1581  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Is Faucetpay paying bigger withdrawals? on: September 28, 2022, 10:02:43 PM
I am not sure how long FaucetPay.io has been in business, but as far as I know, they have been around for a few years (since 2018 if my memory is correct). I haven't seen any serious allegations against them yet. Not on this forum at least. But of course, that doesn't mean the company can't close shop and run away with your money at any time, since it's a custodial wallet service after all.

The whois details says that they are in business since 2019, I also ran on this site in the past.
I also don't know if they have their own thread but found this thread
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5255740.0 - FaucetPay.io Provably Fair Seeding Event for Crash!
Seems that they are doing good business, but the OP can always run a search if there is existing allegations towards this site.

1582  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can whitepaper still shows the weakness of a project and their team on: September 27, 2022, 11:48:15 PM
Whitepaper has been representing the future vision by the team yet this is not a good indicator to think if the team is legit or reliable compared with another team. The fact that if this time so many people aware about the team can use the whitepaper as a way to make sure people believe in their vision when reality will always be the opposite thing from what already stated in the whitepaper. I personally never take whitepaper as a serious thing for that. In my opinion if whitepaper is not a reliable indicator anymore.
It's still matter to the people who trying to invest but it's not a thing that guaranteed if that project will not be a scam. I see that so many projects dead even they have good whitepaper.
There are so many copy paste whitepaper as well.

I have the same sentiments as I've seen comprehensive whitepapers and yet, they ended up bad.
Much better, if you will check their use case and their objectives. Will it attract great number of users long-term?
Or do they have working app or services already? Because even if the concept is very noble,
it is still up to the team how they will implement it in real world.
Thus, whitepaper is not the ultimate reason why a certain project can achieve success.
1583  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Parents And Their Children In Gambling.. on: September 27, 2022, 10:20:51 PM
<..snip..>

What do you make out of this story, should we really allow our children to live such a lifestyle like gambling and night clubbing, most especially, when they are still under aged?

Let's discuss about this..

Interesting take on this- I guess that the son of MJ was influenced by the lifestyle of his dad. We all know that MJ is a notoriously big spender in gambling- there is even a rumor that the reason on why his father was killed involved gambling. It is like, it is innate in the nature of MJ that he is very competitive in all aspects of his life, not just in basketball.

Our sons see their father as their role models. There was an article that I read that our children mimic the actions of their parents while growing up. Maybe this influenced Marcus in his gambling spree. Though they are rich, this kind of practice must be corrected and stopped as this can be definitely his downfall in the future.

The problem is who will guide these kids if his parent was into this industry?
There should be other family members that he can look up to or at least has the concern to their actions.
But it all sums up, it is how the parents instill the discipline to their kids.
They will also learn their lessons at their own time.. They will also mature in time.
1584  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto agents on the increase on: September 26, 2022, 09:50:05 PM
No one can stop scammers, yes what we can do is just to avoid them.
Growing crypto’s popularity doesn’t mean that scammers will get into action. Earlier there were scams and so do in future it will happen. We need to be careful and stay away from scams.
Op has mentioned quite good details in order to avoid scams, just follow those and be careful with people.
That's true basically scammers will always be there and it's not easy to eradicate because it will reappear,
that way the thing we can do is avoid it even though it's also not something easy but we must keep trying,
The most important thing is to always be alert and careful
Scammers keep finding new ways to scam people, so other people should always be careful about not getting scammed. I have seen projects spending thousands of dollars with the hopes of rug pulling in the end and getting out. Which is why it's clear that we shouldn't really be worried about what to find, new things, bigger risks for bigger rewards, because none of that would work.

We should be focusing more towards what we can do with the known ones because that will make sure that we earn something. People are acting as if this is a normal thing, like how you should risk money, like that's the only way to get rich. But boring methods have made money for decades now.

