1401  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Two arrested in massive $575m cryptocurrency 'Ponzi scheme' on: November 22, 2022, 07:40:28 PM

And probably this news has affected the market as well, as we have said the price going to like $15,750 again.

I do not think that this has anything to do with the current price movement of Bitcoin, which has been suffering from fluctuations since the FTX scandal. The money that the two arrested people stole was not put on the market, and most likely it will be returned to its owners, as long as there is concern from the FBI, which called on the victims to declare the fraud they were subjected to. The projects they worked on have been on the market since 2017, and it is strange that they were not discovered until after more than 5 years .

I also believe that it has nothing to do with the current market performance.
It is more on this FTX fallout. Anyway, a lot of us here know by now that cloud mining is really a bad investment.
But I did invest on known cloud mining sites before but unfortunately, didn't get the profits, and lost also.
Good for the community that we lessen this kind of fraudulent people, capitalizing from the trust of users.
Hopefully, some of this amount will be recovered and returned to those people who were owed by their scheme.
1402  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is The Gambling Industry Part Of The Domino Effect That Happens In The Market on: November 21, 2022, 08:54:49 PM
Casinos are still earning unlike the spot traders since the bear market. None of the casinos so far come out saying they have invested to FTX.

The casinos that cheated or have scammed still exist even when its reputation is also tainted, 1xbit still managing campaigns in bitcointalk. No signs of them part of the falling domino.

That is true, there has been no rumor that a certain casino is part of the FTX failure or lost their funds from this exchange.
If there's any, they may be handling it very well or not very significant in amount that can cause their bankruptcy.
Right now, let us be grateful that even with bear market, this gambling business seems to be earning good.
For now, it is advisable to play on top and reputable casinos, so in case of big winnings, they can always provide it to the user.
Especially these days, because everyone has their own contests during this World Cup, and some are offering high rewards and everybody wants to get a share of it.
1403  Economy / Economics / Re: Household debt soars at fastest pace in 15 years as credit card use surges, Fed on: November 21, 2022, 07:50:49 PM
I don't want to jump right into the conclusion that the rise in mortgages and credit card and other debts is caused by people buying stuff they don't need. It's possible they really need a house or a car or some stuff but since they cannot pay it with cash, they are forced to pay it with credit. I mean, you know how hard the times are right now.

As for me, I prefer not to borrow or take a loan or buy some stuff with a credit card. Hell, I don't even have one. My strategy? Only buy stuff I need and can afford.

When the pandemic hit us, I believe most people learn a thing or two owed to this crisis.
So right now, a lot are into debt and using their credit card because they have no spare cash to pay.
And yes, the only option for them is to use their credit card and so the usage of credit card surges.
But I do believe that these people need it not just because they want it.
Same here, when I cut my use of credit card long time ago, I haven't applied for another one.
Your life will be more at peace if you are just living what you have and not going into debt because you are spending via your credit card.
The interest and the stress brought about by this is not worth it. So for me, live within your means and not aim for luxury if you can't afford.
1404  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will Sam Bankman-Fried go to jail? on: November 21, 2022, 05:43:46 PM
There's only one solution to restore people's confidence. Put the bad guy in jail for a long, long time.
I'm not sure that's the best solution, but maybe it's one that is expected.
I don't think the FTX issue is going to make people's trust in bitcoin down, but the impact is definitely being felt as FUD over FTX has sent most people into a panic. Even if someone is jailed due to FTX case then fraud will never stop in this industry and users are obliged to have good solution. Every asset owner should store their assets in wallet, not an exchange nor should they trust centralized exchange 100% for their long term storage.

Punishment is simply a consequence for those found guilty, but I don't believe it will do much for the people who are losing to the current FTX. Lots of people have lost money and I'm not sure they will be compensated.

