I think they will be risking their money if they will bet huge.
Getting upset here seems far-fetched, but that is my opinion. Others may be looking something different for this fight.
1537  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How USDT (stablecoins) work? on: October 11, 2022, 04:45:38 PM
USDT is the most Shaddy Stablecoin in my view as this coin has the riskiest reserves unknown bonds and much more the transparency of the reserves makes a good stable coin in my view, USDC is one of the good Stable coins DAI is another type of option but USDD by TRX is same like UST so I can't say anything I am sure USDT can lead crypto to a major loss due to their wrong reserve policy.

When I read about this regarding USDT, I always remember the fact that way back in 2019,
USDT team admitted that they were not fully backed by then.
So at the moment, how sure we are that they are now staying true to the amount of their assets?
This is why even if USDT is one of the most common used stablecoin, you should not hold it long term,
because not only that they can freeze your account, but they are also vulnerable to possible losses.
But always check the contract address from the links provided above, some scammers can lure people to fake ones.
1538  Economy / Gambling / Re: How is the performance of gambling tokens compare to other altcoins and btc on: October 10, 2022, 08:02:43 PM
Take casino tokens as a utility tokens, that is to say, their best used for payment on the platform and use to play some games if there come with bonuses. The advantage of using casino tokens over others is the fact that if you bet are. made in some of the casinos using their tokens you may earn special rewards in bonuses.

Aside from that most casino tokens are not too good for investments, most especially for long-term investments.

And this is why casino tokens are valuable to gamblers but not to all crypto users.
But if you talk about regular crypto users who are not into gambling, I guess, they won't prefer to buy this type of token.
So if you compare casino tokens let's say with btc, more than likely, a crypto user will choose btc no doubt.
And with other alts, like top alts, most likely, they will choose top alts. It means, casino tokens have specific uses for gamblers.
But when it comes to the large population of crypto users, they won't choose casino token for investments.
As for performance, you've seen that even popular casinos having their own tokens (freebitco, betfury), just to name a few,
they are also having challenging times marketing their token and so the price is not all the while increasing.
1539  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will You Support Casino Operated By The Bitcointalk Members on: October 10, 2022, 07:12:45 PM
OP, you'll probably get easier data if you create a poll thread for the same question. But sadly, you didn't make it.

I tried to give an easy answer to your question. In my opinion, support or not really depends on the interpretation of each user because not all gamblers have the desire to try new casinos that have not been proven to be reputable. You shouldn't trust anyone online, that's an important point. One may be highly reputable for successful trades, smooth loans or for other positive feedback. My answer depends - but I don't want to gamble right now.

That's a good idea. A poll can give him insight regarding the pulse of the gambling community in the forum.
Anyway, he can still add it if he will read your suggestion and see what the position of the users here.
But if the casino is handled by known and reputable members, why not?
Because the advantage here, is that you can easily reach them if you need help from their side.
As they don't want to ruin their reputation, they will for sure resolve the issues as soon as possible.
They have seen and heard already what the players would want from a casino, so they should be the one implementing it also.
1540  Economy / Economics / Re: The whole tipping culture in western countries is unfair and totally wrong! on: October 10, 2022, 06:19:40 PM
so.  lets try something else.

Pizza delivery driver.   95% of these people use there own car own gas own insurance 100% there own risk.

Most dont even get a salary.  Accident rate among pizza drivers is high due to the nature of the job.

They get to pay for their own gas, oil change which is about once a month due to the very high mileage  brakes tires ball joints tie rods most of that is once a year, brakes twice.  If they live in snowy regions then add Winter tires to that added costs.

Pizza car maintenance is high.   Many don't bother and buy utter crap and drive it in to the ground.   Can be cheaper to replace crap car with another crap car then to fix them.  So they also get to spend time replacing the car.

Tip your fucking driver!  Be happy hes even working!   He might even be an asshole but he gets to deal with shitheads all day long on the road and at the door.  saying to him... but you got your delivery fee right?

Are you saying pizza delivery workers use their own personal vehicle and fuel it to do delivery for the company? I find it hard to believe. What happens if you don't have a personal vehicle? Does that mean you will not be able to work as a delivery service since the company won't provide it.
Why would anyone take up such job just for tips that may not account for what you spend doing the job. That's absurd.

I don't think that's the case here. But pizza delivery guys are using their company vehicles in most cases.
But it may be different on his area. Maybe, he is talking about 3rd party riders as they do really use their own vehicles.
Owed to pandemic, third party riders are now very common as you can access them in different delivery apps.
But when it comes to tipping, it is still up to you if you will give them or not. If you're not in the mood, or has no extra money, then don't.
Tipping should be a voluntary one and should be happy doing it. But if it is against your will, better not give it.