As this market is growing and attracting more people, and so are scammers.
This is a new playground for them to exhaust money from unknowingly individuals.
If you want to avoid these possibly new scam projects, better keep your funds in top currencies like BTC.
There are so many forms of scamming, but as long as you are here, you will also be prone to their tactics.
1585  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is permissable in Islam. on: September 26, 2022, 08:19:36 PM
Don't limit your understanding since Bitcoin has been explicitly governed by Muslims.
Bitcoin is not governed by anyone, religion or group of people, bitcoin is decentralized and only the user who owns the funds governs controls their own personal funds, i don't know where you get that impression of Bitcoin being governed by muslims.
Depending on usage. Bitcoin is legal if used as a medium of trade. For instance, utilizing Bitcoin for cash transactions similar to those using fiat currencies.
Not only in Islam, but generally, and even from an ethical point of view, we all want Bitcoin to be used for legal activities, but just as fiat is used too, there's nothing we can do to stop some fraudulent people from using Bitcoin for the wrong reasons.
Thanks for explaining a bit about Bitcoin.
Without ignoring what you have said, it is true that Bitcoin is not regulated by anyone and by any religion. The nature of Bitcoin can only be controlled by the user who owns the address. You also don't forget that the OP invites a discussion regarding the Bitcoin law in Islam and I try to interpret that in Islam, it has regulated the haram and halal provisions, including the halal and haram provisions on Bitcoin.

Though the OP invites discussion regarding bitcoin when it comes to Islamic way of life.
I believe, such laws and regulations depend on their people themselves.
Because they have their own understanding of what activities are to be categorized as halal or haram with respect to their teachings.
And because there is no defined laws towards bitcoin, it now depends on their leaders how to identify those activities in reference to their regulations.
But the good thing about here is that, everyone, no matter what religion you have, you can always btc at your own disposal.
1586  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: About Online casino/gambling projects on: September 26, 2022, 07:45:04 PM
Ops you are advised to always use the search features of the forum before asking any questions, to know if it has been answered on the forum before. Am sure there hand full of old casinos that are still very active and relevant over the years and until now, you can read through the forum to see some of those old casinos, and am sure a handful of them are still active with their signature campaigns on the forum e.g stake.

Aside from that, I can attest that there are old gambling sites that have survived up until now.
A very good example are freebitco and primedice, and honestly, I knew these sites before knowing this forum.
I believe a lot of users here are also long-time players in those 2 mentioned sites.
We can understand about the question of the OP as he is a newbie in the forum.
But if he tries to read the gambling board itself, he will surely understand that there are several casinos that are still active today.
1587  Economy / Economics / Re: DeFi credit scores: Coming soon to a blockchain near you on: September 26, 2022, 07:06:18 PM
A couple of years ago centralised systems were put in place for places like exchanges and cybersec institutions to mark addresses based off their evilness and try to use those to prevent evil funds being washed through exchanges - in a decentralised space I don't think it works but more places are demanding kyc (even if just to steal funds off clients they know aren't willing to file it in some cases).

Credit scores to defi seem impossible to enforce, credit scores in cefi are fairly weird too and can't track much - based off my own.

This is why I am wondering why people or companies are thinking that this venture will generate income from users.
Defi users are using these decentralized apps, for one, to secure their privacy and to leave very small details to none as much as possible.
So do you really expect them to voluntarily submit their online activities to get their defi credit scores?
Unless, there are some very tempting rewards or bonuses on the line, but still, I don't get the feeling that this will attract large number of users.
1588  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Dmitry Bivol vs Zurdo Ramirez on: September 26, 2022, 06:35:47 PM
Well, it's not new anymore that people wanted some spices before the actual fight to somehow make the fight more interesting. I know Zurdo is one of a kind but he needs to prove himself first against Bivol before starts boasting and saying lines like that.

If that is what he believes, then we just have to let it that way. Zurdo might be boasting but actually, he won't have the guts to say things like that if he's not sure about it. Might be because of his perfect record, he thinks achieving it is really difficult although he's correct on that regardless of the level of popularity of those he fought before.

Against Bivol, this might be the biggest fight of his career that's why he is pumped up. Let's wait if his talks is not just about talk.

Maybe, he's also saying that so people will get their interest on their fight.
Though I believe, a lot of boxing fans are already waiting for this, however, additional controversy would help them sell their tickets fast.
He maybe confident with himself, but we all know that we will see their true capability when they are both inside the ring.
He knows he's the underdog in this fight. So he better perform well inside the ring as much as what he's saying to the public.

1589  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Reputation on: September 26, 2022, 05:28:48 PM
We are in 21st-century bro, no one cares about you as long as you do your work right and don't allow four gambling activities to affect your job. I don't think there is any we're in your terms and conditions in your employment letter where it is stated that you can not partake in such activities and if that be the case you will have to face a panel if you are discovered to be a gambler.

