I am totally excited when Ryan Hall returns but after seeing his opponents records, stats, and the way he fights I surely dig deep in researching Ilia Topuria on his previous fights and even some predictions on the internet and they are all saying the same, even the odds are against Hall that is why instead of betting for Ryan Hall, I have switched my bet to Topuria, But after seeing their fight I think Ryan Hall needs to change his game, but he keeps on doing that Imanary roll, over and over but with no success, because Topuria already knows what Hall is trying to do,
Ryan Hall is a fighter who surprised me with his wins as he always fights as an underdog and ends up winning and he is really great on the ground but if he keeps on doing the same thing, people are smart enough to study their game plan and the game plan and understanding the opponents weakness is part of the game and Ryan Hall was trying something which was predictable and he was not able to find any rhythm  in the fight.

That is so sad for Ryan Hall, he doesn't up, his game and fighters right now are smart in reviewing other fighters technique, so when Topuria has seen Hall's stands he immediately know what Hall may up to, and he is really expecting him to execute the Imanari Roll and what do you know he keeps repeating the same move over and over again, and while watching this I was really shocked because the wizard didn't come prepared for his fight, So that goes to show that Ilia Topuria is one of a genius fighter who will surely look at his opponent movement first before handling down his technique, and actually Topuria really didn't have any challenge from that fight that is why I have shifted my pick from Ryan Hall to Ilia Topuria.

It would benefit the UFC to organize a rematch with Poirier VS Conor with the belt on the line, however surely that would be hard to justify if Conor hasn't moved his way up the rankings. Isn't he something like 7th right now? Someone in 7th place shouldn't be challenging the world champion. Although, money talks so it could potentially happen.

Although I've never liked Conor McGregor, but I think a rematch should be done, because the leg injury that Conor McGregor got in the fight a few days ago forced Conor McGregor to give up on the fight and if we look at the re-recording of the fight when Conor McGregor was injured, it was not entirely due to a punch or kick from Dustin Poirier but rather Conor McGregor positioned his foot in the wrong position, resulting in an injury.
And according to the news, if Dana White (UFC boss) has arranged for a rematch between Dustin Poirier vs Conor McGregor, to take place after Conor McGregor recovers from his leg injury and of course if this will be an opportunity for Dustin Poirier to silence Conor McGregor who says if dustin poirier's win a few days ago was a fake win.

This was the result I was most disappointed in. Ryan Hall is a fan favourite especially for those that watch the Ultimate Fighter. Unfortunately, and it was quite evident in Ultimate Fighter that this was the case, he is probably the best I've seen at what he does, but he doesn't offer a great deal outside of that. His ground game is phenomenal, and he isn't too bad at throwing punches from time to time. However, he doesn't present a massive threat on the feet, and his takedowns are particularly concerning. I'd like to see him ditch the roll, and try to single or double leg take down from time to time just so that his opponents wouldn't be able to predict him as much. Basically, in training camp all they have to do is learn to avoid the roll, and when caught how to get out of the 50/50 position since that is the primary goal of going for those leg hooks.

That foot of his was already damaged or weakened by the time he came to plant it. I don't know if it was done in training prior to the fight or if one of those checked kicks did the damage, but for certain it wasn't the way he planted his foot on the ground that caused it. It was the fact that by that time it was already mashed up.

Yeah, Conor was doing well up until the guillotine attempt, but he managed to get back up after a while, and that last exchange no punches landed from either fighter it was just the fact that Conor had a significantly messed up foot. However, that's part of the fighting game, and technically its a loss. I did say earlier in the thread that Conor didn't look too bad at all in the fight so its not a direct criticism of him, but just unfortunate luck. Conor won't be back for a few months though as its recovery time, as well as regaining the strength he has lost in that ankle of his, as well as gaining the fitness back. By that time I would expect Poirier, and Oliveria to have already fought for the title.

There was a few check kicks that might have caused the damage and in this fight Conor McGregor was planning to kicks the legs of Dustin Poirier and he was smart enough to check them and it might be the reason for the injury and that broke off completely when he put pressure on the leg.

Conor McGregor will never accept defeat and as long as he is having drawing powers Dana White will be happy to comply with his demands but i do not see we need to see another fight but Dustin Poirier will earn big and let him make money as he is going to win again as no one returned after that kind of injury and peaked.

Dustin Poirier proved that is is two classes about trash egoic Conor McGregor with his death threats, and if I was in place of Dana White I would not give him rematch fight, because he does not deserve it.
Like Khabib said few days ago, if Dustin and Conor meat 100 times all 100 time Dustin will win easily, and everyone is now of Dustin side.
All his money earned means nothing now and his reputation is ruined forever.

The use of steroids might also be another reason for Conor’s weak bones. Steroid use causes osteoporosis according to some health websites. The bone loss caused by this also happens very quickly.

How quickly can bone loss occur when taking a steroids?

Bone loss occurs most rapidly in the first 6 months after starting oral steroids.

