1501  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mnemonic is no longer safe? on: October 21, 2022, 09:59:03 PM
I think Mnemonic are safe because many wallet like metamask, Trustwallet we create a new wallet so we use mnemonic through we create so mnemonic are safe way but some time we save mnemonic in that file are email etc which are hack easily then hackers easily open over wallet so secure your system other than mnemonic phrase are safe.
It’s safe not until you expose those data into hackers or your pc might got the virus which collects personal data. I’ve been dealing with this wallet for years already and so far, I have no problem with some of my token. I support the other claims here that OP your friend might already exposed to hackers and probably downloaded a file from unknown source or it can also be an inside job. I have my crypto friends as well but I’m not letting them to touch my PC without my permission, this is to be more safe.

As hacking softwares or tools are getting sophisticated, your computer will not be safe from hacking or phishing anymore.
These days, we are mostly online and we don't know if we visited the site as potential source of malware or virus.
As much as possible, separate the computer that you are having your funds with, and if possible, not connect it the net all the time.
You can't trace where they will look for vulnerabilities. So what you can do is you need to take care of your own online credentials.
As well as limit your exposure to potential attacks. These hackers don't care who they are dealing with, so long they are exhausting funds.
1502  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Nigerian Man Won $51,000 in Sports Betting With a Bet of Just $1.072 on: October 21, 2022, 09:22:01 PM
Lucky guy. In the country of Nigeria one could definitely live a comfortable-enough life with $51k USD. Although technically he won 50k not 51k because he put 1k into the bet, so he just got his 1k back. Still. 50k = Very nice. Kiss

It should be kept in mind that this win is an exceptional and very very rare win. He had greats odds against him and wins like these do not happen often, so nobody should let themselves feel encouraged to run to the next gambling casino in order to put down a 1k bet. Chances are, that 1k will be gone forever or you might win a few more k.

If I were to win 50k in Nigeria the last thing I would want to do is let other people know. The crowd followed him to the mosque as well? Lol. One could say he tried to escape the crowd.

Not 1k bet but just over $1 bet. So his winnings is still almost $51k.
Who would have thought that $1-level bet would give him such fortune? So yes, he is lucky.
Maybe, he was just too excited he couldn't contain his happiness, hence, letting his neighbors know what luck he got.
But if it is my case, I will be mum about it and just let my immediate family know about my fortune so I can share it to them.
Hard to trust these days if someone knew you have some funds. You can't tell what everyone is thinking about your fortune.
1503  Economy / Gambling / Re: Unpopular opinion about crypto gambling on: October 21, 2022, 08:49:09 PM
I won't try to change your mind Xd but i will try explain why. the casino won't get an agreement from any company if they don't do they can have problems, because of money laundering especially with large amounts. If there's no KYC everyone will be able to deposit and withdraw no matter what his source of money came from. That's my opinion. Even i kniw it's bithering especially when you can deposit when as much as you can and then get asked to upload your documents in order to withdraw.
But can still also for a normal perosn to be a good thing if it offer more security and advantages passing kyc procedures

If they have gaming license, they have no choice but to implement the AML/KYC protocols.
This is why if there is some suspicious amounts getting in, some of them may ask for proof of funds.
I believe, we can't avoid this to happen these days as crypto casinos are getting regulated by the government already.
For most non-licensed, they may not require KYC but for new ones, it is still hard to trust them especially if you have significant amount of money.
Now, it is on your own disposition whether you will play on licensed or non-licensed casinos. It is your own risk you are taking here.
1504  Economy / Economics / Re: government hampers the country's economy on: October 21, 2022, 08:07:21 PM
Well this is a broad statement and to an extent does not make it accurate. I am well aware the the government a major role players in a nations economy and Governmental policies are guidelines which can improve or depress The progress of a nation.
But we have developed countries, and developing countries (more realistically and no sugarcoating it called under developed countries)

It's not correct to think under developed countries their is absence of poor policies and corruption but it's not as severe in developing countries that suffers from corrupt government that lack reasonable policies, and are largely unpatriotic. That why economical growth is more depressed in such countries even if they have sufficient human and natural resources.