100% true! By and large, no one cares at all - it only matters how you are able to do your job. If you do it well, then you are appreciated and you have a good reputation, if you do it badly, then you have a bad reputation. And it doesn't matter whether you like gambling or not, whether you believe in fictional creatures (religion) or not, etc.
Recently, various activists have been trying to mix personal life and professional aspects, but in adequate communities the situation remains the same.

As times are changing, people are also changing their perspectives in life.
However, much better if you keep it to yourself if you are a regular gambler.
If you are a professional, some people are looking up to you and they may see it as negative especially if they don't know why you are into gambling.
But if you are just betting in few occasions only like if you bet if your favorite boxer has his fight or your football team is in the arena.
I believe it is fine but in my opinion, it is still in your best interest to keep your gambling activities private even if it doesn't affect your real job.
1590  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: WHAT DID YOU STUDY? WHAT DID YOU LEARN? on: September 26, 2022, 04:39:22 PM
Every discipline has it's own rules. One connect's them:
The more you know, the more you know you don't know (Aristoteles)

In trading there is another rule: If everyone were a master trader, nobody would be.

What do you mean by master trader lmao?
It’s just basically based on luck and some major calculations.
If you are a pro trader and if the luck doesn’t comes in favour, then no matter what algorithm or code you make, you won’t get profits.
Yes there are some who excels in trading, but to be honest they also make losses. So yes it’s basically subjective and varies from people to people and depends on their trading skills.

Maybe, he meant also expert traders. But even them, they can experience losses.
No one can beat the trading market if the project itself will do such strategies like pump and dump or rug pull.
No matter how good you are, you will be at a loss because of unforeseen events.
But with some warning signals, you can also minimize your losses.
In this market, it doesn't matter what you studied, it is how well you are familiar with the projects that you are getting into.
1591  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to investigate and research new projects ? on: September 25, 2022, 11:53:36 PM
I am just recently getting into new crypto projects and dont know where to start from whatsoever, i do understand some projects are completely useless while some other projects can be promising, how to investigate on those ?
Theoretically, some elements to be researched for the new projects should be:
- Their WP
- Developer and team
- Token or coin utility and fundamentals
- Exchanges for listing
- Their roadmap and the realization
- Promotion
- Community approaches
and some otehr probably

But in fact, although we have analyzed at least what I mentioned above, those will not guarantee that our analysis is 100% true.
Because scammers could also make those projects seem like very true.
Or, sometimes, shit projects also make the project seem to be very good.

That is why always be careful and know what to do and not to do. If you are newbies, why don't you invest only o top coins or Bitcoins rather than gambling on new projects?

The point you have mentioned = of developing a team
I want to comment on it - I have been into freelancing for over 3 years now. But I am unable to find real worker- people want money and they do not want to work
In some way, that's true. Most of these projects are after for the benefit of their pockets.
Even projects with well-written whitepapers can eventually turn to a crap one.
You can't tell their real intentions up until they disappear and won't answer any of their social media channels.
That is why, if you are in doubt, better invest in top ones like BTC or ETH, at least they have been proven by time.
1592  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can someone explain to me why did ETH drop after the merge? on: September 25, 2022, 11:39:55 PM
basically the rumour is already making the value of eth increases like really a lot, meanwhile right when the moment the merge is realized, the value instead is going down, since the momentum already happened at the rumour and right at the merge, mostly people are instead liquidating their eth and it seems mostly they are moving over to the other coins for investments that they deemed better. I guess the merge is just like halving where the rise of value occured before the event itself.

I think the simple reason here is that btc is going down a lil bit, and so with the other alts.
Remember, most alts, eth is not exception, are just following the btc trend.
But I believe, if btc is going up, eth will also rise. The good thing is eth has very good foundation.
So for me, there's nothing to worry about. Unlike most alts, they will continuously go down if the dev team won't do anything about their developments.
1593  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: September 24, 2022, 11:52:34 PM
FUN token price is below $0.0075 ($0.00735376 at this moment), which changes a lot in betting. The main range ($0.007501 - $0.01, odds 1.34) which was for a long time "sure bet" is not longer "valid". The second one ($0.005001 - $0.0075, odds 3.00) has so far only 28% bets.
3 days left, time weight multiplier is x13 - time to bet on it?

