I used to favour this coin - but like slyA I too think the premine not being fully disclosed and the devs not showing anymore interest here is dooming the coin.
Blaming people that it is their responsibility to keep the coin alive does not hold. People are not prepared to put in an effort if they are not rewarded in cash and rightfully so.
If you develop a product it is your responsibility to keep it alive with your ideas and vision to keep it attractive if you want people to buy into it - it is not the other way around.
To blame your own lack of sustainability on the community not doing enough is hurting the coin.

I think EAC needs a mixture between new Ideas and interest by the devs in the Coin and Community
AND
New Ideas and much support by the Community.

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

All the buyers thinking they can get EAC for cheaper by waiting, all the sellers who are panicing. Such a vicious cycle.

Let me know if I am doing something right. Smiley

I've personally posted a ton in reddit and worked with Sprocket to get a tipbot going (and we've paid him a bounty via a tip using the bot.

You can see Wes recently gave him a decent tip here: http://www.reddit.com/r/Earthcoin/comments/1xiayi/new_reddit_earthtipbot_made_by_usprocket_test_it/cfqihhn

Personally, I think a lot of the strategy/planning etc for the community should be on reddit (for more visibility, threaded conversations, and ability to upvote ideas) but a lot of the feedback I've received so far seems like people want to keep strategy and planning on Earthcointalk.

Thoughts?

Well assuming you have an active community there i think its nice to keep it "in house" so to speak. But i think the concept is you can append to a whole other audience over at reddit than you can here, or on earthcointalk.  Perhaps a mixture of both. Having reddit links to the forums, but still posting non critical things on reddit.

That is pretty much how things have been working currently. Reddit/FB/Twitter posting the highlights.

Yeah, i tried to use earthcointalk, and the site is quite pleasant to use... I always found i was waiting days in some cases between posts.  Thats my only negative view on using it as the primary discussion place.  I do like the reward aspect of Earthcointalk its quite nice, getting EAC for posts, or even logging in!

I messaged the main devs last night with my updates but I figured I'd just post it in the thread. The android wallet is pretty much to the point of being ready

I'l still working on added an rss feed but everything else seems to be working well.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/wfdgqr2zzjzt8jb/wallet-1.01.1.apk

for anyone who wishes to do some testing before its officially released.

please PM me with any issues you might see especially any one who tries to send a transaction comment in another language. There was a bug there that I believe I've fixed but  I have no good way to test.

If it spiked like it did in november but upto $2000 then leveled off we'd see a resurgence in alts.

Until then its probably only going to be either good news from the devs or pumpers and dumper groups im afraid.

I don't believe in good news .... the silence by the devs will go on ....
