1441  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 5 Bear Market Mistakes to Avoid on: November 08, 2022, 09:58:49 PM
Panic = FOMO

That's the problem for many traders and investors. It's a bear market that we don't know when it will be on the bottom and when it will be stopped.

Too hard to say when there are too many incidents happening just like the FTX/Binance matter that we're seeing right now.

I did not expect also the Binance-FTX latest news. Binance will further cement their position in this market.
A multi-billion dollar company but decided to sell it to rival business company.

At one point being a trader myself, I can say, I am still guilty of one of the things listed by the OP.
I guess, from time to time, we can still feel those emotions as we travel this journey of being a trader.
It is not always we are confident with our decisions, because factors are changing every time.
1442  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: November 08, 2022, 09:28:11 PM
Is this the biggest odds gap for a boxing unification? 1.02 is way too low. But maybe rich bettors will still take advantage of this by risking huge amounts of money. A million-dollar bet on Inoue gives $20,000 which is like free money.

I can't imagine how much guts we need to risk that million dollars for a $20,000 return even though Inoue has a 99.9% chance to win. Well then, since we are not a multi-millionaire, we are questioning that guts but maybe these people on that tier can manage the risks.

However, bookies already know that kind of system and surely, a million-dollar single bet on a sure favorite might not be possible because of the bet limits especially if we refer to crypto-bookies. Don't know though how it works on fiat bookies.

Maybe some people can take the risk of this very low odds using their multi-million dollar bet.
But is it really worth it? We can always wait for other betting lines that may give better profits.
Inoue is obviously the favorite here and upset is not likely to happen.
If Inoue will emerge again as a winner on this fight, he may think of going up his weight division.
1443  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Losing $350,000 because of a friend, what would you do? on: November 08, 2022, 08:53:03 PM
Such an incident would never happen, to be honest if it happened, I would be upset and I will always remember it for a joke. Being in that guy's position maybe I'll laugh, let's say didn't win that much money because of a friend's fault he feel definitely embarrassed and uncomfortable to me, rather than we are far from friend better more we are closer together. Although $350K is not a small amount of money. Cheesy
yes because this is just a joke thread, so it wouldn't be possible in the real world, even though it happened too I don't think there's any need to blame friends for their carelessness or mistakes, so just enjoy life without having to think about serious problems because of losing $350k only a mistake I think maybe we can understand even though the mistake will continue to be carried away by dreams  Grin

At first glance of the title thread, I thought, it is indeed actual situation.
However, if it will happen in reality, it will be like one in a million chance that it will happen.
But if you are in that situation, you need to look at the bigger picture.
If he is indeed your true friend, it is only the money that you will lose in this game, though a huge one.
But your friendship will still remain in a lifetime. He maybe made a mistake at the moment, but it should not dictate the end of relationship to him.
1444  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Parents And Their Children In Gambling.. on: November 07, 2022, 09:45:29 PM
-snip-

I have noticed the same here, I have seen my neighbor letting her 6-8 years old child to play on her phone so the child can stay entertained.
It is a weird thing to see, considering these new phones we see nowadays could be even bigger than the head of the child itself and the side of those handheld devices are not designed to be held by little children.

The problem is that apps are not how they used to be back in the day, they are not about a one-time purchase anymore, the business model have switched to micro-transactions and even worse: loot-boxes, in games are are supposed to be for everyone.

I can even find on Google Scholar several articles suggesting a link between loot boxes and problem gaming, even mental struggles.

https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0306460319301091

I believe this situation is now all across the globe as smartphones are easy to access.
A lot of parents are also doing this just letting their kids use or buy their phone so they can free up themselves.
Yes, they can have free time but they don't know that their kids are learning something that they should not do yet.
You are right, most apps now are having in-app purchases which means, it is free to install but once you played it, you need to pay to acquire items of the game.
Parents should be cautious on this practice. This is why some will be surprised also if they received their credit card billing from unknown purchases.
But kids now can easily access possible gambling apps because of the smartphones, parents should be alarmed with their kids activities using phones.
1445  Economy / Gambling / Re: I am opening a crypto casino / sportsbook what should we add? on: November 07, 2022, 08:14:16 PM
Thanks yeah about the bonus cheaters i think we have to sacrifice that and offer low bonus so we can be always 100% a KYC free site
Try to avoid no deposit bonus even if the amount is a few dollar. You will end up discovering yourself losing a lot of money. Eventually these accounts are hundreds of bots from a few group of people.