Every government has their own flaws and they are not by no means perfect.
Even developed or advanced countries have their own struggles.
As an individual we can't do much about our government, but we can do something for our own selves.
We should not let ourself be dependent from government aids to progress our living.
Help ourself to uplift the status of our living, and as much as possible, don't blame the government.
They can only do so much to their people but the hard work to keep afloat in this life will still come from our own initiatives.
1505  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Realizing the value of holding cash on: October 20, 2022, 09:48:05 PM
~
There are so many people during bull runs that run out of cash because they like to buy all they could buy to ride the wave, which results with them losing a lot of money when the crash finally starts, it could go up a lot, and I mean A LOT, but eventually it will go down, so having a little bit of your profit cashed out could benefit you.
These things happens especially to new investors who are coming into the space after seeing the rally who have no idea about the market but thinking they can ride the market and make a good buck, they do not do their research but start investing in whatever they can thinking it will benefit them but end up burning everything in the end and starts regretting for burning all the hard earned money, only if they make the decision to study the market before investing it would be the difference.

This is the usual problem in this market, many newcomers thought that they are going into gold digging project.
However, once they got in, they usually don't know what to do and how to earn profits.
This is why, most are tempted to buy pump and dump coins, hyped up tokens or other seemingly popular projects but with superficial promise of high returns.
People need to learn their lessons before they realized what they are getting into, as it is hard to advise newbies in this market.
1506  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you get over a bad loss? on: October 20, 2022, 09:04:06 PM
The most important thing is to stop playing and not drawn in my emotions, i also don’t bet with much money that i can’t afford. And my favorite thing to do when i get all those bad feelings of bad luck or trying to revenge and bet higher which i know I’m only risking more money is that go straight to food, i prepare a sandwich or a nice juice. After all it’s only me who played risky and only my fault. Some starts blaming the casino which is nonsense

In my case, not food, but usually, I just watch movies to forget what I had lost.
I don't check my game histories as going over it would only give you headache.
Better stop for a while and do things that you believe are worth your time.
As you said, if you will play using money that you can afford to lose,
it may not be that hard to let go as compared to playing using money dedicated for your bills.
1507  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: MineOnlium: A Fair Start POW on: October 20, 2022, 08:28:49 PM
If anyone has any questions about MineOnlium. I will be happy to answer them. Thank you for your time guys, and much appreciation to the people that have joined our discord since this post went live. We appreciate you all.

Do they have official website for this project? Because a serious platform will create one.
Not all people would want to join discord or any other social media channel.
Most of the time, they want to check the background of the project by checking the official site.
This may not be a fake project, but what is the chance that this won't survive long just like thousands of alts that are long forgotten already?
What do you think would be the use case of this coin that will give life to its trading market?
1508  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Throwback: Bitcoin was $64k today, a year ago. on: October 20, 2022, 07:54:31 PM
I didn't realize it's been a year already, to be honest. It's also almost a year since the ATH, it seems. Well, there are always some setbacks, and there have been pretty bad years for the price of Bitcoin, much worse than the current one. I don't regret anything, and I am sure that Bitcoin recovery is just a matter of time. Hopefully, those who had something significant at $60k+ and didn't sell aren't too sad either if they're still hodling. After all, perhaps the price will be $100k in a couple of years. Maybe it won't, and I'm not saying it's a good strategy to never sell, but regretting not selling is IMO also unnecessary.
Yes indeed time goes so fast that we often do not realize that the time has passed so long. That means we will also feel the same way when bitcoin reaches its ATH again. Perhaps we would say, "it doesn't feel like the time has gone by when bitcoin has had such a deep decline". This should motivate us that time is slow because today the market is not doing what we want. I believe if we are patient with eating we will not feel long in waiting for the bull market to come.

The hope is always here as long as more and more people are going into this market.
Get nervous if no one is talking about btc market anymore. But with how things are happening these days,
it seems more and more countries are recognizing the potential of btc, making it as legal tender by small countries.
Also, the adoption is further increasing because more merchants are integrating the crypto payment in their system.
Just look at how many crypto casinos we have today. If there are no people patronizing it, they won't survive.
So this year, we may have not seen an ATH, but the hope of recovering this market is high because of these circumstances.
1509  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why speculate when you can be at peace with Bitcoin on: October 19, 2022, 09:53:31 PM
Well not all the time you will be in a safe place even you rely only in bitcoin, because market is not stable and so volatile sometimes . So if you just buy bitcoin in any price without any speculation for sure it's the same story and at the end you will experience losses as well.  We need to be smart enough! If you don't apply such way to determine the real price to buy then i suggest better to stop to prevent risky situation.
I think the OP knows this already but he pushes his insights because he is also aware that btc can recover no matter how low it goes. He didn't say that people can buy at any price. That's not the right way of investing but it's always ideal to start investing when the price are at their atl's or bottom so that you can greatly lessen the risk.