If in case they will be compensated especially those top 50 creditors, it will be long time as lawsuit and hearings would take a great deal of time.
However, this current crypto-exchange failure shows that it can really influence the movement in the market.
This may not be long, but right now, we are seeing its immediate effect on bitcoin's price.
For believers, this is a very nice opportunity to collect more satoshis. It is now how crypto users are reacting on this recent fallout.
But I don't think SBF will go to jail very soon, because this will be a long duration of discussion and hearings, possibly, the authorities may ask him to pay those stakeholders affected.
1405  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🌿✨ weeddaddy.io - New Crash Game - Welcome Bonus | Free Faucet ✨🌿 on: November 21, 2022, 04:57:11 PM
Hey, do you accept Bitcoin? I just have created an account and got no option to deposit bitcoin. You only have ETH, USDC and USDT on ERC20 which of course isn't great start. Generally, I use Bitcoin but on any case, I try to avoid Ethereum chain.
Beside, if you don't accept bitcoin your topic will be removed to altcoin section.
Looks like weeddaddy.io has given priority to ETH network only. They are supporting deposits in ETH, USDC and USDT. Where USDC & USDT deposits are available on ERC20 network only. OP had created another thread of weeddaddy.io a few months ago (see here), it was related to NFT. Anyway, they have mentioned about Bitcoin in their terms. Let's wait and see what OP says about Bitcoin deposit and withdrawal system implementation on their casino. This thread will be moved to altcoins section if they don't have any plan to add Bitcoin deposit or withdrawal method directly.
BTW, the design of Weeddaddy.io crash game is unique.

I believe they will add BTC and DOGE in their payment method as they put on their landing page at the bottom about BTC and DOGE acceptance.
Anyway, would be great if the OP can directly answer this query.
Also, I agree that their crash game is somewhat unique as compared to other crash games that we have seen in the casinos here.
At least, they are thinking of a different game design for players to enjoy the game.
However, are they sticking to crash game only, or would add other games in the future?
1406  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: November 20, 2022, 09:57:25 PM
Ecuador deserved the goals because they played well.
I don't know if the Qatar players were nervous because when the game started the goalkeeper especially for their team quickly showed his weakness that he was not so good with football in the air and would punch out than try to catch. Equador exploited this and it was what gave them the second goal. although Qatar played better in the second half but they were still unable to get any goal as consolation.

It is a good way for Ecuador and  Enner Valencia to kick-start their world cup campaign with three points and two goals respectively.

Qatar showed to the world that even if they have so much money to spare on this sports, still they couldn't get on top of things.
They haven't played well on this opening game. They need to accept the fact that this is not their niche when it comes to sports.
But at least, they tried. Anyway, they will see the recordings how they did perform on this opening game and maybe improve the remaining matches for them.
Ecuador on the other hand, seemed did their job to advance their position and has very good motivation to get that coveted trophy.
1407  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is the host draw in the ceremony match? on: November 20, 2022, 09:40:08 PM
the Qatar team played very badly at their own home, even Qatar only controlled 37% "ball possession", Ecuador will definitely win

Qatar without a doubt must be the worst team in this world cup, it was looking like the Qatari players had never played before or had never seen a ball before, I honestly cannot understand how a rich country like Qatar that had many years to if they were organized they couldn't hire a good coach and prepare their team better, with so much money they have they could have got a good coach who would have prepared their team years before the cup started and they wouldn't have to face the shame they went through today, it looks like these Guys from Qatar only care about the beauty of their city and tourism and the profits they're going to make with this world cup and they don't care about their team

I know Qatar will not win their opening match but I thought it can be possible for a draw but the game showed that Qatar might not even win any of their group stage matches and that might also go down in history too.

Qatar is not really good at football which they know this but they just want to get attention at this year that was why they did everything to make sure the world cup was hosted in their country. I just didn't bet on Qatar because I know it will be a lost the game was interesting to me because Ecuador won as predicted and made my day .