Thanks yeah we are going to do maybe a loyalty program so if you bet on the site 4 time at month you would get cashback it doesn't matter the amount you bet if you are loyal to the site we are going to give cashback or free spins

That's not hard to complete. 4 time a month without considering the amount.
Maybe, add also levels of the gambler. The higher the level or the more they wager, they will have better cashback percentage or more free spins.
Looking forward to see how this site will evolve and if indeed they will attract users that can maintain their business.
As we have seen, we have so many casinos/bookies existing already, they need to find their own identity to create their own niche.
1446  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Akaho - December 3 on: November 07, 2022, 07:02:40 PM
So another complicated things in this division and we might not see a unification after all with this boxing politics. Probably it's better for us boxing fans to see how Casimero will do in his maiden 122 lbs fight.

It would be one of the possible interesting matches of Casimero's 122 lbs adventure is a rematch against Zolani Tete.  We all know that Casimero had KO'ed  Tete in 3rd round of their fight and now Tete is somehow doing well in 122 lbs getting 2 KO victories and Won Commonwealth, IBF International, and vacant WBO International super bantamweight titles[1]

Also, in the world of boxing, Casimero is much more known and people already know what he can do while this Ryo Akaho is not that known yet because as you can see on his record, he's more like a local boxer but he made an appearance in this very industry once way back 2015 but returned to local fights right away because he was defeated badly by a Thailand boxer by a way of KO.

I think being popular does not mean they are a better boxer, look at Canelo and Bivol, Canelo is way more popular than Bivol and yet Bivol dominates their fight.  So I think the better boxer isn't about how popular they are but how skilled they are.  Popularity is more on the promoter's job by cherry-picking opponents and making their boxers look powerful.

So we don't know whether Akaho is not a match for Casimero until we have seen the conclusion of their match.

[1] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zolani_Tete

I also want to watch this fight to see the caliber of Akaho as compared to Casimero.
As Casimero had several troubles when it comes achieving the right weight in the past,
hopefully this division won't give him any problem and should be an easy one for him.
I watched his fight with Rigo, and of course he's the aggressive one at that time as Rigo kept on running away.
Anyway, hopefully, we will see the aggressive Casimero on this match as he needs to vindicate himself.
Butler and Inoue were his supposedly the opponents but I don't think the Inoue fight will materialize anymore if they will go separate paths.
1447  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEW🔮ZKasino.io | Fully decentralized casino | $10.000 🎁away | 0.6% | NO KYC on: November 07, 2022, 06:23:20 PM

We won't punish any actors. We will only offer bonuses that are +ev for the DAO and have no problem with any multi accounts. Use as many accounts as you'd like, we respect your privacy.

Thank you, we're happy to be here <3

Fair point and I really like your virtue towards privacy. This is actually what’s done at the first place to avoid KYC measures just to caught cheater. If you may, Can you give example bonuses that you are planning to fully understand what is +ev in common terms so that normal user can easily comprehend your bonus style.

So this means you will not offer 3rd party game provider since you are planning to become a completely decentralized casino?

+ev meaning we will only give out bonuses that are in line with the house edge (0.6%) and that cannot be abused.

Currently, we are not able to offer 3rd party game providers(because we are completely decentralized and on-chain) and will instead be producing our own games/slots. When they eventually move over we will be happy to incorporate them. Our future vision is for creators to be able to develop their own games like slots and earn a share of the profits generated. Either way the direction we take will be decided by our community and DAO.

You can add FAQ in your site so you don't need to answer again and again the common questions asked by users.
Just like your means of payment - you mentioned btc via smart contracts? Are you referring to WBTC?
Also, is your 1ZKUSD equivalent to 1 USD? Do you have backing for this token in order to sustain its value?
When are you looking at to launch this casino? Some may be interested to play again in a fully decentralized casino.
1448  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Poll: In your opinion is this the end for Bitcoin/Cryptocurrency? on: November 07, 2022, 05:21:55 PM
This question is best asked when, and only when, Bitcoin price drops to zero. Until that happens, there is no reason to ask. The answer, however, is simple: Bitcoin will never go to zero. In order for that to happen, there would need to be literally no one left with any interest in using Bitcoin. Now, is that really likely? Even if the entire world were against Bitcoin (including every government, business and organization), it would not make much of a difference - there are plenty of folks out there who would still use it, which would drive its value (even if slightly) and ensure its survival. So fear not the death of Bitcoin, like many before it, it is here to stay.

