The problem with refs making a mistake like that is the fact that nothing really changes. I have been watching NBA for over 20 years and seen them make a lot of mistakes, either in important situations or even in not so important situations, the time Tim Duncan got ejected for laughing is still in my mind, there was something done about that eventually though.

However, the thing about the current situation is that, if you do not fine the refs and suspend them for a long period of time for making such a game deciding mistake, then what is stopping them from doing it again? Or another one doing it? That is why refs needs to be held accountable a lot more, and we need a lot more refs to replace them if they make a mistake.

No way that will ever happen.  They barely make enough money now.  If they male bad calls they get fined from the talent pool of refs will go significantly down.  These people don't live luxurious lifestyles.  It's not done in any major sport.  Only thing you can do is rank them and prioritize giving the playoff games to the good refs and reward them for making it.  So instead of penalizing bad refs, incentive good ones.

I don't understand why until today, the league is not giving any suspension order on that ref.
Me either, I'm wondering why sanction hasn't been placed on Eric Lewis. Yeah, the referee that everyone wouldn't condone for the decision he made of not giving a call.

I'm starting to think that the management of Celtics is too close or powerful for the NBA management to just disregard of what everyone is talking about against him.

Later, it's going to be Nets and Lakers without Lebron and AD.

Ok thanks for the name, and there are data showing that since 2020, he referee the Boston games 38 times, 36-2 for the Celtics hehehe. So the next time Eric Lewis referee a game and it involves the Celtics, we know where to bet.  Grin

Similar to CP3 and Scott Foster as a referee, 0-14 straight-up in the last 14 playoff games Foster has officiated.

Others say that he is not closed to where the action is so he can't blew the whistle, perhaps not suspended, but referees need to be evaluated from time to time if they made a lousy officiating, just saying.

This makes sense and a better alternative than just dishing out fines for mistakes. They are just humans, and they will be prone to mistakes, whether it is honest or not. Fining them also prevents future refs to want to work in NBA. But giving incentives to those who does their job well will promote competitiveness.

Thanks for the tip, but is there really a way to know who will be officiating the game before hand?

Yeah, I also saw that data and that's why it seems that he's like the lapdog of the Celtics. Well, if it's not for this incident, no one will dig upon on the data that he's officiated as a referee with Celtics' games.

I agree about that they need to be reevaluated like a performance review but hopefully, that it will be done by an unbias body of the NBA so that there won't be the politics that might affect the review.

But it seems that there's no news like that yet that we've been waiting for, are they going to satisfy us with any action or will just let the issue die in silence?

If you are using that kind of belief about a game then yes, there's a way.

Referee assignments are posted at approximately 9:00am ET each game day.
For me though, that's kind of absurd to just use the officiating basis as who will the game. Boston Celtics is a strong team and even with other referees, I doubt they will be easy to beat.
But, if they are playing against the Nuggets, 76ers, or Nets with Durant, that's when I tend to bet against them, referees excluded.  Grin

Orlando Magic defeated the Philadelphia 76ers today at their home. Wow! They have Embiid, Harden, Maxey, and Harris, yet the Magic who is standing in the 13th spot of the East defeat the 3rd seed. Truly amazing. I lost my bet here but that was an entertaining performance, 1st half I thought it was going to be a blowout game for the 76ers but it ended differently.
Moritz Wagner. Most of the time it is Franz who offers help in the offensive end but now it is his brother who produced a lot. 22 minutes, 22 points.

I did watch that match, it was obvious in the video that there was a foul in Lebron's shooting, that's why he was losing his temper and was annoyed that the referee didn't call anyone.

I even watched that episode that was against them, and according to the news, the referee admitted that it was not called a foul, it was as if the referee admitted that he meant not to call it because he wanted to lose LA is. what a sad reality you are.

Yes, and it's obvious that the Nets are going to win by double digits and that's what happened in this game.

Lebron is like averaging 30 ppg, so that is a huge loss for them as he is not playing. And no one was able to cover that scoring from the Lakers, no one even scored 20 points or more from the Lakers, although 6 players scored. Kyrie Irving leads the Nets with 26 points.

Dončić almost played alone and made 53 points. This is the fourth time he scored 50+ this season. He's an incredible player. Mavericks beat the worst team in the NBA and he had to play for 36 minutes though. Normally Mavs should've won this game with an early lead and he should've sit in the bench for last quarter but they had to make extra effort to win the game. Mavs doesn't look too strong to me, they need to do better to get a good spot in West.

I agree though, it took them and Luka a lot of minutes and points in order to beat a low team. So what's more if they have a game another tougher teams in the East like the Bucks or Celtics, it's going to be very difficult for them.