I also expected that Qatar would at least play well, but all I saw was a team so bad that it even irritated me a lot watching this game, and it was unacceptable to see how those from Qatar who had years to prepare and have a lot of money come to show this team disaster, they are worse than my country's team, definitely qatar will not win any other game left, netherlands and senegal are much better team than ecuador and i doubt qatar will be able to beat netherlands and senegal

With all the rumors surrounding about this match, Ecuador vs Qatar, Qatar bribing some players of Ecuador.
Still, they haven't performed well in the stadium. It means they really couldn't excel on this sports no matter what.
Getting great on this sports, would take a lot of years of practice and yes, good coach who knows what he's doing.
A lot are expecting something from Qatar team as they are the host country, but turned out, they are not ready for this sports.
1408  Economy / Economics / Re: Climate Regulations Are About to Disrupt Global Shipping on: November 20, 2022, 08:44:43 PM
Yes, a global transition to renewable energy is a moral imperative, and it is high time we start meeting the standards necessary to avoid crippling climate change. Emission caps can be increased substantially and still avert disaster but to achieve this, governments have a role to play and must take bold action. The time has come to consider more daring options.

The government should start the initiatives to alter their plans when it comes to using nonrenewable and renewable energies.
Global shipping is just one of the industries that do need to change some of their ways to address this climate change.
On this subject, we will expect that some goods will rise their prices. As that's one of the aftermath of the changes in the shipping industry.
Those rich people will always get their ways on using their private jets, so hard to call for them to change their lifestyle.
We need to accept the fact that climate change is real and it would devastate the human population if we don't act now.
1409  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I won $128,000 and it's been a week waiting for game provider verification on: November 20, 2022, 07:56:50 PM
<...>but after I pressed they essentially admitted that I won more than they bring in.
That's a scam, then. A proper casino should manage its bankroll in a decent way and never allow you to win something they can't pay out. If they do, by action or omission they are a scam. It's a pity that we can't do anything about them from here, as they are not known on the forum.
I don't think it's a scam if they have attempted to process some of the op's winning and maybe that's the only thing they can pay for now while they are still looking for more funds and settled them later on. The perfect term to call them rather, is unprofessional.

I agree it isn't a scam since the casino paid some of the money and I believe they promise to pay the rest when they have enough money.  This case isn't new, as far as I remember there is also similar case where the complainant won a huge amount of money and the casino can't give him the winnings in one go.  So the casino tried to pay him weekly until all his winnings is given.

It's not only about managing a bankroll but a proper/professional casino knows what are the things that is possible like what if some players win huge? They will think of ways on how to handle it, either by injecting more funds or by putting a bet limit on their games. Many casino have this function already. This casino here is not known in the forum before but now that this issue arise. Many are now aware of them.

I believe that casino doesn't think that someone will win a huge amount of money.  I think they are relying that players will lose and they can accumulate huge amount from those losses and eventually their bankroll will have the ability to pay high rollers if incase they hit huge wins.  but it looks like the huge wins comes early than the anticipated funds from player losses.

I can agree that there was a similar situation here, a gambling site which has thread on this forum.
I have read that they arranged a weekly or monthly payment to the user as they can't afford to pay it in one shot.
If the casino offered such payment arrangements, then, accept it. As long as they will pay you in the scheduled time rather than not receiving at all.
You can understand such situation will arise if the casino is not so big, and they can't pay up big winnings.
The casino should have put a bet limit if they can't accommodate such big winnings. I believe this will be their lesson on this situation.
The OP's casino I believe, doesn't have their own thread in the forum, so hard to reach out to them via this forum, better keep up with their site's support.
1410  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Running a casino during crypto crash on: November 20, 2022, 07:25:09 PM
~
But now I'm curious, how many casinos out there can actually provide the funds in the unlikely event that all of their users decide to withdraw? Or how many casinos out there that are also secretly using their players' money for investment or marketing or something else?

I do not know if a serious casino would choose to do this, as it presents too much of a risk.

While it may sound like the best of both worlds, in practice this could be a disaster for any casino that decides to take this path. Casinos have their core business, which is making money from gambling. Using player funds for investments in other ventures is not something they would normally do. However, if they did so, they would need to make sure the investment was safe and profitable. If the casino loses money on its investments, then it will not be able to pay players back their deposits. Therefore, I do not think that this is a very likely scenario, as it could result in the casino going bankrupt.

