As I understand.. if I have 1BTC, there are two ways to act at the next distribution round in April:

1.) to keep 1BTC and collect 0.0625GB
2.) to buy 25GB (at current price of 0.04 GB/BTC) and collect 2.5GB

Is that right?

That's right.

Gave in last time
Bytes:
19,832.186424596 GB distributed. New available supply is 137,442.380452938 GB.
so the formula of 1 million=100,000 x (1+0,17)n
Every month 20,000 btc is added(on average)so the process will be accelerated even faster .8000 gigobayt is given for 130 000 bitcoins

Consider manually by a simple formula.

With the current distribution of all is 17 months.
See compound interest. In summary, under the current distribution, will be given to those who hold in bytes, not btc,and in several times, rather 5 times 1.117=5,05.That is, 75% of the distribution will be the owners of the bytes(5 times will get more dark byte), and only 25% owners btc, compound interest win

if you make a binding 260 000 bitcoins

866 170+86 620+16 000may            968 790
968790+31210 June 2018 end         1 000 000

under the current distribution will take 15 months.
1,114=3,8 .Approximately 55% will be the owners of bytes and 45% of the owners of bitcoins.
The result ,the lower the price, the less will tie bitcoin, the longer is the distribution and more bytes will get to their owners). That is, the bytes need to stay away from the big exchanges)

Very helpful ! Thanks

Yeah, I should better spend most of my bitcoin to buy Gbytes instead of trying to spawn byteball out of BTC-balance....

I did a fresh sync a day before the distribution and it took 4 hrs. YMMV

Why byteball is available on handful of exchanges? How can I take participation in free distribution.
I just check it's price and trends in coingeek and it seems interesting.

I don't have much time to watch things closely but are there any applications based on byteball (regulated assets, decentralized storage etc.)?
To me conditional payments are a great step forward and I hope devs will start looking into them

@dev: could you please put the in f-droid.
|
|
V
I checked F-droid but didn't change my decision to distribute APKs through google play exclusively.  The biggest merit of google play is auto-updates, which is absolutely required for security apps like this.  While you say you are prepared to go through the trouble of manual updating, most people aren't, and I don't want to encourage use of outdated software that might have critical security bugs.  Moxie Marlinspike had some fair criticisms about f-droid, which I totally agree with, and I believe, for this kind of apps, google is a lesser evil.

Why byteball is available on handful of exchanges? How can I take participation in free distribution.
I just check it's price and trends in coingeek and it seems interesting.

The desire for other / larger exchanges appears again and again. You can advance this wish:

Remember to vote for Byteball if you have an account on Novaexchange . We are at 101 of 250 votes required. You can vote daily.
Regards.

https://novaexchange.com/addcoin/

OR

However, the current status of the distribution does not yet allow a listing on big exchanges:
Only 137,000 GB (13.7% of the total quantity of 1 PByte = 1E15 bytes) was distributed. At constant boundary conditions (constant participation = grow of linked BTC ~10000, constant interest of already distributed bytes 10%), there will still be ~ 15 rounds. At Christmas 2017 about ~50% will be distributed. The next year around this time, it will be about 80 percent.

From my perspective, other exchanges (still) have no priority
1. cryptox does a good job
2. cryptox was there when we needed a market

New adopter should be happy about the fact that Byteball (yet) is not traded on a big exchange:
If byteball would be on a larger exchange, that would mean more attention. More interest / demand meets small supply -> price increases strongly - bad for new entrants / small investors.
It is counterproductive in three months to turn the thrust from zero to 120 percent. That ends with a lot of damage and a very hard landing.

I think the current underdog status is good for byteball and ensures sustainable development / growth.
The distribution model offers the chance that Byteball slowly grows into a strong capitalization. When the time is ripe, then it will automatically change. Wink

In other words, you are watching Part I -> This part is called "Episode I - The Force Awakens" Grin