It will be hard for the price to drop more after that but it will mostly do a recovery and along with it is that we are going to earn a profit. There is no need to speculate if how much price btc can achieve because we cant still predict it accurately but we can just say that it will move upwards or downwards. That's a lot easier.

Not that we can predict it accurately, but the upward and downward will always be there.
The price level changes from time to time but the hope of further increasing its value is very possible to happen.
This is why, some people feel at peace with btc because if you are eyeing long-term, you don't need to worry about the small movements.
You have the goal of patiently waiting up until you hit your target price level where you can get your profits.
1510  Economy / Economics / Re: Corruption Should Be Taught From Young Age on: October 19, 2022, 06:17:39 PM
Make people able to recognise corrupt practices because some corrupt practice has been made normal that some people having trouble understanding such are corrupt practices.
Also introduce a heavy punishment for anyone who is found guilty of any corruption regardless of position or status. Many politicians and affluent people consider themselves untouchable so they mostly get away with whatever corruption they engage in.
Teaching it in school alone won't change anything when there is to strict ways to handle the situation. It will be business as usual for them.

If the penalty is heavy enough, people will be more careful with their actions.
However, even if the government has certain penalties, most of the time, they are lenient about its implementation.
Hence, people have the notion to just do their stuffs, as you said, business as usual for them.
So to address this long-running problem, in my opinion, it is the combination of self-discipline and tough implementation of the laws.
A good example is in Japan, if the person himself feels he did something wrong, he will punish his own to the point of killing himself.
I don't think many nationalities have the same outlook when it comes to wrongdoings and how they punish themselves.
1511  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Binance Provides $500M Loan for Bitcoin Miners on: October 18, 2022, 09:46:51 PM
Binance is no saint. They are definitely doing this for the money.

I do not trust centralized entities like crypto exchanges. Their existence is completely redundant and they go against the very principles of decentralization. crypto exchanges are the enemies of decentralization. Storing Bitcoin on an exchange wallet is not safe. The end product resembles a government regulated lock-up of our money. It's dangerous because it means your coins are no longer in your control. If you live in a country with an oppressive government; they will simply confiscate your coins for whichever reason they like. And crypto exchanges in those countries will not hesitate to give them access to your coins while freezing you out of your account.

But you can't deny the fact that there are many crypto users who are benefitting the services of centralized exchanges.
Not many are only using decentralized apps because at one point, you also need the centralized exchange.
However, storing your coins is another story. It depends on you if you will store your coins on their exchange or store it in your own wallet.
This initiative may benefit binance but just think of miners who really want to get a hold of these funds.
It will be a win-win situation for both sides. Just keep in mind that we need bitcoin miners for the bitcoin network to survive.
1512  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Manny Pacquiao vs. DK Yoo on: October 18, 2022, 09:10:04 PM
I think it has been discuss here a bit, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5370631.0

But yes, nevertheless it deserved a separate thread since this is the legendary Manny Pacquiao first exhibition match against a Youtuber.

And of course, everyone is interested to see Manny in the ring again, after all he is one of the greatest, but he had to retired from professional boxing. Good to hear that the proceeds will go the homeless in the Philippines, that is good to hear the Manny is helping his fellow countryman in whichever he can.