Players won't know also this aspect of casino, whether the casino is using the deposits to something else.
Usually, the community knows there is a problem when they start experiencing withdrawal problems.
A big casino may have other ventures but I am certain, they can very well afford to pay up the winnings of their players.
This is why it is advisable to play on known reputable casinos or bookies, so you won't encounter any withdrawal issues.
1411  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Rainbow Indicator drop on all time low on: November 19, 2022, 09:56:40 PM
Well, there is always a first time for everything. For example, they said Bitcoin had never gone below the previous year's all-time high until it did smash past 20K in May this year during the LUNA crash. Personally, I have never trusted the Rainbow indicator. I mean, someone can draw it from many different angles and curvatures to fit the narrative of the Bitcoin price trend over time.

That is very correct, anyone can make a different rainbow indicator and so the angles or curvatures may vary from one person to another.
As this market is still unpredictable despite of over a decade of existence, we can't tell what will happen next.
This rainbow indicator for me is also very subjective, we can't treat it as the ultimate indicator per se in deducing some conclusions.
Consider other indicators as well in forming some conclusions. Anyway, these conclusions are just merely conclusions, it may or may not happen in the real scenario.
1412  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you still win with free spins? on: November 19, 2022, 09:39:48 PM
In some of the casinos that run free spin will not allow you to withdraw bit you will use it to spin again until you finished you reward in the bets while some will all you to deposit first before you can withdraw the reward free the free spin.
But it is possible for one to make money (HAVE ENOUGH REWARDS) from free spins just that you have to be careful because if you wins big from free spin I don't think the company will release the amount for you. They would use some to hold your wins down until you make a huge amount of deposit before they can decide what to do.
^This must be found on the terms and it should be there, there must be a maximum wagered and the minimum amount to withdraw your winning on the free spin. There is nothing wrong if you will reach out to the gambling casino staff and ask them about this because each casino has different rules and guidelines when it comes to free spin. Trusted gambling casinos will usually allow users to withdraw their winnings on the free spin. But in OP's question, can we still win with free spin, that is depend on our luck, if you are very lucky enough and win a huge amount, that is good for you.

OP's question doesn't really have concrete answer as playing free spins depends on your luck.
But of course, the possibility of winning is always there, you just don't know when.
Several gambling sites found in this forum are offering free spins like freebitco, betfury, which I can say that they will give those winnings if you did win.
But for other casinos which are not found here, you may doubt if they will pay especially if you got handsome amount of winnings.
Also, remember, check the conditions that you need to meet before withdrawal, if in case you win from playing these free spins.
1413  Economy / Gambling / Re: DraftApes - Crypto Fantasy Sports on: November 19, 2022, 09:13:37 PM
We are excited to announce our new Crypto Daily Fantasy Sports Platform - www.draftapes.com
This does not look like a usual casino/sportsbook. I have no idea how it works LOL
But the site looks really nice.

Or maybe you can hire a professional designer for your ANN thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1610428.0
I will also suggest [Overview] Bitcointalk Services from Bitcointalk Members, it includes campaign managers too.

@draftapes, as suggested above, you really need a professional design for the main topic. But with the new account you can not post any image unless you buy a copper membership. A small investment will make huge difference.

You also need to consider promoting the project to this community. Bitcointalk is the largest and oldest crypto community founded by satoshi himself. If you want then I can help you to create an effective promotion and manage it for your brand to create a positive brand value around. Feel free to check my portfolio from my profile page.

By the way, welcome to the forum.

This is truly not a regular gambling site that we can see in this forum.
Reading how it is being played, I am curious if there will be players that will indeed be interested on this long-term.
For free entrance, they are offering BAN prize, I believe new players will join on this one.
Checking their contests, some are already playing this game. However, they may not have players from the forum yet.
If they are not ready to hold sig campaign, offering reward for valid and valuable feedback is a great start, which they are holding now.
1414  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How are Online casino's and sports betting platforms coping? on: November 18, 2022, 09:52:45 PM
More traditional Casinos too shifted their services online.

