I believe Dustin Poirier have better chance to win in this fight and bookmakers are giving him slight advantage, but McGregor will not give up so fast, or I hope so.
Nobody really wants to see him crying again like in some of his previous fights, and he is talking all about spending and earning money, not really inspiring at all.
Connor is back again with his mind games but I think that Dustin is much more mentally strong this time.

Previously, when Conor McGregor fights, there several pages of discussions here, but now I see that people discuss Cyril Gane and his next fight. No one is interested in Conor anymore? I think if he looses, then that is it with him. He will end his career.

I think the hype has shifted, I guess they are not interested in Connor McGregor fighting Poirier, from their previous fight Dustin Poirier really win that match, Poirier was very smart during that fight and if McGregor will not notice this and would fight the same way as he did in their last fight.

Those odds on Cyril Gane are bollocks and I will gladly take a small bet on Derrick Lewis, man has big heart and I think he will be much more heavy than Gane.

I really think that odds are legit, the Hype is on, But I should say Lewis really is heavy I think his weight will surely add to his durability and because Bon gaming doesn't have any power in his punches this fight could go the long way.

^  It’s a main event that nobody really wants to see right now.  What should happen is Poirier challenges for the belt and fights Chandler, Gaethje and maybe even Ferguson.  But no...  We’re given a trilogy nobody’s really excited about.

And the undercard is kinda underwhelming at first glance.  But looking at it again, there’s some good match ups in there.  Price vs Pereira, Condit vs Griffin, Hall vs Topuria could be closer than what the line is showing..  And Thompson vs Burns should be good.  I really think Burns could rock Thompson.

Ferg is ded tbh, and I mean that as in he has 3 in a row and is nowhere near to be a top contender atm, Chandler just lost a title fight so he goes back to the start (I admit, he looked damn good tho), and Gathjes last fight was a title fight loss, so the only thing that would really make sense here is Dustin vs Chalie Olivs, but after that, it's really not a great selection at the moment. I get your sentiment, it just seems that the trilogy could resolve some things in the division, and I hate to say it, especially if Conor wins.

Sorry typo...  What I meant to say was Poirier fights Oliveira for the title and Conor fights Chandler, Gaethje or yes, a diminished Ferguson as a tune up fight.  Kinda like they did with McGregor vs Cerrone.

Anyway.  I’m curious what everyone’s thoughts are on Burns vs Thompson.  Leaning Burns just because there’s value in his line but I could see it go Thomspon’s way too.  And Burns just got TKO’d by Usman just 5 months ago so that chin might not be 100%.

I have always been more of a boxing fan than a UFC fan but I have watched sometimes when big names are fighting. I am that casual fan that turns up whenever Mcgregor fights but this time out I am going to make an effort to watch all the fights before the main card. Anyone you guys recommend betting on? I have read up that o'malley is the one to bet on if you want a guaranteed pay day. I did see Gilbert Burns fight Usman a little bit ago and I thought he looked good until he got knocked out so I think I will be putting a bet on him for the more dedicated fans what do you think about Burns?

We all have different wants and perspective and just like you have said you truly like boxing much than UFC, and just like you I am watching boxing as well but I am not 100% a boxing fan but I still love a good fight when a fighter looks really technical in his fighting technique and with the UFC event now I can only suggest now is to look for Ryan Hall fight but I don't know if he is enjoyable to watch for you because I really want a fighter with unique fighting style, and wrestling is a thing in UFC and not like in boxing this is boring to some but for me it has an epic feel when one can take down his opponent to the ground,

My take on O'Malley, I really never a fan of O'Malley that fight with Marlon Vera was really the most notable for me on Vera's part O'Malley never admits that he lost to Vera where 100% he did lose I guess O'Malley will never grows up as a fighter when he doesn't admit a good beating that he take but I will think about betting on him this time,

And in Gilbert Burns part, maybe he can win but I will surely check on Stephen Thompson first.

aha, ok, yes, that makes more sense, that would maybe shift things around in the division. With Ferg seemingly out of the picture, I don't mind Conor being in the top five kinda shuffling things around. The division has a good chance of dying out if something does not move.

^  Yup.  155 has become slightly uninteresting after Khabib retired.  They should get some new blood in the top 10.  I currently have my eye on Rafael Fiziev.  Go watch his past wins in the UFC at MMA Core.

Anyway, McGregor doesn’t seem to have much media exposure.  There wasn’t any new footage of him in Countdown and totally nothing in the first three episodes of Embedded.  I wonder what he’s up to.  Lol.

I'm hoping hes actually hard at work, and taking this seriously. At least, if hes taking it seriously we can't be to critical of him. The fact that we as fans were so critical of him last time, was because he didn't seem to have the edge that he normally does. Maybe, its just the fans in us that want to see Mcgregor win, but I believe he has had a mentality shift the last few years, and hasn't been as hungry. He most certainly hasn't been as active as he once was.

I'm probably going for a Poirier win, but I do want Conor to win. If Conor wins, and he remains active the 155 division starts to become the most interesting division once again. Without Conor, and Khabib the division becomes somewhat stale. Of course, there's other good fighters in the division, and its still a very competitive division, but it loses some of that magic that fighters like Conor bring, and bring out of other people like Khabib.

^  I kinda feel the same just so 155 becomes more interesting again.  Grin  But it’s going to be more of the same imho.  Poirier is the more improved fighter..  McGregor is more of the same and hasn’t really showed us anything new in the cage.  I want to be proven wrong tho.