This is what I like Pacquiao, if he will go back inside the ring even just for exhibition fight.
The proceeds won't really go entirely to his pockets, but there is charitable organization or entities that will benefit.
If all exhibition matches will have this mission, I believe it is worth watching them even if it is not a real fight.
Pacquiao is already a politician and he has good life already, but he is willing to be back for the sake of less fortunate people.
I will also watch this for the mere thought that this Legend in boxing will try to show his prowess inside the ring one more time, even just for entertainment purposes.
1513  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Zero KYC tolerance gambling platforms on: October 18, 2022, 08:30:59 PM
Is KYC verification very important to crypto gambling websites or this has something to do with their regulations rule? Where can one gamble with zero verification requirements?
This is not something that most casinos would have liked to implement but since those are the regulations passed by the governments then they will under some circumstances ask for your information, in fact there has been cases of casinos which claimed they will not ever ask for any kind of verification but eventually they gave up and they now ask for that information, so unfortunately I think we are slowly reaching the point in which it is impossible to gamble in this market without identifying yourself.

Expect this to most gambling sites with gaming license.
However, some of these licensed casinos are not asking their players' their kyc if you are a small roller.
Some of them are stating in their ToS that if your deposit is below $2k, they won't ask KYC.
But if you have big winnings, expect that they may require you to submit your docs before withdrawal.
Non-licensed casinos usually don't ask KYC, but the possibility of being screwed is always there.
So it is your choice if you want to play in a trustworthy casino or not.
1514  Economy / Economics / Re: The Economic Formulas For Future Food Shortage on: October 17, 2022, 08:07:53 PM
One of the best economic strategies to solving the challenging problems of food shortage or inflation being the master consequence of food shortage is to engage in agriculture, if everyone has as little as a small farm garden to get their produce by raising them indoor, things could have come abit under control and market pruce would not be inflated since everyone is into the practice but to say the fact, we all have deviated from the practice of farming, learning agriculture now because a rare thing to do and those in it has nothing to do than inflating the price whenever their shortage in supply.

I am also with this concept, if people won't totally rely from their market to cater their food needs,
I believe the impact of inflation or food shortage won't be that much to everyone.
As you said, if everyone has the initiative to produce something out of his garden/backyard/front yard,
no matter how small the area is, it will give you some produce that may not only sustain some of your kitchen needs,
but you can also barter it to your neighbors and be at least self-sufficient with some food supplies.
We don't need to wait for our government to initiate some programs to address food shortage.
We can already start addressing this problem within ourselves and act as if no one will assist us on this battle.
1515  Economy / Gambling / Re: which casino has a lot of action on their Plinko game? on: October 17, 2022, 06:56:21 PM
I wonder why this thread resurfaced again. Is there any big event on Plinko that makes this old thread necrobump?
I don't think there is any big event on plinko at the moment, I think a user by name iv4n resurrected the thread, you can see from the screenshot below that the last comment on this thread belonged to OP and its dated October 25th, 2017.
Iv4n commented on October 8th, 2022 replying to OP's query, I want to believe he(iv4n) didn't check the date the OP made this post before posting his comment.

-

Nice observation but come to think of it, the question of the OP is still relevant today.
The mentioned sites, stake and bitvest are still alive though bitvest encountered some issues in the past year.
But there are some sites like the 500Casino offering a different plinko game experience for the players as mentioned above.
After 5 years, plinko is still one of the popular casino classics being played by crypto gamblers.
And some casinos are innovating this game by giving a different touch just like what 500Casino is offering.
Duelbits has their plinko also and you can easily choose what variations you would want - selecting the extreme mode/row/risk.

👋 Hello, Crypto Pirates. The Gen 1 NFT Mint finishes on October 22nd.🤯

🔥You still have a chance to mint your Gen 1 NFT on the Crypto Pirates website. The mint will end at 23:59UTC on October 22nd.😱

Like & retweets : https://twitter.com/_Crypto_Pirates/status/1582056872219009026

@OP, I noticed that you are the only one posting here with updates.
But don't know if you have gamers from the forum who tried your beta launch.
What exactly is your stage of development right now with this P2E NFT gaming platform?
Is your roadmap on the site updated? The marketplace items are quite expensive in my opinion.
Though I don't know the actual value of those items in this game, if indeed there are players buying those items and playing this game.
1517  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: My exorbitant lessons in last bull market on: October 17, 2022, 04:44:46 PM
Well the first lesson has been learnt by every other newbie to the crypto market, not just in 2021-2022 but every day every month every year someone is losing money buying shitcoins and realizing it late.

