How to withdraw the exact Bitcoin balance on BTCGuild without the dust round-off?

Links to prior convo are welcome.

Manual payouts are full precision to the last satoshi.  Only automatic payouts are cut off after to 0.0x amounts.

So if I have auto payout set to 0.1 and I have a balance of lets say 0.12456257 Then it only send the 0.1 and no the full amount ?

If I'm understanding you right.

Correct.  Automatic payouts are (obviously) designed assuming you're continuing to mine.  As such, filling your wallet with unspendably small amounts makes no sense for the user (it will eventually cause you to pay extra tx fees).

Manual payouts are there for users who want full withdrawals, or users who want to leave the pool, allowing them to have a complete liquidation of their balance.

Support -> How Am I Paid?  covers both withdrawal methods.

Re. Red txt: That much I understand, like say cashing out a lot on something like 0.00003443, but if your always cashing out on something like 0.1xxxxxxx then I don't see why the extras wouldnt be included since it counts as a large payment still. In any event, not tryin to argue anything by any means.

Just an observational curiosity.

Eventually those little pieces are going to separate from "usable" Bitcoin amounts when you spend your BTC on something.  This wouldn't affect people who just cash their entire balance out to an exchange, but anybody who actually USES Bitcoin is unlikely to be spending amounts under 0.0000x.  Some sites might go all the way to satoshis, but that is pretty rare (outside of gambling sites).

Over time, you can attempt to consolidate those little dust outputs by sending them along with larger amounts to attempt to avoid fees, but all that does is bloat the blockchain even more than it already is.

The pool offers users the choice of convenience (auto payouts) or precision (manual payouts).  I do not want the pool to make contributing to blockchain bloat part of the convenient option.

I noticed that switching from pplns to pps and vice versa is causing some problems on the site.  I would get the message: "There was an error updating at least 1 Stratum server. Please try again."

Put something in my tip jar if I made your day. Smiley

Swap back and forth if this happens until the error doesn't show up.  It shouldn't happen for very long if it happens at all, it's when the frontend server is unable to access the validation server, generally it's very brief unless there's an attack hitting the validation server.

Woot, jut finished coding a signature to show BTC Guild pool & user stats !

All figures are auto updating !

Questions, comments, thoughts ?

Edit: If anyone else is interested in getting a sig like mine to display your BTCG stats please PM me to get the address you need to send the funds to, the cost is BTC 0.01 for each user name / api key.

Once your payment shows up in my wallet I will PM you back usually inside of 30mins with the link to your signature. Some might say asking BTC 0.01 ($10) is too much or whatever for something so simple. Two things you have to keep in mind though is the work that went in to the code to create these signatures and the fact that everything is hosted on my own cloud VPS using resources that I pay for on a monthly basis

Edit 2: Hey Elu, sent you a PM... need small favor, Ty.

To be decided...

I am new at BTC Guild and get no payouts since 3 blocks.

Is this normal from time to time or is there any problem around?

I'm assuming you mean 3 shifts, not 3 blocks...shifts only update with payments when blocks are solved.  Since shifts only last 40 minutes, and block solves can take anywhere from 1 second to 3-4 hours, it's not unusual for 2-3 shifts to have 0 blocks paid when they're at the top of the Open Shifts section.  That is why there is a large BOLD NOTICE stating this exact fact.

By default I believe it is EST, but it adjusts to your local time zone if you set one in the settings.

The luck graph only reflects closed shifts since it can't measure luck from a shift that is not done getting paid.  Its generally one shift behind the most recently closed.

There's been a reasonable bump (2.5 billion -> 3 billion) in the length of shifts due to the recent growth in overall pool hash rate pushing shifts below the 40 minute mark.

For those who still don't understand PPLNS:  Shift length has NO effect on your overall payout.  It's purely a way to do the accounting and smooth out variance over a short period of time.  In a 24 hour window, the length of shifts has NO effect on your payout, that's purely based on pool luck.

Yeah I also had a weird "DNS server not responding" error overnight so my hashing dropped off the proverbial cliff  Undecided

It looked like I was going to have to mess around with internet protocol version properties, but thankfully everything seemed to go back to normal after rebooting the wireless modem. Still haven't mastered rebooting in my sleep though, but in some ways it's better knowing that 'luck hasn't been a lady' while my miners couldn't connect to the pool.

Oh well, today will be a better day.

It's just bad luck, not like we haven't been due for some of it for months now.  Hell, our 1-week average is still 105%.

However, the new shares per shift number will bring the # of blocks per shift to ~14 for neutral luck once all 10 open shifts are at 3 billion shares each.
