I looked at your website - the cost of your single blade is a half a bitcoin less than the cost of an Avalon mini...only difference is roughly 5.7-6X the hashing power.
in stock and shipping now:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=303640.0
Wow - you're still profiting of the stupidity of people not realising they will NEVER make 1.95 BTC with that crap.
Amazing.

CGminer dev or not...if you're stuck on mining btc only you yourself are acting like a dinosaur.

You need a comma in there somewhere because that sentence has two meanings.

1. CGminer dev or not...if you're stuck on mining btc, only you yourself are acting like a dinosaur. (talking about mining btc in general)
2. CGminer dev or not...if you're stuck on mining btc only, you yourself are acting like a dinosaur. (talking about mining btc as opposed to mining something else)

I think from frankenmints POV any personal mining is worthless, we should just be buying and selling BTC or using cloud mining in addition to Mining Bitcoin as long as possible then mining alt coins once you are seeing less than .01 BTC per diff change.

back to all 3 sats running 0.96, but they all hang around 275 now still  Smiley
same procedure on all 3 saturns...
1. flash 0.90 on the miner, reboot
2. flash enablecores.bin to the miner, POWER CYCLE the miner.
3. putty in and watch cgminer until it crashes, when it does, go to the gui page again, and flash 0.96 back onto the miner, apply, then POWER CYCLE the miner(turn off for 15 seconds via the power supply switch)
thats it.
i had 3 sats going at 255, 265, and 275....  now all at 270 - 275ish

THAAANNNK YOU VERY MUCH Phoenix. That was it. My slow 220gh/s saturn runs now at avg 275GH/s and my Jupiter at avg 555 GH/s. Both with the same firmware at the end and both with the same flashing steps.
But i have 1 difference
Jupiter with about 540 Watts and each VRM 35.6A - 40.1A. Boards with 8 VRMs
Saturn with about 430 Watts and each VRM 53.9A - 58.1A. Boards with 4 VRMs
The amps are really freaky....

you're 'overclockin' with pre-95 FW   (voltages run high, amps out over spec, but make ASIC jump hoops more for higher WU but higher HW error%...as you see, the 8 VRMs can handle it..)

Not gonna happen Tongue
I've already got hardware from other companies that I help (and am working on at the moment) so priority of that is way higher.
... and this time of year there is a whole bunch of music work I do also.
Not really interested in hardware, that the company who sells it tells me: thanks for your software - sucked in - bye bye.
... and of course as I have stated before, I don't do remote access support to solve the problems of hardware that I don't have and will not be getting.

You do get that all these firmware/hardware issues are of KFC's own choice right?
Back in July we were told that the testing was off the critical path and delayed until August when they would like our input then.
But then when we asked again at the end of July they ignored us until the "sucked in - bye bye"

Funny, my emails to KFC were very civil, I guess that was my mistake ...

I have noticed a change in KnC's attitude.  I'm thinking of getting a refund for November.  I have a feeling I am going to be battling that one.  Sam was such a nice person back in May.  (When I had money of course)  Now they all seem like a bunch of dicks.  They are probably just busy engineers but it sucks seeing how they don't really want to work with people anymore.

They seem to be pretty open to working with people still IMO.
I wouldn't pay too much attention to the troll(s).

(Not to say KnC is The Perfect Company, but they seem to be getting a lot of FUD and exaggerations...)

KANO...

I am willing to let you play with one of my saturns if that would help, I can provide you with the I.P & password.

I could not agree more, the least someone can do in return for your help is send you a sample unit.
Especially if they are not paying you anything.

They still might send a mercury.  It is possible their inventory is tight right now.

We shall see.  I stepped up and made an offer to help KNC with an issue that would be very helpful to them and their customers. I assume they are busy making units so we will see if they reply.

+1 Im starting to see a pattern of conceit among hero members.  I would rather use BFG modded fw over CG every day this year (with that said I felt like luke-jr was a little conceited too)  Thanks you two for the great sw and all - specifically the free factor, but acting egotistical doesn't help your cause at all.

looks like 2 saturns may run faster than a single jupiter....   or am I dreaming?

I bought 2 Saturns and just received this week. I'm pulling 272Gh/s avwrage from both on BTC.

for "each" or "both" ? If it is for both, then run enabled cores. It works like magic.

So is there a confirmed "safe" brand of PSU to go with, or just anything but Corsair?

I bought this for my Saturn. It is overkill, but I can run easily run two Saturn's on it with no problem. Did it yesterday when I received my deliveries. Both hashing over 250Gh/s each unit pulling down 300 watts. The power supply fan barely turned on to keep itself cool. I recommend this power supply anytime. I usually buy Seasonic models, but this one had such a good price,  is VERY quiet and very efficient so I went with it.

Did I miss something?  What is wrong with his PSU?  This thread is moving too fast.

KNC is claiming that Corsair (one of the most trusted enthusiast brands) "ramps up current too quickly" and that is why a mining board (powered by Corsair PSU) blew a capacitor.  Of course the fact that a high current switching supply SHOULD operate that way should be ignored.  The obvious explanation is that Corsair doesn't know how to build power supplies.

I don't believe this at all. I have an electrical meter connected to my power supply so I cam see volts/amps/watts. My Saturn starts off at 20 watts then slowly raises higher and higher until full hashing speeds and max's out around 297 Watts. The power supply isn't going to "push" more or extra amps into by itself...it's the draw of the electronics that I would assume controls that.