I don't think that most traditional casinos shifted their service online during the pandemic.

Instead of doing that, they just accept the fact that can't operate until further notice, and to reduce the cost of the operation, they lay off some of their employees.

If I missed something here, can you give examples of those traditional casinos that shifted their service online just to cope with the financial situation?

Well I understand that the only thing that could have changed is to have more Peronsla because the demand was incredible, in the casinos I know that they increased their way of having more clients, in fact thanks to the pandemic the casinos became even more profitable, because my people were looking for win money in any way, and a very reckless way to do it is to go to casinos and people are so desperate that it worked for some and not for others, I think that what the pandemic did was help much more Since the casinos they came back stronger and much more consistent, I never saw bad changes, just the opposite.

Online casinos got their boost in business during the pandemic days.
Just think of new sportsbooks that have been introduced during this period.
We can say, online gambling got their popularity and more players when pandemic hit the world.
That is true, instead of going bankrupt, most of these gambling sites got their good revenue because of increasing popularity of online casinos.
With a lot of advantages offered to gamblers, online gambling is like the new norm to play and place your bets at the comfort of your home.
1415  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Qatar bribed 8 players from Ecuador for the opening match on: November 18, 2022, 09:04:05 PM
I would not be surprised at all if this indeed happened, but unfortunately this is one of those things in which we will have to watch the game and see the performance of Ecuador to determine if there is something fishy going on during the match, however if it is confirmed this happened it will be yet another stain on this world cup, which has been incredibly polemic from the very day that Qatar was selected as the host

If you are very familiar with the Ecuador team, you can easily spot if they are playing it for real or not.
But this kind of bribe may not come as a surprise, especially if they have money to spend and they want fame on top of that.
Qatar may have the goal to win no matter what, but such goal is not fair if they will resort to this kind of cheating and corruption.
I don't think they can celebrate it fully if they know what transpired just to get such coveted multi-million dollar trophy.
1416  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Message for signal providers thats why crypto need regulations on: November 17, 2022, 09:58:35 PM
Regulate trading signals? By whom? Will these groups even allow themselves to be in the public?

Does regulating them will change the fact that those signal providers are crap?

Instead, people should just ignore those signal groups. These groups are mostly not consistent and they are just doing that service to milk some money.

This won't happen as this is not possible in real scenario. These groups can disappear without a warning.
Most of them are doing such activity to enrich themselves and screw gullible users.
So regulating them is not an option. It now lies on the users how they will use these trading signal groups to their advantage.
But in my opinion, better do your own trading rather than rely on these groups. I haven't seen any decent group that will truly help the traders.
1417  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A lottery's defense to not paying a huge winning. on: November 17, 2022, 09:37:00 PM
The question is ?
What do you really think of the lottery company and is there any chance for them to winning the case and not paying the winner?

What may be the irregularities the company is blaming the winner for. They seem just interested in denying the winner his prize, in my opinion. It seems strange to now accuse the winner of irregularities after they have been charged to court, after previously alleging that the system had deleted their winning data. Inquisitive investigation should be done by the court, and those who deserve it should receive justice.
If the company is really not interested to pay the winner, then for sure they will create a lot of lies that will go against the winner, and that demands for a deep investigation. It’s so hard to believe that the system had deleted their winning data, that’s unlikely to happen except they will do it for a cause. Whatever it is, let the court decide for it and hopefully justice will be served to the victim.
My point exactly! Let's just let the court decide. Claims like this might either be concocted by the lottery so as to avoid redeeming the winners  prize or there might actually be irregularities as accused of the person who won.  If upon checking the records of the lottery , to find that they have been faithful in redeeming prizes of huge winnings to other players then, their claim might just be on point.

