I'm done with this crappy pool and its "consistently" bad luck. Had always pointed a few ants here and previously PPS used to compensate for the "7 years of bad luck" spells ... Ghash.io is now my goto pool with eligius as a backup. Next difficulty will be up another 15-20% and can't for few more months for this to turn around.

Approximate Pool Luck* (24H / 3D / 1W / 2W / 1M): 62.048% / 73.438% / 81.512% / 91.078% / 96.360%

Good luck to you all

Yes, how dare this pool have bad luck for once.  "Consistently" bad luck my ass.  The pool was positive for almost 7 months straight.  This is THE FIRST MONTH the 1-month period has had bad luck since it was tracked beyond difficulty boundaries back in September.

There are no guarantees anywhere. Its true that we haven't found too many blocks but it could all change in the next few days and we'll average out. Mining is a long term game not a hop here, hop there thing... just IMO

It's a fine pool and it's rock solid as far as uptime.

The only thing that I'm a little sore about is being dumped into the crappy end of the pool during a run of bad luck with no notice.

Here I thought I was hashing along fine the last few days, only to login after the weekend to find my earnings on a portion of my farm is in the dumper...and it's the portion that I use to stabilize variance.

Shrug.  I'll get over it.   Other than the lack of notice.  It's great pool and one of the few that I do trust.

I don't really see how your hash rate determines your  pps/pplns options, only thing that would count is if you were on 24/7 or on/off during the day. On/Off pps is the way to go seeing pplns takes time to build up shifts to get paid.

Also EMC when i was on it, had min payout .02 for auto payout and constant pool hopping from there servers finally moving to Eu server to stay connected and the UI had problems showing 0 hash rate even though bfg miner was showing accept shares, oh and the fixed min diff rate  it was 10 diff or something no matter what miner i was using, just what ever you do DO NOT USE DGM on EMC.

Good or bad I'm here to stay as much as the current luck makes me want to cry.

I have my rigs split across pools to minimize variance.

If some one wants to leave the pool thats fine.

If they want to blow out a rant on the way out the door, that's fine too!!

Roll my eyes, turn my head back to what I was doing before they interupted my day.

I choose to have a good day!

     You can too!

I could do that too, I have in my avalon in order...

1) BTCGuild
2) Ghash
3) BitMinter

If I split they'd each get about 60Gh/s

To be decided...

O.k. I have a question about how the BTC Earnings Balance updates in the Dashboard. I understand that open shifts continue to recieve earnings until they are closed. The account balance seems to update shortly after each shift close. Does the account balance as it shows in the top Left of the Dashboard include"known" earnings for open shifts or strictly earnings that have accumulated in "closed shifts only", or does it update when each block is found?

So now I am trying to figure out how the PPLNS charts work. Maybe this isn't a fair comparison but it looks like a shift needs to achieve 11 blocks before it closes to equal what PPS "was" paying per share? Good Lord, thats alot!
I reckon 10 to 11 per closed shift is about right.  And while you may say it's a lot, you'll find that right now the last 10 closed shifts are between 10 and 14.  I'd say that luck is ticking back up again. Smiley  Of course, we could wake up tomorrow and find some of those awful 3 block shifts - such is variance.  Even with the awful run we've had of late the 3 month average hasn't dipped below 100% yet.  It's tough to deal with the lack of consistency at times and the wild swings of late, but that's the nature of the beast.

The Account Balance updates as soon as a block is found and the server divvies it up.