It is actually mind blowing that a shitcoin like FUN is holding against the dollar better than the GBP and EUR. According to Binance FUN lost 0.8% against the dollar in the last 24 hours and GBP lost 3.54%. Euro is down 1.48% vs the USD. Maybe people in the Europe should dump GBP and EUR and switch to FUN instead which seems to be a lot more stable then their currencies.

By the way, if this bet is not valid anymore than it means it wasn never a "sure bet" in the first place. Just my 3 fiddy.
Maybe because it starts to not be seen as a shitcoin anymore. You can get several bonus with it on freebitcoin on top of a 25% APY investment if you lock it there for a year. Along with burns every quarter. And now it's even usable with no transaction fees on the Polygon network...

For the bet, odds don't seem to be juicy anymore at the end: @1.73 for $0.005-0.0075 range, @1.81 for $0.0075-0.01

What platforms are using the Polygon network for FUN?
Because freebitco and binance, they are still using the ERC20 network only.
But adding more cheaper networks would really entice some users to get involve with FUN.
1594  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [BBC] BabaCoin - Everything in the Name of Beautifying the World. on: September 24, 2022, 11:10:22 PM
What would be the difference this time as compared to old cpu-minable coins, which are not available anymore in the trading market?
Creating a new coin is easy, however, the sustenance of its market is hard.
You need to look for a certain use case that you think can support a longer lifespan of your coin.
Because right now, my impression says, this project won't survive long.
1595  Economy / Gambling / Re: Euphoriabet.io NO KYC Crypto Esports Betting and Roulette on: September 24, 2022, 09:40:10 PM
welcome to bitcointalk
op you said no need kyc for your casino site . this sound is really cool but i seen many details talking about KYC and AML policy on your terms of service . what do you mean actually about this ? i don’t know why your site keep kyc and AML policy on  terms of service but you ask no kyc on this topic headline ?

We do not require KYC any of the players  if the player does not violate the rules, we can request KYC if the player is suspected of cheating , betting on contractual matches, multi-accounting

The above post is the statement of the team towards KYC.
So at the moment, they are not requiring KYC, unless they suspected you from violating their ToS.
However, with the scenarios that we have observed in a lot of gambling sites, they sometimes require KYC even if you haven't violated any of their protocols,
but just because you got big winnings. Now, up to you how you will trust the site about their statement on this aspect.

~snip~
<...>
For starters, why claim to be a "no-KYC" casino when you can actually request KYC verification from any player at any time? Second, who gives you the legal right to collect any user personal information? What is your company? Where are you registered? Which jurisdiction?

If you feel the questions have already been answered, please direct me to the post in which they were discussed. I would really appreciate it.
^ I also wanted to know regarding this matter, it is very important if OP gives these details so that users of this gambling casino will lessen their doubt regarding the KYC. Because it will probably be possible a loophole when they saw a NO-KYC but when they withdraw it will ask KYC, it seems very frustrating if that will be on my side. Op just answer this question publicly so that you will know if your gambling casino is worth entrusting our fund not to become a scam.

If a gambler can not control himself and has such a strong gambling addiction that he creates new accounts to bypass restrictions, he deceives himself. Playing with low balance won't help him either. It seems to me that if such a gambler tries to keep a low balance, he will lose it anyway, and he will be tempted to top up his balance again and again.
Actually there is no other way to stop gambling than he really leaves the past, because if he is still involved in gambling games even for low bets but the addiction to gambling will come back, so it is very difficult to get rid of gambling addiction if without the desire in him to stop gambling, so he should be more active in other positive activities so that there is no more time to gamble.

Once you already pass on addiction stage for sure you realize all bad things you encounter and you can control yourself on what actions you do on gambling, And since there are people having fun playing then you see them they are totally fine we can still say that there's no harm if we participate in this activities. Its just people who are newbie on gambling expect to much that's why they live on unrealistic scenario then try to win big on casinos. This is some reason how addictions start to them, but if they could just get proper guidance they will not go on bad position where it can cost a lot on them.

Unfortunately, not all gamblers can contain themselves whenever they are already on the gaming table.
So the situation changes once they are already playing and enjoying their games.
They have different mindset if you are already addicted. This is why it is important to pause and take a break.
And reflect on what's going on with your life and ask yourself if you want that kind of life for the rest of your life.
1597  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: HeadsTails | Simplified Prediction Betting w/ Revenue Sharing via Crypto on: September 23, 2022, 11:23:02 PM

What is it exactly?
HeadsTails is a community-powered platform for betting on the predictions of real-world events using cryptocurrency.
HeadsTails is hosted on Binance Smart Chain, platform currency is BUSD BEP20.
Topics span a range of categories, including politics, world events, sports, science, public health, and more.