If the amount is significant as posted, and the user has all the proofs, then pursue the lawsuit.
The court will weigh the evidences on both sides and for sure they will come to a fair decision.
Deleting the winning data is not sufficient not to pay a winner, because there are other means which have recorded such winning numbers.
Such as publishing it on other social media channels and other reading materials.
The system may have erased it but it was recorded in other means. If not, this lottery is not operating legally.
1418  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have Lucky Casino? on: November 17, 2022, 09:05:09 PM

Do you have this kind of casino?
I do not have such a casino yet, but honestly, I think the state of ones mind has close to nothing to do with the outcome of a luck based game when playing, except one is playing a skill based game, then I totally agree with you that the state of the mind of the player indeed plays an important role in determining whether the player wins or not, this is evident even in sports matches.

But in pure luck based games like Dice, Keno and the rest, i personally think a gambler's state of mind while gambling has nothing to do with winning or losing.

I can very well agree with you here, in luck-based games, it is totally based on your luck even if you are utilizing some known strategies.
But when it comes to sports betting, this is a different as the outcome is highly dependent on how familiar you are with the sports.
The more you know about a certain sports, its athletes or the teams involve, the better chance of selecting good odds.
So your winning chance for me also doesn't depend on the casino but what games are you playing with, casino classics or sports betting?
1419  Economy / Speculation / Re: What are the chances of FTX raising funds... on: November 17, 2022, 08:41:22 PM
Chances are slim in my opinion and for me, doesn't make sense for people to bail out SBF, he has caused so much damage for us. The best thing we can do is for him to go in jail and justice should be served for those who lost their money here.

And even in our community here, I will speculate that the consensus will be the majority, let SBF suffer and let this be a lesson for all investors, small or big to really be careful specially altcoin market as the risk is huge.
Such kind of his act is bringing bad name to the cryptocurrency. This should be properly handle to avoid another gambler trading for profit with the customer money. The trust is not there for him again. In cryptocurrency if you betray the people, the community don't give you another chance. Going for bailout or source for money to pay back is not a possible thing, binance deal didn't succeed because of no trust on the huge debt payment.
For those who are not new here, one mistake is already enough for them and they will move on already no matter what conditions they are giving to them by the company who failed them but for those who are new in here and has a lack of experience, maybe they will take the risk because they are still hoping that they can recover what they have lost in FTX.

Remember the luna event last time? They also beg the public to gave them another chance and they create another luna coin but that seem to not go well. Binance won't be successful if they are not wise and smart, and that is why they didn't accept the deal. People should learn from them.

We can't tell yet the future of FTX but I do agree that most users here won't trust the exchange for the second time around.
But SBF may have different charisma than Luna's Do Kwon. So SBF has the potential to raise this money.
For those who lost a lot owed to FTX failure, I don't think they will bail out SBF this time.
He needs a very convincing offer to the public to raise good amount of money. But of course, he can always try .
I think if he will show sincere offer to the extent of using his own funds and not care about his possible loss, he may raise sufficient amount to recover his platform.
1420  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are alternative no kyc exchanges since FTX is gone... on: November 15, 2022, 09:49:59 PM
~snip~If a place doesn't ask for your KYC that means they don't really care about the laws, and they just operate in a pirate way, which means if they are "hacked" like all the many that happened so far, there is absolutely nothing you can do, and all of that money is gone. Which is why it’s too dangerous.

it's such a tough choice to make. When we do KYC, our personal identity will be known and we are afraid that it will be misused, but when a hack occurs, the possibility to get assets back may go well because everything is recorded and has been protected by an official legal entity. but when there is no KYC and there is no legal entity that regulates it, when hacked or exchanges steal our assets, then there is nothing we can do, because they are indeed illegal and no legal entity can catch them. Of course, this will be a difficult thing to choose, depending on which is more important.

Some are still using non-kyc exchanges because they don't want to submit their personal details, especially those small-time traders.
There are still few exchanges that I know that don't require KYC for daily withdrawals of 1 btc and below like kucoin or nominex.
I have accounts in both exchanges, and used them several times. However, it is up to the user how he will trust these exchanges.
If you are using nonkyc exchanges, better get out fast your funds after your traded your coin. Don't leave or store in any exchange.