Source https://www.health.ny.gov/publications/1985/index.htm

That is about oral steroids. Athletes use injected steroids which might cause bone loss much quicker than 6 months.

the result will be the same, Connor will fail miserably now that he has an injury. even if that broken leg heals, he will never be the same again. it does happen all the time,  the superstar today will be replaced by upcoming stars.

The use of steroids might also be another reason for Conor’s weak bones. Steroid use causes osteoporosis according to some health websites. The bone loss caused by this also happens very quickly.

aren't steroids illegal which fighters are examined regularly if they have drug substances?  if they are using these i guess we could also assume Anderson silva had been on steroids for awhile too.

I'm not a fan of Jake Paul, but its a brilliant move on his part. Plus, with him losing to Poirer yet again, and looks to be going off the relevancy chart, a fight with Jake Paul might actually redeem some of his wrong doings in the eyes of many. Although, I'm not even sure Conor is playing that bad character anymore, and he seems to have morphed into the bad character. There's currently a bit of drama on some tweets he posted up, and deleted shortly after. I don't really understand the Irish lingo used on the tweets, but it really doesn't sit well with me the angle he seemed to be coming from.

What a way to ruin a legacy. As for the purse split, I doubt Poirer who prioritized a fight over Conor than the title fight, would only get 1 million from it. It has to be higher or at least more equally shared.

He knows how to promote himself and he's doing a good job of getting McGregor's attention. Connor hasn't shot the fight down either and said something along the lines of never say never when asked about fighting the Pauls. He'd be a fool to straight up shoot it down as he knows how much money there will be in it and it might be his best option if he keeps losing in the UFC.

Conor will likely always bring in the crowds, regardless of whether he wins, loses or draws. However, is legacy certainly is being tarnished now. At the end of the day, if he took that with a bit of humility, then the injury would have been just that. The fight started well, and it would have been interesting to see what would have happened in the second round. I thought Conor was doing okay on the ground, and was landing some nice elbows. Poirier actually didn't get too much damage in while on top, it was probably about equal in terms of damage. So, Conor by no means was out of that fight prior to the injury, he just lost the round, but he did a few times clip Poirier, and as Poirier said himself; he was a little buzzed.

I wouldn't say always. It's hard to imagine him not bringing in a crowd but lets say he has 5 fights and loses them all badly the PPV numbers will likely dwindle fight after fight. For now though he's still bringing them in as it was the second biggest PPV buys only behind his Khabib fight.

If he keeps fighting I'm sure he will eventually have all ten places but I think fighters like Nganou will start to draw the big numbers too. If McGregor is only making around 3 million a fight then I'm sure he will just start fighting people like the Paul's or maybe do another boxing match with Floyd or Manny P where he will get 5 times as much.

I just wish Conor just let the fighting do the talking or at the very least keep the smack talk to more on the light hearted side, with the intention of getting in their heads. He seems to be really stepping over that line recently.

Yeah, there's an art to it, but he's crossed the line recently and it seems more malicious and from a place of hate and desperation rather than just trying to hype up a fight.

Poirier isn't beating Oliveria in my book, though. Although, I'd love to see Poirier get that belt, I think we would see Oliveria using his wrestling skills to effectively dominate Poirer with control time.

There would be outrage if Connor was given a title shot. Poirier should fight for it and then do the McGregor rematch when Connor is ready whether the belt is on the line or not. Connor should probably have a tune up fight before that as well maybe.

I know how big Conor has been for the sport, but it is still unbelievable the amount of pay per view buys he actually brings in for the UFC. If those statistics above are accurate, Conor has been involved in 7 out of the 10 biggest pay per view events in UFC history.

Most certainly would dwindle. Although, I think it would take a lot more losses on Conor's record than 5 more fights to bury the hatchet. The thing is with Conor, he was dominating from a young age, hes still like 33 years old (I believe his birthday was yesterday?), and collected a massive win to loss ratio at a young age. Yet, usually what fans are used to seeing is fighters collecting a decent, but more losses than Conor at a young age, then they get a little more experienced, and tend to start putting a run together. So while Conor has had a bad few years now, I don't think its anything completely out of the ordinary in terms of the ratio. Plus, most of his losses have been against other top opponents in the top 5.

There would be outrage if Connor was given a title shot. Poirier should fight for it and then do the McGregor rematch when Connor is ready whether the belt is on the line or not. Connor should probably have a tune up fight before that as well maybe.
Ideally, Conor would fight someone else in the top 5, and win before getting the title shot. However, in Dana's eyes he's going to see the profit margin, and how a rematch fight for the title would be massive. I think we will see Poirier vs Oliveria, if Poirier wins that, and gets the belt it'll be Conor's "redemption" for the belt, at the highest stakes, and Dana will sell it to the fans as the biggest fight in history. If Oliveria wins, then I can see Poirier just out right refusing the rematch with Conor. Then again, Poirier might see it as a easier payday than other opponents, but his career might potentially stagnate as a result.

Chalky card but most of the favorites in these matches don’t look parlayable except for Khabib protoge, Makhachev and maybe Daniel Rodriguez cos his opponent took the fight on short notice.  Gamrot will probably win but Stephens is a test, Viera is a gasser and I don’t trust Nascimento after fight with Daukas.

