Regarding the premine. If you were to look at it as a "pending debt" you would end up in a similar situation as the US dollar where the US needs to lift their reserves to not go for a nation wide bankrupt. So why do we still hold value to the US dollar?

P.s.
An open ledger is not a key to success for sure. If you still believe that an open ledger will save any coin, try and explain what is happening to NobleCoin. They have an open ledger but it has not helped them so far...

But the dollar is backed by the military and oil, ie the petro-dollar, its in the interest of the international community to keep the dollar stable because everything is priced in dollars, without the dollar being the world reserve currency and with them printing as much as they are now, it would be hard to see the dollar being much better than other currency's experiencing high inflation right now.

As to Noblecoin, they haven't had the same coverage, and the name isn't as good, the name of this coin gave it half of its community off the bat.  The public ledger just gives confidence for investors to invest in the coin.

Are you sure about those things regarding the US dollar? Their debt is only increasing while their oil and economy is not keeping up or even decreasing. The fiscal cliff they have is going to happen. The only question which I am focussing at is: "when?".
And regarding the coin being backed up by government, if you look at it from the following perspective you should be worried:
When a government is backing a currency, this also means that a currency can grow out of proportion as there is too much at stake. So when that same currency will fall, the government an its structure will be dragged along. It will turn out into a wild west for valuable goods meaning that the rest of the world will be ruled by greed.
And no i do not believe that we, as people in general, are not smart enough to avoid it.

Well its not just US oil thats priced in dollars is it, 90% of all oil is.  But yeah I agree, everyone's know for a while that the dollar in its current state has passed its sell by date, incapable of changing direction through poor leadership, its worse than a house of cards at this point, held together by printing.  Its only a matter of time before we see a huge collapse and the tyranny and war that will follow.  Why do you think the police in the US are becoming more militarised, department of homeland security etc. who pretty much have tanks now, they are preparing for civil unrest on a massive scale, its just a matter of time.

Its well funny watching this thread now... weeks and weeks ago we were going on about the premine asking where it was and how much was left.  I was attacked by the then EAC defense force for even asking, people saying stuff like "shut the fuck up about the premine" and "it doesn't matter", now everyone's at it lmao.  Where is that syLA or whatever his name when you need him lol.  Wes always comes on and says nothing reassuring too "Unfortunately the tasks get muddied from people wasting time and effort chatting about a premine that is now statistically insignificant." - does this mean most of it is gone or what?

You can relax more if you just write off the investment, at least for now, and put it down to experience.  I can tell you i probably lost more than most about 5 btc.  Well its just lucky i made about 30btc of AUR.  You win some you loose some, after all, this is basically gambling is it not?... Its a lesson learnt for everyone.  Just dont invest in premine coins, especially ones without a public ledger.  And yeah AUR is a 50% premine coin, given to all the citizens of Iceland, but it still has a public ledger.  I'm gutted i sold all my AUR too, i would have made 50btc selling at the top @ 0.16.

Anyway it would just be nice to have clarity on this coin, so people can move forward and maybe rebuild earthcoin to something new, there are people doing alot of good work on it.  And although this would be all but impossible, imagine if we could fork EAC and turn that 13.5billion coins into something like a 60% premine and somehow distribute the coins, 1 each to every person on the planet, that would boost its value massively.  You'll soon be seeing alot of coins like AUR that have large premines but distribute them to the citizens certain country's, seems to be the new model that works.

I hope this coin becomes something big one day, a the minute things are looking extremely grim.

Lol,  I took a moment to step back and watch how it all plays out. I received both nasty PMs and encouraging ones. After being told to shut the fuck up about the premine, I washed my hands off EAC. Glad to see the devs still doing the same shit. earthcoin just came that one day when I challenged him and EAC and has slunk back into the shadows. The coin is still free falling. The premine has not been used for 1/10th of what it was meant for.

I don't blame them though. I know how one could grow attached to the "mission" behind a coin and not a coin itself. Unfortunately, EAC suffered from dumping miners and a hefty premine coupled with absentee devs. It happens. Time to move on.

I just bought 960,000EAC at market price and gave them to ATXsilver via Earthazaar for 16 Silver Dollars... I am loving EAC!!!

If I lived in Boston, I would be eat at TwentyGotoTen's joint a couple of times a week... for sure!!!

EAC is cheap, but far from dead. I would say, it is just finely coming to life.

Sadly it is only going downwards - and we all thought that 100 was the lowest point for EAC. Well we all thought wrong - 25 and counting. And yes I am mad for being stupid to believe all these wage words from the dev team. I also was with it from day 3 and lost about 6 BTC. Well a good lesson to be learnt. I am sorry, but I cannot afford to back a coin that is going down and down and you don't see an end in sight (ahh yes - 1 sat.). I don't have unlimited amount of money to back it for years to come and hope one day it will be worth something. My goal were the next few months, but it just went downhill.

Far from death with a volume of 14,5 BTC   Roll Eyes

I have been pretty much away from the crypto scene since the New Year... just did enough to keep my mining farm busy... this is the first time I have a chance to really have a good look...

Digitalcoin - 8.6BTC
TAG - 5.3BTC
Feathercoin - 16.1BTC
Anoncoin - 15.2BTC
Goldcoin - 1.21BTC
Lottocoin - 9.1BTC
NXT - 19.5BTC
Infintecoin - 10.5BTC
Worldcoin - 46.4BTC

I know that is just Cryptsy and everyone wants to hate Cryptsy... but these coins were all up near or over a 100BTC a day in volume when I last checked in January... the only coins with volume are the new coins.

EAC is not dead... the community has not died yet.