This announcement goes unnoticed for the last two weeks, I guess it was moved here but I don't think this is the right section for this project as they are not going to accept Bitcoin, and they are on a prelaunch it's better to move it in the altcoin section where it rightly belongs, there is no TOS, no FAQ what you posted here you should also post in your homepage, there's no readable information except your video, its very similar to Futuur but this one with a coin flip.

Yes, should not be here as they will be accepting BUSD.
Their platform seems to be like futuur. However, futuur is already accepting btc, and other top alts.

@headstails, as the site is not yet up and running, what would be different this time aside from using the BUSD currency?
You already have competitor who's been here in the business for quite a while.
1598  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Top mistakes of newbies in crypto on: September 22, 2022, 11:43:49 PM
the real wealth in crypto is made only by founders or holders , not by traders. even if you trade for rest of your life , you will never outperform the guy who bought bitcoin and Ethereum 5 years ago. analyze the data and don't be greedy. long term matters.
I do agree with your other point, that you need a certain amount of starting capital to make trading work, but ultimately to benefit from holding in the medium to long term, you'll also need a decent starting capital. Obviously, this entirely depends on your goals, and what return you're expecting on your investment in the first place.
In both cases it requires some good capital to survive and enter the market with a good position, let's say even if you are a long-term Bitcoin holder and do not enter the market with good capital even if you wait for a decade your return on investment will not exceed the amount of your capital no matter what Bitcoin price may be, same goes with trading the only thing is that trading have higher risk but can also give higher returns but holding have limited risk compared to trading but your profits will only come as a result of market uptrend condition when you hold.

In my opinion, if you don't want to get depressed comparing yourself to other holders.
Better take care of your own crypto holdings and look for ways how to take advantage of the market.
Just keep in mind that buy low, sell high. Hard to practice in real trading.
But it just means, sell above your buying price. If you do believe on this market, you will not sell at a loss.
1599  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul VS Anderson Silva October 29th on: September 22, 2022, 10:55:35 PM
I just watched the press conference, which I know I'm a little late too, but I must say I was quite impressed by Jake. He didn't resort to his normal internet personality, and came across as a nice guy. Giving credits to Anderson, and you can kind of tell that this kid grew up watching, and admiring him. That's nice to see. I know they recreated the picture they took several years ago with Logan too.

Obviously, the fights a little bit off now, and I thought a press conference was a little early, but Anderson talks about how he's training all the time. So, that might be worth considering, since I know that generally fighters that are ageing usually don't end up committing to the same training schedule they did when they were in their prime. So, that age might not show as much on Anderson, which I do believe is the case since he's looked good just over a year ago in his last fights.

One thing that I am worried about exhibition fights, is they may have prior arrangements.
We don't know if these 2 already know the results of their fight. So hard to say the outcome.
So even if Silva is preparing also, if they already know who should win here, then, it is the loss of the boxing fans.
Also, the judges may just rule this out as draw even if there is a clear winner.
With this, better not to bet on their fight, just watch for entertainment purposes only.
1600  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 22, 2022, 12:04:11 AM
Manny's known for helping charity so that's really going to be one of his goal when it's up to these profits that he'll make from these matches.

The exhibition match between Manny Pacquiao and South Korean YouTuber and martial artist DK Yoo will be organized as a pure entertainment match as what an exhibition match should look like. The match doesn't have a specific charity project that will support it, instead, both participants have their own plan for their earnings and proceeds.

Instead, and as you mentioned, some of Pacquiao's earnings here will be used to support his own project, Pacman Project. While on other hand, Yoo will give assistance to relieve operations in Ukraine. How will be the exact share of the cake was not disclosed.

It is nice to see a boxing legend use his sports to help needy people.
Most of these exhibition fighters are just pocketing their purses.
At least, the money spent by boxing fans are worth it as it can alleviate some sort of suffering by their chosen organizations.
I am not against with exhibition matches if there is some value to it.
But if it is just for the pocket of the promoter and boxer, I believe people will think twice of buying their ticket.