I think Thiago Moises could potentially cause an upset, but that would be a shot in the dark, and its much more likely it'll be a decision win by Makhachev. Not too many fights that I'm excited about though, Daniel Rodriguez, Gamrot, and the main event would probably be the only fights that I'd have some sort of hype for.

Although, I must say I've scrunched my nose up at events without massive names on it before, and when I've watched them they've proven to be a blast with several good fights.

^  There’s like 6 matches in this event that could potentially end in an upset but no way it’s Makhachev vs Moises imho.  I think Makhachev inside the distance at 2.50 could be the play here...  Another fun way to bet this is Makhachev win and what round.  Rounds 3, 4 and 5 are lined at 12, 15 and 21 at some fiat books.  Crypto books are usually late in opening props.

The use of steroids might also be another reason for Conor’s weak bones. Steroid use causes osteoporosis according to some health websites. The bone loss caused by this also happens very quickly.
This is not a fair assessment, whenever Conor McGregor is fighting for the UFC they are undergoing stringent steroid test and he would have popped any time if he was taking anything, it might be true that people taking steroid might be having weak bones but there is no way Conor McGregor would have taken that, if it is some other fighting organisation without drug test then we could believe that something fishy was going on.

I'm sure, I'm really feeling Thiago to cause the upset here. I mean, the odds are telling everyone that Thiago has no chance in hell, but at odds like 5.00 just for winning outright, I feel that's good value for money, despite being the overwhelming underdog. Although, I'll be honest this is partly swayed by massive favorites letting me down before. For example, just recently the O'Malley fight vs Moutinho. I had an accumulator with O'Malley winning in the 2nd round, while he did stop that fight, and it was probably just about justified, I feel like Moutinho could have gone the distance.

So, while O'Malley won that fight, and quite convincingly, everyone thought he was going to put him away very early, probably most predicting first round. Thiago, at least has some experience, and I know the guy can throw a punch. So, I'm always cautious with these types of fights, especially on accumulators. Thiago must be the biggest underdog on the card, right?

Although Ilia Topuria is a better fighter for now because of the many techniques he can showcase against Hall I still believe as well that Ryan Hall needs to change those takedowns but I am not asking him to be just like Khabib I am asking Ryan Hall to Up his game by mixing takedowns and grappling I guess I still want to see the wizard in action but with a new arsenal at his disposal he can sure do a double leg takedown from opponents that are not heavier for him and if a leg lock would not be guarantee to take your opponent then a leg slide can be a good addition to his technique, I would like to see him again and hopefully he will do his best next time.

I thought that Sean O'Malley would stop the fight easily and that his opponent was a short time replacement who was not ranked and there is no way anyone could expect an upset but Kris Moutinho was tough enough that he lasted 3 rounds with him and so is the reason Kris Moutinho won the bonus because it was a good fight while it lasted even though majority thought it would end earlier.

Time to move on from previous event drama to UFC Fight Night Makhachev vs Moises, and people are calling Islam Makhachev to be new Khabib.
He has one defeat against Adriano Martins but this was way back in 2015 and I think he is much better and complete fighter now.
Thiago Moises is a great fighter but I think that style of Makhachev is not good for him and I saw him losing against Damir Ismagulov and Beneil Dariush in UFC,
outside of UFC he also lost from  Robert Watley and Jason Knight but I never watched that fights.

Strange to see that Islam Makhachev never gets an opponent with rank, higher than his. As if UFC is slowing him down. With 8-1 record, he should not be on top9, but should be in top5 already. There are two grandpas in lightweight top, Ferguson and Dos Anjos. Makhachev must be on their place. For example, how can Tony with 3 straight losses be on top5?

The thing is, Ryan must know this. If you've ever heard him speak he's actually pretty intelligent. He also teaches Brazilian Ju jitsu. I just can't fathom him not knowing that he needs to work on his takedowns. For someone so dangerous on the mat, if he could mix it up a little, people will be worried about more things, and it'll likely open up more openings for the roll too. Its just so interesting to see such a top mind in terms of mastering a certain technique, neglect something that would both directly, and indirectly help him succeed.

Technically not three rounds due to the ref stopping it with only like 20-30 seconds left on the clock. At that point he had already endured a ton of damage, and I'm not sure why it was stopped. Should have been stopped earlier if they were worried about the volume of punches. It wasn't an amazing fight really, it was a masterclass by O'Malley from a punching point of view. I know he had over 80% accuracy quite late on in the fight, but Moutinho didn't really offer all that much other than being a human punching bag. That's not much of a criticism, since he proved quite a lot that night, and won a lot of fans, but he didn't really threaten all that much, but its his debut in the UFC, and he's fighting one of the most promising fighters in it, so there's that to take into consideration too.

Lesnar and Mir, what a banger that was...different times for MMA. I am really surprised about the Tate Nunez numbers, I can't really remember the fight at all, I would guess that with the current political situation, that Namajunas vs Weili would bring in bigger numbers. Well, so much for my predictions..