On the other hand, bitcoin buying seems to give them a no-no impression because the price is high such that they cannot by whole number amounts, which is absurd to me, because knowing the actual value of 1BTC in fiat and the possibility to buy a few fractions of BTC makes this this ridiculous. One should focus on buying fractions of bitcoins and accumulating the same and then sell at the profit point.

The earlier one realized that altcoins are secondary and bitcoin is primary to making profit, the better it is for them.

Most users who believed in buying meme coins or tokens are the ones who are thinking that they can really get high profits.
However, only few of them can be valuable as most will die down fast after pumping in the market.
Buying small amount of btc is still worth it as long as you have long-term goals on this coin.
It is not because you bought today, you need to sell it the next day, which may incur losses given the market condition.
It may show losses today but in the next months or years to come, it will give you profits.
However, no one can assure you when will it rise from your buying price. But do take note that you bought, because you have hope in this market.
1518  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you be influenced by your favourite celebrity? on: October 17, 2022, 11:15:01 AM
Playing bet should be by choice and not doing what others are doing
And the others choice is to copy what the celebrities they follow do. Well, it's different for me. I don't usually allow them to influence me but who knows, if that's my crush that's telling her fans to look at her bets.

Who I am to not look at it?  Grin

So, it's depends to the situation on who's that celebrity that's trying to influence their community. I'm sure that others are also easily influenced by their celebrity crushes.  Tongue
I don't think that it would be a great idea if the reason why you would try and bet on something is mainly that you have a crush on the celebrity who's bet on that too.

It's best that you depend on each situation and if your idol or celebrity crush has a reason and logical meaning as to why they will bet on that for you to be able to have atleast some insights on copying his/her bets.

I believe, such action will be common to younger generation but for older ones, I don't think so.
They already have their own disposition in life especially if it is related to money matters.
They may have celebrity favorites but I don't think they will be greatly influenced by their betting habits.
They may check the bets of their favorite celebs but it doesn't mean, they will also place bets.
If they know and are familiar with the sports, they will select their own winners.
1519  Economy / Gambling / Re: Regulations & Gambling projects on: October 17, 2022, 03:38:56 AM
Due to no regulation for the gambling sites, many fake gambling sites was origin in many countries with a legal Statement to the government. They start the sites without any license,it mean the transaction made by such fake gambling sites are not a monitor able one.People should need to check the gambling website license, even it allow you to play with out kyc .And allow no limit to deposit and withdraw of funds.Regulation of gambling website is essential one for sure.
actually what i can see in this? is those sites that tend to be scamming are just created by one person or team? this is why they completely knew about the ins and outs because they have been doing this for long time now and they need no Big capital just to operate and victimize then just drop the site to create new one?
this is how bad the non regulated gambling in online so maybe it is time now that each projects in gambling must be regulated.

This is why if a gambler found this forum - and lurk around here in the gambling boards, he will at least avoid scam casinos.
That is if he will roam around the discussion threads and the gambling thread itself of the casino.
He will get the idea of how the casinos or bookies are operating their business, and as much as possible prevent himself from playing with existing complaints.
A casino may be regulated but it won't stop them from screwing up the player if they can find a loophole in the system.
But if the site can be found here, and has good reputation, being scammed would not be your problem.
1520  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: The future of Axie Infinity on: October 16, 2022, 09:56:54 PM
I just doubt they will... I think axie is going to end up going down as another shitcoin
Just like the path every other hyped token has gone through before even after raising a lot of funds. Coins like EOS still keep echoing in my mind whenever I think about a very "successful ICO"

Edit: looks like they raised $153 million at the start of 2021, I wonder what that was spent on.
Tequila on the Beach for the devs?

I remember EOS, I thought they will be successful in this market.
The fees are cheap and I really thought they had a chance here.
With Axie, I believe, the hacking incident was the beginning of their problems.
They were enjoying the popularity as P2E gaming platform and suddenly a multi-million dollar hack happened.
Definitely, this hacking incident affected their platform. They only recovered about $30M from $600M+ stolen crypto with the help of US Government.
https://www.coindesk.com/policy/2022/09/08/us-government-recovers-30m-from-crypto-game-axie-infinity-hack/
Can they regain their popularity and still be the top p2e gaming platform?
This is hard to determine, so if you're a player, better secure your initial investments. At least get your initial funds by selling some of your coins.
