That is completely wrong, it's not gambling who destroy lives but gambling addiction which lead to losing more than you can afford to lose is the main reason. You cannot blame gambling at any point as there are still gamblers who do it just for fun, they may lose but since they are responsible, they can still continue in their lives and let go of the loses.

I personally quit gambling after a long run and after I sit down with myself and realized that it won’t get me anywhere and I can’t build a life around gambling even if it gives me easy money from time to time.

I realized that working hard is far more satisfying than gambling for the money, and the money I earn form gambling gets spend fast and without caring where it goes unlike the money I earn with hard work.

i think gambling is not destroying the life of all the people who play gambling. it can destroy the life of senseless people. those people who do not have any sense and who even lose their children school fee in gambling. but those people who play gambling in a limit and those people who have good planing and strategy so for such people gambling is not a sham and they play gambling proudly.

but not an addicted one and even if I become a gambling addict I think I can control myself from

i think they feels shameful if other people know what they are doing in daily and i think they don't want to talk about their habit and they better to not telling anything about their activity. for some people, being a gambler its a dark secret in their life and they don't want other people to know and they will remain in silence.

Greed is not something an average person should have, BUT everyone has it especially when it's for their own benefit. We shouldn't be ashamed if something you do is right. You are ashamed because you know you are getting addicted to something and you're not doing anything about it. It's all right to play using your money, not other peoples money. In many cultures and countries is gambling consider as a bad thing which only the poorest and silliest ones do. Many gamblers try to hide that they gamble from their friends and families and feel really shameful for that. Do you consider gambling as a bad thing? Do you feel shameful or proud for being a gambler? If it is shame what you feel what do you about it? How do you hide you're a gambler and who do you hide it from?

I think that would be depend on the gambler, as long as your not doing any bad things there's no reason to be a shame of. especially, if you are just doing it for entertainment only what is shameful of that  matter, of course nothing. isn't right?
