@IndianaCoinPattern: 1SPaLBTC Address: 1sPaLBTCjqNqNSzfdGEoRbCuk8HwtApi5 Am sending the private part via PM. Enjoy. Regards. I found a few (6 IIRC) from their wishlist over night. Was a lucky run as 50% should have taken ~2.9 hours and it did run for ~7 hours. That took a full 8+ hours (probably closer to 9 hours) at ~18MKey/s to get to about 55% (Plus the 50.1% before I had to stop made it a full 100% duration with the -i switch (yeh, yeh second 55% luck not related to the first...) *edit* Might try another with two cards running as singles and see what results I get... What results did you get?

I took the -i out and ten minutes later Pattern: 1Sammy Address: 1SammyYj5WVFQjnVAzaWtrFGaAzn1C6qp So I can't say it wasn;t luck or random or something that time.

i tried to generate a vanity addy and after i imported it in BLOCKCHAIN ..but the private key i imported is not really pricate as i am taking it from the vanitygen website ? am i wrong ? There is no "vanitygen website", so you might want to clarify that. In terms of blockchain.info and private keys, they use an encryption scheme where they shouldn't actually ever have your private keys directly. However, this does come with a level of trust - trust that their javascript hasn't been messed with, for example (they offer a browser extension as a way of keeping that separate, for the slightly more paranoid) - as it does with any wallet service (websites and executable binaries alike). Unless you want to use the address in a transaction, you can always add it as a "watch only" address in blockchain.info .

Run vanitygen with this command: vanitygen 1Boat Eventually, you get something like this: Difficulty: 4476342 Pattern: 1Boat Address: 1BoatSLRHtKNngkdXEeobR76b53LETtpyT Privkey: 5J4XJRyLVgzbXEgh8VNi4qovLzxRftzMd8a18KkdXv4EqAwX3tS The line starting 5J4X... is the one you are trying to import.

Waiting for the next ones Had you read the forum page, you would have seen which key it was... I've now got a solution to Pattern: 1Soumya Address: 1Soumya3VJ7yCWUmgRCAN8HG5zALaJYbQ But am thinking a little bit of appreciation goes a long way...

Well that's not quite a vanitygen website, but rather the vanity pool Which is why I figured they should clarify, in case they got their vanity from some site that doesn't use split key (as appears to be the case), etc.

i got a Pv.. key and i dont know how it is private if i get it from some other website.? Right, so in this case - it's not. The service may have the private key as well, which means that any funds you put in the vanity address could be 'stolen' by that service. You should only use third party services if they support split key vanity generation, and then only if you can provide your own public key part. There are some details missing here. You need to look into the split-key method for getting someone else to generate you a private key part which doesn't reveal to them the entire private key and which they can share with you in such a way that you can recombine it with your pubkey and private key part. Basically, you'll need to do a few more steps in order to make sure that you can get a private key which no one else knows.

I'm new to this...
What is that 50% in xx time for when generating an address??
it means you'll reach a 50% chance of having your address generated in xx time. for example if it says 50% in 2hours that means your address should take around 4 hours and youll have a 50% chance of having your address in 2hours

Same as mining there is no progress you can make towards the address you are looking for. It just gets increasingly unlikely to not find a solution.
