Thanks again Heliox now i am using your low power rom, i replaced main parameters in my original roms with your settings and left other (like subvendor ID and .. ) unchanged also i left memory at 8 gb. now my cards (3 asus and 3 gigabyte) hash around 30.5, work around 70-80 C at 65% fan speed , gpuz shows between 90-100 watt. other parts asrock h81 btc 16 gb ram g 3220 1200 oc power
whole system drawn out 1150 at wall , i think i have should missed something because other report better power consumption. also wattman doesn't accept changes for power limit and or core freq.
I appropriate any help
You are pretty ok, gpu-z is unreliable. i.e. Testing my 470 OC STRIX: ATM: gpu-z: 85W. Killawatt: 150W ( 180W-system 30W ) To add: Almost same as my 480 OC STRIX... with 25% more hash. Only 470 produces significantly less heat. Yet to measure 480 reff with Elio's 29lowEn. rom ( working as a charm on 5 cards ) - everything 16.9.1 Win 10 ( also "as a charm" ).

I have found these: 480LowEnergyOK.rom RX480-30MhOTBLowEnergy.rom RX480-31.8HighPower.rom RX480Mod.rom Am i using the correct one for low power 480LowEnergyOK.rom? Can you tell me hashrate & gpu-z watt of the other? From my measurements 480LowEnergyOK.rom should be called 480_29mhash_85watt.rom I have not yet tested for hours so is this the correct rom for low power?
RX480-30MhOTBLowEnergy.rom gives me 30.6Mhs rock solid 24/7 on my ten 480 8Gb cards.

using 480LowEnergyOK.rom with 16.9.1 and CDM 7.0 mining at ethpool.org, running approx 2 days now - very stable holding 29MHs per GPU.
This 16.9.1 seems to be the life saver....
Your cards (I think you have Sapphires) held it well even with previous drivers. I'm trying to understand what causes the drop in hashrate of my XFX. This is why I asked akaloith about stability of hashing yes its steady for 10 hours. i tweaked the fan and the temperatures and now get a 72 C at 2500rpm. I have gigabyte reference but i believe all are same. maybe bad asic quality? check it on gpu-z. mine is 75% (not so good)

Are there any ROMs for the Sapphire Nitro+ 4GB RX 480? I tried the 480LowEnergyOK.rom and I get the error 'UVD not responding, trying to reset the VCPU!!!' Luckily there is a VBIOS switch I can flip EDIT: Also, any 4GB ROMs for the MSI RX 480?

Could you please specify in topic that it is for 8Gb card? Otherwise many people mistakenly try to flash 4G cards

A watt meter is able to report the power (delta) of the whole card: graphics chip, memory chips, VRMs, etc. Each memory chip probably consumes about 5W of power or so. These cards probably have 8 or 16 chips on them.

Hello,
i have an ASUS RX 480 (GPU Device Id: 0x1002 0x67DF 113-D0090101-100 67DFHB.15.50.0.0.AS01 (C) 1988-2010) Card with the BIOS Version: 2016-06-14 04:43:00 015.050.000.000.000000 PCI-E
When i try the modified BIOS, i get the Error "invalid Sub-ID".
Then i tried the modification (Memory Clock, etc.) with the Polaris Editor manuell, but then the System don't accept the Card. In Windows 10 the Card will be displayed with a problem, in my Linux the card won't detected. Has anybody an idea?
Thank you very much.
Best regards
Zimbo