Very well-said, the question is not relevant in today's situation.
This is why, it is understandable that no one answered yes from the OP's poll.
I don't know why some insist on asking this type of question towards btc or crypto,
when in fact, they already know the answer. We have been more than a decade in this market,
now is not the time to doubt the existence of btc or crypto or think about its doomsday.
Why not look at the brighter side and use this opportunity to advance your interest on this industry?
1449  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lost 270 dollar in roullete plan on revenge on: November 07, 2022, 02:07:48 PM
That is the kind of the emotion that I would like to avoid. Chasing losses, revenge, just want my ROI back. Those type of mentality will probably end up in a bad situation like more loans to come, pawning your beloved items, stealing, and other stuff which they call "digging your own grave".
It's up to you, if you really think you can outwit them, then do so. But I doubt you can bankrupt them with just a mere $1000 as your capital.
That will not be enough, for a physical casino to run, they must have the money to take big bets.

This is what I was thinking, with the capital of $1k, can you really beat the house with this amount?
The more likely scenario is that he will lose all those money and go home again to withdraw funds..
I hope the OP would think twice and see what his loss is doing to his actions. It may escalate to other things as you mentioned.
Physical casinos won't be bankrupt by $1k bankroll from a gambler. He should know that being a gambler.
1450  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you consider appearance in business and employment? on: November 06, 2022, 09:57:45 PM
Go into an interview without fixing yourself and let's see what will be their first impression. Actually, first impression lasts and that's why you need to be at your best whether it's an interview or a business meeting.
It's important how you look and your appearance matters a lot to them because it is your asset and it can be considered that you can face people seriously with the attire that you wear.

Especially if you have no idea about the people you are going to meet.
So dress accordingly, because you'll never know what you're going into.
You can start wearing clothes that are more comfortable to you when you already know these people.
But I do agree, first meeting will give them first impression. You need to create a great one.
1451  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Early Sign to Adopt Bitcoin by Nigerian Government on: November 06, 2022, 09:37:38 PM
Aside for the so called advertisment of radio Nigeria I dont trust the source of the information. I dont see the government making crypto regulation soon. I also think this is coming out at the moment when money laundering is everywhere and money might be moved into wallets. I learnt many wealthy people are looking for some poeple to hold their fund against be efcc pursuit lately.

If this will be published in more credible sites like maybe their government portal itself, then, we may believe the possible truth on this.
Otherwise, we can't tell the authenticity its contents though it is coming from bitcoin.com and written by an African journalist also.
But if in case, why not? It is for the good of the crypto market. So all kinds of developments are open to us.
If they can push thru this kind of initiative, maybe, they can help some of their younger generation to survive and change their path for the betterment of themselves.
1452  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fees on Dormant Accounts on Crypto Gambling Platforms on: November 06, 2022, 09:04:23 PM
This is quite an interesting topic, I've never experience or not know if the casino has deducted some kind of storage fee or close my account. I have a habit of cashing out the balance I have on a casino every time I play unless it is little that I can tolerate. I've also never heard that anyone has a problem losing their balance because of inactivity or being dormant after a while. I think it's fair for them to charge depending on the situation if it is indicated on their TOS but I do hope that they charge fairly and not overpriced. For me 15% is just ridiculously high and that 15% will matter on high rollers. They should at least send an email or warning that they will charge a fee to you when you didn't touch your balance in their casino platform.
They said they will email the user for being inactive before charging a fee for that, I’m also shock that they are being too strict for a dormant account, and with Sportsbet charging a 15% for just 3 months of not playing is quiet high, dormant account should be longer and with banks it started for the next 2 years of being inactive. If you are planning not to play on that site anymore, just make sure you don’t have any balance with your account because they will confiscate it.