And to be honest from the general state of crypto... EAC could be doing much, much worse.

I have watched my EAC horde reduce from over 10BTC less than 1BTC... so I am in the same position as everyone else.

But I am happier with where EAC is now than when I left in January. I can buy things with EAC... I really do not care that much about price... it goes up and down and mostly down of late... but I don't want to buy BTC with my EAC... I want to buy stuff... and now I can... and that is a good thing.

Hi slyA

It was a combination of your posts and, the MtGox debacle that forced me to stop ignoring what was staring back at me, in front of my face.

I suppose I am what you term a "BagHolder" I normally post on earthcointalk here is my latest thread, and

probably the final one on that site https://earthcointalk.org/forums/topic/the-emperors-new-clothes/

You are a lot more passionate about how you expressed your concerns than me,

that is not meant as criticism, it just means that I can swallow a bit more shit than you, but after I realise that it is shit

that I am being fed... well duck.

I believe I can read through the expletives, and you appear to be a good guy like most people

and we appear to have been burnt,  it  also appears from what I can initially understand, that

you have every right to SHOUT I TOLD YOU SO

But bruv.... kicking another when he is down is not really on  Wink chil with that, I understand  Cool,  and as you well know

to move on as you put it is not so easy when you believe you have been fucked over, as evidenced by

the fact that you still read and post on this thread  Grin I'm joking as well.. a bit of brevity in the circumstances, it's all love and peace

from me.

At the moment it is crystal clear that the main characters and usual suspects in this "alleged"

fisaco "and I use the term fiasco lightly" appear to be the following listed below;

John or John Carr -Dev Team Leader

Norb- Branding/design/PR

Wesley-Communications/ Big Picture/FundManager

And I say to the above I have listened, read, watched, swallowed, and now digested...burp.. I and the fractured

community or fellow bag holders including parties still committed to the future of Earthcoin "if any" require some answers now.

Stop with the mysterious BS...."I am in the shadows developing the new Viagra",....... right now I and

many others.. are not concerned with that crap, I know for certain that you read this thread, if not you... then your front-man

who appears to be..... double speak WES.

There have been some eloquent posts in this thread seeking answers to simple questions, and these posts have been very fair

and courteous, the fact that it appears that you do not even have the common decency to respond to them speaks volumes, indeed if you

have chosen to ignore them or are afraid to face the community due to security issues, at least instruct your front-man who appears to be

WES Mr Big Picture, to post a Legal Statement that addresses the concerns of many people with unambiguous answers, lets  stop with the

FUD.

From my personal perspective, any money I invested and completely lost if that is the case is... superseded by the poor starving child

or destitute individual that it was intended to HELP.

At this moment  I have given the three of you.. the benefit of doubt that you are not the scum buckets that many believe you are, no

matter what my skin and heart is telling me.

I am not somebody that screams and shouts loudly, I walk softly.

EAC is 27 Satoshi. But why??

I'd say...

1) MtGox
2) Dev secrecy and general unresponsiveness
3) Unresolved premine issues
4) Disenfranchised community
5) 50% of miners hoarding a the start, about 90% are dumping now
6) Hardly any buyers
7) Market being flooded with new coins

EAC is 27 Satoshi. But why??

Pretty simple... there is more supply than demand... 90% of the folks posting here already own as much EAC as they ever wanted to own or more... there is really nothing to do with EAC except buy BTC... even if you donate to a charity... the EAC ends up buying BTC at some exchange to exchange for fiat... really simple.

I have managed to catch-up on all the posts here... as for the fuss with the dev team... sack them... if they were working the farm... they would have gotten their walking papers weeks ago... I do not know what they are doing... but it is not much. Sorry... but go have a good look at NobleCoin or DopeCoin... there is a dev team that is actually developing a coin. Not hinting, pretending or doing some secret squirrel stuff behind the scenes. Plus who needs the dev team, does the almighty BitCoin need the mysterious Satoshi Nakmoto or whoever he or she may have been... no... BitCoin has had more forward movement since the dev left then while he was here. So get on with it.

As for the premine... get over it... and get on with it... BitCoin has become the premier crypto-currency with a the mysterious dev holding enough coin to sink through bottom of the charts if he chose to... if the dev team want to pretend they are something special and be all mysterious and security minded... well... let them live in their sheltered workshop.

Basically it is time for folks in the community to get on with it or leave... the train has left the station.

that is my 2EAC!!!

Edit - the price is no longer 27... I just put another buy order in for 600k at 28... I was/am the high bidder and my order is nearly filled... people are selling... so it must be worth 28 to them....<shrugs>

Yes, finally people are talking & accepting Cheesy
Today is the first time in a long time am happy reading this thread, sure eac is down to around 25sat but i do not care about that. Eac should be about trade & reaching new people in my opinion.

For now it is not easy to start quoting because just read a lot of posts that made me smile. Let it go to <10sat so we can shake off the investor & speculators and start talking about building!

@Cryptozark
Missed your post but maybe i can contribute to the (back-end) service development part. Just know i can't do anything alone and learnt a long time ago that just start to program without direction is a waist of time. Maybe some people with each there own unique skill set can get together and find a quiet internet corner somewhere to start planning and crossing of the needed individual parts.

I really like Earthcoin and believe in it, it has nice community and vision. Cryptos are young and there is lot of work to be done for every single currency, if they want the long-term success. And it seems the Eac devs and you other are interested and working on it. I appreciate!
One question: how can switch-pool like [Suspicious link removed] discover 11 blocks in 4 minutes, when there is a 1 block retarget? Could someone explain?  Huh