As much as Luka is a candidate for MVP this season, he is on one of  a weak team and his support and role players are inconsistent.

Even Dinwiddie who thought to be the second option is unpredictable during games. He will get hot in the first hot and then disappear in the second.

Do you guys think that Orlando Magic can make playoffs this Season? Or least play in tournament? They played well in their last game with the 76ers!

The battle between the Western Conference teams are very tight.
The 4th seeded Clippers are 7.5 games behind the Nuggets and the 12th seeded Trail Blazers are only 10 games behind the top seeded team. What this mean is that, a streak either a losing or a winning streak will affect the 4th-12th seeded team greatly because all of them are separated only by 2.5 games. That's how tight it is.

As for the Mavericks, I don't see them as a good team as well (at least with their current roster). With Brunson getting traded to the Knicks, the Mavericks doesn't have a reliable 2nd option for offense. Maybe Dinwiddie can because he already did it when Luka hurt his ankle against the Suns, but is he consistent enough to carry the team if Luka got injured (hope it will not happen)? Usage rate of Luka is very high and I hate to say this, but it seems like they are very dependent on Luka. They are currently at the 6th spot, but an injury or a losing streak to the team will put them out of the playoff spot or even the play-in depending on the losing streak that they will get.

Do you guys think that Orlando Magic can make playoffs this Season? Or least play in tournament? They played well in their last game with the 76ers!
One game isn't enough for the team to judge.

This applies to the Magic. I don't see them going into the playoffs and besides, they are a young team. They might have some good achievements this season like defeating the  Sixers tonight and the only team that defeated the Celtics twice this season, but they will not enter the playoffs or even the play-in unless they will make a winning streak of maybe 10 or more.

Later, it's going to be Nets and Lakers without Lebron and AD.

The outcome of this game was quite predictable. The Lakers couldn't do anything without LeBron and Davis, and as a result, they lost to the Nets by 17 points. However, it should be noted that the Lakers played well in the second and third quarters, and it seemed like they could fight for the win at that point. Unfortunately, they ruined the game for themselves with a disgusting fourth-quarter performance.
It was really to be expected that it will be ending up like that. The game was full of explosion in the threes for the Nets.

Without AD and Lebron, they will really have a hard time but they it was so close! AD was too effective and can do a lot of things under the ring and of course, we know of Lebron.

They were really close with Nets on the 3rd quarter and thought it was their momentum. But then, when it's on the last quarter, everything turned black for the Lakers.

The 4th quarter was the difference maker, the Nets have control already and probably the undermanned Lakers got tired in the game. With Lebron and AD, I think the Lakers would win as they will be unstoppable inside and more unpredictable since they have good outside shooters already.

How many years this has happened back then? I can't remember this issue but I think I'm already watching NBA during that time as I know Tim Duncan and also the other stars in the Spurs.

That's what the fans are just waiting for but it seems that things won't go according to the process or is there really a process when a ref has been proven to have some slight miss of his duty?

Do you guys think that Orlando Magic can make playoffs this Season? Or least play in tournament? They played well in their last game with the 76ers!
They are not that far from the 8th rank of the Eastern conference which is the Atlanta Hawks. 5 games back, it is still reachable and we have lots of games remaining before the season ends. This is the reason why they are playing harder every game. I think they can reach the play-in tournament if they can keep this kind of energy especially defeating teams like 76ers or other strong teams.
After this one, it will 76ers again at the same arena, I doubt they will give it to them again, Embiid will make sure they will win this time.
But after that it may be an easy road, Timberwolves and Hornets. They better steal those games from them and then back at home with more energy against the Knicks.

Magic is a big surprise this season, they may not be consistent in winning but what's important is they are winning and beating good teams like the 76ers. Thing is, we only think they are a weak team because they are undervalued by the bookies making them heavy underdog in the betting odds.

That is true. Those who are courageous enough to take the risks at betting for them will find themselves a big winners today. I am not, I chose the 76ers over them even though I know Joel Embiid might not play, I should've taken that +10.5 for the Magic instead of the -9.5 for the 76ers.
Well, it's not new that they upset teams, it's just inconsistent. Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner are the only players there that are consistent enough to keep the game close even against opponents like the 76ers. But when someone stepped up his game on their bench like today Mo Wagner, they will have a higher chance to win.
They will always be the underdog except when their opponents are Houston, Spurs, and Pistons. I would probably try next time to bet for the Magic.

Good luck to you, Magic will be playing the 76ers again, just one day rest and they'll play again at the same venue. Not sure if Embiid will play but even if Embiid will play, Magic still has a chance to win, or if the 76ers will defeat them, at least they'll cover the spread because they have the momentum.