Maybe, it is short when it comes to gambling sites because  the time period for them is so fast.
Most of them are actually exiting this business without a warning. And holding those funds may possibly incur them expenses when it comes to maintenance.
But I don't agree the high percentage of fees. With this in mind, the players should just keep himself active even using small funds.
As the OP said, not considering getting out of funds, I believe the percentage of fees should be lower.
It is now on the player's responsibilities if he will leave his funds to the site for longer period of time.
1453  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Im looking For good signals channels on: November 06, 2022, 07:39:43 PM
I dont need your advice how dangerous those channels or groups are i know myself just Im looking For good pmpp channels.

Don't be arrogant. Don't think that most people here will just give you what you want without precautions and good advice. If that's your demand, don't seek any help here about that because no one believes here in the group or channels providing a signal.

Something like that doesn't exist. There's no way a signal can be predicted providing how heavy the volatility in the crypto-market is.

They are just milking money for their subscribers and seems you are willing to just give free money to them.

It is his own choice if he will follow these signal channels but he should accept the fact that no one can give him the right channel he's looking for.
If there's any, a lot will be recommending it to other people. But unfortunately, with those large number of channels dedicating to this kind of service,
no one is known to have a very good signals shared to its subscribers. Most are good in providing signals a lil bit late than the supposedly target.
That is because, only the owners of these channels are mostly benefiting their signals. Leaving its subscribers screwed because of holding worthless coins.
1454  Economy / Gambling / Re: I am opening a crypto casino / sportsbook what should we add? on: November 06, 2022, 06:05:17 PM
About #1, many casinos have touted this but in the end, it's ultimately to protect the casino's interests.

Are you sure you guys aren't gonna process KYC in case some withdraws or deposits are suspicious?

No we would never ask for KYC i prefer to first close it before doing KYC

I like your enthusiasm but I believe you are underestimating the implications of running a no-KYC casino.
I have never worked for a casino or ran one but I don't have to run it to know your promise will be hard to keep.

Let us assume you launch your casino, you do not do KYC and you even accept Monero, with time you casino starts having profits, thousands and thousands of dollars because your platform is well received, but whether you like it or not, when your casino grows big enough it will attract people seeking to mix and launder funds.

In the end, your casino could end up holding and even distributing Bitcoin an altcoins obtained through cyber crime, you would likely receive e-mails from law enforcement agencies and then you would need to decide whether close your casino or ask for KYC and other measures.

It would be difficult for me to close a business which is generating thousands of dollars, to be honest.

I can agree that they don't need to give statement that is hard to keep.
Since they will be following the Costa Rica regulations when it comes to gambling, who knows in the future
their casino and bookie will be in the hot position as you said, when they are already earning not only thousands but millions of profits?
For now, I can understand they won't be asking KYC but they should be open to this possible scenario.
Let us wait now if they can truly attract gamblers. It is not because of no kyc but sometimes it is how the site is treating their players.
Don't forget the ToS and FAQ sections on the site once launched.
1455  Economy / Economics / Re: Is long-term employee retention a losing battle? on: November 06, 2022, 04:59:27 PM
The Generation Z kids do not believe in the same things that the Generation X believed in... namely ==> Staying with one company until they pension.... they are "Zoomers" and they like to Job hop from one job to the next.

Companies should actually welcome this trend, because it brings new ideas to the company and their labor cost are also kept lower in the long run. (Long-term employees normally have inflated salaries for the same job description)  Tongue

Times are changing and so with our generation of young adults.
They may have different preferences in life and so with their work desires.
Companies should think that this is not unusual but because of evolving taste of every generation,
owed to evolving environment and advancement of technology. Their options seems to be varied these days.
Most are not keeping up with the tradition of retiring from their job after long years of working.
This battle is not new anyway, it just revitalized throughout the years because of our changing environment.
1456  Economy / Economics / Re: Will you further your degree from school, or learn a new skill after college? on: November 05, 2022, 09:56:38 PM
who would you advice to reconsider, and who would you encourage to continue?

I will advise both of them. For the one that is wanting to further her education from the degree she had, I would ask her if the field is a lucrative field because that is to be considered. This time around the economy is thriving from certain field and so studying courses related to that field will be beneficial. And for the other that want to learn skill, this is a superb thinking and if the background you have is a lucrative field then learn skill related to it so that you will have advantage and learn faster.

