This is the Lifeboat Foundation's updated application.  It will work on Windows with the current Radeon drivers if you trust them enough to run it.

Oh thank you OgNasty am now at 46 - 48 MKey/s (had installed down to 10.8 I think it was, but that didn't fix issues, updated the drivers to the latest and am in 64 bit mode (no real difference from non 64 mode, but will use because it's there.

Been running oclvanitygen for around 3-4 hours now. trying to get an address with 6 chosen characters.

Any idea how long this would take? i'm running at around 50Mkey/s

My two Radon R9 200 / HD 7900 cards have a combined 46MKeys/sec and found a seven after ninety minutes.  I had to restart and found the same seven prefix in four hours (but a different seven prefix in about an hour).  Am going to run it all weekend to celebrate - it's the first time I've been able to run at it's full potential.

Create a file containing many prefixes you would like and use it with the -f option.  Its a more efficient use of your card(s).

I had to update the AMD driver's again the other day when I posted this, then use the OgNasty variant and I'm in business.

I'm going to post here and ask for information I can probably find in the topic, but I'm not yet done reading the 130 pages

Where do I download oclvanitygen? Google doesn't really help me, and the one download I found looked like a shady website.
I'm running Ubuntu Linux, and get around 200-300 kKeys/s out of my CPUs (depending on system load).There's one 6 digit address I'd love to find, but it takes 30 days for 50% chance, and once I find this, I'll come up with other wishes.

I'd love to use my GPU (03:00.0 3D controller: NVIDIA Corporation GM108M [GeForce 840M] (rev a2) and hope to get much better performance that way.

Can someone send me in the right direction to get this to work?
I feel stupid now. All the time searching for oclvanitygen I couldn't find it, I type just "download vanitygen" in Google and it gives me https://github.com/samr7/vanitygen ... Turns out I had it all along, it just didn't compile.
I'll play around and report performance here if I get it to work.

Depending on the distro the location of that library will be different.
If you do have the library a simple symbolic link may be all that you need
for vanitygens build machinery to find it.

Okay this did the trick to compile: I installed "ocl-icd-opencl-dev". It did have to remove one Nvidia-driver though, but after this, compile worked fine.
Next problem is getting this to work.

If person A wants me to search for a vanity address for him, but I would also like to search for vanity addresses for n other people simultaneously, the result that I find, with which person A can generate his desired vanity address, is only usable to person A if he has a certain piece of information from all these n other people?

 You don't have it right.  Person A gives you a key which you use in the generation of A's address.  You can only do A's address unless the n other people want to share A's key (N.B. they do not).  Now only A will have the private key.