Maybe I am wrong but I think that public is a bit saturated with McGregor and they want some fresh blood now, but things can turn out quickly for him if he wins in this fight.
Maybe I am wrong but I don't thinks he can fight on top level now and my prediction is going on Poirier who I believe is now more complete fighter.
One thing is that I don't notice much hype around this fight, and I am more interested to see Greg Hardy vs Tai Tuivasa.

So...  McGregor turned up in Las Vegas and showed up for the poster signing.  Check out how he’s signing them.  Lmao.  He’s practically saying ‘fook these posters’.  Cheesy

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IaLeNHGj71E

I don’t think he’s really that motivated to fight Poirier for the third time...

Edit:  And here’s the Multi Master Chellenge for 264.  Let’s win those free bets!  Smiley

UFC 264

Dustin Poirier VS Conor McGregor

I think Dustin Poirier after losing to McGregor in their first match has dedicated himself to building and enhanced his techniques more, and being a star now in the UFC I really think even McGregor lose to him Conor McGregor doesn't need to be ashamed of it because Poirier is improving so much to the point he has the strong leg kick in this division right now, this is going to be a striking match I think McGregor is pretty good at boxing but Dustin Poirier is pretty good at close range combat, If McGregor would not think that out and focus with his kicks for me Dustin Poirier will win this, In stake.com Poirier is the bookies favorite with 1.81 odds and 2.14 for McGregor.

Ryan Hall VS Ilia Topuria

This is a pretty interesting fight, in my opinion, Ryan Hall is returning to UFC, and he is pretty good at his ju-jitsu that the fight might end with a submission many fans have voted on Tapology.com 70% believe that Ryan Hall may win this on the ground, which is kind of clear, but Ilia has a good takedown defense he can wrestle and he sure believes that he can take Hall and feel OK with his technique that may work on Hall, but in seeing Topuria's stats I don't know if Hall can really win this, at first I am amazed at Hall getting a one-shot takedown on his opponent, but Topuria can get technical here and can win with either a submission or a TKO/KO, that is how good Topuria is, I really feel confused on this one but I will bet for Topuria I know I am in favor with Hall at first but after seeing Topuria with his skill set, and the stake.com's odds they are pretty not quite good for Hall 3.00 for Hall and 1.46 for Topuria.

Smiley

Well, the sentiment for the longest time has been that he ain't really motivated at all, but he still shows up and delivers great fights. I have yet to see a boring CMG fight (and that's even going pretty far back), So motivated or not, we might see a good one.

Guys, we have missed some important news.

There is an interesting topic -  UFC inks $175-million sponsorship deal with Crypto.com. At first I did not believe my eyes, but then tippytoes posted news article.

Crypto.com will appear as a sponsor during this weekend even (Conor vs Poirier 3). That is an amazing promotion of cryptocurrency. Great timing by crypto.com.

I wonder if Adesanya, Ngannou will wear crypto.com badges on their shorts, while being stake.com ambassadors Cheesy

I'll be going for the submission from Ryan Hall. However, while the odds are pretty nice, I think that's a fair reflection. Topuria is going to know that will be Ryan's game plan, and previously we have seen Ryan Hall be a little bit one dimensional once he can't secure the takedowns. So, it'll be an interesting fight, I don't think we will see any traditional take downs from Ryan Hall, but more of his signature move of going for a leg hook. Whether or not Topuria can escape those will determine the outcome of the fight.

It is hard to stop someone that is good as Ryan Hall though. Since, Topuria would likely only have worked on stopping the heel/leg hooks in training camp. Its unlikely he's learned to have done it before that, at least in an extensive way since not many fighters of today utilize it.

But he was motivated during the build up of the rematch vs Poirier.  But then he lost.  Lol.  Now it’s like he’s just there..  apathetic and indifferent.  Even if he wins the match this weekend, I don’t think he’ll be going for another title run.  He’ll just prolly take Diaz or another boxing match.  If anything, he could be mentally done.

Yeah I don't normally look into pre fight too much in terms of how it effects my bets, but I think Conor at his best, is the one that plays a lot of mind games, and acts the villain. As Tokeweed says, he looks indifferent. Its a shame, because you see all the legends in the sport, and they often carry on fighting until they are old, and you wish they retired sooner, because they start to lose. However, Conor seems to have just reached a point where he doesn't care anymore. He has the money, and it seems like it was all about the money, and never about the legacy.

I really hope I'm proven wrong come this saturday for the sake of the division. However, I'm really feeling like Conor might be done competing at the highest level for the biggest stakes.

I can't believe that UFC is still posting those bus incidents to pump this fight with McGregor, but I guess that is the only thing they have left unless he makes something new in next few days.
Dustin Poirier is much better human being and I guess this is classical fight between good and bad guy, and my pick is on good guy this time.

^^ Probably Conor talking about the supposedly Pacquaio fight.

Quote
In an interview Thursday with ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith, McGregor admitted that he wasn’t fully focused on the task at hand. He wound end losing via second round knockout to Poirier.

“I pitied the man. I was looking past him. I had a Manny Pacquiao camp in place,” McGregor stated.

This time around he insists that he is fully locked in on his rival and doesn’t expect the fight to go the distance.

“I’m coming to kill the man. I’m coming in with vicious intent here. Mortar shots. What else can I say? That’s the way it is. I’m looking to take this man out cold,” McGregor said.

So he is motivated here, as others have said, it seems that he is different and fully focus and wanted to get Dustin heads off in this match.

I think he was motivated to take his head off in the previous one, he was head hunting with reckless abandon through the fight XD I hope he is a bit less motivated to take his head off and more motivated to stick to a good gameplan if he is in there to win, obviously. But I'll give him the benefit of doubt.