It depends on the goal of the person himself. But in my case, I would further get masters or doctorate degree.
The chances are different but if you want to hone your skills, you can always opt to this path.
There is no absolute answer to this anyway, because it depends on your ultimate mission in life.
Where do you think you can find your passion? Because finding your passion will give you better satisfaction in life.
Because everyone has their own calling, and so this aspect varies from person to person.
1457  Other / Meta / Re: Cryptocurrency Casinos Are Ruling The Signature Campaign Here In Bitcointalk on: November 05, 2022, 09:21:40 PM
Do you think that this trend will go on for many years?
Will Bitcointalk become known as a gambling forum?
Will the days of the altcoins signature campaign return in the future?

As far as altcoin signature campaigns, obviously they have their own board and probably most of us are not familiar sign we prefer Bitcoin paying campaigns. But I don't think that this community will be known as gambling forum per se. It is still known as "Bitcointalk", meaning everything under bitcoin could be discussed here.

And this has been the trend for most bitcoin paying campaigns, majority of them are into gambling, even before majority of us who joined here, circa < 2017.

Alt sig campaigns are still ongoing. But I can agree if in terms of assurance of payment, only btc-paying campaigns here are highly recommended.
There are few long-running campaigns like the mentioned chipmixer, bestchange, gold stablecoin, but yes, most btc-paying are gambling sig campaigns.
Bitcointalk is still accommodating all kinds of campaigns, and remember, it is only one perks of this forum.
This forum was not built because of these campaigns, but to serve crypto enthusiasts with various valuable discussions not only in crypto.
It is just that most casinos are the ones who are financially capable of paying btc to their participants. Which means, they are doing good in their business.
1458  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How are Online casino's and sports betting platforms coping? on: November 05, 2022, 08:52:13 PM
The market crash doesn't stop gamblers from playing games. Everyday the gaming reserve keeps growing as gambling doesn't leave a person easily. Considering that brands face difficulty, its their duty to figure a better way to gain revenues on their platform. Since the available brands are still here then they're holding on real tight towards the better days.

In terms of online casinos or bookies, we won't know if they cut down staffs or what they are doing to cut costs.
However, if we are looking at their presence, I think they are doing great as more new casinos or bookies are being launched.
Also, a lot of casinos that you can find in this forum are still doing great. It means, they are generating good income.
And just remember during the height of pandemic, one of the few businesses that did thrive were online casinos and bookies.
1459  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC, more closer bullish days ahead. on: November 04, 2022, 09:55:20 PM
Bullish does not seem to occur in 2022, this can be seen from the price chart that occurs, when prices rise there will be a large volume of transactions and originating from selling so that the price of dropping again, we must be patient and maybe in 2023 the price can be rise again.
Bullish trend will take time to come again, the recent pump is just another attempt for Bitcoin to make a new up trend but if failed to break the resistance again, then we can safely say that bear market is still strong. With Bitcoin reaching the price of $21k again, it should create more volume to break the resistance or else we will end this year at the lower price. Yes, patience are very important the next halving is about to come though we might see the bull trend before that halving.

If we will look at the big picture, more than likely, btc will experience the bullish market in the very near future.
This is because more and more people are getting into this market. So the chance of recovering is always there.
We may not see the bullish trend today, but the hope of seeing another ATH or another bullish season is very likely to happen.
This is what many people are anticipating to happen, which is reasonable enough as the scope of btc adoption is increasing.
1460  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Minimum deposit and minimum withdrawal. on: November 04, 2022, 07:42:47 PM
The minimum deposit and withdrawal amounts are important, specially if the casino is aiming to players and gamblers from developing countries.
I come from a country which could be considered to be one of them, we have gone through a very serious economical crisis, the interesting fact about our economical situation is that people never stopped gambling, actually there was a time gambling proliferated around the country, there were little gambling and lottery establishments in every corner.

People were struggling, so an important factor of those gambling places was the very low minimum wager, people could gamble with amounts as low as 1$, this allowed more people to take their first steps into gambling and let those in bad economical circunstancies to gamble, even if they could not win big, at least it helped them to distract themselves from the chaos around.

It is a fact that whatever the situation is, there will always be gamblers.
As we have seen, during the pandemic, that's when online casinos boosted their presence.
Because people were stuck at homes and some are looking for activities to do.
In this case, we can see that despite of the crisis that humanity is facing with, there will always be gamblers who will play.
And so, the minimum amount in deposit or withdrawal is important for these people, just to get by with their gambling desires.
